Shia LaBeouf arrested again for being drunk & disorderly, this time over a cigarette

Well it seems that all that time isolated in a cabin in Lapland did nothing to improve Shia LaBeouf’s behavior. Shia has been investigated or arrested more times than I want to count. He was arrested for being physical with someone objecting to his anti-Trump art piece in January. He was found drunk and/or disorderly in both Austin and New York. He received the equivalent of a slap on his damaged hand for a DUI in California and he’s had a few incidents in London. So the fact that he got arrested once again for being drunk and disorderly in Savannah, Georgia where he is filming The Peanut Butter Falcon, is, sadly, not a huge shock. That he got mouthy with a cop when the officer wouldn’t give him a cigarette is a new twist. This all went down early Saturday morning after drunk Shia set out in search of a smoke. When the two people he asked said no, Shia shouted profanities at them. As luck would have it, one was a cop. Oops. Shia made a beeline into a hotel where we didn’t have a room and the cop cuffed him in the lobby.

Actor Shia LaBeouf has been arrested in Georgia, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office confirms to HuffPost.

A deputy sheriff at the office said the charges included obstruction, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. The deputy added no further information was available at this time.
TMZ, which also posted LaBeouf’s mugshot, first reported police arrested the actor for “being wasted and losing control of himself.” The incident occurred Saturday around 4 a.m., according to the Chatham County Sheriff Office website.

According to a statement from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred when LaBeouf “approached a bystander and a police officer asking for a cigarette,” reports CNN.

The statement continued, saying that the actor “became disorderly, using profanities and vulgar language, when he wasn’t given a cigarette.”

LaBeouf reportedly became aggressive toward the officer, refused to leave the area, and ran into a hotel when the officer tried to arrest him. He was then arrested in the hotel lobby.

The only other information we know is that the incident took place at 4AM and that Shia paid his $7,000 bond and was released. One report pointed out that women and children were present in the area when Shia started with his potty mouth. What were kids young enough they shouldn’t hear language doing out on the streets of Savannah at 4AM? But that’s beside the point. The point is, that other than the occasional bizarre art installation, the only news on Shia these days seems to involve his bad behavior. Maybe Shia is not my favorite person but I don’t like to see him destroying his life. He was supposed to get alcohol counseling after the New York charge and we all hoped he’s get anger management counseling after he gave his then girlfriend, Mia Goth, with a black eye. And he never takes responsibility for his actions. It’s either because he is so method or, shamefully, he blames his victim for provoking him. I don’t know if he skipped counseling or if it wasn’t enough. Whatever it was, Shia is a walking cry for help.

Shia’s next film due out is his biopic Borg vs. McEnroe. Shia is playing 1980 John McEnroe and the film looks good to me, partly because I remember the Wimbledon final portrayed in the film. If you watch the (red band) trailer here, Shia looks like he turns in a really good performance. I have always thought Shia a talented actor but with all his outbursts, Shia being cast as McEnroe is starting to feel like typecasting.

I was watching the first Transformers the other day with my little cousins and was just thinking what happened to this dude..also thought the same about Megan Fox,they were so promising.

bet he will be good as john m

    2 sad things here:
    1) Shia was (is?) such a promising, talented actor–I hope he conquers his demons, but he has turned into a sad, alcoholic narcissist.
    2) Downtown Savannah is known as a party spot–what kind of parents have their kids out there at 4 am?!

  4. Lolo86lf says:

I feel sympathy for him. He is only hurting himself with his out of control behavior. Set me straight I am wrong but he has never harmed anyone else. He needs some good therapy to get better.

  5. MC2 says:

I always think of the wedding video with Mia talking in a baby voice and I wince when I hear of her. Something feels very off with those two. Just on Shia- the dude needs to get his act together. The child actor piece is wearing off and abusive drunk is not cute.

Savannahian here. To get arrested for being drunk and disorderly here is saying a LOT! Our police deal with a party atmosphere constantly, think similar to New Orleans. So he really must’ve been cutting up badly.

As far as the kids out at 4am that’s the burning question on locals minds as well. Downtown is no place for kids late at night/early am.

I heard the women and kids were in the hotel. If they were not, that is insane! I don’t go out downtown after dark without a buddy!

  7. Kiki says:

I don’t like Shia Leboeuf period but I hate to see anyone destroy their lives. I hope he get himself to rehab and he gets better so I can go back hating his self entitled douche of a man.

  8. Nicole Savannah, GA says:

Nothing good happens after midnight in downtown Savannah. I asked the arresting officer about the women and children. They were in the hotel.

  9. Raina says:

I can get the hyperbole about the children being around all of that but women?? Lol. Hopefully they had their smelling salts when Shia started to use those big bad potty words.

    • Steph says:

I know, right? I am a woman and the thought of Shia cussing makes me feel lightheaded…pass the salts!

  10. Neelyo says:

He’s been a little shit all the way back to PROJECT GREENLIGHT days so i’m not the least bit surprised. He’s the male Lindsay Lohan, burning up every undeserved opportunity that comes his way.

Parents, just say no to children in show biz.

  11. wolfi88 says:

Maybe he’s building up all of these arrests so he can gain street credit and release an artistic rap cd. lmao

Shia will probably go on like this, getting arrested for public displays of aggression, and the occasional bar brawls. His problems are very deep-rooted, and if you see his family dynamic and his sad upbringing, it’s remarkable that he got away from that and was able to use his acting talent. But he is squandering it, and it’s surprising to me that he is still getting jobs.

It would take a full-time commitment to therapy to make a dent in his personality. Dude needs a good sponsor and some AA meetings. Most of all, he needs to recognize that he needs help.
