Prince William says the Cambridges spent their week off at a Welsh dairy farm

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit Newborough Beach

Okay, this is really, really funny to me and I need help!! All of last week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in the wind. No one knew where they were. The Cambridge kids had a week off from school, and it was widely expected that they would set off as a family to some ski resort of tropical island for a holiday. It was also expected that the Cambridges would be in the wind while all of those nasty stories about the Sussexes broke. Can’t have the Future King’s fingerprints all over another smear job, you know? So, where did the Cambridges set up their perfect alibi? A… dairy farm. Seriously?? William attended the Six Nations rugby match this weekend, and he apparently chatted with some people about how he and Kate and the kids spent the week on a Welsh farm.

Prince William has hailed Welsh dairy farmers as ‘seriously tough’ after he spent the week lambing with his family in Norfolk. Speaking in Cardiff ahead of this afternoon’s Six Nations clash against France, the Duke revealed how George revelled in the experience, Charlotte was initially hesitant, and Louis ‘loved the tractors’. The royal was pictured cheering with the crowds packed inside the Principality Stadium, where Les Blues sneaked a four-point win. Ahead of the match, William carried out his duties as patron of the Welsh Rugby Union and met with injured players such as Rhian Roberts, 34.

Mrs Roberts, a primary school teacher, told William she had married into a dairy family in West Wales. She has been supported by the trust after suffering damage to her neck during a tackle in March 2018.

‘We’ve been lambing with the children this week,’ William told Mrs Roberts, who played with club Y Piod Pinc for two seasons. ‘Charlotte wasn’t sure at first but George was straight in there. Louis loves the tractors. They love seeing the lambs and feeding the lambs. Dairy farming – you are all seriously tough.’

Mrs Roberts, who was meeting William for the first time, described him as ‘down to earth’ and said he took a real interest in farming. ‘We were talking about the land where he was and the land where we are, which is a mining area,’ she said. ‘He said they’ve been lambing this week up in Norfolk. They want the children to see the country way of life as well as the city way of life.’

[From The Daily Mail]

The Cambridges were not behind any smear over the past week, they swear! They were on a farm! They were feeding lambs! They did not have Farm WiFi! They were totally not on the phone to anyone, making sure that punitive steps were taken to remove the “royal” from the Sussexes’ branding. Never, ever, ever. In all honesty, whatever. Maybe it’s even true. Maybe Kate and Will and the kids frolicked with the farm animals all week and they had no idea what was happening.

I cant put my finger in it but there is something off about William.

    • Erin says:

He’s two, what seems “off” about him?

    • Tessa says:

      Something cruel about William.

      • sue denim says:

when I re-watched the video of H&M’s wedding recently, W’s sneering really startled me…a v ugly side of him, and for what, a show of exuberant love between his brother and his bride? something went wrong w him…

      • Digital Unicorn says:

I wouldn’t say cruel but there is def a nasty bitterness about him,

      • Leigh says:

I’m confused. Why are we attacking a baby?

      • Digital Unicorn says:

@leigh – we are not. Read the posts. But then again are you referencing the Big Bald Baby called Prince William.

      • notasugarhere says:

There are also photos of him looking at Meghan inappropriately, with Harry’s angry face in the background. One of the services last year in the UK, Remembrance or Commonwealth.

    • minx says:

      What is “off” about Louis?

    • Flamingo says:

I’m not quite sure what you are implying. He is a baby.

    • minx says:

Hoo boy, I would hate anyone judging my kids from pictures or brief video clips. When they were small they could look alternate from looking like angels to looking like satan’s spawn depending on the day. Depending on the minute! Because they were, you know, kids.

    • Hey Ali —- It’s the suit and tie at a rugby match. Gezeze does this guy never stand down. Oh I see — ‘he is the very model of a model’ future Prince of Wales. Like you say Kaiser — there are no fingerprints of William’s here as he is just hanging with his fellow Britain’s and being the perfect Prince of People’s hearts. 🤥

      • Christine says:

He was there in an official capacity as paton of the Welsh Rugby Union – totally appropriate for him to be wearing a suit and tie!

    • Maevo says:

I think William is a control freak with a big angry streak. I just get the sense that his childhood and all he saw with Diana made him really closed off and that he puts on the smiling face but underneath is an angry person with a lot of issues and resentments.

      • MsThang says:

Maevo, Ditto, me thinks a lot of the royal family resents the job,and put on a most superficial smile, thinking they all have us fooled

    • Tessa says:

William seems to dislike doing work he keeps pursing his lips

  2. Abby says:

It really sucks how divided they seem.My siblings and I don’t always get along but I’d never dream about holding this much tension between us.I hope somewhere down the road, they are able to surpass all this and have a semblance of a good relationship @tleast for their kids.

    • Ali says:

Do mail your comment to William since all the issues are from his side.

    • VS says:

really? so that the Cambridges can use Archie to hide whatever is going on with their own kids? NO WAY IN HELL Meghan should allow her baby to ever be close to those snakes……….”show me who you are once, is all I need”

    • notasugarhere says:

Why should Harry make peace with someone who has attacked him his entire life? Who has used him his entire life? Who has spearheaded the attacks against his wife?

Archie is better off nowhere near W&K or their kids.

    • Sid says:

Abby, ask yourself why photos of Harry in the Nazi costume made it into the press, but photos of William in an African native costume at that same party never made into the press. The entire family is structured to protect the monarch and the heir above all else. Everyone else is collateral damage to be thrown under the bus as needed. In a scenario where Archie is growing up in London, he would absolutely be painted by the media as the “wildchild” counterpart to the “sweet” Cambridge kids. I won’t even get into how the media would use his Black ancestry against him. Archie is better off away from that mess.

      • notasugarhere says:

Or the video of William’s sex in the stairwell. Or William getting behind the wheel of a car and driving drunk. etc. etc. etc.

      • Lauren says:

African native costume? Sex in a stairwell? Where can I read about this?

      • Jaded says:

How about Wm dancing on a table in some bar shouting “I’m freeeee!!!” after dumping Kate for the umpteenth time?

      • Digital Unicorn says:

Or the photo’s of William urinating in public in front of the paps. Those photo’s were published outside of the UK but were quickly scrubbed after his lawyers got involved. A few of the royal forums still have screen shots and lets just say he ain’t a shower.

      • Some chick says:

Lauren: google is your friend. This stuff is well known. All you have to do is look.

      • Tessa says:

A photo of William dancing and scantily clad in a feathered boa made it to US tabs but was suppressed in the UK.

      • NVYwife27 says:

@Lauren, you can read about it on Notas FanFiction site.

      • Wowsers says:

Lauren, you can’t read about it anywhere, unless you can read Nota’s mind because thats the only place these stories exist.

NotA. You forgot the one about how Will threatened to beat Harry up if he didn’t wear the nazi costume.

      • Sid says:

Wowsers and NVYwife, please stop the TROLLing.

    • Amy Too says:

“Make up for the kids” seems like it would benefit the Cambridge kids way more than Archie and any future Sussex kids. I bet the Cambridge kids would appreciate having first cousins around who are in the same royal boat as them, getting the same press scrutiny as them, dealing with the same crazy royal family as them. They’d have some support and someone to split the spotlight with. But how would it benefit Archie? He’d have to be around the crazy royal family, the uncle who has constantly thrown his mum and dad under the bus; he’d suddenly have way more press scrutiny on him, and he’d get crazy mean articles written about him in the press. There’s also every chance that as the spare’s kid, and as a biracial child with American citizenship, he’d be used as a human shield for the Cambridge kids.

  3. Snazzy says:

Prepping to be the next Price of Wales maybe?

    • Guest2.0 says:

Since Brexit it seems to be more of an effort to recognize and remind everyone of the royal connections to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

      • duchess of hazard says:

        What @Guest2.0 says.

Because Brexit is pretty much tearing everything apart (the Tories are now having the BBC in their crosshairs), you get the feeling that the BRF is supposed to step in to remind people of their britishness and the sanctity of the union.

But Johnson already gave up NI (the border is in the Irish sea) and Scotland is really looking to break away (good luck to them, because the UK is f*cked), I think it will be hard work, especially with Johnson gunning for us to crash out on Jan 01, 2021.

    • Nahema says:

William actually says they were lambing in NORFOLK – probably on a farm on the Sandringham estate. He was just talking to a Welsh dairy farmer.

      • BeanieBean says:

I was confused by that. I didn’t realize dairy farms would also have sheep.

      • Becks1 says:

Right, def Norfolk, and from the quotes, it seem vague how long they were there. It kind of sounds like a day trip? Like they visited a farm for a day? They’re so normal…..but I’m sure it was after a day at the spa or whatever.

      • Lou says:

There was no way he was lambing for a week. If he was, he wouldn’t call it a dairy farm! It’s a pretty basic difference!
Unless he spent the day trying to milk lambs?

      • Hannah says:

Hi, I just What’sApp’d my husband about this. I’m a city girl. His family are dairy farmers in Leicester (which is in the midlands in the UK) they have sheep and therefore lambs. Quote “We have sheep for wool and dairy. Not all farms dedicated to one thing, especially if you’re a smaller farm, you diversify” I take it he means they make sheeps milk dairy products. I know they make cows milk cheese. They also have chickens and a decent range of organic preserves and jams. And have horses – to herd the cattle. He also confirmed their lambing season has just started. Lambing season is when the lambs are born and its all hands on deck with feeding.

      • PrincessK says:

This is interesting. They were originally going ski ing, and now it’s a welsh farm. All part of trying to get more brownie points from the Sussex haters. I wonder how long they can keep this nonsense up.

  4. Osty says:

I hope William and his wife have what it takes to stand it when the double edged sword cuts them too. And it will sooner or later cos the kiddie pics won’t be enough to satisfy the monsters

    • Belli says:

It’s the kids in worried about. It won’t be that many years before Charlotte and Louis start getting the brunt of it.

      • Osty says:

Exactly, William and harry should have fought for the end of that “heir must be protected at the expense of their siblings “treatment but I think jealousy n ego blinded them. Now the cycle will continue n unfortunately Charlotte being a woman would be worse. William has failed as a father if its true he has a hand in his brother’s woes.

      • MeghanNotMarkle says:

This. If things don’t change within this archaic, dysfunctional system, those kids will become targets of their own family’s sh*t.

      • Lauren says:

I think Charlotte will be okay. She’ll be the only princess in her generation and the only granddaughter of Diana, the media are going to want to play that up, as are the Cambridges.

It’s Louis that I’d worry about. He’ll be used to like Harry was used.

      • (TheOG) jan90067 says:

She is the only granddaughter of Diana for NOW… H&M may have more children, and one might be a girl! However, they will not style her as “princess”. Although when Charles becomes king, doesn’t Archie get that title automatically (whether or not he chooses to use it at age 18)? American here, so it gets a bit confusing! lol

      • Maevo says:

Oh man I worry about all the pressure that will be on Charlotte as the only granddaughter (so far anyway) of Diana and all the comparisons the press will want to make. I don’t even want to think about what will happen if H&M do have a girl someday and how racist and gross things would get for that kid….

    • notasugarhere says:

They chosen to sell their kids out to 1) cover up William’s affair and 2) in the attacks against Meghan. William following in Charles and Diana’s bad PR footsteps. No turning back or closing the barn door now. William is owned by the tabloids (Wooten).

      • Tessa says:

William and Kate have the most obvious PR which can get embarrassing.

Kate an “instant” expert on early child development taken 8 years to develop 5 questions.

Kate grinning inanely at children and supposedly called the Children’s Princess.

William pulling the commercial airflight stunt to feed the venom of the DM writers and commentators. The children scurrying after him. And the plane was empty.

William vacationing on a “farm” as if the family would deign to live in a simple farm house.

  5. Nev says:

    Yeah right.

  6. MeghanNotMarkle says:

I am eyerolling so hard at their “perfectly normal, not guilty of drama” narrative but I sincerely hope that they did immerse the kids in the farm life. It can be such a fun experience for little ones.

  7. Erin says:

It says they were lambing in Norfolk, so at Anmer.

    • Tessa says:

He made some sexist comments about his own children. That Charlotte “hesitated” to go near the lambs while George plunged right in. I think Will should not go stereotyping his kids. But he will.

      • minx says:

We have no idea if that happened or not.

      • Flamingo says:

How is that sexist? Maybe Charlotte just doesn’t like lambs.

      • notasugarhere says:

They’ve stuck their children in boxes from day one. George as a terror, Charlotte the newborn described as ‘a little lady’.

      • BeanieBean says:

Yeah, I noticed that gendered nonsense–girls are timid, boys are brave & little action heroes. It could also be an age thing, but that wouldn’t occur to William.

      • Tessa says:

Flamingo I read some articles about how girls have been depicted in childrens literature and some decades ago the girls were “scared” and needed protection and the boys were bold. I read that sort of stereotyping of behavior patterns was supposedly corrected. William seems to going along with the image of the “brave” boy and the “hesitant” girl.

      • Tessa says:

Even if Charlotte actually went right in and George hesitated I doubt William would ever say that publicly.

    • Desical says:

Yea – there is a reading comprehension fail with that title. It’s clear they were in Norfolk.

    • Nic919 says:

They probably went to a farm one day and this article is making it sound like it was for the week.

    • notasugarhere says:

They weren’t lambing ‘at Anmer’ because there is no land attached to Anmer. It is a house with outbuildings, not any land. If they stayed home at Anmer, they were lambing for a blink of an eye on the Sandringham estate.

      • Erin says:

I meant that they were at Anmer for the week, not in Wales. Nothing to argue about, I was simply point out they weren’t in Wales. I understand Anmer is not a working farm.

      • BeanieBean says:

It was very poorly written, as though they spent the week at some sort of tourist farm (we have those in the States, not sure about the UK), where the paying customers get to join in the work.

  8. GloryS says:

Mum and Dad take three young children on age appropriate holiday at half term

    • notasugarhere says:

Mum and Dad participate in new blatant PR opportunity. Kate and Carole sold their souls and the kids to the Fail decades ago. William sold his soul, and their kids, to the tabloids last spring in exchange for everyone shutting up about his wandering willy.

    • Linda says:

      @GloryS
      Sounds about right.

    • Nic919 says:

They used to not mention anything about the kids but now they provide tidbits to appear as “normal” as possible. And suckers buy the PR every time. Don’t mind us living in luxury while you struggle brits, look over here instead.

      • notasugarhere says:

W&K used private access to the kids to keep RRs from only spinning positive stories about their laziness early on. Kate and Carole have used public access to the kids to bring William to heel in the past (hunting with Jecca, going to Jecca’s wedding instead of Charlotte’s first easter). Now we have W&K both using the kids to try to cover the affair and their part in the attacks against Harry and Meghan.

Sooner or later, all of these separate PR camps will collide with the RRs revealing who did what. Tanna is chomping at the bit to tell where the bones are buried.

      • GloryS says:

        proof or opinion

  9. Busyann says:

I’m side-eyeing this a bit. Charlotte seems like she would be more into this than George. Charlotte seems like she’s more into everything than George. Did William confuse some details of his lie, ah, sorry. Not a lie. This totally happened because they love the country life and are totally normal people that frolic with lambs.

    • minx says:

Meh, they’re little kids. Kids change all the time, they can like something one week and be in a mood the next and want no part of it. I hesitate to ascribe firm personality traits to kids this young.

      • MeghanNotMarkle says:

This is so true. I’ve got one kid who is absolutely fearless but won’t go near cows. They scare her. Any other animal is fine, just not cows.

    • Ellen Olenska says:

Maybe Charlotte figured out they’re going to eat the lambs for Easter? And how super convenient he ran into a woman married to a dairy farmer who was being helped by the foundation. No coincidence at all.

      • notasugarhere says:

As obvious as Kate’s ‘swimming with the kids while wearing pearl earrings’ last year. Had to get ahead of the news cycle about Rose Hanbury last year. Wonder what else they’re covering for this year?

  10. Jay says:

Looks like somebody has finally realized jetting off to Mustique isn’t a good look amidst the turmoil of Brexit and Sussexit.

I’m assuming Charles has laid down the law, perhaps as part of a deal, like, now that your brother is gone, you had better step up. Maybe careful what you wish for, eh?

If the dairy farm trip is true, and it might only be a day visit, I’m sure they were not WWOOFing lol, I’m sure we’ll see photos of them meeting Real People and cute lambs.

I actually think these type of events are very successful for them, where they both get to wear old boots and Barbour coats and sort of “play normal”.

    • MeghanNotMarkle says:

The thing is they seem relaxed and comfortable at these types of events. They should stop all the posturing about their supposed passion projects and start getting more involved in the areas where they seem genuine.

  11. Jumpingthesnark says:

The vacation itself isn’t remarkable. Maybe they did this, maybe not. The reason people side eye it and him is for his consistently shady, underhanded and untruthful actions in the past. No reason to think he has turned over a new leaf.

  12. Flying fish says:

    Whatever.

  13. Mrs. Peel says:

My god William looks old. He’s 37 but presents as 57.

  14. Noodle says:

Serious question — I know the “Turnip Toffs” are all about posh “land work” and gardening, equine stuff, etc. Is lambing an aristocratic thing, like gardening is?

    • GloryS says:

No it is called farming!! You get a lot of animal farming in the UK, especially sheep in Wales and the Lake District because the land is more suitable. There is a lot of arable farming in areas like Norfolk which is flat.

Can you explain what posh land work is? And most country stately homes have had gardens for centuries (although gardens is an understatement in those cases). But an enormous number of people in the UK have gardens you know. I even have one. 😆

    • Ainsley7 says:

Lambing is lambs being born. It’s more of a season than a set activity since you can’t set a specific time for it to happen really. I think they just went to see the lambs that have been born rather than helping lambs to be born. I’m not sure that letting 3 small children help with that would be fair to the sheep. So, I doubt they were actually lambing because it sounds like just a day trip. There might be aristocrats who have it as a hobby, but it isn’t a popular hobby like gardening.

      • BeanieBean says:

I thought that odd, too; it seemed as though they were saying the kids were helping with the actual birth process. I immediately thought of the Duggars taking their kids to some farm to view calves being born–the wonder of god’s creation & all that.

  15. Florence says:

God that horrid picture of them at the top. She’s gone full witch-mole evil sorceress. He looks like a dolt.

To think they both used to be good-looking. Clearly their thought have soured their faces.

    • Mara says:

Meh, I think they look like fairly average people in their late thirties. We can pick on more substantial things than looks.

      • Betsy says:

Yes, it’s kind of petty to comment on looks, but sometimes our looks reflect where and who we are. There are lots of people who are, objectively, what one might call flat out ugly but their intelligence or spirit or purity of heart or creativity shine through.

William’s rather sinister mean streak is showing up in his appearance. Kate just looks defeated.

    • notasugarhere says:

When the press is feeling less kindly towards them, they stop photoshopping both of them. It surprises some people, because they believed the photoshop photos were the reality.

  16. pineapple says:

…. I wish they would stay there. The Welsh Dairy Farm that is.

  17. Rapunzel says:

  19. Jackie-Yo says:

So, will and Kate are now getting a glowing review for their week off. No mention of how they ALSO bailed on Andy’s birthday, which H&M got the flamethrower for… Funny how that happens, dontcha think??

  20. Guest says:

Yikes William is so ugly. If he didnt have such an awful personality then his lack of outward appearance wouldnt be that big of deal.

Either way good luck to him and kate. Because eventually the dust will settle with harry and Meghan, and cambridges are on there own.

  21. MCG says:

I recently just finished season 3 of The Crown and this reminds me a bit of the episode where Charles spent a formative semester in Wales. So it seems that they are trying to make the future Prince of Wales more appealing. I wonder if this was at Charles’ suggestion based on his experience? I wouldn’t be surprised if William and Co started making more routine photo op visits to Wales?

Also, since their abhorrent behavior with H&M, I read a lot more into what the BF says (both official comments and these “nuggets”). Absolute UGH! at this source making George look great while making Charlotte (the first spare!) look weak. So gross.

    • Tessa says:

Charlotte I think will be the new scapegoat, the spare while the heir will be treated as a saint and protected.

  22. aquarius64 says:

Is it usually this time the Cambridges go to Mystique? This is why people are side eying this staycation as a PR stunt. When Harry and Meghan show off Archie it’s on their terms and not bowing to the Ratchet Rota. William is trotting out the kids to the BM coven more and talking about this wholesome family outing could be cover for fertilizing the Rose garden during the half term break. Yep the press dog walks the Cambridges.

    • Tessa says:

It is a way obvious PR opportunity but they will slip off to Mustique after going in for heavy handed spin. The family is probably staying in a mansion near by with servants they are not “roughing it” living in a farmhouse.

  23. Courtney B says:

Just a side note. I once vacationed in northern England up at Hadrian’s wall area. The lambs were out then. But it had been raining at that time pretty consistently and the lambs were all in little rain coats. It was seriously one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. They were all over the fields and we’d stop and look at them over the stone walls.

    • GloryS says:

Given our unpredictable climate the worst thing that can happen at lambing time is late snowfalls – can be devastating

      • Courtney B says:

I can imagine given that they probably can’t regulate their body temperature just like human newborns? Or haven’t built up a thick enough layer of fat to protect them.
