Gerard Butler pulls a gun on Jennifer Aniston (for a film)

Gerard Butler

Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston have been photographed extensively through the film shoot for Bounty Hunter (which might be renamed The Bounty). It seems a lot of the film shoot is made up of exteriors around Queens and Atlantic City – although there was a rumor Butler and Aniston were filming inside one of Trump’s casinos, which just means this film is extra classy. We’ve already seen some nice photos of the two of them in a blue convertible, but this new batch might be my favorite. Gerard Butler has pulled a gun on Aniston, and then they look like they’re arguing and then maybe he’s reconsidering the urge to shoot her.

For a quick update, this film has a similar sort of plot as Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Butler and Aniston are playing ex-spouses, and something happens and Butler’s character has to track down or kill Aniston’s character. Something like that. It’s supposed to be comedy-action, and from the overturned trucks, I guess they filmed some kind of car chase or something earlier in the day.

Sidenote: Hell is about freeze over, because I’m going to give Jennifer Aniston credit for something. In most of the paparazzi photos I’ve seen from this film shoot, she’s been wearing the same two basic outfits, and her hair has looked awful. This is absolutely thrilling because it shows that the film isn’t some sort of Aniston vehicle that just shows her off in cute outfits and perfectly tousled hair. Nice work, Jennifer. This is what it’s like to make a movie where you’re not playing just another picture-perfect version of Rachel Green.

I don’t care what the Brangeloonies say but I like Aniston. I think people need to relax Jen and Angie are fine women give them a break. Brad is the tool and not enough people say it.

  2. Rosalee says:

Gee Kaiser, are you going to compare every movie in which a gun is pulled to Mr. and Mrs. Smith? or just the ones with Jennifer Aniston. Frankly you should read the article in which explains how the Brange and Aniston have saved the tabs by the constant publication speculation on the unholy triangle. I hope any reasonable individual would take any story published regarding the three or individually with a massive grain of salt.

Why am I getting a bad case of déja-vu? Oh, right. I saw this all before in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Only I think Brad and Angie did it better than these two.

MAMS was a fundamentally silly movie with a ridiculous plot that was only saved by the explosive chemistry between the two co-stars. This one sounds like it doesn’t even have that going for it.

Maybe she should just stick to doing theme and variation on Rachel Greene. She can do that in her sleep.

  4. Laura says:

Wow, the very definition of a backhanded compliment! I doubt hell will freeze over for that…

  5. Loser1 says:

MAMS has to be one of the worst movies! This one has to be better. Stop hating on Jen already, its SOOOO old.

  6. DD says:

I think cheyenne is ned’s arch nemesis. It would be fun to watch them duel it out with their arsenal “facts” and rational observations.

  7. Cheyenne says:

Loser1: MAMS has to be one of the worst movies! This one has to be better.

I’m sure this one will be a great success. Almost as successful as Management.

  8. not so fast says:

If Jen was really taking care of Brad he wouldn’t have looked anywhere else.

  9. Codzilla says:

DD: LOL, except you forgot to also put quotes around “rational.” Those two are consumed by far too much rage against their respective celebrity targets to make any reasonable arguments.

  10. cee says:

Gerard Butler looks fat and scruffy. Jen looks like Jen. I think straight to DVD.

  11. jabberingaway says:

Question: is this the same actress who played the mom in the movies, Marley and Me and He’s Just Not Into You?
Answer: yes, it is the same actress.
Clue: J.A. looks the same in all of her movie roles.
Sidenote: she looks the same in real life too.

  12. DD says:

Codzilla: yes, I was typing too fast. I forgot “of” in between “arsenal” and “facts” and definitely forgot to emphasize rational with quotes 🙂
I’d almost say that ned and cheyenne are being paid to defend their respective celebrity whilst smearing the other in the triangle but I know better. I’m wondering though if Brad has any staunch celebitchy defenders / defamers, I think he needs one to make this celebitchy poster triangle complete.

  13. HashBrowns says:

@Jabberingaway: Um…Jennifer Aniston didn’t play a mom in He’s Just Not That Into You. And actually didn’t really play a mom in Marley and Me either (I know that and I haven’t seen the film).

If you are going to attack someone, can you at least do it with some accuracy? Jeez.

  14. coocooknockers says:

She is boring. He is so not hot. moving on.

  15. Laura says:

As opposed to Jolie who ALWAYS plays some version of gun-wielding spy/assassin?

    Please.

  16. Laura says:

    @ Jane

I agree with you. I have now been finding myself skipping over posts written by “Kai” if they have anything to do with the Brange or Aniston. I can’t take so much under-handed snarkiness.

  17. yadira says:

He is so hot from the neck down. Would have to cover the face with a pillow 😉

  18. geronimo says:

M&MS was an embarrassment, up there in my top ten worst movies ever. Although I don’t think Bounty Hunter is likely to trouble the Oscars, it has to do very little to be better than M&MS.

DD – interesting. I don’t think Brad, in isolation, really has any fans. He’s kind of an afterthought, only exists to prop up his corner of the triangle. Or maybe that’s just me. 😉

  19. Lilou says:

    Laura,

    Know your stuff before talking…

Yeah Angelina is totally a spy in The Changeling. She is also an assassin in A Mighty Heart…

What abour Beowolf? Kung Fu Panda? The Good Shepard? Alexander? Taking lives? The Bone Collector? And I forget many other movies…

If you think she has only played in Lara Croft, M & Ms Smith and Wanted, then, you should check something called IMDB…

  20. Ursula says:

The movie looks good. I will watch it. Never did finish Mr and Mrs Smith. Did it even have a plot? The hype around the bermuda triangle helped it a lot.

  21. jabberingaway says:

hashbrowns: although i do like mine crispy, please don’t get so burned up.
i am not attacking Ms A just throwing out a fact. can we not agree that JA looks like Rachael from friends in all her movies?

  22. Nev says:

“Brad don’t have any fans” WOW Geronimo how did you make your fingers type that? I’m just guessing here but-I think Brad has a mega load of fans they just don’t set up a nest here like Jen fans do because she seem to need a boat load of help for any of her movies. I tend to believe Brad fans get out and enjoy life to the fullest not sit around and grip about a 5 year old divorce.
I think Brad fans show up where it counts-the box office on premiere night. I’m not a really big Brad fan but to me his movies seem to very much in demand no.

  23. PJ says:

For those of you who haven’t seen the movie, Jennifer played a mom in “Marley & Me.”

Geronimo, my sense is that Brad has a huge fan base. If not, at least the media loves him. Until she hooked up with Brad, Angelina Jolie wasn’t a big enough star to make the cover of People magazine. Now she’s the papparazzi queen and her career really took off too. I don’t know what the media interest in her would be if she was on her own again.

In the media, you can’t read anything about JA or AJ without Brad being mentioned: Brad’s ex, Brad’s partner. Maybe it’s just sexism–the woman is still a subset of the man in her life. Or maybe the media views Brad as the “more important” star.

  24. geronimo says:

Nev & PJ – 🙂 I was being a bit tongue in cheek above, just having a little bit of fun at his expense and the tiny part he plays in any of the ‘triangle’ threads on here!

I do actually realise he has fans. I’m even one of them from time to time, dependant on the movie. All good. 😎

  25. Laura says:

    @ Lilou

Sorry, 2 of your examples are animations. I don’t count those. And PLEASE tell me you are not citing Alexander. I thought you were trying to defend her.

The reason why I said she always plays a spy is because everyone ALWAYS goes on and on about how Jennifer plays the same person. So does AJ.

Tomb Radier, Taking Lives, M&MS, Wanted, the upcoming SALT and the Untitled Kathi Lynn Austin Project which hasn’t started filming which is based on a …..wait for it…..a U.N. Spy!!!!!

    ::blank stare::

Yes, she has done Mighty Heart and Changeling but I am so tired of people conveniently forgetting that she carries guns, pouts her lips and shoots in a majority of the movies she does. And then JA haters say Aniston didn’t do much in The Good Girl.

Give me a break. The formula of rom coms works for Aniston. And the formula of spy/assassin works for AJ. The end.

  26. HashBrowns says:

I stand corrected then-I haven’t seen Marley and Me so I didn’t know that she plays a mom. But she definitely does not play one in He’s Just Not That Into You.

And no, I don’t think she looks like Rachel in all of her movies. I think she looks like Jennifer Aniston in all of her movies. She has a distinctive look that works for her and works for the films she likes to make and works for the studios which hire her.

People forget that above all she’s a comedic actress. Generally what comedic actresses do are romantic comedies or just straight comedies.

She isn’t some dramatic Shakespearean actress from the Royal Academy for the Dramatic Arts and that’s okay. She has her niche. Let her hang out in it without being demonized for it.

Edit: I’d also like to mention that almost all actors look pretty much like themselves in movies where they play normal people. Matthew McConaughey looks exactly the same in pretty much every movie he’s ever done. Julia Roberts looks like Julia Roberts in every movie she’s done-except Erin Brockovich. Cameron Diaz, Anne Hathaway, Katherine Heigl, Kate Hudson. No, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal that an actress is recognizable in her part.

  27. kim says:

AJ played a cop in Taking Lives.

  28. actors suck! says:

Hasbrowns, you obviously don’t know much about movies. A lot of the actors you have mentioned have done many different roles where they tried new character types and even accents. Julia Roberts did Steel Magnolias and Mary Reilly. Cameron Diaz played against type in several films including Being John Malkovich. Anne Hathaway just pulled in a Oscar nomination for Rachel Getting Married.

Aniston is a one-note monkey and not that great of a comedic actress either. I’d say her appeal is that people are not that threatened by her unlike Heigl, Hudson, and the others. The whole fake sweetheart image makes crazy people think they actually know her as a person.

As for movies, she’s more of a sidekick–more of a reactor than an actor. She tried to play against type in Derailed (the femme fatale) but that was laughable. She seems to think that dying her hair is all she needs to be another character. That’s the sign of a bad actress. Her ambitions to be a great actress are definitely over-reaching given her limited skills and unwillingness to put real work and effort in crafting a unique persona.

    ================================

And in “Bone Collector” one of my favorite movies. I’m a junkie for movies that makes you have to think. That’s why I can’t stand Rom-Com movies with the exeption of the ones with certain actresses. Namely Rene Z. Sandra Bullock (who also plays well in dramatic roles), and Cameron Diaz.

P.S., “When Harry Met Sally” is one of the best movie, let alone a Rom-Com movie, ever!!

  30. HashBrowns says:

@actorssuck: I don’t know a lot about some things but I know a lot about movies and the movie industry as I grew up in and around it.

I knew someone was going to mention that the other actresses had done other things-which is true. All actors try out a number of different things in their careers. Sometimes they are successful and sometimes they fail.

Aniston did a lovely job in The Good Girl (which Aniston haters love to forget to mention or love to drag down even though it was a good movie just to say something bad about her) and she was completely out of her comfort zone and had different hair and a different accent.

Anne Hathaway tried to branch out with a movie called Havoc (remember that? No?) which basically went straight to dvd before she got Rachel Getting Married. The first time she played against type, she was “laughable”.

Julia Roberts is a great actress in general-she can do everything but early in her career she kept to the romantic comedy formula that was really popular at the time.

Cameron Diaz plays the same ecstatic, jumpy weirdo in every movie she’s been in that I can remember. Sure, she was in Being John Malkovich but how many movies has she been in where she plays a jumpy, hyper, “cute” girl? And now she’s in a should-be-on-the-Lifetime-channel Cancer Cryfest.

No one is threatened by the slightly heavier Heigl or squinty McNoBoobs Hudson, that is why they are so popular. They are more “normal” looking in the sense that neither of them have the “perfect Hollywood” look or figure.

I don’t think she wants to be some “great actress” either. Judging from her film choices, she seems to be happy doing comedies and just being known for that. And I don’t see anything wrong with that. Some people might, but in my personal opinion, she’s fine where she is.

  31. p3rp3tu4 says:

I agree JA hasn’t changed her look in ages & is DUE for a seriously fun sporty edgy type makeover! Locks OFF & new Color! please do something NEW

Love Gerard… Not sure why he has mediocre femmes in his movies… except the one Guy Ritchie RocknRolla 🙂

  32. whatever says:

HASH, calling Hiegl “heavier” and Hudson “squinty MCnoboobs” shows a very MEAN streak. Obviously, you are threatened enough by them to think up nasty things like that to say. You sound like a school bully. Oh wait, isn’t that what you accuse people of when they say something negative about ANISTON? Hypocrite much? Geez, you really are unbelieveable.

  33. HashBrowns says:

@whatever: Wow. You’ve really hurt my feelings. *rolling eyes*

Anyway, those were jokes-I don’t like Heigl for personal reasons i.e. I’ve had personal interactions with her and at that time she was a horrible person to me so saying she’s a little heavier (which is the truth, unlike people saying Jennifer Aniston’s skin is “leathery”) is on the nicer side of what I could say about her.

Kate Hudson has really really small boobs. That is another truth. I’m not being mean, I’m making a joke about something that is a truth about her.

And I said they don’t have perfect Hollywood bodies. That does not in any way indicate that I think they shouldn’t be actors at all. How you deduced that is a mystery to me…maybe because you are just trying to make something up so that you could call me a hypocrite. Sorry, that is not gonna happen.

And by the way, I will not apologize for having a job that allows me the freedom to do a lot of random fun stuff during the day. Sorry that your job doesn’t afford you that.
