The Coronavirus is still going strong as we near the end of the year. Despite the fact that the virus has killed over 200k people in the last seven months, Trump is still downplaying it and acting like it’s no big deal.
Many celebrities have had coronavirus including Tom Hanks, Idris Elba, The Rock, Antonio Banderas and more. Trey Songz is now a new name to add to the list. Trey posted on his Instagram account recently that he tested positive for COVID after attending protests and food drives. Unlike the president and his team, Trey is taking his diagnosis seriously and will be self quarantining until he gets a negative result. Here some quotes from his Instagram video announcing this.
I tested positive for COVID-19. I’ve taken many tests because I’ve been out protesting, food drives, of course I have a very young son at home, so I get tested periodically and this time unfortunately it came back positive
7.5 million Americans have contracted Covid. One out of a thousand Black people have died from it. I will be taking it seriously. I will be self-quarantining, I will be in my house until I see a negative sign.
My grandfather passed earlier this year and although it wasn’t said it was Covid I believe it was so I’ve always taken it seriously.
If you come in contact with Covid, please do the same. Please do the same. Don’t be like the president.

The situation with Trump and his sycophants is infuriating. His incompetence has devastated America in a way that I don’t think any previous president has done. And despite contracting the virus he is still acting like a buffoon while dumbasses cheer him on.
I am glad there are people out there with a large platform mature enough to take this virus seriously. I am happy Trey has spoken up and is encouraging people to stay safe and get tested regularly if they can. Trey is also leading by example by self quarantining. I really do wish people will take this sh*t seriously and use the necessary precautions. If not for them, then for those they love. Whatever the case, I wish Trey a speedy recovery.
I’m happy he spoke out and hopefully with his platform some will listen. Even when you do everything you are supposed to something gets missed sometime. The other day I opened a door and fully intend to sanitize my hand before opening my car door and leaving, but didn’t remember to do that and was driving down the street before I remembered. Once I got home I sanitized everything, but if I had forgotten, driven somewhere, stopped and touched my mask to put on, that could have been it. It’s so easy to slip up even when you are anal about going through the process. I can’t imagine how some are just walking around maskless, touching things, touching their faces, attending gatherings. Wow!
I’m glad he’s speaking out. Being a responsible, conscientious adult shouldn’t have to be such a big(ly) deal but apparently it’s too difficult for a big chunk of this country including the POTUS.
Heartbreaking to hear about his grandfather, too, especially when you hear the right trying to insist that Covid deaths are exaggerated. Grr. Wishing him a quick recovery.
