Rickshaws & romance: Jennifer Aniston & Gerard Butler film ‘Bounty Hunter’

These are some nice, funny pictures of Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston filming some exterior scenes for their movie Bounty Hunter in Atlantic City. Is it just me, or does it seem like the same car from Thelma & Louise? The exteriors look like the beginning of Thelma & Louise too – weird.

Most of the set pictures are now of Aniston, after we got some lovely pictures of Gerard the past few weeks. Before Aniston started filming Gerry was seen in a series of lovely white and blue shirts that accentuated his delicious arms. Gerry was even joking around with the paparazzi in between shooting his scenes – thus the unfortunate (but hilarious) revelation that Gerry might have romanced poultry in his youth.

Before filming started, there were some rumors that Bounty Hunter was just a tepid version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. But after looking at these pictures of Aniston and Gerry, I suspect Bounty Hunter will have more of comedic flavor – take, for example, those pictures of Aniston pulling a rickshaw. Seriously?

I’m sure there will be rumors of a romance between Aniston and Butler – in fact, those rumors already started and stopped a few months ago when they were allegedly hooking up in New York. But they will begin anew as we get more pictures of them working together. So what of Aniston’s “new romance” with Bradley Cooper? Will there be a new uncool Bermuda triangle? I sincerely hope Aniston sticks to her thing with Bradley – who just claimed yesterday that they were “just friends” – and that Aniston stays off my boyfriend Gerard Butler. To be fair to Aniston – I don’t like it when he’s with any woman. I’m starting to think he might have bad taste in women. Which gives me hope.

so this a comedy/action type of movie, anyone knows when it comes it, i see anyway for Gerry, i mean for crying out loud i saw ps i love 🙂

  2. dale says:

hmmmm mr. & mrs. smith 2.0? i doubt it.
if it is then i guess i should say at least with this one, there won’t be adultery involved behind the scenes. just saying.

  3. bros says:

shots of jen trying to ‘act.’ hilarious. and ps, of course it will have a more comedic character because this is all she is capable of.

  4. selma says:

@bros shots of you writing this up and think you are funny makes me want to laugh at you not with you

jen do your thing and don’t let the haters bother you

why is it that jen has to change things up with her hair when there are a lot of actresses out there with the same here every movie for example sandra bullock

    Live your life and enjoy

  5. wow says:

That opening picture of her “crying” is just wroooong. Lol. But I like the pic of her beaming up at Gerard from the car. That’s cute.

But I do wish she would do something about that hair. I’m not sayng go all crazy like Kate Gosselin (although I don’t find Kate’s all that bad as some). But Jen should mix it up a bit. She’s had the same boring hairstyle for ions.

Love ya Jenn – but new the ‘do.

  6. bros says:

selma, thoughts of you crying out to jen to do her thing and giving her advice as if she is reading your comments or listening to you make me want to laugh at you too.

  7. Tia C says:

That is definitely not a 1966 Thunderbird (the car from Thelma and Louise). It is a early-mid ’70s Buick or something. It’s hard to see the insignia, so it’s hard for me to tell in those photos. But that is for sure a ’70s car, and not a T-bird.

  8. Kaiser says:

Bros – I didn’t want to say it, but those “Rachel Green is fake crying” pics cracked me up too. I really hope that she was supposed to be funny and not “dramatic” in that scene.

  9. HashBrowns says:

I think she looks adorable smiling up at Gerard from the car.

I just don’t understand the cruelty that is put toward this woman…so she has the same hairstyle. So what? She goes with what works and what she likes. She found a style that suits her looks good and is timeless-not some trendy nonsense that’ll wear out in a year.

And I would define her as more of a character actress than anything else. There are people in this world who make entire careers out of playing essentially the same person (aka That Guy! or That Lady!) and she just happened to get famous playing her character. John C. Reilly jumps to mind as a character actor…ain’t nothing wrong with working.

  10. bros says:

OMG john C reilly? you mean oft-nominated for awards of all kinds john c reilly who has acted in a wide variety of films and roles, and his oscar nomination was in a musical? that john c reilly is being compared to one-note aniston as a character actor?

  11. HashBrowns says:

@bros: Yes, John C Reilly who for the longest time BEFORE he was nominated for an Oscar played the bumbling slightly comedic friend in every film he was in.

Now I don’t claim to know a lot about anything but I know a lot about actors and the film business since I’ve been around it a lot since I was a kid. John C Reilly was the first to pop into my head because I’ve heard him referred to as that by a lot of industry people.

Another one who was nominated for an Oscar is James Cromwell. Brilliant character actor.

You can win and be nominated for being a character actor. You don’t have to be the *STAR* or playing something against type to win an Oscar.

There are a lot more male character actors as well but another female is Kathy Bates. She plays strong, sturdy women in pretty much everything she’s in. She’s won and been nominated for Oscars as well.

  12. geronimo says:

OMG Hashbrowns. Please stop! Comparisons with John C Reilly and now Kathy Bates!?! In which parallel universe is Aniston a character actor?? I’m totally indifferent to her, feel a bit sorry for her at times because of all the crap that follows her around, but a good versatile character actress she is not. She has no range whatsoever. But she’s managed to make a damn good living out of it, that I’ll give her.

  13. diddy says:

i wonder why i dont see people having a fit about adam sandler , jim carrey or ben stiller playing the same role in every movie? but you know what this men arent stupid for doing that, because they makes shit loads of money playing these characters even more than some people we seem to call dramatic actors so why should they change it; maybe looking to win an oscar isnt a main

But women like drew brarrymoore , kate hudson, jennifer aniston, cameron diaz, sandra bullock e.tc who all play comedy romcom characters most of the time(i know they also have dramatic roles ones in a while) get attacked for it….. this women make their big moneys in romcom ,so why should they change it?

just because this actors play comedy roles they are looked down on, isnt comedy one of the hardest thing because it isnt easy to make people laugh ; you have to have great comedic timing.

BTW it my understanding comdeies/romcom movies do much better at the box office, the critic may not love them all but the people that matters whom are the people the actors makes the film for which are members of the public , go out in droves for comedies and romcom….
And at the end of the day its the money and profits that matters to the studios, which is why this actors and actress obove would continue to get roles

  14. stacy says:

does anyone ever read the stephanie plum series by janet evanovich. its about a bounty hunter that is quirky and funny and has the worst luck, but she always gets really hot guys. she even drives a powder blue buick sometimes. the series is 16 books long so far and they are awesome reads. really funny and light hearted. this could turn out to be a really cute movie! i’m excited!

  15. Praise St. Angie! says:

geronimo, I gotta disagree with you about her range. or, at least, point out that some critics disagree with you… 🙂

thought I didn’t see either movie, critics said that Aniston did good dramatic work in both “the Good Girl” and “Derailed”.

IMO, she does do well in romcoms…that’s her strength, and there’s nothing wrong with an actor or actress recognizing what they’re good at and sticking with it for a career.

diddy mentioned a few other women in this same situation…those actresses know what they’re good at and have made lots of money doing it.

and yes, I’m going to go there…Jolie is another example of sticking to what you’re good at. I don’t think she’s a GREAT actress, but she does OK in dramatic or action/vixen roles…and that’s what she sticks to. should she be crucified for not doing a comedic role? no, because I really doubt she’d be convincing as any character that Aniston did; ditto on Aniston trying to play any character that Jolie did.

    different actresses, different strengths.

  16. geronimo says:

@Praise St Angie – ok, I’ll give you limited range then, rather than no range. 😉

Speaking of those films, I’ve seen both and all I saw was a version of Rachel Greene. She was particularly miscast in Derailed (actually, pretty awful film all round, that one, so not just her.) Really, I don’t think JA’s a bad actress, there are just no surprises with her for me. Which is why comparisons with someone like Kathy Bates, who IS a true character actress, are just foolish.

Agree re AJ, I don’t see her as a particularly versatile actress either. I liked her earlier stuff much better than most of what she’s done recently. The hype has taken over and makes it almost impossible to see the actress beneath all the celebrity junk.

  17. Taradash says:

im jealous, gerard is just…just so cute

  18. BlueSkies says:

    She should never cry.

  19. Praise St. Angie! says:

“The hype has taken over and makes it almost impossible to see the actress beneath all the celebrity junk.”

HOLY CRAP this is SO true of so many actors/actresses!!!

  20. lrm says:

hey i watched he’s just not that into you…last night;it was not as horrible as I expected! of course, had i paid 10 bucks or more at the theater,i’d have been bummed….

anyway,i rather liked JA in that one.
True, not that different from her friends role, except a bit more dramatic/pretending her role was real life….

it’s true: she has no surprises.
    it’s also true: she’s funny.
yea,the frustrating part would be someone knowing what they are good at,but WANTING to branch out. [which she has been rumored to want]…Otherwise, stick w/your winning fx,like so many other actors [as mentioned above].
    She’s funny,though,IMO.
And I’m not a huge fan;I just appreciate comedic timing [though hers is not perfect;in fact,THAT is what she can do: perfect her comedic timing/skills-she could perhaps be considered a serious actor then. you know, steve martin, etc. Comedy in itself doesn’t have to be taken as a joke;yes, dare I say,it’s a ‘craft’ to be improved upon.]
    HEY,JA,YOU LISTENIN’?
    If so,work on your comedy!(:

  21. yikes says:

Eeek, she looks awful crying. She’s starting to look really puffy and wierd. I guess all that drinking is catching up to her.

  22. Kerry says:

I’m, sorry, but VERY few actresses/actors in Hollywood have range. Diaz is a terrible actress. Same giggly girl over and over. I’m convinced Kate Hudson’s oscar nomination was a fluke. I don’t care what anyone says, Angelina isn’t very good, either. I can’t imagine her having much of a career without that oddly exaggerated face of hers. It’s not a mistake that the same actresses/actor get casted in the same movies over and over. The nominations always go to actors/actresses who try different roles like Streep, Day-Lewis and Winslet. Does anyone know what they’re really like? But the money makers are always casted as character whom people believe are close to their real personalities: I’m looking at you Jim Carey, Kate Hudson, and Diaz. Not much difference between who you see on tv red carpet interviews and who you see on the big screens.

  23. Magsy says:

JA is getting sooo overexposed I’m so tired of seeing her face everywhere. Must her movies all be so similar.

  24. HashBrowns says:

Comparisons are foolish? Please. I never said she was the same “caliber” as Kathy Bates. I said Kathy Bates generally plays the same character as does Jennifer Aniston.

    Which is the truth.

  25. geronimo says:

“I said Kathy Bates generally plays the same character as does Jennifer Aniston.”

Wrong wrong wrong. I give you Misery, Fried Green Tomatoes, Dolores Claiborne, Primary Colours, About Schmidt – just to give a small example of Bates’ incredible versatility and range.

  26. HashBrowns says:

Those are your examples of Kathy Bates’ versatility? Really?

Alright then…I’m just going to leave it. No point in arguing over something where I’m just never going to see eye to eye with someone. I guess for her it’s just your particular point of view and I see similarities in all of those characters.

PS-Noticed you didn’t try to argue about John C Reilly-especially his early career-because you know I’m right about that.

  27. 2cents says:

“The hype has taken over and makes it almost impossible to see the actress beneath all the celebrity junk.”
    ————————————-
I so agree with this about Jen. I think they make a mistake always playing the phony pr games. I think she needs to step back for 1 or 2 years then come out with a new game. None of that pity stuff or my ex stuff. NO triangle junk. Come out as a strong women on her own. If she finds love in that time, then come out as a stronge sincere women in love her new man and heavens sake no more fake men.

  28. Sandy says:

No matter what, Gerry will make this
movie a HIT, like all his movies.
He is so gorgeous, talented, charismatic, intelligent, etc.
I will never miss a Gerry movie,
no matter who else is in it or what
the source material. He makes every
character he portrays so wonderful and
    believable.
Go Gerry, do your wonderful thing!
