One of the funniest dumb stories this week is Donald Trump walking out of his 60 Minutes interview. Part of me thinks he was probably just bored and agitated and he wandered off without realizing that the interview was still happening. Another part of me thinks that there was some kind of preceding incident, a question he didn’t like from a woman over the age of 40, and therefore “nasty.” Whatever happened, Bigly Snowflake was triggered and he’s spent literally days whining about Lesley Stahl and 60 Minutes, all for an interview which won’t air until Sunday.
Yesterday, he posted THREE photos from the interview with no context, no comment, nothing. It was almost like he was simply showing a photograph of himself being questioned by a woman, and his followers were immediately supposed to intuit why this was all some kind of Terrible Thing. But the absolute funniest thing happened on his Twitter feed besides the “no context” photos. This happened:

Ah, yes! Kayleigh McEnany and Donald Trump had worked out a wonderful prop: a huge binder full of all of their healthcare accomplishments over the course of three years and nine months. But the last photo… here it is cropped and blown up:
Yes. They handed her a giant book full of blank pages where they claimed all of their accomplishments would be listed. God, I hope this makes it into the 60 Minutes segment. I need Lesley Stahl looking into the camera and saying “at this point in the interview, the press secretary handed me a book full of blank pages and claimed that it was a list of all of the Trump healthcare accomplishments.” And just a reminder, when Amy Coney Barrett is confirmed, kiss the Affordable Care Act goodbye.
Oh, and Nazi Barbie Kayleigh tried to act like Stahl came unprepared. Wow, Stahl must have really pissed off Trump with her questions, huh? Great advertising for 60 Minutes.

There’s a special place in Hell for Kayleigh McEnany; the great Lesley Stahl has never been unprepared for an interview in her long, illustrious career as an interviewer. And did they seriously believe she wouldn’t open that book?

I do think she was unprepared for that binder, though…I would be flabbergasted if presented with that during an interview with the president of anything let alone the United States.

At a press conference quite a while ago, he put tons of folders on the table to prove something or other. Can’t remember the context. I think there were no names on the folders (or else they were irrelevant?) and empty papers in the folders. It was really bizarre, maybe someone else remembers the details. Guess he thought nobody would bother opening the folders back then, either.

Yea… so many things here. Trump is dick to start with and I’m sure he’s got health issues. I think the health issues might explain his quick to leave behavior just as much as his complete lack of attention and inability to come up with lucid counter argument. On top of that Stahl told people about his off camera comments after her last interview with him and I’m sure he was already annoyed by that. Excellent choice that 60 Minutes brought her back to interview him… they knew it would be fantastic bait for his misogyny and righteous temper.
Stahl is a pro, she might have her leanings but she’s fair and she asks the questions that need answers and clarity – two things Trump is consistently lacking. Just like Guthrie she didn’t let him slide by or interject his dump, avoid and distract technique into the conversation. Just give a straight answer and then we will move on.

My husband, a contract attorney specializing in the entertainment industry, said he would be very surprised if CBS would willingly give Trump any unedited footage, much less any footage at all before the scheduled air date.
He has released it and the White House itself filmed the interview also for archival purposes – supposedly.
This is him trying to divert attention and when people pay attention to him, they aren’t paying attention to Biden or Harris. That is his crazy playbook and it won him 2016.
Will it be in smell-a-vision? Because rumor has it there were sounds and odors preceding the exit.

Re: rumor Trump sh-t/pissed himself, while it could have happened, I’m unconvinced that is what stopped that the interview.
My first thought was he got mad Leslie wouldn’t let him rant about Hunter and the “suppression” of that “story”.
Seeing these pics though, I now suspect that Leslie gave him sh–t over this blank book of accomplishments. She refused to pretend it was legit and asked him why he gave her a blank book. Then maybe asked about the blank page he was signing at the hospital in those photos. I think that is what set him off. Or my first guess.

Much as I love mocking the eminently mockable Donald Trump, incontinence (if he actually has it) is a medical issue and not really appropriate for mockery. Many Americans have such problems.The thriving business in disposable absorbent underwear is proof of that.
There are even charcoal-embedded underwear or inserts that avoid the odor problem. I looked for them while trying to help out a relative who was having just that difficulty, but he was too shy to try them. Anyway, that is also a common problem and people shouldn’t have to just hide at home when they have it.
