Amy Schumer is pregnant & she’s ‘almost positive’ that her husband is the father

Aw, I’m actually happy for Amy Schumer, you guys. Amy posted the above Instagram, spoofing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Australian tour photos, complete with baby-bump cradling. She then sent people to Jessica Yellin’s IG, where Yellin used the moment to identify which midterm races we should be focused on, and then added at the bottom of the post “I’m pregnant – Amy Schumer”:

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes … Amy Schumer and her husband Chris Fischer are expecting their first child together, she had friend Jessica Yellin of News Not Noise announce via Instagram Stories on Monday.

“I wanted to share some news from our community, maybe it’s noise but it’s happy noise,” Yellin said. “So I’m not in the business of making voting recommendations, but these are the recommendations of Amy Schumer, one of the most consistent and earliest supporters of News Not Noise. Now read all the way to the bottom, you’ll see there’s some news down there. Congratulations, Amy.”

At the end of a list of Schumer’s recommended congressional and gubernatorial candidates was simply the line: “I’m pregnant-Amy Schumer.”

[From People]

There were rumors that Amy was knocked up at her February wedding in Malibu, mostly because of the suddenness of the courtship and wedding. But I still believe that Amy wanted to tie the knot so quickly because her father is in ill health, and she wanted her dad to be at her wedding.

Amy ended up giving a more thorough pregnancy confirmation to the LA Times, saying: “Chris and I are thrilled and almost positive he’s the father. I look forward to competing with Markle every step of the way.” LOL. This just reminds me of how Kim Kardashian and the Duchess of Cambridge were both pregnant at the same time (with North and George respectively) too. I enjoy pregnancy-twinsies. And yes, it’s very cool that Amy and Meghan are both pregnant after their whirlwind courtships and marriages. Also: this means that Amy was pregnant when she got arrested at the Hart Senate building protests during the Kavanaugh confirmation. Good for her.

    Congratulations and GOTV!

Regardless of her political stance I still don’t like her. Her disregard for black women and their concerns in the past say so much. The fact that sge still hasn’t apologized for them says even more.

Happy and healthy pregnancy to her.

I don’t care for her and find her terribly unfunny.

      • L84Tea says:

Same. I don’t care one bit for her. There is something about her that rubs me the wrong way.

      • Tanesha86 says:

Bingo @Dietcokehead. People have been falling all over themselves praising her for doing the right thing like she didn’t say all those horrible things before and try to write it off as “just jokes”. I didn’t forget, she didn’t apologize, she still annoys me to no end. I hope she has a healthy pregnancy but other than that f*ck her 🤷🏾‍♀️.

I can’t with her. It’s good that she usws2 hwr influence for positive, but shes in the Lena Dunham camp of douchbag attention seeker.

    • Lana says:

      Hard disagree.

She has actually grown and learned and is a strong, strong ally for all minority communities. I have mad respect for Schumer. I am all about getting people to learn and care and fight for civil rights. She’s invited to my cookout, fwiw.

“I used to date Hispanic guys, but now I prefer consensual.” – Amy Schumer

    • Coz' says:

I totally agree with Lana. If we don’t believe people can change and learn from their mistakes, there is really no hope left.

      • Tanesha86 says:

No one has to forgive her or give her the benefit of the doubt, she’s done nothing to deserve either imo.

      • Nikki says:

No one HAS to, but Shakespeare said, “The quality of mercy is not strained; it droppeth like the gentle rain from Heaven upon the place beneath. It is twice blessed; it blesseth him who gives, and him who takes..” (Thanks Mrs. Speedwell, best English teacher EVER.) I’m a firm believer in second chances, especially in this day and age, when people come to fame suddenly, and their mistakes stay on the internet forever.

      • Tanesha86 says:

@Nikki are you kidding me? Her behavior wasn’t a mere mistake, it was her being racist no matter how you try to spin it and she should be held accountable. The only way she’d be deserving of a second chance in my eyes is if she actually acknowledged what she did was wrong and made a sincere apology. Anything less is just sweeping things under the rug.

I don’t like her, but I do support the help out of how she carries herself politically.
Plus I used to love the early seasons of her show. And babies make the world go round, so congrats! And she’ll be really cute pregnant

  4. KLO says:

I`m so happy for her. I felt like she used to seem so lost and lonely a couple years ago. Glad she`s found happiness. Her husband is a pretty good catch too.

  5. HelloSunshine says:

I really dislike her but respect what she does politically. Am I allowed to feel like that? It feels weird to dislike someone when their doing something I really do respect.

Congrats to them.. I’m still only excited I’m due around the same time as Meghan Markle though 😂

  6. minx says:

    Congrats, that’s nice news.

  7. Laura says:

I love Amy ❤ I think she’s hilarious 😂 Congrats to her and her baby daddy (?…LOL) 😉

  8. Tayspilled says:

I get humor is subjective but I have always found her funny and some of her skits are fairly brilliant like the 12 Angry Men episode (credit to her writers too here I’m sure). I don’t know what exactly she has done that people dislike, but echoing the other sentiments is you have to allow people to grow if they act accountable and apologize. More importantly she is using her voice to fight oppression now.

    • Tanesha86 says:

She made “jokes” about black and Latino men being rapists, called Latina women crazy and fed into all these horrible racist stereotypes which is absolutely disgusting and indefensible. Also, she NEVER apologized, in fact she doubled down on her comments and was gaslighting the people who called her out on her racist BS. I don’t give a flying fig if she’s using her voice to fight oppression now, I don’t want or need white women like her to speak for me. She’s not funny, she’s just an a**hole.

It was even funnier when Blake Lively did it first
