Rihanna sent Megan Thee Stallion flowers and wishes for a speedy recovery

Last week Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalized with gunshot wounds to her feet. We found out that Tory Lanez shot her in a vehicle after some kind of altercation. She later took to Instagram live to tell her fans what happened after a week of people laughing and speculating about her situation. Barely keeping tears at bay, she talked about how alone she is since losing her mother and said she thought she was choosing people to be in her life that made her happy. She later tweeted that black women are so unprotected and they hold so many things in to protect others.

Recently, Megan collaborated with Rihanna and Savage X Fenty on a lingerie line. Despite being busy rolling out her new Fenty Beauty skincare line, Queen Rihanna took the time to show solidarity with Meg by sending her a bouquet of flowers. In fact, everyone from her fashion brand, Fenty, was in on it too. Seeing how upset Megan was and the horrible response on social media must have taken Rihanna back to when she was abused by Chris Brown.

After receiving the bouquet of flowers, Megan thanked Rihanna and her team for showing her love. Here are some excerpts from People magazine who covered the story:

On Tuesday [Megan Thee Stallion] shared that she was gifted a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Rihanna and everyone at her fashion brand, Fenty, which recently partnered with Megan on the Savage X Fenty lingerie line.

In her Instagram post, Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, included two photos of herself modeling a lacey Savage X Fenty piece of lingerie as well as a third shot of the thoughtful card from Rihanna and her team.

“Wishing you a full and speedy recovery, Meg! Just know you’ve got a whole crew over here sending good vibes your way!” the note read.

“Lova y’all @savagexfenty @badgalriri šŸ’™,” Megan wrote in the caption, while Rihanna commented, “gang! šŸ™šŸæā¤ļø.”

The Savage X Fenty account also commented on the post, “Love you šŸ’œ hereā€™s to a speedy recovery šŸ„‚šŸ’.”

[From People]

My heart goes out to Meg because as she said in her video, she is alone. Neither of her parents is alive and she thought she was choosing her friendships wisely. This incident was sort of a wakeup call, exposing the nastiness that was in her circle. That’s something I think we all experience at one time or another. And just as Rihanna was ridiculed for the abuse she sustained, this situation just proves that black women are not protected and not allowed to hurt or be vulnerable. What Meg did was incredibly brave and I hope she knows she is loved.

As an aside, the thoughtfulness from Rihanna, a fellow savage, just makes me love her more. It also is an example of how women can show up for one another and hold space. Yes, Meg just teamed up with Rihanna to release a lingerie line but I truly believe that wasn’t the reason why Rihanna extended such a kind gesture. Riri knew that doing something so publicly was putting the mean girls and boys on notice. And I am here for this powerful sisterhood. In the meantime, I’ll show my support by going out and getting my hands on the new Fenty Beauty skincare. I’ll patiently await the Savage X Fenty + Meg Thee Stallion lingerie collaboration to drop.

That kind of solidarity is lovely to see and I wish Meg the best.

It’s really refreshing. A nice palate cleanser. And I think she did it without even having to label herself.

There was also some drama with Draya Michele, who was also a SavagexFenty ambassador, making asinine comments about how she (Draya) wanted a man who would love her enough to shoot her! That lead SavagexFenty to drop Draya and send public support to Meg.

My heart breaks for Meg when I think of how hard navigating fame and life must be without your parents. She is very talented and seems like she has a good head on her shoulders. Protect our Megs (Thee Stallion and Markle)!

Was coming to say this very thing. Draya tried to backtrack – but sorry, sis. I hope she learned a lesson, and not just the one about her money.

    • Eve V says:

That is a disgusting comment and Im so glad Fenty dropped her for it.

Im also sending good vibes Meg’s way. Rihanna’s too.

    • osito says:

Oh, that is so gross and so low, and very reminiscent of comments that came after the photos of Rihanna were released.

Absolutely agree with you that Rihanna would have reached out regardless of the collaboration. Speaking from experience, one feels a kinship to fellow survivors of domestic abuse no matter who they are and no matter how much time has passed since the abuse. What happened to Meghan is horrific, and I canā€™t believe that there are monsters out there attacking her on social media. Also p.s. Rihanna has grown into being such a great role model.

That was a wonderful gesture. I continue to feel sad that people actually ridicule Megan after she was shot in her feet by someone she cared about. Good job Rihanna.

  5. Tiffany says:

When Rihanna won the BET Humanitarian Award last year, she told everyone, you need to step up.

    Riri knows. Oh, Riri knows.

And the cruelty and viciousness of this shooting of Megan still makes my blood boil. He shot her in both of her feet, which is a important part of her livelihood. A arrest and trail will be too kind for that bastard.

  6. rawiya says:

Also, Beyonce sent her a bouquet of flowers and Lizzo sent her a big bag of her favourite treats. It’s great that three of music’s biggest black women are supporting Megan.

    • Christina says:

Itā€™s nice that Megan is sharing the support from these wonderful women, and that they are making it public to put the people Joking about what happened to Megan on notice that their jokes arenā€™t acceptable. Megan could have died if he chose to kill her that night, and Drayaā€™s mysogyny was sad to see. Glad that Savage dropped her.

Unfortunately she learned that people who claim to be your friends are not who you think they are. I feel for her. 4 years ago I was going through a rough time and needed support. This friend kept saying ā€œoh letā€™s meet and talkā€ and would never follow through (even though I was always there for her when she needed me). Finally, out of frustration I told her that I felt she had not been there for me when I needed her. She ended saying that I should be thankful to have someone like her as a friend and no one else could put up with me because I was moody. I was like ā€œwhat???ā€ I was done. I couldnā€™t believe she was speaking to me like that. It opened my eyes to a reality that I had surrounded myself with ā€œtakersā€ (thanks to my therapist!)She tried to apologize but the damage was done. Iā€™ve barely spoken to her and have learned how to say no and set boundaries.
Megan is so young and vulnerable and I hope going forward she will make more careful decisions about the people she surrounds herself with.

    • Christina says:

@Bluesky, Iā€™m so sorry. Life is complicated, and we all do the best we can. If your friend was overwhelmed by life, I could understand better, but calling you moody as an excuse for not being there? WTF? Thatā€™s no friend. If people canā€™t accept us at our worst, they donā€™t deserve our best.

Lovely story. Needed to hear some good news. Grownup Rhianna is a surprise.

  9. Chimney says:

Love it! Rihanna is endlessly classy for this. I hope Meg has some kind of older (Black) women in her corner rn but if not Beyonce and Rihanna is pretty good!

    • osito says:

Ms. Tina has been known to mentor younger artists but never speak on it (in a genuine way…not a Jada way), so maybe this is happing or will happen for Meg, too. I certainly hope so because she needs people who donā€™t need or want anything from her to catch her, especially now as she heals.

  10. yinyang says:

That’s sweet. Wishing her a speedy recovery, she’s going to come back better than ever!

  11. Lindy says:

Man, the mom in me really just wants to take care of Megan somehow. That sounds so dumb I know. (I’m old though, 43 with two kids). I love that Rhianna reached out publicly like that. I hope somehow that Megan can find good people to support her.
