I’ve never been a Mandy Moore fan, but I’ve never disliked her either. So this is coming from someone with only a mild, passing interest in Mandy: she needs to always have her hair this dark. She looks amazing with this rich brunette shade. She also understands that she can and should wear different colors when her hair is this dark. Take this deep bronze Rodarte, which was a custom job by the fashion house: if she was blonde or even a honey-caramel brunette, this would not have worked. But it really did work – she looked fantastic, and this was one of my favorite looks of the Emmys.
Also one of my faves? Evan Rachel Wood. She’s always one of my faves though – she’s so beautiful and regal looking, and chica can wear the f–k out of a structured jacket or anything menswear-inspired. This Altuzarra look is a long, structured jacket with a train down to floor, and I think the bottom part is a pair of wide-legged trousers? It’s dark and wintery and beautiful. Her blue ribbon – some people were wearing them at the Emmys – was to support the reunification of families at the border, after the Trump administration threw children into cages. ERW also brought Amanda Nguyen as her date – Nguyen is the founder of Rise.

Oooh Mandy looks good! The hair is gorgeous and that dress is so beautiful. I feel like her look can get a little frumpy/spinster so I’m loving this more ‘sexy’ style of gown.
Can’t knock Evan for anything. She looks regal.
I really like both of them, honestly. At first I wasn’t sure about the bottom of the sequin dress but the more I look at it, the more I love that it flares out. Just a more modern, less Vegas-y silhouette than your typical sequin dress.
I didn’t recognize ERW at first. She looks incredibly beautiful and I love the combo of the loose hair with flowers and the long dark, perfectly tailored suit-dress. Her makeup is perfection, too: love the dramatic lip on her porcelain skin. Just a beautiful look on her.
I love both looks. Mandy is gorgeous with that hair color and ERW is simply stunning
Both looks are fantastic.
I think Mandy looks beautiful…I think her hair would REALLY pop with some lighter tones through it…her dress…the top fit and cut…PERFECTION…the cling to her hips…AWE INSPIRING…My only issue is towards the bottom…to me..it could have used a fuller cut of fabric…and been just a tad bit longer….
Now…Gawdess ERW….when Yves St Laurent did the tuxedo for women decades ago (I’m sure he got the idea after watching an old b/w movie of Marlene Dietrich…but I digress)…THIS is what he ALWAYS went for…It’s the LINES….make sure they are LONG…AND UNINTERRUPTED…that they FLOW across the body…in a way that the SUIT becomes the form…not even your body!!!! And pay close attention to the bottom of her pants…if you are doing that modern full shape…make SURE…that it is tailored where there are NO BREAKS at the bottom…and that the length is PERFECT…(Issa/Meghan) as is illustrated here!!!!
Neither of these are my favorite looks. I wish Mandy’s dress had been either longer or a bit shorter but the length is throwing me… it’s like highwaters, but for a dress. Evan’s just a bit too dark for my taste.
I thought the same about Mandys dress, the length is wierd.
Love both of these looks!
Evan’s look is so gorgeous.
I love the contrast between the sleek lines of the dark suit and the romantic hair.
Matching lips and nails- nice touch and love that she didn’t wear a necklace but went for multiple rings instead. And I have massive clutch envy.
She’s basically tailored and accessorised to perfection. Simple and stunning.
Mandy Moore looks the best I’ve ever seen her in that dress. Gorgeous.
Funny you put these two together because these two plus Thandie (don’t yell at me, the pepto pink worked on her but for no one else ever!) were my three faves of the night. Such beauties, inside and out. And such great non-basic styling for all three. Love!
I love all three looks and especially Thandie’s pink dress, which was my favorite!
Wow, 2 of the best looks of the night.
