Love ’em or hate ’em, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez want us to know how happy they are. They travel well, their kids get along, and they look like they’re really enjoying their lives together. Some people think Jennifer deserves a healthy romantic relationship, as she’s struck out with ex-husbands Marc Anthony (even though they remain close thanks to their shared parentage of twins Max and Emme), Chris Judd and Ojani Noa. And let’s not forget Casper Smart. Better yet, let’s forget him.

Jennifer spoke with HOLA! USA and talked about her romance with the former New York Yankee. She told the magazine “I’m in a good relationship” elaborating:

“I feel like I can say that for the first time— I don’t know — maybe ever. And not that I didn’t have great relationships, full of love and adventure, but this is the first relationship I’ve been where I feel like we really make each other better. We complement each other, and there’s really pure, true love. Just wanting to support the other person and make them happy. So there’s a different selflessness in the love that’s beautiful and different. And healthy!”

Jennifer, currently juggling a judging gig on World of Dance with her starring role on NBC’s cop drama Shades of Blue and her Las Vegas stage spectacular All I Have, is getting ready to drop a new album. Por Primera Vez will be her first Spanish language album since 2007’s Como Ama uno Mujer. Of the new project, which was executive produced by Marc Anthony, Jennifer excitedly admitted “I really love singing in Spanish.” You can tell she’s in love with her follow-up statement, “There’s just something about it that is more romantic and passionate to me, and that’s such a core part of who I am. I feel like I sing better in Spanish. We’re all interpreting songs as we go through life, right?”

Jennifer collaborated with many artists, including Nicky Jam, Wisin and Gente de Zona, on the album, which she calls “happy and fun.” She embraces their contributions, stating, ”I always want to work with new artists and want to do new things, work with whoever has the sound right now. Because that’s what’s exciting to me as an artist, musician, and singer, it’s to keep trying new things.”

Jennifer told HOLA! she was living in a “golden era,” asserting that “I feel that I am shining brighter than I ever have — that I’m better as a person, as a daughter, as a mother, as a friend, as a partner.” She went on to admit, “I’m not here to be perfect and I’m not here to be anything but my best, whatever that means for me.” I always liked Jennifer and I’m glad she’s happy. She deserves it.

She loves singing in Spanish but she doesn’t know Spanish. That was the big thing with her back in the day.
Anyways she deserves a good relationship as we all do but her picker has been off forever. I don’t think this is any different

    • JeanGrey says:

She does speak Spanish. I’ve seen and heard her speak it over and over. Is it more of a NY Rican Spanglish at times? Yes, but when she’s done interviews or statements or reads it off she has no problem . She speaks reads and understands it just fine.

I’m also a NY Rican and sometimes the words just get jumbled in each language in my head. When I’m in a place where people are only speaking Spanish, it may take me a bit to get my mind used to remembering the Spanish translations of words since I think them in English, but eventually it comes back to me. I read and write it much better.

      • Cherry says:

As Nicole said, her not knowing Spanish was her thing ‘back in the day’.
I recall reading that she learnt it later on in her life. She wasn’t brought up bilingual.

    • PIa says:

I love her new song “ni tu ni yo”. Her voice sounds amazing, and her Spanish has improved greatly.

    • MM says:

      Zzzzzzzzzzz she’s so self-absorbed. I

    • Are you confusing her with her role as Selena? Selena couldn’t speak Spanish, her father made her learn to sing in Spanish to cross over.

    • Sabrine says:

She could do so much better. This is not going to end well but in the meantime she’s going to waste a lot of time before the heartache.

  2. Cynthia says:

I truly hope this works out for her. I admire LO’s work ethics, people don’t talk about that much but can we give this woman credit for still being relevant after how many years. And that is largely due to her creating her own lane and ventures. Aside, from that she does have bad taste in men.

  3. Beth says:

She’s not the first woman to say those things. Unfortunately, I’ve said and thought it all before and things didn’t end up as great as I wanted or expected. Best luck to them

  4. detritus says:

Hmmm. Whatever she’s done to her 11s looks good.

  5. Cherry says:

I wish people (women) would stop posing for magazine covers with their mouth hanging open because they think it looks sexy.
It does not. It just makes them look dumb.

  6. ORIGINAL T.C. says:

Didn’t she wax poetic about her great love with Marc Anthony before too? She is in love with love and it won’t end well but I have mad respect for her work ethic. She is still going strong and has a hand in many different fields of the entertainment business.

    • Lisa says:

Yes I agree. It really seems like she says the same thing about her “new man” every. single. time.

  7. Alison says:

I really hope this works out but even if it doesn’t, she’s happy and that’s great. She’s very successful and therefore needs to stop with that ridiculous pout in every photo. It’s so thirsty when she really doesn’t need to be.

  8. Neo says:

I was so turned off her when I found out she performs for dictators. She’s with a notorious cheater. She was with an obvious leech for years. It feels like it’s not just her bf picker that’s off… She lucked into Marc Anthony, I guess. Whatever their drama, he seems like a great co-parent and business partner.

    • Carey says:

There were rumors for years that Marc Anthony hit her. If true, not so lucky.

    • Kosmos says:

She had been without a boyfriend at the time (awwww) when she went for Marc. They had been friends for years, and honestly, I think she went for him because she needed a mate. I don’t ever think she loved him, but what do I really know? I just think he was a substitute. Alex is a notorious cheater. He’s had so many women and yet the relationship ends after a year or so at the most. I think this is just another fun fling, but once they have had enough time together down the line, things will certainly be put to the test. I seriously doubt this will last for the long run. JLo is not my favorite kind of woman, and her choice in men isn’t great either. This will end at some point…..

  9. JeanGrey says:

For some of us, every new relationship is “the best one” until it isn’t. It’s new, it’s fresh and full of passion and lust. Then it runs it’s course and we realize it’s not much different than all the other relationships that didn’t work out.
I wish Jenny luck with ARod. I do like them together and they make sense, but he is a notorious chronic and compulsive cheater who also seems to “advise” his women to change their bodies. I want to see if this leopard has changed his spots cuz it would be nice, but I doubt it.

  10. Amy Tennant says:

Don’t forget Ben and Puffy! J-Lo and A-Rod make a weird kind of sense. I’m not ashamed to admit to rooting for them openly.

  11. Sage says:

JLo and Arod physically make sense but I get the feeling he is not into her as much as she is into him.

  12. isabelle says:

Anytime I hear “they make me a better person”, all i see is smoke and mirrors. Think its more about faking who you are because you are really trying to impress that person but down deep haven’t change. That will go away the longer you are in the relationship, maybe years later, and the true colors will show through sooner or later. A relationship built on “fake” and don’t trust that statement at all or the people who say it. W can only change ourselves or certain events can change us but other people?…….its still us who decides and we shouldn’t wait for ” the one” to make a decision to be a better person. Want to be a better person start now on yourself and stop waiting for that magical person.

    • Exactly Isabelle! This is how so many fall prey to users and abusers! You have to let go of the fantasy that someone else can change you. Only you can change yourself for the better, and you have to be careful of who changes you for the worse. You need to take your time growing up and being single. You have to be your own therapist and work through your issues, so you don’t project them onto someone else. You have to realize you’ve been you all along, and can’t find yourself in someone else. It amazes me the lack of self awareness, relationship after relationship, same mistakes, where’s the growth? Everyone would benefit being alone, that includes being codependent with your friends and siblings as well.

  13. babu says:

I remember the J-Lo who called Affleck while in the loo of a shopping mall, asking him to bring softer toilet paper. I like the current one much better.

I don t care about her love life and this should not be the standard by how we judge her, but I am seriously amazed by her career (and her body).

How is it that guys her age (fellow actors or performers) are viewed by the media (in the terms of the questions they ask and the editorial cover they give) solely on their careers (while the state of their 5th marriage with a dumb bimbo is only an accessory note) while women always have to peddle sh*t to the same media about their inner life, love and gossip about their relationships before being allowed to plug their project as a side note?

J-Lo probably knows lots of stuff about show business, business, company management, career progression, cultural relevancy, wealth preservation, fitness and health. And after years of proving this to the face of the world, still, people only care about who she dates and how long it will be fine between them.

No wonder Aniston tears down houses for a hobby after years of the same.

  14. A says:

Madonna thought he was her soul mate. Rumour has it Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz both ended up getting implants based on his comments to them when they were dating (and those two seemed infatuated with him as well).

  15. Bahare says:

Who doesn’t love new love? It feels great and looks great so enjoy it while you’ve got it. But I have been drowning in a hurricane here and just gotten back to reading this stuff and her quotes say that this is the first true and equal and deepest and on and on relationship she’s had in the “you make me a better person “thing. His say this is the greatest because she is admirable and it’s wonderful to be around someone whose a global star and a great role model for his daughters to see someone who is accomplished in many different things as the ultimate female worldwide multitasker in entertainment. Not good. But they do look great together …

  16. meh says:

She’s just so pretty that it’s basically unfair at this point.

  17. This is so new lol, tell me how you feel after he cheats on you over and over. I can’t believe a man who has always cheated, just stops(unless old as dirt). I also can’t understand how he’s hiding his controling ways, but I suspect Jenny finds that endearing. I’ll never understand ppl who blast their lives, especially their love lives to the world. How do you know what love or happiness is, if you have never been alone to find that for yourself? I love jlo, just my two cents.

  18. Ash says:

I would think that these two in the same room would cause it to explode. Both are in love with themselves.
