The Cambridges hired the Sussexes’ old social media guy, David Watkins

Before the Duchess of Sussex came around, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sort of half-assed their social media. They announced things on Twitter, they would post a few photos here and there, and they did seem to think that they could bypass traditional media occasionally by posting the odd exclusive photo from one of their “private” events. But that all changed as soon as the Sussexes launched their own Instagram account. The Cambridges and their team blatantly copied Harry and Meghan’s entire Instagram vibe. Not only that, but the Cambridges then paid for hundreds of thousands of bot-followers so they would always have more IG followers than the Sussexes. Jealousy, thy name is Keen. And now after successfully exiling the Sussexes out of the country, the Cambridges have hired the Sussexes’ social media guy. Funny how that worked out, huh.

A social media whiz kid who was considered Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ‘secret weapon’ has been headhunted by Prince William and Kate Middleton. David Watkins, 27, was the Sussexes digital communications lead and ran the @SussexRoyal Instagram account, helping the Duke, 35, and Duchess of Sussex, 38, recruit 11.5 million followers with candid snaps and artful videos.

He was among 15 loyal members of staff being made redundant as a result of their decision to step down as working royals and move to North America. But now he has been snapped up by the Duke, 37, and Duchess of Cambridge, 38, to work on their digital communications and social media and, according to his LinkedIn page, started the new role last week.

It’s a savvy hire – the social media whiz was described as ‘the secret weapon’ who worked at the very heart of Team Sussex. David was poached by Prince Harry and Meghan from fashion house Burberry last April, and joined the couple as they launched their hugely successful Instagram page.

[From The Daily Mail]

It was my understanding that most people from the Sussexes’ staff chose to work for them because they were working explicitly for Harry & Meghan. You know what I mean? Those people weren’t part of the same group of royal courtiers who get passed around from household to household. They weren’t from the same group of sycophantic yes-men. Those staffers wanted to work for just Harry & Meghan. Which makes me wonder if David Watkins is going to last long in the employ of the Cambridges. How many IGs can one do of nebulous keenness? Anyway, it’s funny (to me) that the Cambridges are really just the jealous, petty copycats we always knew they were. First they mocked Harry and Meghan’s social media skills, then the Cambridges copied them, then they chased their numbers and now they’re hiring the Sussexes’ old people.

You almost have to admire the absolute ruthless efficiency with which the have Single-White-Female’d and Single-Ginger-Male’d the Sussexes.

      • Becks1 says:

If they put forth half the effort into their royal work that they put into their overall “treatment” of H&M, they would outwork Anne.

    • AnnaKist says:

I agree, Bella and Becks. Its got a bad whiff about it. Obviously, Mr Watkins needs to work, but tsk… it’s like your best friend immediately dating the guy you just broke up with. Not illegal, not immoral, a bit unethical. Just wrong. It’s true what they say about people eventually showing their arse…

      • Dinah says:

Same feeling I have with Zara L, H&M’s communications director, working for the queen now. I understand that these people needed to have a job, but why keep working with that horrible family, who causes Harry and Meghan so much hurth and distress? With now ‘royal experience’ on their CV, they could have gotten any well-paid (corporate) assignment. I wonder if, beside envy of H&M’s social media success and their staff’s loyalty to them, there’s a strategy (by H&M, perhaps?) for the job keep for these two in the royal households.

      • Dinah says:

Also, there are rumours that they both jumped to the PR-camps of the ”enemy”, because they were disappointed that H&M didn’t involve their BP PR-team in their USA PR-strategy and the building and launching of their sussexroyal website, which they worked on while they were in Canada having there Nov/Dec break. Reminder, they had to operate in secret to prevent leaking of their plans (which after all did happened). Their might be some truth to that. This website was built and is hosted by the same Canadian company that built/hosted Meghan’s The Tig blog.

    Hey!
Poor Jason will no longer be alone!

  2. S808 says:

I thought their people had been cast out by the royals? I remember reading about no offers being made. Anyways, good for David, he deserves cause he did such a good job most, if not all, other BRF ig accounts started copying his techniques, Cambridges especially.

    • Olenna says:

That’s the story the RR and trolls were pushing, maligning the Sussexes for firing their staff on short notice and leaving them penniless, and hopeless. Sometimes their ignorant narratives read like penny dreadful tales.

  3. Digital Unicorn says:

He won’t last – he’ll leave once he realises that he’ll be expected to polish turds all day long with bosses who won’t really want to work with him.

    • Ali says:

I say he will last until the fall.

By then the Sussexes will have a new media strategy and the Cambridges will be copying that.

    • Snazzy says:

I kind of hope that when the Sussex’s have their strategy set up they poach him back from the Cambridges- just because it’d be hilarious

    • Seraphina says:

Digital Unicorn, I agree with you 100%. And no one can makes them look good because the desire to work and do good is not there. It’s like wrapping up turds in pretty Christmas paper, it will eventually stink. Good luck to them. If they can pull it off, they can write their ticket to work for anyone. Next stop; Trump!

    • Chica71 says:

Digital Unicorn.. The Keens will probably thinks that everything was David’s idea too and they have to do nothing. That will be their biggest mistake, coming up with ideas, executing and following through.

  4. Prayer Warrior says:

How could he? After being right up close to the vile treatment of the Sussexes, how could he then go on to work for the very folk who ……oh, I just CAN’T with the world right now. Don’t they know we see them? The Telegraph leaking…then blaming over and over. Sarah going to work for the Queen…betrayal? Now him going to work for them. Someone point me in the direction of world leaders who are actually leading and care about the people in the world. I need hope.

    • BabsORIG says:

@Prayer Warrior, I honestly have nothing negative to say about these folks’ decisions to take up these jobs These people, like everyone of us, need jobs to support their families. If Petty Betty and Willileaks are the only that offered them jobs, then I do understand. I mean, what would you rather they did; turn down job offers for what reason exactly? They don’t owe the Sussexes their lives and I’m sure Harry and Meghan encouraged them to take the offers and were/ are really happy for and wish them all the best.

      • Prayer Warrior says:

Thanks, BabsORIG, perspective is everything; I may have lost mine. Though I don’t understand why they would only have one job offer each, I do understand doing what you have to when feeding and housing a family. BUT … as the sole provider for my family, I still stuck to values and principles, and walked away from good jobs when one company screwed over a supplier for more profit, or another company screwed their lower level staff… Queen and Cambridges screwed over the Sussexes blatantly not just once, but many, many times and they were both there to see it…..nope, I’m right back to How could he/she/they????

    • Sofia says:

I mean at the end of they day, these people have to put food on the table and bills to pay. It’s probably just easier to stay within the same “company” rather than find a new job somewhere else and then spend time training and learning the ropes at a new job.

I don’t and won’t fault these people for taking a job tbh…. Unless they started working for Trump or something

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Given how COVID-19 has affected jobs and companies the guy needs to make a living so am not going to jump on him for that however he won’t last – he’ll jump ship when something else comes along or when he sees from the inside how Cain and Unable want him to work. The Cambridge’s have gone through several SM people in the past few years.

    • Melissa says:

Maybe they have more inside knowledge than we do? I don’t think it makes them bad people for finding employment, especially given the state of the economy and I doubt the situation is as clear cut good vs evil as we have reduced it to.

      • BayTampaBay says:

        @Melissa – I agree with you 100%.

We, the CB commentariat, do not have all the inside information to fairly Judge Sarah Latham and David Watkins.

    • Elizabeth says:

Maybe he’s going to spy for the Sussexes and find out all the sources and then name and shame.

  5. C-Shell says:

I wonder if Watkins will object to the bot-buying tactic … or the photo op during a pandemic tactic … or any of the other spurious shenanigans the Cambs pull.

  6. Becks1 says:

I don’t think he’s going to last long there. It just seems like he is motivated and ambitious, and those aren’t good traits for working with the Cambridges.

But, I do think this just proves how petty and jealous the Cambridges are. The success of Sussex Royal IG really DID bother them.

    • S808 says:

I agree, if I were him this would just be a temporary stay till the worlds starts turning again. He has bills to pay and can’t follow the Sussexes to LA so I don’t fault him or Sara for taking a job offered to them.

    • Le4Frimaire says:

@Becks, Agree with this. This guy is young and still lives in the UK, and needs to work in future. It’s still very much establishment driven so looking like you can work with both Royal Households will do him well in the future. Not the best look in terms of loyalty but career wise, it’s good for him. However, the team he has to work with will be very different with a lot more levels of staffers to go through and more traditional.

  7. aria says:

Most of Sussex ig comes from Meghan, I’m sure that David guy helps but I think its help will be fact-checking and spell checking (most of the time, their spellings are in the American version). The genius behind Sussex account is Meghan unless keen Cambridge hires Meghan to work for them, I don’t how they will win this game without cheating their way.

    • C-Shell says:

Exactly this. He can’t invent purpose, empathy, CONTENT where there is none. I can’t imagine he’ll last, but wish him well.

    • Bella DuPont says:

Problem is, he’s seen the secret formula Meghan uses and can/will share it with his new bosses. They must be giddy with satisfaction at just how thoroughly they injured and striped the Sussexes.

Now they’re just lazily scavenging off the carcasses.

      • Sofia says:

What formula? I mean their IG wasn’t anything different from other royal IGs other than the monthly stuff, quotes and long paragraphs.

No. What the SR IG a lot more engaging and informational was the information, enthusiasm and interest in the job. The Sussexes knew about their engagement and knew what they were doing there and what the purpose of them and the charity was. The Cambridges have none of that nor do they have any deep interest in developing. They’ll probably try for a month or two but that’s about it.

      • Bella DuPont says:

I rather think you guys are greatly under-estimating just how desperate the Cambridges are to occupy the space the Sussexes used to be in: fresh, savvy, sexy royal couple.

I reckon now that they have the templates for wardrobe, speeches, pda, instagram, etc, they’ll hire all the hands they need to finalize the transition. It’ll be even easier, especially now that the Sussexes are far-away enough for the identity theft to not be as noticeable as if they were still in the UK.

      • Sofia says:

@Bella: Oh I have no doubt they’re desperate. But David can’t recreate charisma. The Cambridges can’t recreate chemistry. They try but it doesn’t work. Remember pigeon shrug. Or their walk in Ireland where they have their arms around each other but it’s so awkward?

My point is: The Cambridges can try but no amount of copying will recreate what was naturally there. Warmth, empathy, charisma and a work ethic.

      • ShazBot says:

But Bella – they aren’t sexy. They just aren’t. They do not have it. They don’t have the chemistry, the personality or the sexiness. You can’t buy that stuff.

      • RoyalBlue says:

Bella I agree with you. This is also playing out like the movie Get Out where the Cambridges just want to be Meghan and Harry. It’s disgusting.

      • Feeshalori says:

They’re hoping some of Harry and Meghan’s magic will rub off on them. But you can’t turn a pig’s ear into a silk purse. 🤷‍♀️

      • Nimi says:

I write content for blogs, there’s no magic formula! People read M&H’s insta because the interest is genuinely there.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but you can’t make folks kiss it lol!

      • Thirtynine says:

Bella, that’s such a creepy thought!

    • Flamingo says:

Genius? The Sussex IG was very cute with the quotes and did differ from the other royal accounts, but genius might. be a stretch.

        ^^ Yep, exactly Bella! This!!! 😜 🤑

The Cambridges have no ethics and no shame, whatsoever! They are copycats to infinity, but give neither Harry nor Meghan any credit for their enormous influence and inspirational ideas.

^^ Exactly!! This is very true. Bella is correct too that W&K want to occupy the Sussexes’ sexy hot savvy space as a hugely popular couple who transcend royalty. We all know W&K can’t do this, but that don’t mean they ain’t trying in their lazy, shitty, underhanded & hellish, deceptive way (but we still see those idiots)!

^^ Yes, sure @nimi. There may be no ‘magic formula.’ However, Watkins has worked closely with Meghan and thus he’s learned a bit of her thought process and her approach and whatever else he soaked up being near her. Therefore, he’s learned something himself simply by working with the Sussexes. Whether or not he’ll use all he’s learned to try and prop-up and embiggen the Cambridges like their other enablers remains to be seen.

Perhaps Watkins is only biding his time and padding his resume until he gets stolen by someone else. He obviously has chops himself or he wouldn’t have been hired by M&H in the first place. He won’t need to stay long with the petty Lamebridges. So let’s see what happens. 🤨 🤔

    • ADS says:

“The genius behind Sussex account is Meghan unless keen Cambridge hires Meghan to work for them…”

Exactly! And that is what gets me; they had her! She was there, she is smart and she works hard. They could have levelled themselves up by working WITH her and utilising her obvious skills in this arena.

      • ADS says:

Instead they played the petty backstabbing card. So so stupid.

I bet they think it is working for them too because of the overtly rightwing flavour of politics (and most of the media) in the UK and the USA right now. But once things swing back in the other direction, they are going to be looked at as racist quite frankly. Whether they actually are or not (for my money, they probably don’t see themselves as racist, but they were only too happy to use the racist resentment of Meghan against her and Harry – and that does make them racist).

  8. smee says:

They can copy the posts but they can’t create charisma….

    • Charfromdarock says:

I agree. Meghan and Harry have a spark that no one else in the family does, that can’t be recreated.

Plus, they actually do work so they have actual content to share.

There’s only so many ways you can jazz up keentent.

      • ADS says:

“Meghan and Harry have a spark that no one else in the family does…”

So much so that even the people who hate them are more obsessed with them than the anyone else in the RF – including the Cambridges.

    • damejudi says:

This. Maybe it’s the photoshopping of the pics, but KM looks very mannequin-like in so many photos.

MM really does exude vitality/good health/joie de vivre even in still photos. Can that be taught? Can it be duplicated? Good luck to you, David Watkins!

    • Korra says:

The Cambridges use their kids to shield people from their lack of charisma. Pics of their kids always get the highest level of engagement on social media. When they have nowhere left to hide, their kids get trotted out as props.

    • songbirds_thrive says:

      @smee said:
“They can copy the posts but they can’t create charisma….”

Very true, smee! Everyone knows this too, but Cambridge lackeys and enablers won’t admit it. The fact they’re so overly sensitive about image and worried about Instagram numbers! SMH. The only reason W&K had high enough Insta numbers with which to employ bot gains/ games, is because M&H shared staff and KP Twitter and Insta with them post engagement and in the early months after their royal wedding. Most people were going to the KP platforms to follow M&H, NOT W&K!

M&H’s popularity profile only steadily increased after they were married, just as W&K’s bitterness and jealousy increased exponentially. I didn’t know KP Twitter & Insta even existed until Meghan entered the royal family.

The Lamebridges look like fools in that overly posed outdoor shot in Ireland trying to channel Meghan & Harry and failing big time! What the heck is it with Kate’s rictus smile? She resembles a hyena with that ridiculous, faux overly wide grinning.

    • ADS says:

      COTD

  9. Florence says:

Ew Kate’s hair in that picture. SPLIT ENDSSSSSS FOR DAYS

  10. Belli says:

I thought H&M’s instagram was “unroyal”. We were told it was too informal, too gushy, inappropriate for their station… So why would the Cambridges employ one of the guys behind it?? Hmmmm??

  11. JAGirl says:

This just proves the real reason(s) for the effort to drive out Harry and Meghan, jealousy. They seem like they couldn’t even wait to hire their people. Its really shocking their behaviour!

  12. Priscila says:

Bills need to be paid and there were hints some in their employ would be hired by other households.

What I find interesting is that the Cambridges hiring the guy is a confirmation that they were envious of Sussexes social media sucess IMO. We knew that all along, but there it is: another piece of the puzzle.

those articles are atrocious, repeating the same information twice in three paragraphs, copy and past.

  13. Harper says:

I realized that the Cambridge Instagram was triggering me so I unfollowed them. Now I can read stories about their account with relief that it won’t be popping up in my feed. Because the last thing I need ruining my pictures of puppies and pretty interiors and funny memes are the faces of these two jealous cut-throats.

  14. LULU wang was robbed says:

Legit thought that was Carole Middleton in that top picture.

  15. Yoyo says:

Good for David getting a job in these tough times.
Sussex Royal was Meghan and Harry, when David arrived they had nine million followers, everyone knew Meghan was behind the posts.
I can’t wait to see their new Archewell Instagram, I don’t believe that the Instagram Archewell is theirs, because there is no way Meghan would be telling parents how to raise their children.

  16. Marie says:

They can try all they want but the Cambridge’s are stale and dry. Are they going to start putting R&B music in their IG stories? Are they going to follow only 1 account for a month? Are they going to post quotes?

I’m so excited for Harry and Meghan’s new Instagram account. They are free and can now be more engaging. I hope they run it themselves. I would love to see videos by them and I hope they never turn the comment section on.

  17. Loretta says:

Harry and Meghan hadn’t success because this guy but because they have charisma and star quality. Sadly the Cambridges haven’t nothing of that so good luck.

  18. Nina Simone says:

So pathetic and blatant. They still won’t make fetch happen. It’s not the content it’s THEM!

  19. paddingtonjr says:

Just another example of how clueless the Cambridges are. They think that, if they ride the coattails of H&M or “work together as the Fab 4” or hire H&M’s former staff or have Kate dress like Meghan, they will be as popular as H&M. They haven’t figured out that it is who H&M are inside (personable, hard-working, enthusiastic) that make people want to be around them. Meghan is a planner and has worked hard to “brand’ herself; she may be a bit cringe sometimes, but the public forgives her because we see her heart is in the right place and she comes across as honest and open. We see how happy she makes Harry and how in love he is with her and their son. We see how hard he has worked to be his own man and how much he is willing to sacrifice for his values. Then we see the Cambridges half-a$$ everything, do the bare minimum and continually throw the Sussexes under the bus at the slightest provocation.

    • songbirds_thrive says:

I agree that Meghan has some self-conscious ticks and mannerisms that she likely picked up from her acting days. She’s not perfect, but she puts a good face on trying her best. I know some people think she comes off as a lot.

Still, for me I get Meghan’s vibe and I detect a bit of her underlying vulnerability. No one’s perfect. But, to be honest, I’m not certain what you mean @paddington jr., by Meghan being ‘a bit cringe at times’? Meghan is definitely positive and upbeat most of the time, but that’s a good thing. It’s just her vibe and her way of moving in the world, so as to generate and attract positive energy. She’s also a strong, aggressive, take-charge Leo, but with a sweetness and a kindness that’s palpable.

Being down and negative attracts negative energy. When Meghan found herself in this negative, toxic royal family, it was her love for Harry & Archie, and her positive personality that saved her. She’s also got personal strength and a loyal support system, which are also key. And she’s tough-minded. She doesn’t strike me as someone who ‘suffers fools’ for very long, not even royal fools. 😛

Meghan was surely thrown for a loop with the attitudes and racism against her that was unrelenting. So I’m sure there were some tears and uncertainty behind-the-scenes for her and for Harry during what should have been the best time of their lives. I’m not sure Harry will ever forgive his family for their betrayals. M&H’s strengths as a couple and their commitment to each other, and their smarts helped them to strategize a way forward.

Meghan is also said to be calm in a storm and under pressure, so that is also a boon for them. But I can sense that Meghan was feeling stifled and muted which she’s not used to. I was upset at times too because she has an important voice in the world which she needs to be able to freely use. And I wondered how she’d be able to do that. To be honest, Meghan managed to achieve a lot of great substance in that gilded cage, even with the nasty chains and suppression they tried to force on her. And the ‘dim your light’ nonsense.

I didn’t fully realize the extent of what was going on though until it simply became too apparent the leaks were coming from inside and Meghan was being thrown to the wolves. Both M&H carried themselves with grace and dignity publicly throughout. They surely leaned a bit on friends and put their heads together about framing a way forward.

The whole NY baby shower strategy re telling a certain someone at KP the date was Wednesday, when it was actually Thursday, was a brilliant way of exacting leverage to get away from KP. They were able to show the Queen and PC the receipts of just who was leaking on them, which allowed them to set up their own staff and get out from under the heavy-handed monitoring that sharing the same staff with those vultures caused.

  20. ABritGuest says:

Many royal watchers& press said that their problem with Meghan was about ‘behaviour’ only to go silent when others did the same. eg Kate used a private jet when doing her big questions tour around the UK then few weeks later talked about the environment in Ireland but there was radio silence from those who spent the summer bashing Harry& Meghan as eco hypocrites. Meghan wearing trousers was breaking protocol. Kate doing it was modern& fresh update to her style.

Now seeing these hires is example of it’s only a problem when Sussexes do it. Sara Latham was a ‘controversial, too liberal’ hire who media people were calling to be fired for ‘bad PR’ advice but becomes a ‘savvy hire’ when the Queen snaps her up. If David has KP playing music in their videos similar to the Sussexes they will be praised for being fun& modern or something, whereas for SussexRoyal- that was Meghan trying to make it Tig 2.0, being ‘unroyal’.

I’ve read that KP never did the detailed captions and ‘look back’ tour summary videos before the Sussexes. I remember some saying the Southern Africa tour countdown clock was cringe but think I’ve seen either BP/CH SM do the same& now BP is doing a charity Tuesday theme similar to Sussexes charity rotation every month.

So what that Shipman piece last year about family members being overshadowed& what Bradby said about jealousy rings true the more we see these moves. My bet is palace staff found Meghan ‘difficult’ because she wanted to bring her ideas&insight from outside the palace walls which threatened those who don’t like change. So now seeing some family members adopt some of these fresh approaches is so ironic. First they criticise, then they copy… reminds me of the cultural appropriation debates.

It must have been so frustrating to be maligned for doing the very things your family members& colleagues will receive praise for. I bet we will see Kate moving more into the female empowerment space that Sophie & Camilla alone now occupy in the family.

    • MaryContrary says:

      I completely agree.

    • songbirds_thrive says:

Exactly so, and well-expressed @ABritGuest! My thoughts exactly!

    • MerryGirl says:

For me the most blatant show of ‘if you can’t beat em, join em’ from the Cambridges was that black & white Christmas photo of Willileaks & the children —-it was pretentious when H&M posted them but raved over by the RRs and Cambridge stans when jealous Will did it – so pathetic.

  21. Valiantly Varnished says:

And they will find that no social media expert can make them interesting when they’re not.

  22. Tiffany says:

In the two decades those two have been together, I don’t think once I have seen Cain look at Unable in a candid photo. Not even in their engagement photo.

He is always, always looking forward and never at her.

    Something about that feels….telling.

    • Nic919 says:

I have noticed that for years. It is not normal for a couple in a well functioning marriage for one spouse to never be looking at the other one. They have been photographed enough that it can’t be a coincidence that we don’t see William looking at Kate. Plus her submissive puppy dog look to him is very tiresome. We are in the wrong century for that to be viewed as normal. It’s not.

    • swirlmamad says:

Agreed 100%. One of the red flags about these two that has always stood out to me.

  23. HK9 says:

He won’t last and it won’t work. You actually have to have substance so he’ll have something to work with and the Cambridges don’t have any

    • Abena Asantewaa says:

You may make the same soup, but quality of your produce will determine it’s taste. As they say: the proof of the pudding, is in the eating. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Remember, Fluff? Tiger Wood’s caddie, when he left Tiger, all the media said that was the end of Tiger, giving us the impression, that he was the brains behind Tiger’s success. However, Tiger went on to win over 10 majors. I don’t blame David, he needs to pay his bills, he would have been foolish, not to have taken the job, rather than going out to look for one, in this age of corona. For all you know, he was helped along by H&M. Copy copy, all along, they were green with envy of The Sussexes, while’s branding them unroyal, hmm. Sara Latham was maligned, and branded a leftie liberal because she worked for Clintons, The Labour Party and Obama. Now the queen has quikly snapped her up, for special events!

I know he’s got to eat and I don’t blame him…this was more about the Cambridges and the likelyhood that they’ll drive David crazy because they’ll think they know better than he does…my hope is if he gets to that point, like you said, someone else who knows his value will snap him up.

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”

        Indeed.

      • SIPNBUBBLY says:

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.” The full quote definitely applies to Cain & Unable.

  24. Lara says:

I would find it HILARIOUS if he took the job for other reasons. As social media manager, he’d be privy to all sorts of things, putting him in a good position to be a “source” for papers willing to pay through the nose for any kind of news.

  25. Le4Frimaire says:

Well I guess he still needed a check and a job in these times. Interesting how the two most visible staffers, the Instagram guy and Sara Latham were snapped up by the Royals. I assume the Sussexes gave their blessing. On a side note, I’m not sure he did the best job for the Sussexes. The looks and ideas were clearly Meghan’s influence. The comments were never moderated so it would be nasty trolls and bot comments, and then remember the Maya Angelou quote with the typo that wasn’t corrected for a few days. Anyway, all that outrage about the Sussexes sacking their staff was all made up BS to rile people up. Now the real story coming out. This whole nastiness was mostly one sided and the Sussexes are so done with this.

  26. yinyang says:

Hey WK you know a competion you’re guaranteed to win hands down own it, run circles around H&M and come out on top everytime…take out your fat wallets and donate!! H&M don’t have quarter the finances you do, it’ll be great it’s a sure win!

  27. Flying fish says:

The Queen hired Sara Latham, good for her.
David needed a job, so be it.
The Cambridges will continue to be the Cambridge’s even with David helping them.
Meghan and Harry have moved on.

  28. February Pisces says:

It’s a shame that William doesn’t really love kate and can’t stand to be in the same room as her, cos together they make quite the team, both as cunning and scheming as each other.

They can continue to grab whatever scraps of the Sussex’s they can get, but they can’t get their star power or charisma.

    • clairej says:

That’s ridiculous. How do you know William doesn’t love Kate??? They look perfectly fine, plus have been together for years. This madness gets even more bizarre everyday.

    • Dinah says:

I wonder why the media never questioned Kate’s real character and how she really operates within the royal family, since she’s been around. Looks like she is putting up another persona when she’s out and about, than in doors / at the palaces. How come, in all these years, your man hardly shows love and affection for you in public? We knew the queen and Philips did, Ch & C are are showing affection regularly, other royals do too. Something is not oké in that union. Well, we’ll prob. find out when people will start to leak, not only about Wills again, but also about Kate. It’s not happening now, because they, and don’t forget her mother, are working with the tabs and leak abt H&M and other royals lower in the picking order they, Kate in particular, feel threatened by. Hope they realize that the press beast only keeps silent if it is continued to be fed. Mindful Harry, who has never forgotten the lessons history taught hem, said: “I’m not playing those game”.

  29. Awkward symphony says:

lol to the people saying “he got bulls to pay” the guy worked at freaking BURBERY!!The Sussexs were reported to have secured exit packages/referrals for their staff. I mean one of their key staff is low said to be working for a Google backed tec company so they were certainly not struggling to find immediate employment.

I was suprised to hear David’s new post because he wouldve been one of the key people at Travalyst or worked alongside James Holt to manage their UK/Commonwealth projects. This was like a friend betraying your trust/respect & dating your current/ex boyfriend!!

    • songbirds_thrive says:

^^ Hmmm, so it could just be a combination of a case of poaching by W&K along with Watkins not wanting to do any transatlantic commuting or relocating. Maybe he feels comfortable continuing with the royal work on his resume, at least for now.

  30. Lisa says:

I don’t blame him for finding a job but the Cambridges are shameless.

  31. Chelle says:

What’s so maddening is that Harry and Meghan truly did help the BRF and WK upgrade their game–anywhere from social media to Kate wearing age appropriate clothing and hairstyles–but Harry and Meghan won’t get any credit from helping them do so.

  32. Awkward symphony says:

Oops my comment has alot of errors😅I meant bills!
I’ve been wondering if Sara was approached too but declined then queens staff offered her a gig and she took it. If that happened it’d surely burn Dolittles egos. I agree with others that I think David wont last long with them as they already have a social media team. These people are so insecure that I think they probably just hired him to spite the Sussexs.

  33. Nina says:

Now that willyleak the bully and keen have hire him , he made Harry and Meghan’ Account successful for the FAIL?

I thought their IG was so unroyal ?
William’s jealousy and lack of creativity don’t surprise me.
But I wonder if he asks Kate to wear a black wig so she can remind him of Meghan in the bed.

  34. aquarius64 says:

Tin foil tiara – these ex Sussex staff may be infiltrating to find where the bodies are buried to do a tell all. Sure Near were signed but a good lawyer can find a way out. Look at Paul Burrell, Diana’s butler. Twenty years after her death and the press that slam the Sussexes will get them on their shows to spill tea on the Cambridges. Will and Kate need to sleep with one eye open.

  35. Beth says:

The Scambridges have no shame.. they didn’t even wait for the dust to settle. Wow! They might have been jealous of the thriving Instagram account of the Sussexes. Why the public can’t see through these two is beyond me. Never been a royalist albeit a millennial Brit, but all the recent events and hullabaloo surrounding Harry and Meghan has me questioning the morals of this family. I have come to loathe them and especially William for throwing his brother under the bus eg the commercial flight PR stunt. Sad!

  36. kellebelle says:

I know we’ve seen them before but those photos of Kate looking “keen” and “interested” and “thoughtful” are too try-hard, and irksome. It’s just not there naturally.

  37. Lydia says:

You want any additional proof that Katie Keene doesn’t do any work and that no one in Cambridge House has any clue about imaging: why does Kate’s desk have a set of “Clothbound Classics” on it? What working professional has a bunch of literary classics for any reason than show? How useful is Moby Dick?

If she was more committed and her team was smarter, imagine a desk strewn with EMPIRICAL and DATA BASED texts about early childhood development?

“Clothbound Classic Kate” is basically the perfect analogy for the Duchess—pretty, fits in the classical mold, actually pretty useless in the modern world.
