Noah Centineo asks his fans to not stalk him anymore

Some of you probably read this headline and thought to yourself, “who?” But I’ll also hazard a guess that a good number of you happy-gasped when you saw the name Noah Centineo. For those of you in the former category, Noah is the 23 year-old romantic lead in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and Sierra Burgess is a Loser, both on Netflix. Prior to that, Noah was best known for his role on The Fosters. I’d never heard of him before TATBILB but, like many others, I developed an instant crush on him (he’s the good one in TATBILB, btw, not the other guy who had to scrub his Twitter due to questionable tweets). Noah’s Peter is just perfectly rom-comey – it’s hard not to fall for him. He’s a darling successor to Mark Ruffalo in voice, attitude, humor and even floppy hair.

Jimmy Kimmel booked Noah after Jimmy’s niece begged him to (must be nice, kid). Jimmy was surprised by Noah’s rapidly-multiplying following on social media and Noah admitted he wasn’t just being followed online. At the 2:55 mark, Noah told a story about when a small group of fans was waiting for him in baggage claim at JFK Airport after tracking down his travel itinerary. They then followed him out to his car.

To recap briefly for those who can’t watch the video, Noah was in baggage claim with headphones on when four girls appeared and engaged him in conversation. After they asked about his flight, he asked about theirs (such manners, Baby Ruffalo has!) The fans informed him they hadn’t flown anywhere, they were solely there to meet him. And I know Noah is trying to let them off the hook by saying they followed him to his car because they’d parked in the same place as the driver, but they probably parked there because they knew that’s where his car was. So all of that is weird enough but then they show up at JFK again when he’s flying out? That’s creepy. And no, I don’t think they were there to apologize, they were there to stalk him. It freaks me out that these fans have such access to these celebrities, knowing flight information and when and where they will be at any given time. And just like that, my feeling for Noah has gone from a crush to maternal. Oh well, I still have the O.R. (Original Ruffalo).

The second part of his segment had a pre-recorded bit in which Noah wore a disguise to trick his fans waiting outside Jimmy’s studio. He fooled absolutely no one because the disguise was terrible. It’s cute, but you can see how it’s not a big leap to go from these ‘fans’ to the airport ‘fanatics.’

Middle age woman here who loved TATBILB mainly because the chemistry between the 2 leads is perfection. I’ve watched it like 5 times! Sierra B didn’t have much going for it, was problematic, and frankly Shannon Purser deserved better.

As for Noah, I have no idea if he can actually act, but he does ooze a certain charisma that could get him a super hero or action role when he’s done with rom coms. He must be fielding a lot of calls right now and he’s right to make the most of “his moment”.

    • BaBaDook says:

Poor Shannon Purser – she deserved WAY better.

I loved it as well. Asian woman here and would have loved to have this when I was growing up, to see an Asian lead in a romantic comedy. But yes I have watched it several times! Where in the 80s it was Jake Ryan, now there is an equivalent Peter Kavinsky.

      • Parigo says:

Yes, so many studios wanted to whitewash this so good on the author for selling to a production company who promised not to. Lana Condor is freakin’ adorable and I think she has range as an actress…I hope she has a great career filled with roles not just earmarked for Asians.

I love it whenever other people can also see the Ruffalo likeness!! It does suck that this has started to happen to him, though. No matter how lovely and enchanting he is, there’s always a limit.

Are this child’s 15 minutes not up yet?

    • Steph says:

      I hope not!

    • Myriam says:

Jeez. What did he do to you?

    • Holly says:

You don’t seem to understand the phrase so maybe don’t use it anymore. He’s an actor, was recently in a hit movie, which would warrant him press and attention.

Rather than say, a reality star for their antics which have nothing to do with work.

      • GreenQueen says:

Right??? Peter is iconic, in the way Gosling was in The Notebook. He is the new standard, the dream guy you compare everyone else to. Something big happened with this movie, I hope it becomes like a movement because we need more of this. Asian leads, dynamic characters, I’m loving all of it! And Aidan is the best dad, I love how he approaches LJ’s “sexual health” chat 😂

      • Parigo says:

The Gosling comparison is a good one. Peter in TATGILB is iconic like Noah in the Notebook was and both became the Internet’s boyfriend (hey, girl!). But Ryan had already been in some serious roles and proved he had acting chops. Noah C, we shall see…

  4. BaBaDook says:

Oh, I totally missed that story about the other guy from this movie – probably because I hadn’t watched TATGILB yet. What a little weasel that guy is – I’m enjoying that he’s being ignored and having to watch all the Centineomania (creepy as it is).

    Who???

I am absolutely obsessed with TATBILB!!! Just this last weekend my sister finally watched it and re-watched the next day because she fell in love too! In total I have now seen it 6 times and I plan on watching it again today because everything about that movie is perfection. Josh reminds me of what’s his butt from Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (he has the same mouth and it’s hot even though he is problematic in real life). Then there is Peter….SWOON!!!! Omg if only there was a Peter when I was in high school!! He is just handsome and charming and witty and sensitive and endearing and UGH I’m in love. My husband thinks I’m acting like a giddy tween and I probably am but it’s just a perfect movie. Everything was awesome – the characters, the music, Portland (I’m a Seattle girl so I loved that it was set in the NW!), and the outfits were straight from the 90s and Lara Jean dresses a lot like an edgier version of Cher Horowitz which is a nod to one of my favorite movies of all time! No wonder I’m fangirling all over this.

Also, I get why Noah is freaked out by the stalking but heck if I had had the kind of access to info that these girls do when I was younger I totes would have stalked *NSYNC when I was 12.

  7. Biggles says:

Ohhh he’s so beautiful. More Mini Mark Ruffalo! Loved TATBILB the first, second and third time I watched it – Noah and Lana are so charismatic together, it was so much fun.

  8. bonobochick says:

in his case, it’s not just fans… so many celebrity media sites have been doing too much about him too so it encourages them that being that thirsty and obsessive is ok.

  9. anon says:

love this article. it explains why i love TLTBILB/Peter Kavinski much better than i could. https://mashable.com/article/peter-kavinsky-perfect-boyfriend/#80pKPPksFSq6

  10. Ferdinand says:

He’s adorable, his charm goes to the moon and back.
A little gossip info: He was a victim of the fappening as soon as he became an instant sensation. Lucky for him, it hasn’t affected him that much.

  11. Brian Brown says:

You guys, he’s just ok. Y’all are trippin.
