It’s been a while since we’ve had new photos of Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas. I know they’ve been photographed together since we’ve last covered them but they were exclusive photos so we couldn’t post them. I’m not sure how much you guys care though. Interest in these two is definitely waning. We do have an ongoing joke in our CB Zoom meeting with one member who loves Ben. We’ve talked about it on the podcast a couple of times! (Episode #53 at minute 38 and Episode #24 at minute 28.) Ben is looking better though. There was a recent tweet that went viral claiming he’d de-aged himself back to the 90s. I just think it was a good angle and the fact that he’s lost weight and was wearing a flannel shirt, but he does look good. Also, everyone is making fun of how much sugar and cream Ben uses in his coffee.
These are photos of Ben and Ana out at the Brentwood Country Mart, where the photo agency says they had lunch. I’m assuming they ate inside, because there aren’t any photos of them eating outside. Since it’s California they probably have very good social distancing and I’m sure the wait staff wear masks. It still scares me to go out to eat though and I haven’t done it yet, even outside. My son and I usually get takeout and then go sit at a picnic bench where we can people watch. I’ve seen restaurants in my town that are crowded with the doors closed. It will probably be at least six months until we do that again.
What do you think about Ana’s jeans? Celebrities wear so many fug jean trends that the rest of us can’t pull off. (Not that I haven’t tried.) Her sweater with the stripes down the shoulders is cute too. The jeans look kind of cool on her and like a 90s throwback. This makes me wonder if she’s watched Ben’s old movies. She so seems like the type who would do that. You know she’s watched even the sh-tty ones like Reindeer Games, Forces of Nature and Bounce.

well yes he does look happy and good. and maybe he’s reached an age and a point in his life where he knows that there aren’t a lot of chances left and he’d better not blow it. sometimes that happens. hopefully he appreciates ana and his happiness.

Just for Men and a longer beard will do it for most guys. I agree, they’ve set themselves up for a tabloid feast either way will all this exposure.
He looked pretty happy with JLo, until he didn’t. I never sensed the same enthusiasm with Garner.
Agreed that Ana could do better. I’m not optimistic that Ben suddenly has his s*it together, but here’s hopinflg he doesn’t mess it up.
Fact: he only married Jennifer Garner because she got pregnant. They stayed married for as long as they did because of her obsession with him and pathetic devotion being his doormat. He cheated on her from minute 1 and was never as into her as she was into him. I don’t believe she’ll ever really move on. Burger Man is clearly long gone and who could blame him? No one wants to date someone who is still so hung up on her ex.
His face looks weirdly smooth. Like, there’s wrinkles in expected spots but also weird smoothness. He’s doing something to it.
He said a while ago that he uses Botox. Not sure if he’s ever admitted to fillers tho. I guess at least he’s admitted to using Botox as most celebrities won’t ever admit Nicole Kidman, etc.
Isn’t it hot in California? Just thinking about wearing a sweater makes me itch.
It’s actually not that warm in LA right now. We have June Gloom and it’s overcast on the Westside. It doesn’t warm up here consistently until July.

I just have to say re: Ben’s Dunkin — it’s weird that it’s not mixed up, for sure, but I like a LOT of cream in my coffee. I only get one sugar, but I like my coffee light. I don’t know how it became a thing that you’re more “adult” if you drink black coffee, lol. Yes, it’s healthier for you, but not everyone can tolerate it straight! I say this having quit coffee during quarantine, so this comment is purely to defend fellow light-coffee lovers at this point, lol.
Unrelated: It’s dumb to eat inside. They live in sunny, beautiful California. Don’t take the extra risk. If you’re going to eat out, eat outside.
They most likely did eat outside. Brentwood Country Mart has a central outdoor space with picnic tables so people order their food from the various spots and then eat outside.
As a non-American I will never understand why you guys drink stuff like this. It literally gives me a horror shudder every time I see/hear/read about it. Honestly, there is a world of amazing coffee out there!! Italian, Turkish, Moroccan, Omani, Vietnamese, Mexican, Australian… Heaping cream and sugar in is super unhealthy and hides the best flavours. Don’t even get me started on caramel and pumpkin spice and whatever the hell else! I say this with love, respect and humour: you have given the world so much but you have the worst coffee in the world. I beg you, when we can all travel again, explore the coffee of the world! Whether it’s a tiny cup combined with cardamom and sometimes rose water as a ritual of getting to know people in Oman, a perfect espresso standing at a counter in Italy (and no, those automatic “cappuccino” machines don’t count as Italian coffee), a classic Australian flat white at a cafe by the beach, or so many other options, there are incredible flavours out there. None of them are found at Dunkin’ Donuts and full of cream and sugar. [runs and hides]
SKF, oh, I totally agree with you! Our coffee is garbage, which is why I can’t drink it straight and have now quit it! I’ve very much enjoyed coffee from other countries my travels. But to get a coffee from Dunkin — yup, mine would look a lot like Ben’s.
I agree, it’s gross! Especially some of the sugary coffee drinks sold at Starbucks, it is the equivalent to eating 5 candy bars first thing in the morning. And targeted at kids, it promotes obesity, blah blah blah.
I just literally finished watching Knives Out this morning and now recognize the name. I only generally skim articles on BA so I thought this person I didn’t know was just some second-rate model. But she’s way too talented for him. Run.
I kinda want her to run also. She’s way too talented to have her career derailed by some succubus. I will be pissed if she eventually winds up miserable and raising kids alone and making credit card commercials.

He looks positively thrilled to be alive when he’s with Ana. There is no question she’s been part of his huge transformation these last several months. It’s great to see this after his obvious misery being married to Garner.
Perhaps it’s semantics but I see Ben as being miserable WHILE married to Jennifer Garner not BECAUSE he was married to her.
It’s not like Ben has always looked like shit. He had good days before, during, and after his marriage.
Ana is not some miracle and people shouldn’t put that much pressure on her. She’s not responsible for his health and for him staying sober. That’s all on him
He will always have mental health issues, they don’t magically disappear because you’re in a happy relationship. He has had major depression and anxiety all his life. Before Garner, after her. He said during his recent press tour he’s still on anti-depressants.

You act like Ben’s Pap Strolls for Press are brand new to him or something, lol. First their pathetic, phony marriage, then parading their kids in front of the paps, farmers market and church strolls, then their divorced-but-happily-coparenting PR tour that continues to this day, etc etc. Ana de Armas has more onscreen charisma and talent than the two of them combined, frankly. Both Garner and Affleck are godawful actors. I wish Ana would remove herself from this situation. She can do so much better.
Ana and her team seem to be on board with the thirsty pap strolls like the rest of the Affleck-Garner family, and she enjoys the attention. I’m not sure if she wants to do better or even can do better right now.
Three movies with Ana came out since the lockdown started and barely anyone is talking about them (ok, they didn’t get raving reviews, so maybe she’s glad that she’s only known as Affleck’s gf right now, lol). Her private life is extremely overshadowing her career.
Ben (and Jen) May not be great actors, but Ben has a lot more going for him than Ana does. He’s a two-time Academy Award winner, a respected director, screenwriter, and producer. Ana just acts. Ben said when he first started, he couldn’t get acting gigs, so him and Matt decided to take matters into their own hands and write a screenplay they could both act in. Not to mention, Ben has a ton of clout and contacts in HW.
And btw, Ana has some on-screen charisma, but a lot of people are getting fed up with all of her eye f’ing the paparazzi everyday. Not to mention she’s been turning down roles because they aren’t big enough. Then, the fan account she blocked. Girl is gettin’ and ego. And it’s going to deflate soon.
@marietta Hmmmm Ben’s rep in the industry and with the public is low. He’s a serial groper with Harvey Weinstein connections who tried to hide his slave-owning ancestors and screwed his kids’ nanny. His first Oscar has Whale Weinstein’s fingerprints all over it. He’s also about 15 years older than Ana and a native of the US, so of course he will be more established than she is. As for acting ability, he can’t act his way out of a paper bag so there is no comparison. His last serious acting nomination was back in 2006, enough said. He’s lucky Ana even gives him the time of day. His career is in the death rattle stage, while hers is just beginning.
Huh, Ben’s rep is not low. His Batman fans are still there, the minivan majority who loves the co-parenting pap strolls are still there, and the only ones calling out his Weinstein connections seem to be McGowan and the Internet. Hollywood will always give Ben another shot and jobs. They gave his brother an Oscar even after the truth about his predatory behavior came out.
Ana’s career is not at the beginning, she’s been doing this for years and years, but she finally got some recognition for KO. But no one talks about her last three movies that came out in the last months, only about her relationship.
@jonah, I never said Ben was a better actor than Ana. Ana’s alright. She’s not bad. She’s cute and has a great body. But, when Blonde comes out I’ll be interested to see her take on the American accent. And as for being a Bond girl, she may have a small part, it’s only been speculated, bc we really don’t know. She didn’t take part in most of the publicity thus far (since before lockdown.)
But considering Ben has won 73 awards and Ana has only won 5 and she’s been doing it since 2006. And yes, I am aware that most are from directing and screenwriting. But, my original point, at least Ben has something to fall back on. When his career tanked the first time (after JLo) he turned to directing and writing. And he won a lot of awards for Gone Baby Gone. Which got him back in the game.
@lola is right, Ben will climb back up. But Ana is so dumb to be turning down roles. HW is incredibly fickle, will turn on you in the blink of an eye. She just has acting, she’s gonna be screwed. The public doesn’t forgive Women in HW as easily. She may not know that (and I think it’s messed up) but she’s going to get a rude awakening.
Thing is though, this isn’t new to Ben or his relationships (as I mentioned in another thread, his PR strategy reminds me of how Taylor Swift used to roll out her new boyfriends in a very public and templated manner). So yes, Ana and her team are surely going along with it, but I don’t think pinning it all on her is fair when he has a history of public relationships.
Ben didn’t introduce past girlfriends to his kids, his mom, or go on vacation with all of them. And it’s only been six months or so. So yeah, as much as some want to deny it, Ana IS special and different to him. There’s no denying it.
The snl lady was pretty serious. They met each other’s kids and did trips together. He even did a pap stroll with her parents and her kid. Ana is not that special.
All Californians are supposed to wear masks or face coverings in public. Social distancing is not enough. Gov. Newsom issued that order four days ago. You’ll notice the other people in the photo are all wearing masks. Why do Ben and Ana think they’re above the law? Why is their need for attention more important than the health and wellbeing of their fellow Angelenos? Why are they consistently such self-centered jerks?

They were wearing masks that day, there are pics of it.
They are not wearing masks when they are walking down the street and there are people in front and behind them. It doesn’t matter that they are sometimes wearing masks when they feel like it. They have been papped so many times in the last weeks without a mask on in public space. The five seconds they put a mask on are pointless

Stroller Cat is more riveting than Benana. Ana is beautiful, but sometimes her wardrobe is hideous. Ben looks tired & worn out.

Yes, only the N95 masks protects from the virus. That’s why they were saved for medical personnel, who come in direct contact with the virus.
The other masks, what everyone else is wearing, don’t protect the WEARER from the virus, they protect others from the WEARER. The cloth masks help contain droplets that spread the virus, especially from people who are asymptomatic. If everyone wears one, it GREATLY cuts down on the amount of respiratory droplets out there, and reduces the virus spreading.
My mask protects you. Your mask protects me. Wear a mask.

This. We had N95s leftover from our CA wildfires stash that we wore out at the beginning of the quarantine. Now that grocery stores (which is still pretty much the only place we go anyway) are requiring all people to wear them, we’re wearing fabric masks. And yes-they’re to protect others!

I was extremely fan of her after bladerunner. Then i was not feeling it whith Evans (people here were like he was trying but she was for me, i réalise she was thirsty) and now Affleck. It would have been better for her to go on to have good movies and not being about her private life . I realy think she is beautiful and have some talent…

Aww I always liked Ben Affleck. I’ve had a soft spot since Mallrats and all the Kevin Smith movies. He’s hilarious in Extract – Fun movie w/ Jason Bateman & Mila Kunis directed by Mike Judge (Office Space, Idiocracy, Beavis & Butt-Head, etc).
It’s sad that she’s still slumming it with this loser. When she dumps him, he will crash off the wagon and the aftershocks will be felt for miles. Doormat Garner better get her car ready for that trip to rehab, in full view of the paps of course.
She could do better but I don’t understand the impulse to dream about Ben relapsing. They have real lives beyond jokes on the internet and addiction is an illness.

I’ve been sober a long time and I still struggle. @ jonah is just an obsessed Ana fan who obviously doesn’t have anyone in their life to explain to them what this disease is like to live with. I hope you never find out what it feels like.
I think they will either be engaged, married and pregnant in a year, or she will dump him and he will fall off the wagon in spectacular fashion. He’s fallen hard for her. It *seems* like she feels the same way but who really knows? She clearly has him wrapped around her little finger. It’s so interesting to me to see all of this transpire. It really shocked (some) people to see her with his kids and then taking family vacations. I highly doubt Jen Garner was on board with that when they haven’t been together for even a year. There’s a new sheriff in town and Ben is in love with her.
She’s such a different kind of actress than Garner though right? I was surprised at how most movies she’s in she is fully or partially taking off her clothes and the raunchy scenes. Garner was definitely more conservative in that end. Anyhow I like Ben since that interview where he defends Muslims a while back when Bill Maher was trying to spread Islamophobia. Hate that guy. Hate anybody who’s racist against a whole population because of a few bad apples.
There are plenty of photos of he and Jen loved up in the beginning of their relationship. Also, the paparazzi presence wasn’t as fierce (obviously) as it is now. I don’t know, just feel a little protective of Jen here!

The paparazzi presence was as fierce back then. Remember Ben and J-Lo? His career was almost destroyed from becoming tabloid fodder. I mean, his career was in the toilet. So when he got involved with Jen Garner, it was in lockdown a long time, even after the quickie wedding and during her pregnancy. You saw photos, but they were really private for quite a while.
I also think he was really in love with Jen in the beginning.
From the pictures I’ve seen, I’d say he’s definitely in love. And yeah, he’s got the hot back, which I would have said was gone for good. Good for him. I like his movies, what can I tell you. Also, I hate to see anyone hit bottom from addiction, I hope he has it beat.
