Donald Trump lost his balance & his marbles and there’s another Bob Woodward book

President Trump Pardons Alice Johnson

In this week’s Gossip with Celebitchy podcast, CB and I briefly reminisced about the George W. Bush years and how much we hated that presidency. I said at one point that the Bush years would almost feel like paradise at this point in the Trump era though. Why am I bringing this up? The Bush years were dotted with several books by Bob Woodward, the journalist who gained fame and notoriety because of his reporting and Carl Bernstein’s reporting on Watergate. Woodward’s Bush books were all based on interviews he did within the administration with high-ranking officials. What started out as sucking up to Republican power ended with a portrait of a weakened presidency as the walls closed in on Dubya with a collapsing economy and two endless wars.

Woodward has gotten extraordinary access to power for decades now. It should not be surprising that the Trump people would also agree to interviews, nor is it surprising that they would agree to a series of interviews over the course of years. In 2018, Woodward released FEAR about the Trump administration up until that point. It feels like so long ago, and I was looking through our coverage, I could barely even remember those scandals. To be fair, 2020 has already lasted 45 months. Anyway, all of this to say, Woodward has a new book coming out. It’s called RAGE. It comes out September 15th, seven weeks exactly before the election. RAGE will have “explosive accounts of Trump’s thoughts and actions on national security, the coronavirus pandemic, the economic collapse and the Black Lives Matter protests.” I kind of feel like we’re going to be mad at Woodward all over again because he should have been breaking these stories as they were happening, but instead he saves everything for his books. That being said, Trump is bigly mad already. You might even say he’s full of RAGE.

“…An unstable niece, who was now rightfully shunned, scorned and mocked her entire life…” Even if I believed Mary Trump was a terrible person (I do not), there is literally NO ONE who deserves to be “shunned, scorned and mocked” their entire lives. Why in the world would you shun, scorn or mock a child? For goodness sake.

Anyway, I also wonder if Woodward will cover what exactly happened last fall when Donald Trump was rushed to Walter Reed suddenly one weekend. This happened on Friday though:

I mean… sometimes people lose their balance. In this particular case, Mr. Person Man Woman Camera TV has something wrong with his brain. One more thing:

Why is he always slurring his words. We are truly being “led” by a demented narcissist.

    Sigh….

  2. Who ARE these people? says:

You’re not being led; you’re being tortured.

    • Mac says:

I hope Biden has a national mental health plan because we will all have PTSD when this nightmare finally ends.

      • Jac says:

I just spit out my drink. 😂 This may be the best line to sum up his presidency. Well done.

    • Esmom says:

It’s true but the worst part is how many people seem to enjoy it. I truly feel like a chump for teaching my kids that people are inherently good.

      • Betsy says:

You are teaching them most of the truth. Most people are inherently good.

These people have had their hearts and souls burnt out, I don’t know what by, and I don’t know why some people can experience the same traumas and come out better people, but you aren’t a chump. You’re making sure your kids grow up as undamaged as possible.

  3. Chica1971 says:

Will 2020 never end? 2021 is not looking great either. ..That time between Election Night and January 20..

  4. CidyKitty(CidySmiley) says:

The Trump presidency has lasted like 100 years at this point. Its been so exhausting. Every day its something. The best analogy of him still comes from John Mulaney, he a horse, loose in a hospital.

  5. KellyRyan says:

Reports? One or two recent trips to Walter Reed. I have Bob Woodward’s book on my list, uncertain as to whether or not I’ll order it.

  6. Darla says:

I ordered Michael Cohen’s book. I want the real inside poop. I don’t care about whether he’s a good person or not. Of course he’s not! No good or even meh human being would be that close to trump all those years. Redemption? Not my call. Don’t care. I want to read the real poop, so I paid my money and as soon as it gets here I’m gonna read it. Woodward, I have to tell you, I really have no respect for that guy. The ultimate access guy. I would not buy one of his books, but my mom likes him so I’ll have to buy it for her.

    • Vava says:

I ordered it, too. Can’t wait to read it.

    • minx says:

I think Cohen’s book is going to be really juicy.

    • KellyRyan says:

I have it on order as well. I watched the first two seasons of Ray Donovan who is a, “fixer.” This was Cohen’s role to Trump. Pregnancies, abortions, mistresses, payoffs, liaison to criminals.

    • Diana says:

Thanks for the reminder! Gotta pre order cohens book for the real dirt!!

      • Kosmos says:

Yes, I need Cohen’s book, too….maybe Trump will get so overly bigly mad that he will bust an artery…..or brain cell and we will be relieved of him sooner than we had hoped. I’ve already got PTSD due to worrying about our fate each day and wondering about what new damage will come.

  7. BeanieBean says:

Does Woodward still work for WaPo, or any other paper? Maybe that’s why he’s not reporting in real time & just writes it all in his books?

  8. Insomniac says:

I like how Trump tried to pass that wobble at the top of the steps as him doing finger guns. 🙄

  9. Heather says:

I have long believed he has dementia. I also believe his recently deceased brother died from complications related to dementia. #45 has all the symptoms and has a family history of the disease. I believe his medical team is aware of the diagnosis and frankly has a duty to tell the American people but HIPPA laws prevent anyone from speaking out. I’m surprise no one has sued for his medical records.

  10. Lee S says:

If you don’t follow Noel Casler on Twitter then you should. He’s a former Celebrity Apprentice staffer who shares a lot about Trump’s drug addictions (adderall, cocaine, benzos).

Tom Joseph is also a good follow. He talks about Trump and dementia a lot.

But also GET OUT AND VOTE. We need a change.

    • Oh-Dear says:

so is @DrJackBrown, a body language specialist and MD.

      • Erinn says:

I take anyone who’s a body language expert with a huuuge grain of salt. And just know he is not an MD in the sense most people think when they hear MD. He WAS an opthamologist but hasn’t been since 2009. He’s really using the “physician” everywhere and being vague as hell to give more credence to his body language junk. Sure you can get some things from studying body language but it’s not a guarantee so again -huge grain of salt because this guy seems like a self important borderline grifter.

    • Betsy says:

      Yes, GOTV!!

  11. Rose says:

Frontotemporal dementia. I’m an SLP and I’m in a rehab group (PT/OT/SLP) and we have a running pool to determine the point he’s no longer ambulatory. I don’t think he’ll be walking by Christmas. He looks, sounds, and acts like every dementia patient we’ve ever treated. Look for these balance missteps (his gait is already textbook) to continue. He’s probably already falling down frequently in private. Everyone on his medical team hiding this need to be held complicit. I don’t even know why we have a 25th amendment if we won’t use it on Trump.

    • minx says:

Those ridiculous lifts he wears in his shoes don’t help, they pitch him forward. I don’t know how he hasn’t fallen on his face.

      • Mabs A'Mabbin says:

I fell on my face running to the bathroom yesterday lol. I’m quit sure shit stain has.

    • aang says:

Should have been used on Reagan too.

      • Dee Kay says:

At least Reagan had a solid VP (Bush I) who basically stepped in as Commander-in-Chief for Reagan’s second term. I disagree with almost everything Bush-Reagan did but Bush managed to provide competent and serious leadership and acted as the decision-maker in Reagan’s stead. Who does Trump have to step in for him? No one, he wouldn’t let anyone who has the ability or intelligence to take his place anywhere near his administration, so the whole nation is left with his deteriorating mind and nonexistent soul. There is no number 2 in this presidency.

    • Betsy says:

I’ve been wondering when that point would come. I don’t have any experience with dementia beyond Lewy Body Dementia suffered by a family member, but I’ve read a lot of the doctors and amateurs with deeper personal experiences with dementia on twitter and it seems clear that at some point, he will no longer be at a point that they can prop him up as they have been.

I don’t have any illusions that they won’t keep propping him up, but it won’t look like it does right now.

I think if he begins to really lose the ability to speak (beyond the point to which he has already devolved) before the election, more people will finally accept that he has dementia and that the GOP has been propping him up.

    • Steph says:

@rose YES!!! And we should be hating on the GOP leadership even more bc they will use an incapacitated old man to propagate divisiveness and hate. Don’t get me wrong- he’s a terrible and horrible person in his own right and having dementia doesn’t make him redeemable bc he was this way beforehand. But it does add to the level of despicableness on behalf of these corrupt leaders.

    • Darla says:

Rose there’s an OG Star Trek episode that all reminds me of.

    • Emma33 says:

Hi Rose, can you list some of the main symptoms? I’m not doubting you, I’m just interested. My grandfather had dementia, but I can’t remember what the beginning stages were like.

  12. Valerie says:

Omg, that tweet. He’s such a big crybaby.

  13. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Person WOMAN man camera tv. You failed the dementia test Kaiser.

  14. Jerusha says:

    Polishing my dancing shoes.💃🏻👠🍊🤡🍔🍟🍗🍨🍨⚰️👏🏻👏🏻😁

  15. shanaynay says:

My personal opinion. I think DT was bullied as a child, and now that he’s in office, and has power, he’s going to bully and manipulate everyone, and he’s going to make them pay for the way he was treated as a child..

We don’t have a man in the office, we actually have a little baby still in diapers throwing temper tantrums. Who’s in desperate need of a nap!

    • Lizzie Bathory says:

He WAS the bully. It’s been documented that he once *threw rocks* at the neighbor’s infant in a playpen in their yard. There’s a reason he’s the only one of the kids Mary Trump sent off to military school. Fred Trump encouraged his son to be a bully because that’s what he valued. Any resentments he has about his childhood have to do with his mother not loving him. And to this day, Trump has gotten away with everything, so he never evolved past being a child bully.

    • Jerusha says:

To second that- he was the bully. He had a ghastly father who played his children against each other and little donnie learned early how to curry his favor to secure number one spot. His older brother Fred had a miserable life being the brunt of all criticism from senior and being blamed for senior’s cockups. Meanwhile, the donald skated along having his sister do his homework and a friend take his SATs. He’s been scum since childhood, no excuses needed. One of the world’s great tragedies, imo, is that the original drumpf didn’t fall overboard and drown when he was fleeing Germany and conscription.

  16. Lizzie says:

People with dementia are often clear on the past. Cheeto in his mind is living in the days of Archie Bunker where it is a novelty for a black family to live in the suburbs and nothing is scarier to white women.

  17. CityGirl says:

Does anyone else worry that the demonstrations are emboldening his supporters and increasing his supporters in numbers that could very well mean he could win a reelection? I don’t know if I’ve just gotten down to the point where I’m just wallowing in despair but I’m really worried he will be back for another 4 years.

    • Venus says:

Yes. The Democrats and Biden MUST make the case that the violence is because of Trump, and come out against it. Rioting in the streets has become a partisan issue and Trump is setting himself up as the law and order president. Biden has to attack that from every single angle. This election is not a shoe-in by any means. If the Dems don’t have a good narrative and if they don’t focus like a laser on getting out the vote, this could very well be a disaster.

    • Trillion says:

Absolutely. I just listened to a podcast about the Kent State murders and how the anti-war protests galvanized the “silent majority”, who handed Nixon his reelection.

    • Jack says:

Yes, and white people are looking for an excuse to justify voting for him again!. In 2016 all I heard from people I worked with is ‘the economy’ and Benghazi (Hillary bad). They are going to use law and order and get him reelected. I’m really worried Biden will lose. It doesn’t matter how many times Biden says he doesn’t want to defund police or raise taxes, no one is listening.

  18. Lynne says:

Watch his video yesterday walking on the dirt road in Louisiana, clearly unstable Walking and standing

  19. Emerald Crystal says:

I’m not really sure what his mental capacity is right now. It could be a combination of dementia, drugs and evil DNA passed on by his father. But I am extremely worried about what Trump and his henchmen will try to pull off, in order to maintain their power in the White House. I believe Putin is certainly going to do everything possible to keep his “useful idiot” in the White House, as well. Putin has entire colleges dedicated to teaching the fine art of hacking. I think it’s possible that he could get into our voting machines and change the outcome. We used to be the country who helped others with their unfair elections. But who is going to help us. I don’t know of anything that was done after the FBI and CIA proved that Putin had interfered with the 2016 election through Facebook. Zuckerberg made some promises, but who knows what he really has done. And Trump stood up with Putin by his side and said that he asked Putin if he had done anything to interfere with the 2016 election and Putin said he had not done anything. So, Trump announces to the whole world that he believes a former SSI agent and murderer, over our own FBI and CIA. If President Obama had done something like that, the Republican’s heads would have spun off and flew into the atmosphere. I just can’t believe how much shit Trump has gotten away with and the other Republicans just brush it all under the table. Senator McCain stood up to him and Trump, a multiple draft dodger, had the nerve to say he didn’t consider Senator McCain a hero because he was captured and held as a POW. Why are the Republicans just sitting quietly and letting Trump rip our country apart and make a mockery of our constitution? I believe that the Russian banks are paying some of the head Republicans, such as Mitch McConnell money for something. I don’t know what it is yet, but hopefully there will be a journalist who finds out why Trump has virtually taken over the Republican party. Putin is involved and maybe China. It’s all about money. We’re going to have to take our country back. In my opinion, Trump has committed so many things that are treacherous and acts of being a traitor. His family are all working in our White House with jobs that they are unqualified to do. They have taken jobs away from government workers who have worked their way to get positions that were stolen by the Trumps. He never will show his taxes and has taken it to the Supreme Court to prevent his taxes from being revealed. Either his completely broke or he’s got mega money borrowed from the Russian banks and China, as well. The American banks refuse to loan him any more money because he never pays them back. It’s a mess right now, and it’s going to take a miracle for our country to regain our respect and morality back. And, we are going to have to rebuild the trust of our allies around the world, since Trump has shown his admiration for our enemies’ dictators, while shunning the leaders of our allies. I am on pins and needles about this election. If Trump is reelected, I think we’re doomed. I know that there are many more registered Democrats in this country, and hopefully there are some Republicans who will vote for the country over party. We’re going to have to do everything possible to get this family of grifters out of our White House. I am still resentful of people who voted for him. I have no idea what they were thinking about when they put a known con man, five time draft dodger, bankrupted four times, a cheater to all of his wives and a cowardly bully who tweets like a 13 year old girl into the most powerful job in the world. It’s absolutely astounding that anyone would think that Trump could be a leader of the free world. All he’s doing is making money any way he can and trying to keep the lawsuits and criminal charges at bay. Will Don the Con ever pay for his wrong deeds or will the teflon keep working for him? I sincerely hope that all of you will get out there and vote for the future of our country, so we can start fixing the damages done, and create laws to prevent them from ever happening again. Sorry for writing so much, I’m just trying to get it all out of my system. I’m tired of wondering what he’s going to do next to undermine the stability of our country. It’s truly exhausting.

    • CityGirl says:

It really is exhausting. I’m with you 100% and I really don’t think our country will survive another 4 years. I’m quite frankly I’m not sure I will either.

    • CityGirl says:

  20. Jayna says:

Trump doesn’t have dementia. He is evil, a sociopath. I hate Trump and his despicable children. But the race is tightening, and now I believe Trump will probably get re-elected. Someone talk me off the ledge, because I’m overwhelmed with fear. if this happens, I will turn off all news coverage for three years until Democratic debates and later primaries. I can’t go through this again, watching and reading the news regarding this administration. I have PTSD. I have been filled with dread and anxiety since Friday.

    • Ws says:

I have PTSD, too, and also some serious anxiety. Someone needs to talk me down from the ledge, too. But I’m going to go on blind faith this time. Good has to prevail over evil. It just has to. If not, we can join up and go to Canada.

    • CityGirl says:

      Everything you said Jayna

    • H says:

I think he will be re-elected too. I’m already planning my escape overseas, looking for jobs. I hope it doesn’t happen, but just not sure the GOP won’t steal this election.

  21. Thekla says:

I have a horrible feeling he will be re-elected.

  22. holly hobby says:

Is it bad that I hoped he would face plant or fall so hard that he’d break a hip?

  23. Thekla says:

I’m starting to think about what I should do if he is re-elected. Like, what can I do as a thinking, caring person to help my community, to counterbalance four more years of bile?

  24. Bobby the K says:

It’s good that no one is taking a Biden win for granted.
People will realize how important their vote is this time.
And I expect there will be more Dem supporters showing up at the polls.
