Just before Tory Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion, he told her ‘dance, bitch’

CFdjowAF_ZS

Did you see that Megan Thee Stallion got one of the covers for the Time 100 list? She was labeled a pioneer, and she got a lovely write-up by Taraji P. Henson. Megan is absolutely a huge star now, and everyone is waiting for her new move, her next album, her next music video, her next big thing. I think the pandemic messed some stuff up for her, and then to make matters so much worse, Tory Lanez SHOT her. In both feet. And then Tory paid people to wage a smear campaign against Megan and lie about what HE had done to her. Megan has made a few emotional IG Stories telling her story about that night this summer in LA. There was a fight in Tory’s SUV. She got out of the vehicle because she didn’t want to fight. HE SHOT HER IN BOTH FEET. She got back in the SUV and they were swarmed by LAPD, and she was taken to the hospital. Of course that’s not the end of the story. Tory is still the absolute worst, and I’m not even going to try to summarize all of the bullsh-t that’s happened in the past week:

Startling new details continue to emerge in the Megan Thee Stallion/Tory Lanez shooting story. To wit, Complex has new reporting from a source “close to the situation,” who alleges that “before firing four shots at Megan Thee Stallion’s feet, Tory Lanez allegedly told her, ‘Dance, bitch.’”

Meanwhile, an insider told Page Six the source’s claims in the Complex story are “true.” The outlet’s source also alleges that Lanez, 28, offered Megan, 25, and her friend Kelsey Nicole “hush money” in the aftermath of the incident.

“As she’s going into surgery, this maniac is texting her,” the source said. “He’s basically trying to say he’ll pay. Her friend is [also] getting calls to receive money. He was trying to keep her quiet.”

Reached for comment by Page Six, Lanez’s rep us the claims are “Completely false, fabricated and insane. [Lanez] categorically denies these accusations.”

It’s been a wild 24 hours for this story, which dates back to mid-July. Thursday, Lanez teased an announcement about the shooting after two months of silence, though it turned out to simply be a photo of his new album cover. On the album, “Daystar” — which a rep told us was released “on the anniversary of the day his mother, Luella Peterson died — which was also her birthday” — Lanez denies shooting Megan, asking on the track “Money Over Fallouts,” “How the f–k you get shot in your foot, don’t hit no bones or tendons?”

Lanez also used the album to discuss Kylie Jenner’s involvement in the evening — implying that Megan was jealous of his flirting with Jenner at a party that night — and offering a tepid, vague apology for other behavior on his part vis-a-vis the line “There’s traumas in my past that make me talk loud and lash at you / Sorry for the times my attitude mixed with the status, too.”

Friday, Megan’s team accused Lanez’s camp of launching a “smear campaign” against the “WAP” rapper. “We have been made aware of manipulated text messages and invented email accounts that have been disseminated to the media in a calculated attempt to peddle a false narrative about the events that occurred on July the 12th,” Megan’s attorney, Alex Spiro, told Page Six on Friday. “A smear campaign can’t change the truth.”

[From Page Six]

No this a–hole is releasing an album with songs about how he didn’t shoot Megan and apparently she faked (??) being shot in the feet and that the fight they were having was about how Tory was flirting with Kylie Jenner? Dafuq? Here’s my question: why are people nitpicking Megan about her story – which has been unchanged, and merely told over the course of a few months as she recovered from the trauma – when Tory is literally the absolute f–king worst?

Anybody pay to see her live show on tidal? It was after she was shot. She was incredible!

  2. Feebee says:

This may be a silly question but why was he not charged with assault or something? Did Megan not want to press charges?

    • Tiffany says:

      No one will cooperate.

    • Watson says:

At the time when police arrived Megan didn’t want to disclose what happened. As we’ve seen time and again when police are called black people often get murdered, so even though she was shot she protected him!! And this asshat repaid her by slandering her name. Disgusting.

    • MM2 says:

The police did not handle that situation well (no shock here). They forced Megan to walk with bloody, bare feet & lay down on the street. They treated her as a suspect & not a victim. I can see why she would feel that the police were an imminent threat. If she was white, I would bet all my chips that there would have been a charge against him, but instead they did not do their job & blame her for “not cooperating”.

I did! She was amazing!!! I loved the shot she posted yesterday on IG with the rings and I’m thinking of trying to learn photorealistic drawing just so I can replicate it for myself 😂

  4. bonobochick says:

Not only is Tory Lanez trash but so are the men and the pick-me’s on social media defending him. 😒

  5. Tiffany says:

I had no idea who this clown was until it was reported what he did to Megan.

Now that I do, I will forever call him Attempted Murderer Tory Lanez.

  6. yo-yo says:

Not surprised at Tory. His misogynistic antics on IG earlier this year showed me how much of a woman hating b*tch ass person he was.. so for all this to follow only proved my point..sadly at the expense of Megan’s feet. Hold these losers accountable. Society needs to do better at picking which celebrities to uplift etc. Sad all around.

  7. outoftheshadows says:

I love her and she will keep winning. Not a fan of police in general, but it would be nice if they would do their job and prosecute this guy already.

  8. Mtec says:

I doubt two successful women would be fighting over this unhinged troll. Didn’t even know he existed before this mess.

    *** TRIGGERING POST*** ASSAULT***

This whole situation is horrible and I hope that Meghan is given the time and space to heal properly, without constantly being re-victimized and having to defend herself from the constant attacks.

This situation also brings up an important topic i.e. the way in which black women are often expected to protect black men even when they are being abused. Meg’s IG stories initially made a lot of reference to her being ‘a strong black woman protecting her King’. I hope she has learned from that and in future will place herself at the top of the pile of important people. It’s a hard lesson to learn.

During my first year at University I was stalked by a fellow black student and he was very sexually explicit in his intentions on a number of occasions. I was young, nervous and didn’t want to draw attention to the issue so didn’t see the danger in those interactions. I also naively assumed he’d leave me alone bc I had a BF. One evening at the end of the year he got so drunk and was seen on camera stripping completely naked outside my building. He then walked up to my room and tried to push his way in completely naked. It was horrible.

He was caught on camera so there was no he said or she said and the University couldn’t brush it under the carpet (which I could see ticked them off). They had to report it to the Police. He was IMMEDIATELY expelled. It was his third year and he had just finished sitting all his exams so whilst he got his degree, he was not allowed to attend graduation.

Of course some of the the Afro Caribbean Society members (aka Misogynists and ‘Kangs’ unite) decided to blame me despite the fact he was (1) caught by a senior PhD student on premises whose job it was to care take younger students for reduced rent (2) caught on camera (3) fully confessed. What amazed me was the number of the women who took his side, even after they learned that he had previous form for stalking and harassing other girls. His actions were deemed harmless biy behavior. Problem is I had a previous experience of sexual assault so for me the whole situation was just horrible and I flucked up my last two exams completely and had to come back later that summer to redo them. I think I got like 20% on one paper bc I literally just sat there through one paper and then realised I couldn’t face the rest. The pastoral care was just crap and hence why they so quickly agreed to let me retake without it counting as a retake. I have often thought about writing to my alma mater and letting them have it for the way they treated me. I was also harassed by a lecturer that year who was notorious in the dept and later left very suddenly and was never spoken about again.

He made himself totally the victim and they bought it. As my bf at the time was white I was seen as a race traitor and the rest as you know is history.

I don’t think he ever faced any charges, rather a slap on the hand and no graduation pics. I was traumatized for the next two years as I was a 1st year (i.e. freshman). The whole thing was a shite show and sadly very common in the black community.

Later a few years later, I bumped into him in the tunnels at Kings Cross station. He literally cornered me and wouldn’t let me pass. I had a huge panic attack and had to be helped out of the station. I had nightmares for weeks. Till this day I have developed claustrophobia specifically linked to the connecting walk tunnels on the underground and will not use them. Kings Cross underground is just a huge NO NO. I plan all my tube journeys around connecting tunnels and will exit stations and re-enter to avoid walking below ground. It has profoundly affected me so much so that when changing jobs I will consider tube journeys. EMDR helped a little then became too overwhelming so I had to stop. My therapist said that part of the issue was not so much the attack but the way I was shamed and gas-lighted there-after. It has profoundly affected my life and so reading what Meg has gone through makes me so angry.

Black women need to stop protecting ANY MAN who abuses them. I feel this is going to be a hard lesson for Meg to learn.

I am so, so sorry that all of that happened to you, and that you are still suffering the aftermath. Thank you so much for sharing your story.

    • Nikki* says:

Very triggering – my heart is pounding. I’m terribly sorry for all you have been through, and I’m so sorry for all the women in every culture who have been threatened, hurt, and then received no justice, only more crap to process and deal with. Best wishes for your complete healing, and for strength and joy in your future.

    • Anna says:

Dear @Mignionette I am so sorry to hear what you went through and are continuing to suffer. Agree with you on all fronts. As Black women we are expected to support Black men (and Black people in general) no matter how we are (mis)treated. Police won’t protect us; they exist to protect white supremacy. Where can we go? As the Breonna Taylor verdict shows, there is no safe place for Black women, not even within Black community/relationships, and often that is the most dangerous. I will share also that I have been sexually assaulted in same-sex situation and believe me, that is impossible to get any support, sympathy, or help, when it’s women and especially Black women. No one gives a shit about us anyway so why would they care if Black women are harming other Black women. My point is simply to say: it’s heartbreaking to read your story and to know of similar from friends and family and from my own past, the ways that we are pressured to support the Black community before our own safety. And truthfully, we do want to support Black community especially seeing how we are treated in this country. It’s a terrible dilemma. I pray that we will all find the avenues for peace and healing that we deserve.

  10. Yup, Me says:

He has lied and changed his story multiple times since the beginning. Megan never has. He’s trash.

  11. Ginger says:

A lot of men ain’t shit – they live to knock powerful women down a peg. They’re able to do it because so many people, both men and women, support them. We still live in a toxic patriarchy, where a woman with receipts is interrogated while a man with a Swiss cheese full of holes low-level bullshit story is believed. See: the 2016 presidential race, among other innumerable incidents.

  12. Mina_Esq says:

How dehumanizing. What a misogynist. I pray for Meghan’s strength.
