Kourtney Kardashian keeps ‘trace amounts of gluten & dairy in her body at all times’

Kourtney Kardashian Diet Tips is becoming one of my favorite series. Don’t get me wrong, Kourt has a dynamite figure and I know she works for it but, bless her heart – she’s not exactly reinventing the wheel diet-wise, is she? Like when she divulged her secret to her detox water: “1) get water 2) put stuff in it 3) drink the water. Step three is very important! But don’t eat the stuff in the water because – calories, ew!” Fortunately, Kourtney’s diet has evolved into eating actual food (even a sliver of pizza – gasp). If you want to stay as slim as Kourtney, now you can because she’s sharing her three-day meal plan on her paid app. If, like me, you don’t have her paid app, then I don’t know what to tell you. Where will we find a celebrity with diet advice?

Kourtney Kardashian announced she’ll be sharing “exactly what I eat” with a 3-day meal plan through her app on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Each day, Kardashian will post her “favorite healthy recipes and things I eat on a regular basis for breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

For the first day of her meal plan, the reality star shared a breakfast smoothie bowl made with fresh fruit, bee pollen and chia seeds. Next, she gave her recipe for a citrus salad, complete with a homemade Balsamic Vinaigrette. For dinner, the star recommended a recipe for a salmon filet with honey ginger glaze, which she eats religiously “once a week.”

Kardashian has tried many diets in the past, including the low-carb, high-fat ketogenic diet. After previously saying she weighed 98 pounds in February, the reality star announced she’s been taking a more relaxed “everything in moderation” approach. She said she sometimes treats herself with ice cream and pizza, and shared how she evolved from a gluten-free and dairy-free diet to keeping trace amounts of gluten and dairy in her body at all times.

[From People]

You can find her breakfast bowl smoothie recipe here. It looks fine (I’m too lazy to make smoothies). And I could follow her advice because I have three recipes for honey-glazed salmon alone. A tasty balsamic is always good to have on hand but there are store brands that are just as good as the citrus one I make, it doesn’t have to be homemade to taste good. Plus, going by what is listed above, that’s all coming in season so it sounds especially delicious right now. Honestly my biggest concern is the “three-day” part of the diet. Because this is Kourtney, what happens the other four days? I hope it’s not one of her ‘detox cleanses’.

The gluten/dairy part is interesting, though. Two years ago, Kourtney put not only herself but her kids on a gluten/dairy free diet after consulting some questionable “experts.” Since I don’t have her app, I can’t tell you why she’s keeping trace amounts of it in her body. I’m wondering if she’s just saying that she’s okay with a little bit in her diet or she is actively trying to keep a small percentage in her body? What’s the science behind that?

I wonder if her 23 year-old boyfriend keeps a stash of candy that he shares with her kids when she’s not looking.

The amount of vacations she goes on is insane considering she doesn’t do much “work” does she?

  2. Veronica S. says:

“Trace amounts.” Honey, just say you splurge occasionally like the rest of us.

    ALSO

Please tell me those are not bright magenta bootaloons.

(ELL OH ELL, I just went back to the previous article about her diet out of curiosity and realized a bunch of people here tried to “educate” me – a woman with a medical biology degree and ten years of hospital pharmacy experience – what “toxic” foods are. Someone here actually tried to tell me that table salt significantly different from Himalayan salt. Y’all tripping.)

    • Baby Got Back Fat says:

Oh is that what she means, that she splurges? Wtf I thought she meant some sort of weird nutrition capsule, Goop-style

    • Ankhel says:

Sure! They are, uh, bright magenta pantaboots?

      • Veronica S. says:

I hate that this woman has forced me to contemplate a reality where these things exist.

    • Bev says:

No girl, those are not bright magenta bootaloons. Those are bright fucshia bootaloons!

  3. Pandy says:

What is that – maybe 800 calories a day? Yeah, no thanks Kourtney. Will people actually pay for this nonsense???

  4. Taxi says:

Nonsense. To people who have gluten sensitivity, best diagnosed by endoscopic examination of the small intestine, it’s an irritant to the small intestine. For those with actual celiac disease, gluten is dangerous. It’s pretty hard to “keep trace amounts” of anything in the small intestine. She’d have to ingest some gluten & dairy about every 6 hours.

    • Veronica S. says:

If I’m remembering correctly from my classes, trace amounts of proteins can remain for months in a patient with hypersensitivity issues, but that has more to do with complications from the disease intolerance. But that’s not what she’s describing here. She’s just an idiot looking for a pseudoscientific way to tell us she got tired of eating so restrictively that she occasionally splurges. She eats a highly regulated diet with the occasional piece of pizza. Period, end of story.

    • isabelle says:

Medical professional—- and yes that is true for Gluten, if you are sensitive, don’t consume it at all. If lactose intolerant (not talking about actual allergic reaction people), it is best to eat a small amount of it (yogurts & non-processed cheeses are best). If not, the intolerance can become much worse.

  5. Slowsnow says:

OMG that breakfast bowl! Do people pay to see that? We’ve been seeing these for ages on instagram FOR FREE.

  6. stinky says:

Did she shave down her jaw or chin… cuz I think she’s been looking different for a while now… and I noticed because she was always the one who looked like she really hadn’t done anything to herself – but not anymore.
She looks more chiseled and pointy.

  7. morgfunk says:

just wanted to briefly say they are THE most vapid and useless family in the whole world. Shallow as a mud puddle. I saw in the news the other day she was lobbying congress and I was like, “huh maybe they’re not so bad after all, they care about stuff.” Then found out it was to lobby about cosmetics, no idea what it was about but obviously something that affected their business model. fucking garbage people, all of them.

  8. KiddV says:

I keep trace amounts of chocolate in my body at all times.

  9. Ruby says:

If you cut something out of your diet long enough you can loose the enzyme to digest it so if you still want the option to eat gluten or dairy you have to keep eating it sometimes so that you still produce the enzymes to digest it. I understand it can be very difficult to get those enzymes back once your body starts making them. Not sure how she keeps the trace amounts in her body but it could just mean taking a bite of something here and there.

  10. Tessa says:

She’s not the brightest that one

  11. Diane says:

    Slow news day?

  12. Shannon says:

I don’t even know what to think about her pink pants/boots thing she’s wearing, except I hate it. She does have a good figure and she annoys me least of all the Kardashians, but seriously – trace amounts? How does one even monitor that? That sounds like, autopsy talk and is actually kind of creepy.

  13. Lexter says:

I am coeliac and wouldn’t really recommend a gf diet unless necessary healthwise. You need healthy grains and being totally gf makes it a bit hard. Eating gf versions of regular food is NOT HEALTHIER… so much more sugar, salt, chemicals, processing to get something edible, all to avoid a protein that isn’t an issue for most of the population??? Nup.
