Donald Trump leaked his own whiny, petulant, lie-filled ’60 Minutes’ interview

Members Of The Coronavirus Task Force Hold Press Briefing

The saga of Donald Trump’s 60 Minutes interview has been entertaining me all week. On Thursday, I had another day like the “Trump tested positive for coronavirus” day, where I kept laughing at every new revelation. So, to recap: earlier this week, Lesley Stahl went to the White House to record an interview with Trump for Sunday’s episode of 60 Minutes. The episode was supposed to feature interviews with Trump, Mother’s Husband, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Trump walked out of the interview at some point in a huff. Also, at some point, Kayleigh McEnany presented Stahl with a thick binder full of what they said would be all of Trump’s healthcare accomplishments. The pages were blank.

Throughout all of the whining Trump did this week, it was clear that he really felt like Stahl “wronged” him in some way, possibly by being a woman, possibly by simply asking him follow-up questions, possibly by telling him he was lying when he was lying. And so Trump felt so persecuted, he claimed he was going to release the full 60 Minutes interview himself before it aired on CBS. And then he did just that. He leaked the full video – how did he get access to it?? – on Facebook, because he thought it would make him look good, or it would make Stahl look bad. I watched about a dozen clips and… Donald Trump basically leaked a video of himself looking like a gigantic, petulant, lying child, just whining from start to finish and lying about crazy sh-t and then being nasty to Stahl whenever she tried to fact check him. Here are some clips.

I’m already laughing. Here he is lying about masks AND crowd size.

His little baby fists can barely clutch the water.

And here he is, actually telling the truth about one thing: that he hopes the ACA is struck down so that millions of people will lose their health care during a pandemic.

And finally, here’s Trump whining some more and then leaving in a huff because he thinks Lesley Stahl asked him such hard, brutal questions.

There should be an age cap for political office.

    • Lua says:

YES! That’s what I keep saying! Why is there a minimum and no maximum age limit?! We have all of the old people with one foot in the grave, set in their ways, deciding the future for generations they have no ability to connect with!

    • AmyB says:

@Merricat – there should be a level of psychological stability required for political office, particularly of the President! He is so full of neurosis, perpetual lying, projection and narcissism, it is ridiculous! Sorry, that behavior ain’t normal!

    • aang says:

Yes. I think 65 to run for first term and if you win you can run for a second term.

    • Mika says:

Trumps age isn’t the problem here. His personality it.

    • holly hobby says:

Article 3 judges of a certain age has to undergo physical and mental exams every year to prove their competency. Even US Marshals. Why not the person with the nuclear codes?

  2. Lightpurple says:

I watched this yesterday. Her questions really weren’t tough at all but she refused to let him get away with his rote answers of scripted lies and he couldn’t take it.

ETA and he is so paranoid and jealous of Joe Biden, it is pathetic.

  3. Jamie says:

Did he think leaking this would make him look better?? Good lord.

  4. Onemoretime says:

Pathetic liar that he is couldn’t take a seasoned journalist asking he regular presidential questions. For god sake moron do you think everyone is an cult enabler. Can’t handle one journalist what makes his cult followers think he would be able to handle an outside threat to the US. I say outside threat because he & his administration is an inside threat.

  5. Becks1 says:

What a giant man-baby. Lordy. I’m almost embarrassed on his behalf that he thinks this makes him look good.

  6. Legally Black says:

For anyone wondering how the White House had a copy – I read on CNN that the White House filmed it simultaneously and promised that it would only be used for archival footage.

    • Becks1 says:

I wonder how this will change interview negotiations between the white house and news organizations going forward.

If I were CBS I would just devote the entire 60 minutes to Biden/Harris.

      • Rapunzel says:

Becks- great idea. Better idea: the Trump portion is run with interviewer commentary by Leslie Stahl. Let her talk all over him.

Or devote the Trump time to an interview with Stahl giving behind the scenes dirt. Let her talk about getting the blank boom of accomplishments.

Whatever it is, make sure to say it wouldn’t have happened if Trump hadn’t released his version.

      • notasugarhere says:

That is a great idea. Figure out how to do last minute interviews with Biden and Harris, refuting every ridiculous thing Drumpf said.

  7. Chris says:

He’s the president of the United states and he can’t take a couple of tough questions? What a child. Stop whining, you’re a grown ass adult.

    • Thirtynine says:

He’s the President. All the moaning about Joe Biden not getting tough questions- well, Joe Biden hasn’t been the President for the last four years. It’s not him that has to answer for the current state of the US.

  8. AnnaKist says:

It doesn’t matter how many times I read it, I still let out a loud cackle at “Mother’s Husband”!
I have always detested this clown (oh, I hate clowns, too). And I still can’t believe he became your president. A world “leader”. He should be kept on a lead and muzzled. God. And here we are, after 4 years of lying, racist, misogynistic, egomaniacal, dangerous idiocy, and there are still plenty of people buying his toxic El Cheapo snake oil.
So what’s become of his two “advisers”, the daughter-wife amd the ken doll? They don’t seem to be doing much advising.
Errrgh. That pic of him waving his little hand… he’s so fuglu. Shudder. Fancy having to look at that face over breakfast.

  9. heygingersnaps says:

My god!! What a whiny baby. He’s the president of a country and he can’t and won’t answer tough questions?! Somebody fire him already.

  10. FancyCatsup says:

He’s also quite hoarse in the video too – I’m guessing he still has some effects of the ‘rona going on.

  11. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

This fiasco’s been my entertainment as well. I love it actually. And the fact he truly believes it illustrates poor treatment and tough questions is enjoyable. What’s not are the scores who agree with him. 😐

  12. MsIam says:

The interview must be horrible or they wouldn’t be trying so hard to get ahead of it. Either that or they are trying to tamp down expectations.

  13. Valerie says:

    Somebody’s a big, whiny crybaby, and it isn’t Leslie…

  14. Veronica S. says:

I bet you the ACA line is what made him upset. He knew he screwed up there and played right into a major Democratic talking point.

  15. Traveler says:

Gawd, can you imagine what this guy’s presidential library is going to be like?

  16. holly hobby says:

Is it me or did he gain more weight? Twitter had photos of him leaning on the podium in yesterday’s debate. He looked like he had back fat or a hump on his back. The suit didn’t fit either.

  17. Nana says:

The link to the Aubrey O’day/Trumpcrimefamily story in Dlisted (rh side of the page)… highlarious, as are the comments!
