Us Weekly: Angelina Jolie & the kids were interviewed by the FBI for ‘four hours’

wenn21142826

Every Wednesday, it does feel like there’s some fresh hell waiting for all of us with this Brangelina Divorce. As I covered earlier, Brad Pitt is still being investigated by DCFS, and the agency has actually expanded their investigation because they allegedly got further information about Brad’s behavior towards the kids. We also heard last week – last Wednesday, when the tabloids come out – that Angelina was interviewed by the FBI regarding the sh-t that went down on the private plane. Now US Weekly has more info about that FBI interview and more.

In her two-decade career, Angelina Jolie has sat for hundreds of interviews. But on October 18, at her rented L.A.-area home, she submitted to one of the most important Q&As of her life. For four hours, two FBI agents questioned the Maleficent star, 41, and some of her six children about the incident aboard a private plane September 14, in which Brad Pitt drank and allegedly became physical with one of the kids.

“The agents wanted a breakdown of everything that happened from when the plane took off to when it landed,” says an insider. “They’re looking into charges of assault.” And Jolie, who filed for divorce from the Allied actor, 52, days after the traumatic flight, “fully cooperated,” according to another source.

FBI officials aren’t the only ones digging. The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services has also continued to look into allegations of abuse, according to the insider. (Pitt sources adamantly deny any wrongdoing on his part.) Because of its ongoing investigation, the DCFS has indefinitely extended the temporary parenting plan that was set to expire October 20.

“Neither side wants this to go to court because everything the FBI and DCFS investigated will potentially be made available to the public,” says the insider, “which would be bad for the entire family.”

Pitt will probably be under scrutiny well into next year. The FBI “will likely investigate for another few weeks,” says the insider, who says officials have also interviewed other potential witnesses, including members of the crew on the flight from Nice, France, to Burbank, California. Once agents finish, “they will present the case to the prosecutor, who will evaluate whether they feel the need to bring charges against Brad,” continues the insider. “It could potentially be months.”

[From Us Weekly]

In Touch Weekly also has an exclusive story saying much of the same stuff, that the FBI is still investigating – I guess they finally “opened up an investigation” after all – and that the FBI is investigating it as a potential misdemeanor assault case. In Touch Weekly’s sources also say that the fact that Brad is still being investigated by two agencies (the FBI and DCFS) does not bode well for him. A source tells In Touch: “DCFS could have closed this case and referred the family to a mental health professional. The fact that they didn’t, the fact that they are still involved, shows it’s serious.” Sources also claim that while Brad is “disgusted” by the way Angelina has handled this – ??? – he’s also in a weird position because, you know, Angelina actually appears to be doing the best she can for her kids.

A nasty divorce for something which was once a beautiful family.

    • QQ says:

Yo! for some reason I was thinking that this morning, Like WOOOOWWW these two went so hard off the paint that I don’t see them being able to coparent in a friendly fashion again, let alone the pining hope people seem to have that they’ll get back together

      • burns says:

Their assistants will talk to each other, I guess. I don’t even see them speaking to each other ever again. This whole divorce is so nasty. It’s really sad and it makes me angry when I see comments on the Internet where people write mean things about their kids, especially about Maddox etc.

      • QQ says:

Right! that’s kinda what I was Wondering.. P.As Handoffs etc.. it kinda blows my mind really cause now these 6 kids have to adjust to the adults Scorched Earth approach

      • burns says:

Yeah, this whole situation is just sad.

      • Em says:

Yeah I don’t think that’s going to happen either. Never would have thought this would be how their relationship ended. It is sad.

    • L says:

      Remember what Dr. Drew said???!

    • Malibu Stacy says:

Seriously! He must have done something truly awful because I always thought they were so solid.

  2. Paradon says:

Stay strong Angie…. the truth is gradually coming out

    • LiterallyaShambles says:

      Absolutely.

      • Paradon says:

Im proud of her as a woman. She went mama bear and damned the consequences she only started reacting because of the terrible things people were saying about her kids and it was high time she did that actually.

  3. minx says:

She did what she had to do for her kids.
I wish people would realize that, but so many enjoy painting her as the villain.

    • Paradon says:

Exactly i think that picture is becoming clearer now. Im glad she pulled the plug on the marriage

      • Elizabeth Palmer says:

Brads better off without her she’s making him look bad shes the evil witch that filed for divorce that was a bad mistake they could of seen a family councillor in first place how dumb was she brad hasnt replied to her divorce filing so dont rubbish brad shes the cause of all the trouble he is not guilty i dont see what he did wrong

      • Neo says:

Elizabeth Palmer… I’m sure I won’t be the only one to respond to your fly-by comment. Let me be among the first to say that you are unlikely to know more about the inner workings of their marriage than the FBI investigating their case, and that any man who is “disgusted” with his wife’s divorce filings will make his own submission to the courts unless he’s too poor to hire a lawyer or he knows damn well that the facts and the court’s sympathies will be well in her favour.

      • OH Poor Brad says:

Elizabeth Palmer says: i dont see what he did wrong

WTF!!!!!!!!!! GOD, please, give me strength!

      • Carmen says:

Elizabeth Palmer: I was unable to make heads or tails of your comment, and it’s probably just as well.

  4. detritus says:

I love her with the darker hair, and that silver cross front dress with her skin is beautiful.

I don’t think there is much going to change my opinion on this. Brad behaved badly, maybe even criminally. He broke the trust of his children. Now he’s mad it got out of hand and people found out, and he’s blaming Jolie (if this is true). Instead, he should be taking responsibility as the person who acted out, reflecting on his behaviour and hopefully sorting it out with his children so he can have a relationship with them.

    • Paradon says:

He is more concerned about how he is perceived by the public instead of the effect his action has taken on his family. glad the truth is coming out gradually

      • BonnieJean says:

I think AJ & BP are BOTH very concerned as to how they are perceived by the public. Their careers depend on it — of the two…Brad is being more quiet about it, it seems. Who are these so called ‘sources’ that know the FBI interviewed AJ for 4 hours?? How would they even know this? Is the FBI now reporting directly to the rags? This whole thing stinks to high heaven.

      • Agapanthus says:

I agree Bonniejean. The whole thing stinks. Who is leaking this stuff to the press? This should have all been done privately, behind closed doors. THAT would have been protecting the children. And they are not HER children, they are THEIR children.

      • Carmen says:

        You’re kidding, right?

Brad has been “more quiet about it”? For a week after they split, his team was putting out one broadside after another trying to make him the innocent party in this mess and painting Angie as the wife from hell. They only chilled when they realized they were making Brad look like a big whiny man-child.

Your antipathy towards Angie is glaringly evident, but stop trying to make her the villain of this melodrama. It’s past time for Brad to man up and accept his responsibility for his actions. So far, he seems to be all about “Angie made me do it”.

  5. Aang says:

I’m shocked that this is being taken so seriously. I know a woman who legitimatly abuses her kids and it has taken the better part of a decade to get her boys out of her home. The father of her daughter is still fighting to get the girl out of her custody. And as an educator I’ve had to call CPS before. It takes a lot for a parent to be declared unfit, especially if there are no physical signs of abuse and there is food, heat, and running water in the home. I wonder if these kids are getting the kind of protection that every child deserves but doesn’t get because their parents are not famous or wealthy. Another example of privilege for the wealthy?

    • Addison DeWitt says:

      I think you’re right.

    • yuck says:

Yeah, I am very bothered by the fact that the FBI (FBI!) and DCFS are all up in this situation. Put your funding and your attention to homes where children are being seriously abused or even killed by their parents. That is not going to happen here, so it’s all a waste of time and taxpayer money.

      • Neo says:

Much of law enforcement is preventing crime. By pursing this at full tilt, they’re showing that the rich and powerful will be scrutinized and held accountable. Not a bad use of funds, if you ask me. Which, come to think of it, you didn’t. #unsolicitedadviceforthewin

  6. Lesa1 says:

I know it’s tupid to think about that right now but I really can’t imagine these two with new partners. They are AJP and BP, an item.

  7. marley31 says:

Sad for the kids. I for one have 3 kids a adults in there early 20″a and 1 10yr old and although I would not like the courts in my business dictating everything I would have done 1 thing different I would prably have committed domestic violence. Kids are innocent and should not be dragged in adult mess or used as punching bags (figuratively speaking) cause someone had a bad day

  8. LadyT says:

I wish I knew exactly what he actually did. Did he shake someone by the shoulder or knock them across a room? Did he raise his voice at unruly kids or eviserate them verbally?

    • rightround says:

We’ll never know because Brad and Angelina will never talk about it to protect their kids from the media and so on.

      • LadyT says:

But they are not being protected at all from the media. The way this is all playing out is incredibly damaging to the kids and their future relationship with their father. Brad is currently being vilified in the majority of these comments. If he’s a clever monster- great, he deserves it. BUT if this is all nasty divorce spin it is sickening and I hope the culprit get as much piled on hate and reputation damage as is currently going Brad’s way.

      • Rolly says:

BUT if this is all nasty divorce spin it is sickening and I hope the culprit get as much piled on hate and reputation damage as is currently going Brad’s way.
Brad did wrong yet Angie is the culprit i feel so sad because that is why victims dont speak up

      • Rolly says:

        LadyT
        wow just wow……. SMH

      • LadyT says:

No, no and no. I never mentioned Angelina. I can doubt abuse and still like Angelina. That’s why I deliberately used the openly defined “culprit.”

    • bani says:

LadyT why do you ask? after all you believe the alleged abuse never happened according to your comment on the previous post about them

      • LadyT says:

You’re right. I don’t. I’d like the true details to come out BECAUSE I’ve seen none that merit the label “abuse.”

  9. Moon says:

How is she doing the best by her kids? Pulling this huge fiasco and escalating it into involving the FBI is traumatizing for the children. I’m sure there are better ways to resolve this that did not have to involve the kids having to go through questioning about their father.

    • Paradon says:

You sound so sure Angie called the FBI on Brad Pitt. The kids know the truth on what went down we dont know so stop judging her.

    • L says:

      Yes, this.

    • minx says:

She didn’t call the FBI. Weren’t they involved because the incident happened in the air? There were also witnesses to his behavior and once it became public it was out of her hands.

    • I don’t believe she called them. I know I wont explain this properly, but it has something to do with aviation laws as well as federal laws due to a baggage cart, or something like that, being driven off by Brad. Anyway, it was something like that that involves investigations being enacted automatically.

  10. FlowerParis says:

I really would like to know who called the cops/CPS…

    • BonnieJean says:

You & me both. Evidently there was something going on prior to the plane incident as AJ had already secured the rental house 3 weeks earlier. I do know that the perfect relationship does not fall apart over night.

      • bani says:

Well thats a big lie Angie hadn’t rented a house 3 weeks to the incident, the way people go about blaming and lying on Angie for Brad Pitts mistake is appalling.. Its so sad.

      • FlowerParis says:

It’s just a feeling but I think they had a lot of problems. A lot of different interests. To me it looks like she’s not interested in HW anymore but he wants to stay there and keep doing movies etc

      • Mercy says:

Poor Angie even when its clear her husband was the one who messed up she is still taking the whole blame

      • Gwen says:

The news about her renting three weeks before she filed was false. Daily Mail printed that story. However, TMZ and other publications said she didn’t rent it until the week of the incident. I would guess they had problems before the incident, but I’m not going to hold it against them for being human.

      • Carmen says:

@ FlowerParis: I think that’s the root of the whole problem. They simply grew too far apart to make the marriage work any more. Different interests, different priorities, etc. And Brad indulging in a major midlife crisis didn’t help any.

      • FlowerParis says:

        @Carmen: ITAWY.

    • bani says:

What does it matter who did.

      • FlowerParis says:

Well if it was someone from their people (assistants, nanny,…) then they are not trustworthy. JMO.

    • als says:

Probably somebody that got sick of witnessing it all over again and started getting scared.

  11. Frosty says:

This too shall pass. The machine just has to grind on, in its own time. AJ is doing her best for their kids and hopefully so is Brad. The wording used by the sources is hinky, btw – someone has it in for this family, imo.

  12. Sage says:

Jolie is not trying to takedown or destroy Brad. Unfortunately, he has done this to himself.

What’s really sickening is that Maddox is now being attacked for Brads behaviour!

  13. ^^ says:

I wonder who Brad’s next girlfriend will be.

  14. Berlin says:

I’d really like to know when their relationship started to fall apart because if they had problems before the marriage, they shouldn’t have married.

    • Misogynist culture says:

the three last intents of many couples on the rocks: having a baby, make a trip togethet or get married. I know, seems crazy but it’s very frequent.

  15. Cookiejar says:

I have no idea if this ever happened behind closed doors on land. But for it to happen while thousand of miles in the air must have been terrifying.

    • Carmen says:

They are not just investigating the incident on the plane. They are looking to determine if there was an ongoing pattern of abuse.

      • Misogynist culture says:

@Carmen, In this point, i think they are investigation IF it is or not a case of violence domestic. The seriousness the all situation seems to exceed to one and only altercation.

  16. Bread and Circuses says:

The only thing I like about this story is getting to see so many older photos of Angelina looking stone-cold AWESOME on various red carpets. She (and many of her dresses) are such eye-candy.

  17. Sara says:

This is more serious than first thought. For her to go to this length means things were pretty bad. No wonder she got so thin. He was probably verbally abusive to her and slowly she lost herself once she realized she was in too far.

  18. Meandyou says:

Why do they continue to leak details of how the investigation is going? Maddox wanting to leave the meeting with Brad. How long the FBI interview went for. These are all too specific to just be made up. They are both more concerned about image than the wellbeing of the kids. A lot of money riding on them, especially him. Her, I’m not sure she has much of a career left. She’s over 40, won’t have the family appeal to bank on anymore and usually has crap taste for picking scripts. Not that the meaty roles of Cate/Amy/Nicole/JLaw are even offered to her. Silver Lining Playbook was 5 years ago.

    • Misogynist culture says:

Maleficent +$800 million WW box office. Don’t worry about her economic well being, she will be OK…

Think is very clear she is not interested in HW at all. Look at her next project FTKMF a really small movie, with CAMBODIAN! lenguage

      • Meandyou says:

I’m not “worried” about a millionaire. I’m talking about the reality of actresses of her age and how the roles dry up for them after 40, especially since she’s not a strong actress to begin with.

      • almondmilk says:

Trying again. Other was a little TL: DR

        To @meandyou

We get it. For some reason you want to convey Angie has no talent, is old at 40 yrs of age, and will invariably be destitute soon because of those reasons as her industry will turn it’s back…oh, and I think you really wanted to convey she is also old…and did I mention you think that she is…old…and of course OLD.

        40 folks.

Remember ladies, don’t forget to off yourselves the day after your 40th birthday. There’s not much else to live for.

Wow it’s hard our here for a woman. What doesn’t get mentioned enough is that it’s women making it just as hard for themselves as the misogynistic men.

It’s why I still worry about Angelina’s cousin Hillary (lol) and if she’ll get in. The resentment is strong among some women for the powerful take charge women among us.

Quick clarification: Angelina has been honored by her industry (OSCAR) 3x with noms and awards. So what some women on message boards may think of her ‘strength,’ is irrelevant. If Chelsea Handler and Jennifer Aniston get movie work I don’t think we need to sweat much younger Oscar winners.

Since you’re familiar with her career and what she gets offered, I don’t need to tell you about her franchises that she makes bank off that would keep her sitting pretty for a long time even if she literally did nothing else, at least until her kids are grown. She’s got besties like George Lucas and Paul Allen who can spot her a couple bucks as well. No worries

Plus she’ll have her kids millionaire Dad to pick up the slack I’m sure, if she falls on hard times. Lol.

  19. shouldawoulda says:

FBI are investigate a premeditation and corruption of justice. They are going after laura wasser.

    • almondmilk says:

      What’s this gibberish? Lol
Some of the unhinged hater faction reminds me of the psycho Trump fans, ‘Lock her up, lock her up, ‘ they chant about Hill. Is that the fantasy re Angelina? It’s not enough the family might be torn apart by alcoholism or a traumatic incident spawned by that, they’ve got to suffer crazy people on the interwebs spinning fanfic via cryptic posts that it’s really mommy going to jail.

      Pretty sick.

  20. Loo says:

Jolie has almost always had bad taste as far as picking quality films is concerned. But you know Maleficent may have been a poorly reviewed movie but it made money. Though, I think that a sequel would pull an Alice Through the Looking Glass and make much less than the first.

I think Jolie will always get good roles if she actually wants them because of her box office clout. This isn’t important but I can’t help believe that Jolie and Pitt being together made each other bigger stars and that apart they won’t be as big.

    • Meandyou says:

This is true, together they were something else alltogether but of the two, Brad was always the bigger star. If they won’t be as big separately it is more to do with them aging and this being HW though again of the two, I can see him faring much better because the movies he makes and produces are better than hers.

Jolie may not have needed to take the big roles when she was part of a relationship that gave her a lot of publicity to continue pursuing her other interests. On her own? I wouldn’t be so sure if all she has to offer to the public are updates on her UN trips and tidbits about her kids. Fine work, entertainment wise there’s very little value.
