Duchess Kate wears Beulah for a series of events in London: cute or meh?

Britain's Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge speak to staff at the London Bridge Jobcentre, in London

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out for a series of events in London on Tuesday, visiting the London Bridge JobCentre, the London Muslim Center and a bagel shop . The events were conducted to the pandemic – like, Will and Kate talked about employment and whether anyone was hiring during the pandemic, and the bagels… I don’t know, maybe they were just supporting a local business?

I’ve felt for some time now that Kate spent the bulk of her lockdown shopping online, and we kept getting glimpses of all of her newly purchased dresses in all of her Zoom calls. That’s where we first saw this dress, from a Zoom call in May. This is from Beulah London and it retails for £550. She also wore a light floral mask (which I believe she’s already worn before as well, to the Baby Bank event), plus Ralph Lauren heels and a new pair of Missoma earrings. Beulah London must have been having some good sales, she’s worn a few of their high-neck, white-collar prairie-style dresses this year.

While they were at the job center, they spoke to Lloyd Graham, the community engagement manager for construction company Keltbray, who spoke about hiring people for demolition work. William chimed in: “The children, especially Louis would love to come and watch that, to see the diggers, they love it.” Then Kate said: “Don’t forget Charlotte! She’d love it too.” It honestly just occurred to me that William’s sole reference to “how normal people live” is through fatherhood. He doesn’t know what to say to a guy who does demolition work so William just mentions his own manly little boys. And Kate piped up with the fact that Charlotte likes some destruction and explosions too.

Also: there were many comments about Kate’s absence from public view for the past six weeks and maybe she was pregnant again. I hope this video clearsthat up – she’s lost weight in lockdown. Also: I find it gross that they put hand sanitizer on before they worked the dough. They should have WASHED THEIR HANDS. And Kate kept her rings on too! Throw out that dough.

Meh.. Shapeless grandma ma wear. Why does she stay so thin yet never wear more fitted and modern professional clothes is a mystery?

    • kelleybelle says:

Why does she insist on looking like a 1940s housewife? These insanely expensive dresses look like just that: 1940s house-dresses. The same style, time after time.

    • Yvette says:

      Another day, another print dress.

    • Lizzie Bathory says:

I honestly think she’s wearing these dresses with more fabric to hide how thin she is.

    • TeamMeg says:

I watched an oldish movie (2002) last night on Netflix called Possession. The way Gwyneth Paltrow dressed in that film would be a perfect look for Kate and way better than these frumpy, printed prairie/granny gowns. Classy, soft tailoring, cashmere sweaters and pencil skirts, elegant, professional and feminine. (Great movie by the way, if you haven’t seen it!)

      • Bella A A says:

I just re-watched it too and I love that movie. The clothes that she wears are timeless and elegant. I also re-watched Sliding Doors last night and the clothes in that are so cute as well. Her work clothes are gorgeous in that movie. She looks beuatiful in both of them. Kate, on the other hand, consistently wears the ulgiest dresses ever. I don’t understand it as I think she likes looking good but as people that hate her advising her.

      • sunny says:

The movie is lovely and does a fairly decent job of adopting the novel. The book was a huge critical success for A.S. Byatt.

I do love her wardrobe in that movie a lot. I think she looks lovely in that film.

Kate’s style is usually so off which I don’t understand as she is beautiful and is wealthy. I wish she would hire a proper stylist.

    • Sid says:

Her style is just overall very odd with her insistence on sticking to such a costumey old-fashioned look, especially in contrast to the other BRF working royals, who while not setting the fashion pages afire at least look modern. Even Charles and the Queen dress in a way that looks up-to-date for them.

    • LahdidahBaby says:

      I hate that dress. It’s SO sister-wife!

  2. Aidevee says:

William is so basic with his comments.

And Kate’s HAIR- yuk. I mean, she has fabulous hair but I bet some of it ended up in that dough. Tie it up like the plebs do, woman!!

    • Microsoft says:

I dont think she has naturally good hair. Remember her sister and mother had bad hair. Kate hair is good because of expensive makeover per week . And all her event her hairdresser cost her 300 pounds. When you send taxpayer free money on your hair for every event which last for an hour. I’m sure your hair looks great too.

      • Dee says:

William called it “Kate’s nightmare hair” at one point. Her hair gets blown out at least once a week. Extensions added, color touch ups, etc. I can’t imagine how much time she spends in a salon. I wish she’d embrace her naturally curly hair for at least a few of her appearances.

      • Sid says:

@Dee I remember there was a picture from I think what was their Oceana tour, and Kate’s hair looked like it had curled up I assume due to the humidity. It was such a pretty look on her.

      • Call_me_al says:

I had no idea she has curly hair! That would be at least interesting and maybe add some personality to her look. Although nothing could save the Sister Wife dress. It’s horrid. Is she actively trying to repel William? Wouldn’t blame her if she were.
Also, she is clearly very very thin. That part makes me sad.

  3. Nancy says:

Their first event together in weeks and it’s on Harry’s bday? Massive eyeroll.

    • Dali@web.de says:

As if anyone cares what W&K do. It doesn’t matter if its Harrys birthday or not. And the world doesn’t stop because a Prince has a birthday. Its not like its his 40 or 50 etc. People are taking birthdays waaay to serious. We are adults! Not children!

    • Kalana says:

Couldn’t be bothered to show up for the Hold Still launch ( now we know what happened, Kate doesn’t like working two days in a row) but trotted right out for Harry’s birthday. She also did an engagement on Meghan’s birthday, right?

      • Becks1 says:

That’s what stood out to me more than it being Harry’s bday – she couldn’t do an in person event for the hold still final 100 announcement, or even do a live zoom call about it, but she did these events? It makes the queen’s announcement re: the hold still competition that much weirder.

      • Killfanora says:

        Yep yep yep

      • Nic919 says:

It makes it look like the Queen really did step in for the launch because there was no reason for Kate not to promote this herself.

      • tolly says:

Kate even wore a mask for the first time on Meghan’s birthday! It’s a good thing Wills only has one brother, or these poor lambs would work themselves to death.
And of course, three photo ops in one day counts as three engagements, not one day of work.

    • Madelaine says:

@ Dali@web.d: The world won’t stop for a prince’s birthday. Yet can’t a brother pause for the occasion? I do Believe, like @Nancy, that Desperate Baldy will stop at nothing to shift the limelight onto his petty raggedy self. Catherine and William must have been virtuous and genuinely kind somehow, somewhere during their past life, to deserve the right to be reincarnated into constitutionnally approved parasites. I am entertained but not amused.

    • Myra says:

At the end of the day, I don’t think it made any difference. It does show how some royal fans were ridiculous when they accused Meghan of stealing the spotlight from the Cambridges or the other royals. Royals can schedule their events any day of the week and share the spotlight.

  4. Eleonor says:

About the hand sanitezer: it’s everywhere, at least here in France, I even got my own in the purse, yes washing your hands it’s better, but it’s one of those gestures which is constantly promoted, I have nothing to nitpick about it.

    • Kalana says:

We’re using hand sanitizer here in the USA too but not before we touch food. That dough got tossed out. It shows the lack of thought in these engagements. Will and Kate are like children being entertained.

      • Becks1 says:

I’m sort of assuming the food made in appearances like this usually does get thrown out – no hair net, her hair isn’t even pulled back, no gloves, no handwashing (hand sanitizer is a substitute but I would think for food services, hand washing would be a must), etc.

      • Vava says:

OMG, that is disgusting what they did there. Hand sanitizer, then handling the dough. How gross! And that damned hair of hers, too. EWWWWW

    • Nic919 says:

Using hand sanitizer prior to preparing food essentially renders the food that was touched useless because it contains alcohol and that’s not safe for consumption. It shows Kate has no clue about how to actually prepare food since it’s basic knowledge for anyone who cooks to wash your hands with soap and water first. The hair over her shoulders is also quite gross for food preparation because you can be sure some of it ended up in the food. Again anyone with long hair who actually prepares meals knows this and would have at least pushed it behind the ear at a minimum.

      • Tealie says:

Exactly I thought we only that soap and water comes first and hand sanitiser is only when you don’t have a soap and water option left, not to mention the disgusting taste the hand sanitiser would make after it rubs all into the dough and the fact they’re cooking for other people as well that’s gross. No hair next aswell..

    • Lizzie says:

Just a PR stunt as someone else posted, it was thrown away. Concerning how many people might see it and think they don’t need to wash their hands before preparing food if they just use hand sanitizer. Ugh.

    • swirlmamad says:

Hand sanitizer has a definite bad taste to it — it’s alcohol, fragrance and chemicals. Pretty gross to basically smear it all over something people are supposed to eat. Soap and water should’ve been the only way to go here!

  5. Microsoft says:

Not pregnant because when she is pregnant for first three months she wont dye her hair that’s why her stans made a big deal about it during pakistan tour because she didnt. I dont think she will get pregnant because they will face huge backlash . Everyone bojo and his racist party pulling worst stunt and Brexit uk will be recession . Adding another mouth to feed is bad idea and the press will eat her alive. Because Sussex went and they want content if she is pregnant she wont work for another two years which is bad for already failing uk press. She went to expensive vacation with potential face lift with botox and new hair dye.

  6. NeedCoffee says:

The shop’s called Beigel Bake, and Brick Lane is the street it’s on. The visit could be a nod to the East End’s Jewish population, given that Rosh Hashanah is coming up soon.

  7. CidyKitty(CidySmiley) says:

    1. Throw that dough away.

    2. The dress would be much cuter without the tightened sleeves at the end. Its still really busy though. With that collar she eaily could have worn her hair up. Its still such a dated look but that’s her style I suppose. Like I’m not expecting anything different.

    3. Can Kate take her ring off in public? We’ve seen her do everything in it, rowing, soccer, baking etc. I dont think she can take it off. Because that’s some big ish to go missing.

    4. I dont think she lost weight. Actually she looks a little fuller in the bust region but that might just be the dress?

    • KLO says:

I have always found Kate to be gorgeous but mostly I hate her clothes.

THis time it looks like Maria von Trapp took down the kitchen curtains to sew Kate`s dress.

      • manda says:

I know, I just don’t get her style! It’s horrendous. And it’s too bad, because a lot of more stylish looks would look great on her.

      • Sunshine says:

KLO, she’s messing with her face too much. It seems as though that 3 week absence was to smooth out those wrinkles and update those fillers (month vs month photos can confirm). She literally pulled a Melania and the press said nothing.

      • Microsoft says:

Sunshine that’s what I think too. I think she had face lift. I remember watching one of the podcast where the biology professor explain the differences between being hot and beautiful. The supermodels are marketed in the way of hotness and buy their product and men and woman growing up watching those thinking hotness as beauty. Instead of real beauty in hollywood actress and supermodels are considered beauty when they do major changes to their face. But on the other hand beautiful woman age gracefully and they dont always do crazy shit to their face. I think Kate is trying to be hot and look younger for William , so he wont run to rose. I can tell you that men like William run away from good looking wife is not beacuse they are aging it’s because they dont share same interest. Rose is not beauty but I think he is interesting same as jecca. That’s why William runs to them and Kate majorly lack in that department because she think looking hot will men stay but this works initially but those hotness and beauty will worn off quickly if they lack substances. Same as diana and Charles, diana is beauty according to uk standard but why Charles runs to camilla because diana cant have intellectual conversion . Same reason philip run away from lizzy beacuse lizzy is dumb as brick.

      • ArtHistorian says:

He fashion game is becoming ever more tragic. Her fashion game has always been “meh” but she had a few good looks early in her marriage but in the last few years her fashion game has just plummeted.

      • Merricat says:

She dresses like my Grandmother, for real. Before she died.

    • ItReallyIsYou,NotMe says:

I appreciate the boho look and I think this dress is pretty in theory. I think the problem is that she takes these boho dresses and tries to make them into professional wear with conservative accessories, so it ends up looking like a throwback to the 80s. I am going to look up beulah to see how they style these dresses on their website.

      • Becks1 says:

I don’t like this one, but I’ve said before that a big part of the issue with these dresses is how she styles them. They’re not meant to be styled like you are a secretary in the 80s, and as soon as she started wearing this style she’s missed the mark with how to style them. I remember the first dress like this she wore, Drew Barrymore wore the same dress and on her it looked fresh and fun (she had the sleeves rolled up, funky earrings, etc). On Kate it looked matronly and boring and overly fussy.

      • ItReallyIsYou,NotMe says:

Just looked at the Beulah website and it is all dresses with these kinds of heels, so it’s not meant to look boho at all. Yeccch, they could have done so much to make this stylish.

      • Aidevee says:

Nah, I just looked it up on the Beulah website and it’s terribly styled there too with some bloody awful pointy shoes. All the dresses are a bit blaaaaa. It’s basically a website built for Kate’s lockdown shopping hobby.

      • Nic919 says:

Boho look from the 80s was way more casual that this style, which is sister wife and doesn’t look good on anyone. And isn’t Beulah going bankrupt? With fashion like this I can see why.

    • Dee says:

The abuse she gives that ring in public tells me its a replica. The real Diana ring has to be in a vault somewhere. Would you shove that ring into dough (not the first time) and wear it sailing and zip-lining in the jungle? Of course not. Even shaking hands in a crowd, it could be stolen easily.

    • Nic919 says:

There is a photo of her holding Louis from this week from an Italian magazine and her bust doesn’t look as full so this is likely an effect of the dress or padded bra.

      • Becks1 says:

She looked so much better in that outfit in those pictures than in this dress.

      • Harper says:

I figured whoever took that pap pic has some not so nice news/photos of Willileaks. So Wills sent Kate out for a pap walk with Louis in exchange for silence. Kate looks so much cuter just wearing normal clothes and undone hair.

  8. Emily says:

I feel like all these Sister Wife dresses are just begging for me to make a cheap Rose Chumley joke.

  9. RoyalBlue says:

those pre-packaged comments mentioning the children are little bones thrown to the public. they are so transparent.

  10. Sofia says:

Kate (probably) wears Beaulah a lot because her friend (Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs) founded it. A quick google tells me that the company declared itself insolvent back in April and owes money so Kate might just be trying to buy up the stock before it shuts for good. As for the dress, I like the colour but that’s it. It’s not as ugly as some of the other dresses she’s worn however.

As for the ring, I honestly don’t think she wears the real thing out in public except for major events and state dinners. For ordinary engagements, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that she wears a fake. The ring is extremely valuable and I don’t see Kate wanting to treat it too roughly.

  11. CidyKitty(CidySmiley) says:

Actually I just watched the video and I decided I’m more annoyed at the guy who has his nose out of the mask. WEAR THE MASK OVER THE NOSE.

  12. Original Penguin says:

So lots of gossip on Beulah, apparently they’ve gone bust during lockdown?

  13. Dali@web.de says:

    That dress is plain ugly

  14. Kay says:

Her look is too stepford wife for my liking…. points for consistency though.

    • Tealie says:

Honestly K, points to her finding so many ugly handmade dresses in the year 2020where most brands deliver clean and chic, she cleary has an eye 🥴🥴.

  15. manda says:

People that work with dough with rings on, or garden with rings on–I just don’t understand that!

I’m so tired of her style but she just keeps on. I wish I could starve myself some weightloss. It seems to me that she probably has a wide array of delicious foods that she could get at a moment’s notice, so I really give her props for the willpower. I’m going to sound like my grandmother, but she’d probably look better with a few pounds for some curves

    • Beach Dreams says:

I wouldn’t be cheering on the “willpower” of someone who is so clearly underweight and unhealthy.

    • Jaded says:

You want to starve yourself into her type of thinness? She looks like a bone-rack, a string bean. She is unhealthily thin – don’t forget the camera adds 10 lbs – and it is evident that she’s using these prairie wife dresses to cover it up. There’s something going on with her and it’s likely the pressure of being future queen consort, the Sussex mess and her miserable, philandering prick of a husband that is causing this. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she’s been in and out of eating disorder treatment which is why she goes MIA from time to time.

      • Chaine says:

ITA, especially in the pics where she is sitting down and the dress is just bagging around her she is terrifyingly thin. I know that she is naturally willowy, but it looks as if something is going on with her healthwise, be it intentional weight loss or some illness. I know they probably aren’t but i hope that the royal family is getting her some help.

    • manda says:

I was making a joke about not being able to lose *some* weight because I have no willpower, and I was thinking she must really have a lot more tempting stuff than me to avoid. I didn’t say I wanted to look like her. Ugh not at all. Jeez….

I agree though, the sleeves are probably to hide how skinny.

    • Tealie says:

@manda I agree, I never even realised how skinny she was until two years ago and then I finally noticed and I was shocked I was convinced it was Photoshop of some sorts, I really don’t know how her muscles hold herself. The healthiest she’s looked is when she is pregnant and even then she is very skinny, I’m actually really suprised she was fertile and healthy enough to carry 3 babies to term or even get pregnant, because when I was even vaguely close to her weight, my periods stopped.

  16. JustMe says:

The pic of him with clenched fists is probably how he reacts to every positive news story about Harry and Meghan!

    • Becks1 says:

Kaiser said on twitter that it was his “trying to go to the bathroom” face and now I cant unsee that lol.

  17. Maevo says:

And she should put her hair up if she’s working with food!!!

    • Chrissy says:

No kidding. Throw away that dough please. Between the hand sanitizer and her hair …. Just ridiculous.

  18. Sunshine says:

    Meh. Too trade wife.

  19. McMom says:

Awful dress. If it was short, short-sleeved, a-line with a Peter Pan collar and worn by a 4 year old, I would like it. But it’s awful on an adult.

  20. Bibi says:

Ahhhhh what a breath of fresh air and relievement to have this post commenting on Kate and Will and not about Kate&Will VS Meg&Harry. It’s been forever since we just had a post about how kate dresses – remember we had that all the time before laughing avout buttons and stuff – and since a few YEARS all that negativity, I forgot how heavy it was to carry anger towards the words written about MH and all the unfairness towards them.

  21. RoyalBlue says:

looks like someone convinced her to say a permanent goodbye to her flouncy dresses that blow with the wind.

    • JanetDR says:

I was thinking that! That at least no one is going to see her knickers with these dresses. I wonder when she stopped that? Motherhood?

  22. Becks1 says:

The dress is awful. On its own, maybe I wouldn’t hate it so much, but considering that’s ALL we’ve seen her wear over the past few months – those kinds of sister wives dresses – its awful. Kate really looks better in more simple styles, with clean lines, well-tailored – this is not that. I wonder if she’s going for these fussier styles to try to hide how thin she is? Something that fits better and is more well-tailored would show that more.

I had to roll my eyes at these visits so hard though. They visited a Muslim center that has been cooking and preparing meals to deliver throughout the community. Like….could they be any more obvious?

Also, she has worn that mask before, and its still too small. And she DEFINITELY got work done, which I guess explains her absence for the past few weeks.

    • Vava says:

Yes, another Sister Wife dress. Awful.
Kate definitely had some work done.

    • Ahma says:

      @Becks

“They visited a Muslim center that has been cooking and preparing meals to deliver throughout the community. Like….could they be any more obvious?”

      What did you mean here?

      • Becks1 says:

Oh, it seemed clearly designed to mimic Meghan’s work with the Hubb community kitchen.

      • Ahma says:

Oh I see @Becks1, so in the celebrity tussle for minority brownie points, the Sussexes own the Muslims. Gotcha.

      • Tealie says:

She is trying to copy the hub kitchen and is pandering to the minorities that they’ve lost after their disgusting treatment of Harry and Meghan.

      • Becks1 says:

@Ahma – that’s not what I said, but nice try. It’s a little coincidental that one of W&K’s outings was to a Muslim community center doing very similar work to the Hubb kitchen, considering how well publicized Meghan’s work with the Hubb women has been, even during the pandemic. Its a pattern with the Cambridges.

      • notasugarhere says:

It is obvious, Becks1, especially after talk of W&K trying to steal the Hubb funding.

    • Nic919 says:

She’s gotten more filler and her cheeks look huge in some photos, and crooked. Plus she’s so tan. She clearly made time to tan near her pool over the summer.

      • Lady D says:

Covid, inability to work, can’t travel, don’t even have a school schedule. I’m not dissing your comment Nic919, but I’d be tanning by the pool too. Wouldn’t you be looking a little tanner in those circumstances? Lack of work and no travel or ability to volunteer, has given me a darker tan than I’ve had in years, if not decades, because I’m stuck in my yard if I want to go somewhere.

      • Becks1 says:

I also have my darkest tan in years, thanks to more pool time, BUT its worth pointing out that Kate should have and could have been working over the summer – Prince Charles was. We saw Kate make 3….in person appearances? the BBC interview, the baby bank dropoff, and the day in Wales with William. Oh wait, she went to the nursery to buy plants in her plant buying vest. So 4.

i’m not saying she needed to be working 24/7, but overall her work pattern this summer is pretty on par with her work pattern every summer, especially when you consider that she usually is able to use some of the “big” events to bring her numbers up – garden parties, trooping, etc.

      • Tealie says:

I agree although I don’t think it is natural tan I think she’s been fake tanning, The tone of her colouring especially in that BBC appearance was very yellowy orange and fell against the natural undertones that would be in he skin if she just ‘tanned’ as I think Kaiser pointed out at the time.

    • Strawberry says:

There is a very large Muslim population in the UK, and many Muslim community centers. They should always be an important part of discussions by royals and government.

      • Ahma says:

I agree @Strawberry. Unfortunately, for white people we are just pawns in the games played by their fave celebs. They don’t really care about us, just about how good we make their faves look.
Before anyone comes for me, this is not a comment against Meghan whom I admire a lot. She seems to really care.

      • Beach Dreams says:

@Ahma, and yet you made a snarky reply about the Sussexes to Becks1 when she gave you clarification about her comment….”I admire Meghan” my ass.

      • Ahma says:

@Beach Dreams, my point was about fans using minorities in their stan wars, not about the celebs themselves. So I can be “snarky” about that and still admire Meghan, who comes across as genuine. No contradiction there. Why is it so hard to swallow any dissenting opinion?

      • Becks1 says:

Sigh. Of course. I’m not saying the Cambridges can never visit a Muslim center because of Meghan’s Hubb work. I’m saying THIS visit feels like they are trying to copy Meghan, because honestly, they probably are.

If Camilla visited a center doing this kind of work, my reaction would probably be different. But as we have seen, even from a country away, the Cambridges are still in competition with the Sussexes.

      • notasugarhere says:

So this time we’re supposed to praise Kate for not wearing a 6000 pound outfit to visit a Muslim centre, as she did when visiting those impacted by riots years ago? Becks1, what W&K are doing is obvious and insulting.

    • bloemheks says:

      She’s hiding her weight.

  23. Lightpurple says:

I don’t love the dress but it’s a million times better than the mint green monstrosity Nagini wore yesterday

  24. Ginger says:

That dress is awful and her mask is too small.

Also, I really hope they threw that dough out.

  25. Beach Dreams says:

Wow, she sure loaded up on the fillers. Guess that’s why she’s been hiding away for the past month. Those shoes look uncomfortably tight in a couple of photos too.

  26. Guest says:

Her face in that bottom pic looks tight. Also, nasty, not wearing a hair net around food like that.

  27. Osty says:

Kate pulled a khloe Kardashian and got a new face 😃😃😃

    • L4frimaire says:

In one shot, her face looked so different wasn’t sure it was her. Definitely plumped it up in lips and cheeks. She kind of looks like Mary of Denmark with those fuller cheeks. For a while she was looking tired and droopy but now all smooth and shiny, and it looks very recent. Don’t like those high necked dresses. That was definitely display baking, with no hair nets, gloves and not washing hands! She touches her hair, then puts her hands back in the dough☹️. It seemed like a quick, fun enough visits for everyone and they seemed comfortable doing this type of thing.

  28. AMM says:

Who told Kate these dresses look good? Not only does she look like a sister wife, but the silhouette is not flattering. She’s got a very straight/athletic figure with a long torso. These puffed sleeves with a straight dress make her proportions look odd, like T shaped. She has access to whatever fashion she wants. She doesn’t have to dress like this.

    • bloemheks says:

They don’t look good. They hide the fact she’s way too thin. That’s what the Royal Family does. Cover up the problem and pretend it doesn’t exist.

  29. Digital Unicorn says:

Given the tan, dye touch up and botox touch up we know what she was doing instead of promoting her photography competition – plus they should have been wearing gloves when handling that dough. Cross to see them using their bare hands and her hair all over the place.

The photo’s that made the final of her competition were really good – she could have got a lot of good PR from it if she had bothered to turn up and promote it. Even with TQ fronting the launch it was a damp squib. It deserved better from her. But hey – she looks relaxed and refreshed. Wonder where they went on holiday to?

    • Becks1 says:

I wonder if she went on holiday with her parents, we know William went to Northern Ireland last week, so he’s at least been somewhat around. I wonder if she went away in August, then came home and got the work done and has been hiding out for a bit bc of that?

    • Nic919 says:

I still find that so weird because doing the launch for the final photos was an easy win for her and she failed to do it. Even not doing anything she got praise for being linked to it, but doing a quick video promo would have done more.

      • L4frimaire says:

I’m surprised she wasn’t out there more for it and cheerleading it more. Some nice photos and actually supports the arts. I assume there’ll be some sort of glam event planned if they can have gatherings.

  30. Ariel says:

Colorful Little House on the Prairie cosplay is not a good look.

  31. The Duchess says:

From the moment I saw these two making bread without hairnets, gloves or washing their hands properly, I knew it was an instant PR stunt. I know the world doesn’t revolve around Harry, but seeing the Cambridges not work for weeks, then suddenly appear on H’s birthday is very suspect. It’s like they’re trying to get the attention of everyone, but they’re such a pathetic afterthought I can’t even comprehend it. Keen’s definitely had a nip and tuck to the face. Little does she know, the more she fills, the lower it’ll sag in the long run.

    • Dalloway says:

I was SO grossed out by the lack of gloves or hairnets. I don’t want strands of wiglet in my bagels.

  32. tee says:

Wow, when she likes a style she really commits to it. I’ve liked a few of her frocks, but this one is pretty bad. I agree with others about the styling — she’s made a quirky dress with potential straight matronly. And yes, she’s had some serious face work done in her absence from public life. The pressures to be perfect are immense — I get it. But at least now she doesn’t have to pretend to like wearing pants lol

Will is unremarkable as always. It’s quite fascinating how much less interesting they are again without the Sussexes around as a foil.

  33. Cate says:

These dresses are terrible. I don’t know who they would look good on. I do think they’d work better as blouses. Like, cut this dress off at the waist and replace the skirt with some nicely tailored dark pants. Would be much more “modern” looking but still conservative and appropriate. Kate *does* wear pants on occasion so it’s not “against protocol” or whatever.

  34. Margareth says:

    They’re so dull

  35. KW says:

Red looks nice on her but after that, nothing. The style of dress with the shoes is fug and her hair is styled for a 9 yr old. I don’t care that she botoxes the shit out of her face. If I were her I’d be day drinking to forget what a total putz she thought she was in love with. His facial expressions are weird and I can never see past him being a walking penis now. They are a bore, and at this point, maybe only penis needed to wreck the bagel making and she should have supported her photo thing. They don’t need to be together all the time. And with granny and Charles not being visible because of covid, these two bitches need to work. Get to work. You are both too old for the bs excuses. Get off your asses and work. Dog days are over.

  36. Sass says:

Every time I read that she’s wearing Beulah I think “I bet they’re grandma style dresses” and every time I’m right.

At this point I’m more disappointed in the brand for being too on the nose than I am in Kate for wearing it.

  37. Seraphina says:

Kaiser, you brought back memories of my old school and old world grandmother instructing me to always wash my hands before touching food, take off all rings and pull that hair back so no one finds a nasty hair in their food.

Kate is boring, just like her wardrobe. We have evidence from other royals in Europe and from Meghan how one can be fashionably appropriate. Maybe it is trying not to outshadow her husband and maybe it’s also a silent sign she is no longer the party girl she used to be but a top CEO and all business. I could not stop laughing at that last sentence. BAW HAHAHAH

  38. February-Pisces says:

The dress is ‘meh’ to go with all her other ‘meh’ dresses. All her clothes don’t really do anything for her. When I think of all the money she has to spend on clothes not to mention access to designers etc, it makes me sad that she can’t pull together a good look. She’s also tall and thin so really you would think anything would look good on her, but for some reason it just doesn’t land probably. Also some of the beulah dresses are amazing, yet Kate seems to pick the worst ones.

Also why are Willie and Kate say so far apart? Are the still socially distancing from each other?

    • Beach Dreams says:

I recall some people claiming that they were just dutifully highlighting government guidelines for social distancing the last few times they sat apart.

      • The Duchess says:

You know, separate households and all that…

      • Nic919 says:

Do they have a ready excuse for their children not being in school, as the government also requires?

      • Harper says:

There were photos of the visit on the Fail and Kate and Will were sitting on a couch and Kate was literally leaning away from him as far as she could. Pigeon love is back in full swing!

      • February-Pisces says:

They clearly haven’t sent the kids back to school, or we would have seen it already. Kate never misses a photo op. It doesn’t matter, cos they will never be reprimanded for their kids having special treatment. Anyway these two have had lots of practice socially distancing from each other. Seriously they have so little chemistry I can’t believe they have actually had sex with each other.

  39. GREX says:

I find the dressing is getting bizarre at this point. Let’s be honest. The only other people who dress like this regularly are very religious: Mennonites, Amish, FLDS, and to a lesser degree Orthodox Jews. Can you think of one other woman who dresses like this??? It’s described as granny but there are a lot of fashionable grandmas out there.

    • Jane's Wasted Talent says:

And they look better! Orthodox Jewish ladies tend to look so much more elegant. Same for modern Muslim ladies, who will pair a hijab with a long, narrow skirt for sleek elegance. Let’s face it, many ladies from more conservative religions outdress the future future queen.

  40. Kathy Kack says:

She dresses like a fundamentalist, Soooo dowdy.

  41. Blerg says:

I think that red dress is pretty. I’m on board with the whole grand millennial/cottagecore thing, or whatever it’s called. But I’m old, so it’s nostalgic.

  42. Lizzie says:

The dress was pretty when Betty White wore it.

  43. S808 says:

Those gorgeous colors are wasted on that hideous dress. She definitely got fresh fillers. Her cheeks are huge and there’s not a wrinkle in sight.

  44. HK9 says:

Such a beautiful woman, such terrible style…..

  45. bobafelty says:

She really went hard on the botox and filler recently!

  46. Honora says:

She looks pretty good! It’s a nice dress. It’s very loose on her but I can’t hate on women wearing clothes that don’t show their bodies closely. I feel that’s something that should be MORE socially accepted. It’s a time and energy saver To throw on something when you’re going to work and not think of how large or firm (etc) your bust waist hips and limbs appear in it.
Kate’s always been pretty, I don’t know what’s been going on with her brows though. To each her own I just feel there must be a much better brow shape for someone who is this pretty. Her sis and mom Have brows which I’ve never noticed, that’s a good thing. She should check their brows and copy it.

  47. Sorella says:

The odd time I like one of her outfits, but not that often and with her budget and slim frame, I feel disapointed when I see her in these dresses which do nothing for her. But I do find her pretty, she has great hair and lovely cheekbones and when she smiles, she looks great. She looks even better with some weight on her, but she is lovely (as is Meghan).

  48. HCR says:

she has ruined her feet and ankles with endless heel wearing. it is obvious now. sad for her age.

  49. Hannah says:

Burn the dress. Just please, burn it. Burn everything Catherine Walker. Burn all coat dresses. Burn everything with buttons.

  50. Mariane says:

lol I mentioned the hygiene problems of KeenKate not trying her hair or them not wearing gloves and my comment was removed from DM and I received a message saying it violated guidelines!! Them using the hand jel just before kneading the dough shows how inexperienced they are cooking. We all knew that they have a chef and kitchen staff but I assumed kate would’ve baked a bread at some point in her life prior to marrying will but nope she was clueless about lifting so nevermind the rest.
They were both over dressed for the occasion (even if it’s a few minutes trip) NormalBill shouldvd at least taken off his suit and KeenKueen should’ve lifted the sleeves+took off her ring if she wasnt going to wear gloves. The whole thing was a uncomfortable watch. Goodluck to whoever ate that!

  51. Sister Carrie says:

On another site, the video is from outside and this dress goes completely sheer in sunlight. So she pulled a Diana in that we could clearly see leg outline (and possibly lack of underclothes).

  52. CC says:

Kate would look HOT if she dressed like a modern working woman. The pink pant suit was a good way to hide her figure (although the color was slightly off). She’s honestly a really pretty woman, but i dont get her fashion at all.

  53. BreeInSEA says:

    She looks like a bobblehead

  54. Reece says:

    House robe vibes.

  55. ola says:

Throw out that dough ? You realise that bagels are cooked at boiling water and then baked at 220-250°C ?
I know you don’t like Kate but have mercy here. 30% of food in the world is wasted. That was unnecessary.

    • Wiglet Watcher says:

The taste would have been off and it’s such a common sense situation that they didn’t understand. Rings come off when handling raw foods. Even if it’s being cooked. Would she any of her personal chefs to do as she did? Hair down. Not wash hands, but use sanitizer? Wear jewelry without gloves?

    • The Duchess says:

@Ola – It’s not even about that. For all we know, the bread could’ve been tossed straight out. It’s the fact that they’re completely flouting important hygiene standards, in the middle of a pandemic nevertheless. Would it hurt for them to pull up their sleeves, wear hairnets, take off any jewellery, wash their hands and just get on with it? It’s clear they tried to imitate what amazing work Harry and Meghan did at Homeboy Industries in LA. Again, it just fell flat for the Cambs. If you’re going to help in a bakery, then do it right.

      • Feeshalori says:

I don’t care how much it’s boiled or how high the temperature is, just the idea of stray strands of hair baked in those bagels turns my stomach! Ugh!!

    • Beach Dreams says:

LOL sure, because that totally negates the nastiness of Kate wearing a ring, having remnants of sanitizer on her hands, and touching her hair while handling the dough.

  56. Julia K. says:

William has always seemed controlling, in my opinion. Is her thin frame a requirement from him? Some men do insist that their spouse not gain weight. Especially high profile people who are photographed often. Perhaps she just wants to keep her job.

    • Wiglet Watcher says:

Years ago when the text message jacks came out the messages allowed to be published from William’s phone were between him and Kate. That she was at the gym for hours. Working on a tan. Hair. All superficial updates about her keeping her body a certain way.

And the women W pursued in uni and photographed in the company of since have all been of the same body type. Very thin frames.

    • Lizzie Bathory says:

I suspect Wiliam has certain expectations, but I think her current extreme thinness is not due to his insistence. Kate’s natural build is slim, but athletic. She became noticeably thin for the wedding (versus the engagement announcement, where she looked great). Then with each pregnancy, she’s lost the weight very quickly. I think she is stressed, but I also think her weight/figure is something she has long fixated on & a rare place in her life where she can exercise some control.

I do not pity her for her current job/family situation, which has everything to do with her & her nasty husband bullying Harry, Meghan & Archie halfway around the world. But I will say, having suffered from eating disorders for years, that is a torment I would not wish on anyone. It is a unique hell I am lucky to have survived. I have friends who didn’t make it.

    • Nic919 says:

There is a story about Uncle Gary saying that William only liked thin women. Interesting to note that Jecca is quite thin and so is Rose.

      • yinyang says:

The truth is everybody is a victim we can say that William prefers thin woman because Diana was or Charles did. The truth is woman are capable of making their own decisions and taking accountability, if I felt like losing 30 pounds today it could be because of my husband prefers it, or society loves it, and I place importace andpriorities on those things but at the end of the day they are my priorities and I should own that.

  57. Lory says:

She dressed like this because she has no fashion sense, but also because it suits her fan base: racists over 60.

  58. yinyang says:

    same ole same ole.

  59. Olenna says:

Whistler’s mother wants her entire wardrobe back.

  60. yinyang says:

Shame on british for throwing meghan and harry under the bus in an attempt to lift these two despicable beings and deflect accountabilty. And really, jjob centre, ha! as if they’d ever have a reason to set foot there “keep working Brits so you can pay for us” haha.

  61. Andrea says:

Sometimes I wonder if her fashion choices are a wink to wanting Kody to add her as a fifth wife! Sister wives. She reminds me of Robyn with some of these choices and the hair.

  62. Tigerlily says:

Michael K at Dlisted referred to Kate’s dress material being fabric from ‘her grandma’s hallway wallpaper’. 🙂

  63. Keira Lee says:

Making bagel dough wihtout a hair net? 🙄

  64. SJR says:

Look how thin she looks even in that fabric-y pleated dress.
And, yes the dress is outdated, too long and too old fashioned for someone under 40, IMO.
But, since everything else in life is off..I’m just tired of all of the BRF. All of them.
Over paid, entitled, spoiled, useless, generations of not very smart even tho they can afford the best educations available, out of touch, do nothing useful to society, money hoarding, lying, cheating, wastes of time tools. All of them.
Abolish the BRF. Prince Andrew should be in jail.
