Actually, Homeland Security raided a shady ‘car dealership’ owned by Josh Duggar?

Yesterday, we discussed the curious story about the Duggar Family’s Arkansas home/compound and whether it was raided by Homeland Security. A local Arkansas affiliate had gotten a seeming confirmation from a Homeland Security spokesperson that the Duggars’ home had been raided, but the Duggars’ released a statement saying that no, nothing like that had happened at all. Homeland Security came out and revised their statement: they had conducted a raid, but it was on a business associated with Josh Duggar.

On Wednesday, November 20, a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) spokesperson confirmed the agency was in Arkansas for a federal criminal investigation, but it was at a business associated with Josh Duggar and not a residence, as previously told to KNWA.

Agents went to a business at the 14000-block of Wildcat Creek Road, Springdale, Arkansas. “I do not dispute the information you’ve obtained. That is the location that we were. I can’t speak to the status of any ongoing investigation. But, I do not dispute that we were present at that specific address,” said HSI Spokesperson Bryan Cox. The spokesperson could also confirm, “…ongoing federal criminal investigation, however, given that there are no charges filed, HSI doesn’t discuss the nature of any type of investigation until, if or when, charges are filed. I can’t discuss the reason for our being there.”

KNWA asked HSI if Josh Duggar is part of the investigation. “I can’t speak to any individual that may be under investigation. So I can confirm that we were at that address. And spoke to individuals at that location. But I can’t discuss any individuals by name.”

KNWA asked if the Springdale visit by HSI at Wholesale Motorcars was a raid or a search.

“I’m not able to speak specifically, but in a general sense, when a federal law enforcement agency is at a location pursuant to an “ongoing federal investigation,” there is a very narrow set of circumstances that would apply, and I would say that our presence is consistent with that. I’m just not able to discuss the exact nature,” according to HSI’s spokesperson.

KNWA contacted the Washington County Collector’s Office and confirmed the address of a business listing, where HSI agents were present, was Wholesale Motorcars, 14969 Wildcat Creek Road, Springdale, Arkansas. As of 2019, this location has Josh Duggar listed as the contact for the business, but he is not listed as the property owner. According to Washington County Personal Property Records, the address listed for Joshua and Anna Duggar is the same as his parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, in Tontitown, Arkansas.

The seedier tabloids are doing some digging, and apparently this car dealership was always illegal – there was little in the way of business licensing and basically, it was like the family was illegally selling cars with little to no paper trail. Why is that a matter for Homeland Security? It could be a number of things, from tax fraud to regular fraud to selling stolen property to… maybe the “dealership” is a front for other illegal activity. So, the raid wasn’t as personal as I thought it was, but it still looks bad for the Duggars. Also: do Josh and Anna really live in the Duggar compound still? I thought they had their own home.

For HSI to be involved it has to be pretty serious sh!t above an illegal car dealership, isn’t that usually for local law enforcement or the Feds?

Am sure it won’t be long till he’s dragged off to some sort of christian healing ‘pray away the crime’ facility where his wife will get the blame for being too frigid.

    • Noodle says:

Absolutely. Homeland Security is a very different beast than the FBI or other LEAs. There has to be something bigger at play, or a suspicion of something bigger, at least.

  2. Mumbles says:

Lol I don’t think the federal law enforcement authorities will be too cool with “pray the crime away” in lieu of a prison sentence.

Remember when this piece of shite was a DC lobbyist for “Focus on the Family”? Shows what a bunch of hypocrites *they* are.

I read somewhere that he and his wife have some tweener female cousin living with them. I worry for that girl’s safety.

  3. Steph says:

Why isn’t he already im jail? Him molesting his minor sisters wasn’t just a rumour.

    • Tiffany says:

Because the cult leaders ( their parents) decided not to press charges.

    • Molly says:

Oh, I forgot about that. I knew he was the Ashley Maddison cheating guy, but the sister part was the worst. I hope he rots in hell.

    • olive says:

because michelle & jim bob never reported it to the police, they eventually had a state trooper buddy informally talk to josh (AND that state trooper is now in prison on child porn charges!!) but by the time the world found out the statute of limitations had expired. the duggars protected their son at the expense of their daughters.

    • Suzy S says:

His father didn’t go to tell the police what happened until the Statute of Limitations had run out. Instead they sent him to a friend to do construction work and get “counsel”… I doubt any of the girls received any real professional counselling about what happened. I also read that despite his stint with the friend, he was still molesting them when he came back. It happened more than once, and the youngest was only 5 years old.

  4. BeanieBean says:

Maybe the business is a front for human trafficking? Other crimes posited don’t seem to be the purview of Homeland Security.

  5. Heather says:

I’ve heard whispers on Duggar snark boards that this has to do with some really shady Christian “adoption agency”.

    • GG says:

My only issue with That theory is that they’ve already charged the guy in charge of the Marshall Islands adoption ring. I feel like they would have gotten Jim Boob / Josh at the same time.

  6. GG says:

If you really want to go down the rabbit hole with theories and information on this I would highly encourage you to check out the reddit thread r/DuggarSnark. Tin foil tiaras abound but some also really informative people who are deep diggers.
My guess is that there is some mishandled paperwork for the “dealership” but also in relation to MediCorp and their Bahamian trip. (Reports of commandeering supply rations and wearing badges and carrying weapons etc.)
Total conjecture, but there’s a theory that JimBob set Josh’s up to be his fall guy after everything happened with Ashley Madison.
I feel sorry for Anna because she’s had relatively no control over her life but I’m also mad at her for continuing to have children with him. They also have a relatives daughter living with them as a “mother’s helper” which feels really icky that her family would put their child in the presence of a sex pest. It would be a great end to 2019 of both Josh Duggar and prince Andrew were given the comeuppance they deserve (including but not limited to hard jail time!)

    • Abby says:

Okay I am Disturbed beyond measure that there is a vulnerable young girl acting as mother’s helper in Josh Duggar’s home?!?!?! What does it take for people to understand predators are predators?!??

      • olive says:

i don’t understand an 11 year old acting as a “mother’s helper.” she’s only a year or two older than josh & anna’s eldest, and when an 11 year old girl isn’t in school (of the dining room table), she should be being a kid, not helping to raise distant relatives. why can’t josh & anna’s own kids that are a similar age help with their own siblings? what happened to the buddy system? it feels ICKY

  7. olive says:

trafficking? either to rape young women or girls or for illegal labor?

  8. JustVisiting says:

I plugged the address into Google Maps and that’s the shadiest looking “car dealership” I’ve ever seen. In the middle of nowhere with a bunch of buildings set up like a compound and a handful of rusted cars.

  9. Texas says:

    I can’t stand this family.

  10. JanetFerber says:

    Slime, slime, slime.

  11. Bread and Circuses says:

I read about a study that found that employees who sexually harass colleagues are also more likely to commit fraud and to take credit for other people’s ideas. The common denominator is the person doesn’t respect property; it doesn’t matter if it’s someone else’s idea, or money, or flesh, if they want it, they try to take it.

So it’s already been established Josh Duggar will molest women who are vulnerable to him; if he fits the mold outlined in that study, it might imply he’d also be okay with financial skulduggery.

    (Also, religion doesn’t equal morals.)

  12. Alice says:

Josh and Anna are living in the guesthouse (which is essentially a windowless warehouse) with their 5/6 kids. They moved back after selling their house to Josh’s lawyer for $1 or something super sketchy like that. Some people thought he might be trying to hide assets to protect them from lawsuits after the Ashley Madison scandal or (more likely reason) to protect them from Anna if she left him.
