Robert Jobson: Duchess Meghan is ‘totally disingenuous,’ ‘she had a plan’

There are so many good parts to Prince Harry’s video with James Corden, and millions of people have now watched a lovely ginger prince climb a rope like it was nothing, curse when a tea cart fell on him, and chat about wife, child, waffle makers, crocodiles and Zooming with his grandfather. As we’ve known this whole time, Harry wanted out of the UK. Harry was DONE. In episode #63 of the Gossip with Celebitchy podcast, I theorized that there were moments where Meghan thought she probably could have found a way to make the situation work, but Harry was the one who was done with all of it. Harry said as much to James Corden: “We all know what the British press can be like and it was destroying my mental health. I was like, ‘This is toxic.’ So I did what any husband and any father would do. I was like, ‘I need to get my family out of here.'” It was that simple. But of course it will never be that simple to the toxic press. Some of those old men still think it’s all about Meghan:

Prince Harry is ‘barely recognisable’ while Meghan Markle is ‘totally disingenuous’ and ‘always planned to leave the Royals’, a royal biographer has claimed. Speaking exclusively to The Royal Beat, available on True Royalty TV, royal expert Robert Jobson who knew the late Princess’ ‘well’ alleged the Duchess of Sussex, 39, had always planned to leave the Royal Family.

Jobson said it was “ironic” how the Duchess won a privacy claim days before announcing she and Prince Harry were going on Oprah Winfrey’s show to “talk about about their private lives”. He said that maybe if Mr Justice Warby had known that prior to the ruling over excerpts of a personal letter being published, he would have “looked at it in a different way”.

“They have made a bit of a fool of him I think,” he said.

Mr Jobson, speaking on True Royalty TV’s weekly The Royal Beat programme earlier today, said Harry is “now barely recognisable”, adding: “I think she [Meghan] is totally disingenuous…I think she had a plan from the outset that she wasn’t going to stick with it [The Royal Family] and it didn’t take long, before all that thanking the royal family,’ he commented. ‘The royal family would have done their best to have helped her and they would have tried.’

Elsewhere, former Buckingham Palace Press Officer Dickie Arbiter called the Sussexes’ statement on their future ‘petulant, rude and immature’.

‘They are not going to rubbish the Royal Family, because it is not in their interest,’ Dickie Arbiter said. ‘So they will talk about the ‘suits’, how the officials didn’t back them up. They will certainly talk about what they are aiming to achieve; they will talk about family life, babies, and motherhood. They will talk about the British media because that sticks in the craw as far as they are concerned.’

Jobson added: ‘The rudeness of the statement they issued after they left! Frankly, they have been given a lot of slack, but they were damn right rude to The Queen and the Royal Family.’

When discussing the surprise move to film an interview with Oprah Winfrey after requesting a more private life, Jobson also accused the couple of ‘monetising the Royal Family all the time.’

‘Let’s be clear, the reason they are doing Oprah is to boost their brand and get as much attention as possible because that is the power of the buck,’ he claimed. ‘The reason they are talking about their private life is because they need to make sure their brand is high and highly visible in America.’

Also speaking on the programme, Dickie Arbiter’s daughter, royal commentator Victoria Arbiter added: ‘This is Meghan and Harry trying to win over and woo Americans.’

[From The Daily Mail]

First of all, “trying to win over and woo Americans” LMAO. Like we weren’t already proud of our American princess. Meghan had already won us over! And as soon as anyone (anywhere) sees or hears from Harry without the filter of the toxic press, they immediately find him charming and charismatic. Over here in America, we loved Harry’s mum and we see him as a chip off the old block in the best possible way.

As for Robert Jobson’s downright INSISTENCE that this was all plotted out by Meghan, that she had some kind of master plan, a plan which obviously would have seen her subjected to one of the most racist and most vile smear campaigns I’ve ever seen… well, he’s still stuck with his sad little talking points. Even when Harry continues to say that it was his call, he wanted to protect his wife and child and himself from the toxicity and abuse. These people are still stuck on the idea that Meghan has been pulling the strings. Now… all that being said, we do know that Meghan is a planner. She plans, she’s organized, she has a label maker (of justice) and she thinks things through. But it’s asinine to say that Meghan planned any part of this current situation. Her actual plan – her Plan A – was to be a princess who worked hard without facing a vile, racist hate campaign.

    Wow…just…WOW.
The BM still will not just stop…
    It’s pathetic now.

  2. Sunshine says:

    What a salty bunch…

  3. Cee says:

When will they stop? When she is truly gone like Diana and then proceed to canonize her and declare her the Best Duchess Ever?
WHEN WILL THESE GROWN ASS MEN AND WOMEN STOP?

I hope she sues all of them into bankruptcy and social exile.

  4. Merricat says:

All the tiaras in existence won’t shine up these guttersnipes. Did Jobson just come from his job as Secretary to QAnon? KKKolonists.

  5. MsIam says:

I think Harry was the one with the plan. He didn’t want to get stuck in that life and has said so many times. But again Harry is just the twelve year old walking behind his mothers casket in some people’s minds. And as for Harry barely being recognizable, wow what a thing to say after the man came out and said his mental health was being destroyed by being in that toxic environment. Jobson is one sick puppy to think that Harry should be fine with that.

    • BayTampaBay says:

Harry started talking about leaving the BRF when he was forced to resign from the army.

    • Mac says:

You know who had a plan? Kate Middleton.

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

She was always playing the long game.

It is getting tossed around now that if heat really comes down on William, Kate will be the scapegoat. And then she’ll be on the receiving end of all she contributed towards Meghan. We will see…

      • notasugarhere says:

Kate and Carole will both be thrown under the bus by William in his efforts to get out of that marriage.

  6. Eugh says:

She’s Shroedinger’s duchess. She is a social climber who always wanted to leave the royals!

  7. (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

I don’t profess to be a Mensa Member, but even *I* know that “privacy” doesn’t mean you don’t share things. It means that YOU decide WHAT, WHERE, and WHEN *YOU* want to share, or not. It means YOU have your own agency over YOUR words. IF you choose to share something, fine. If SOMEONE ELSE decides to share something you wouldn’t THAT is *INVADING YOUR PRIVACY* (and no, it doesn’t mean a criminal *cough Andrew* can claim “privacy” to cover up a crime *cough Pedo cough*).

    • My Two Cents says:

I know!! I can’t believe they go on TV to show how utterly stupid they are! I personally love the old, ‘she’s invading her own privacy’ expression…ughhh

      • BayTampaBay says:

They. Jobson and Arbiter, do not care how they look because they are boot lickin’ the place in exchange for future access to whatever royals may be left standing.

    • SenseOfTheAbsurd says:

Like sex criminal Andrew, they choose not to understand consent.

  8. BayTampaBay says:

Can you imagine what Robert Jobson and Dickie Arbiter will be saying the day after the interview?

  9. Louise177 says:

I still don’t understand the logic of saying Meghan always wanting to leave TRF for money and fame. It’s easier to get that with less work to stay in the family. Just ask Kate Middleton.

  10. Bex says:

That’s so weird because when he was on Good Morning America, he made no mention of Meghan having “planned this all along”.

It’s so funny how he tailors his message for the UK. As one of Charles’ mouthpieces (ye of “Meghan made Kate cry” gossip that appeared in his biography about Charles in 2018), that’s so telling.

Also…the idea that an interview with Oprah would not have ever been allowed is interesting. She’s literally working with Harry on a documentary about Mental Health for Apple TV. Are we to think that the palace wouldn’t have wanted to capitalize on that IF Harry and Meghan were still working royals?

This is some schoolyard okie doke sh!t and I’m shocked that these amateurs don’t just pack it in.

    This is clownery.

  11. Rapunzel says:

This sh-t is definitely coming from Wilileaks. He probably truly believes that “disingenuous” Meg schemed her way into the palace just to steal his scapegoat…I mean brother. 😉

This is a common misogynistic trope– blaming women for ruining male relationships (his bit-h wife won’t let him hang with the buddies). Not surprising Wills bought into it.

  12. Miranda says:

“The royal family would have done their best to have helped her and they would have tried.”

“Helped her” what, become useless like Kate? Or maybe they wanted early-period, timid Diana, whose mental health was seriously effected by her treatment by the royal family? Gosh, I can’t imagine why Harry might have wanted to get the hell out of there and protect his wife and child(ren)…

    • fluffy_bunny says:

Is this the royal family doing their best to help her and trying? Is this what we’ve been seeing for the past couple of years? Is this really their best? If it is I’d hate to see them at their worst.

    • MsIam says:

So does that mean the royal family didn’t do their best and didn’t try? Wow, way to tell on the others Robert. I guess he thinks he’s helping their case, huh?

    • smlstrs says:

“… and they would have tried.”

… to live with a biracial American woman in the family … ?

      (How… brave… /s )

  13. IntheKnow says:

How much lower will these salty losers go? There is now an article about James Hewitt (the implication being he’s Harry’s father) working for 4K a yr. What a gross bunch of fkers. Urgh.

    • Miranda says:

…yeah, I could see William rigging up a fake paternity test and saying, “HA! He was never royal anyway!” and stripping him of his titles. (Which sounds like something Henry VIII would’ve done, with the added flourish of chopping off Harry’s and Meghan’s heads. William is really very Tudor, isn’t he?)

      • MangoAngelesque says:

But honestly, William doesn’t strike me as having the smarts to pull it off in this day and age. He’d MSPaint a “It’s a Peasant!” certificate and expect it to work.

  14. Chaine says:

A devious master plan to marry a royal prince and leave her career to move to England and become a duchess so that… she could just as quickly exit the royal family and move back to America? Yes, i guess they are right, i would never have imagined that anyone would have such a masterful plan.

  15. Linda says:

When the Royal Family is outed as the nasty people they are, I wonder how long it will take for the royal “biographers” and “insiders” to start jumping ship.

  16. jferber says:

They need to just stop right now. We are not buying their bullshit.

  17. Lemons says:

If this is the case, the BRF really needs to start getting their gold standard advisors to start planning the futures of the BRF. From where I’m looking, H&M are signing multimillion-dollar deals, sitting on notable panels, and generally making headlines for their positives works if it wasn’t for the BRF’s scheming. And the royals are…zooming and saying thank you, denying the seriousness of Covid, then getting priority vaccination.

They could learn something from Meghan the Planner.

  18. Tiffany says:

This is a woman who walked in palace staff meetings with information ready to go and it shook the staffers to their core so much they launched a racist campaign against her.

These old clowns really need to find Wembley and take a seat.

  19. Lowrider says:

More Tom foolery from the carnival of experts.

  20. L84Tea says:

It’s all good because Meghan has clearly given the green light to her friends, Twitter is being lit up today with personal friends coming out of the woodwork openly supporting her. It’s a sight to behold. Someone even shared a photo of Archie!!

    • Monica says:

Thank you, L84Tea, for mentioning this. I don’t go on Twitter much anymore, but today it’s an absolute delight. Have a cup of tea and check it out, everyone!

    • windyriver says:

Patrick J Adams, Meghan’s Suits “husband”, has released a spectacular tweet thread about her, mincing no words. The final portion:

“IMO, this newest chapter and it’s timing is just another stunning example of the shamelessness of an institution that has outlived its relevance, is way overdrawn on credibility and apparently bankrupt of decency.”

“Find someone else to admonish, berate and torment. My friend Meghan is way out of your league.”

  21. Wiglet Watcher says:

Harry wanted out. He said it over many years and still says this was his call. He left peacefully and made his own way without drama. All the BRF had to do was wish him well and focus on all their own stuff. But they couldn’t let that happen… why?

    They brought this on themselves.

  22. Merricat says:

Thanks to the Palace reactionary run-up, in the global court of opinion, the Sussexes have already won. The interview will just confirm what we’ve all seen with our own eyes this week.

  23. Ann says:

Off topic somewhat, but there is definitely a cultural difference between Americans and the British: I remember in 1992ish a story about a British reporter traveling with Bill Clinton in Arkansas. Clinton pointed out his modest childhood home. Reporter couldn’t believe that Clinton would admit to such a home, that he wouldn’t be ashamed. Clinton was proud of it and rightly so. He aspired to greater things, and he got there. BRF and Rota do not understand American culture. Period.

    • BayTampaBay says:

The USA is the only country in the world, so I am told, where being born in a log cabin (Lincoln, Clinton, Biden) or being raised in a housing project (Russell Simmons, John Lewis, Sonia Sotomayor) is a benefit in politics and/or a badge of honor if you work your way up to the BIG TIME.

Stick that Yank ditty in your pipe and smoke it Ms. Carole Middleton and Lady Alice Manners.

      • Chartreuse says:

Baytampabay Australians admire their politicians from humble beginnings too and some of the old cottages are being preserved.

  24. Izzy says:

Er, how much money does Betty have hidden offshore? But sure, slag the Sussexes about money. The ones who support themselves.

  25. Vanessa says:

I think Robert has it backwards it was the palace and the British tabloids plan to drive Meghan out of the royal family of course the royal family help Meghan they help with brief the tabloids against her . The palace wanted especially William and Kate to drive Meghan out first it started with Thomas and his stunts over the wedding leaking information hoping to stop the wedding that didn’t happen . Then they started to work with damaging Meghan reputation and marriage to Harry without any children involved but then she got pregnant so they worked overtime to get her to miscarriage that didn’t work . So now that American has embraced the Sussex’s the British tabloids are pissed that their evil lies haven’t work . And the palace is the one who looking like the real bully’s the American media doesn’t have rose colored glass for the British royal family anymore .

  26. MangoAngelesque says:

I do wonder if they’re feeling a bit stupid already at the leaks that show they’re clearly not going to completely gloss the Royal Family in order to cozy up to them, as they rather snidely suggested…

  27. lanne says:

I think the British media are also showing the world exactly how the Brits could vote to shoot themselves in their own face via Brexit. These people write their own scripts, and then get angry when other people don’t play along. British journalism is a joke. Apparently it’s a medium to air personal grievances, not a 4th Estate to keep the public informed about the powers that be. They really sold the story that they could leave the EU and keep all the benefits of the EU. They thought the whole world views the royal family as some sort of global head of state, not realizing that outside of the U.K., the RF are just celebrities in tiaras and ribbons. They thought they could tell the world how to think about an American who dared to marry a Prince, and that the world would excoriate and shame her the way they do. All the RF/BM have done is diminish themselves on the world stage. All these old pasty fools are terrible representatives for the people of the U.K. they don’t understand that the sun has long set on the British Empire, and they are hastening the day that the U.K. itself is no more. Just little England and maybe Wales. Back when I thought Meghan and Harry leaving was a disaster that the RF would never let happen,I imagined a Sussex less future for the RF: the Cambridges living in a broken down Kensington palace (no money for repairs), barely ever seen, the object of jokes and scorn, while the Sussexes command attention around the world for their projects. I thought then that they weren’t foolish enough to let such a thing come to pass. Seems like I was dead wrong.

  28. Coco says:

So instead of finding someone with far greater personal wealth than Harry and continuing to act (like Salma Hayek does married to a billionaire), or marrying someone with far greater personal wealth and retiring from acting to focus solely on charity work of her choosing, she planned to marry into a family that would impose strict rules on her movements. She further planned to only allow her movements to be restricted for a couple of years and then leave (part of her plan being that Harry would definitely agree with leaving). And this plan was all in service of…ending up with less personal freedom than she had before her marriage? And she wanted this because…she’s just a chaotic evil?

  29. sassafras says:

So FLIPPING WHAT if she had a plan.

    SO WHAT.

Let’s just take that theory through its paces.

She marries a man in front of the whole world, after agreeing to upend her whole life, quit her career, submit to all the press and familial scrutiny, renovate a house and start multiple charitable projects and get pregnant and THEN her plan, two years later, was to undo everything and start fresh AGAIN in a new country with a husband and child and uncertain finances and international notoriety?

WHY. WOULD THIS BE A PLAN.

If she was just “using” Harry’s title and influence to boost her own celebrity/ finances, why wouldn’t she have just convinced him at the outset to leave? Or stayed a, you know, PRINCESS.

If this was a plan, that whole middle part of giving Royal life a go seems really useless and um, unplanned.

And if she planned all this, then oh well. Adult humans have agency and can have life goals and hers was to marry a prince and then two years later snatch him away from his family. I mean, who doesn’t have SMART goals like that? /heavy sarcasm font

  30. Aimee says:

Every person that loved Diana vowed to protect her children when the time came. Well this is it! Harry is welcome here in America and always will be. We love them both.

  31. Case says:

Lol. Harry is the one who was interested in leaving long before he met Meg. I bet they had conversations before getting married that they’d try the royal life as a married couple and if either wanted them wanted out, they’d get out. Meghan empowered Harry to do what he always wanted, and I think the backlash of marrying her was SO much more intense than either ever expected.

  32. Talia says:

If Megan had such a plan (and I don’t think she did), all they had to do to prevent her succeeding was avoid giving her an excuse (or as normal people call it, a reason) to leave. Without the racism, misogyny, constant smears to distract from William and Andrew etc. she and Harry would be stuck (assuming they/she had a multi-stage plan to leave which again I don’t think they did). They couldn’t justify leaving if it’s all roses and lavender and the press and RF are treating them well.

Or are the press now suggesting their colleagues (but not them obviously) were working for Megan all along? It’s about the only conspiracy theory they haven’t published. If so, the Daily Mail must be really dedicated to the plan to take smearing Megan using her family all the way to court and never once admitting it was all her idea. I don’t believe this for a second by the way but it appears to be the way the argument is going.

  33. Deanne says:

It’s so insulting to both of them, but to Harry in particular, to continue this narrative that he’s some naive idiot, following along blindly, while Meghan calls all of the shots and leads him astray. They frame her like she’s some sort of conniving, manipulative sociopath and he has no ability to think for himself. It’s not like she changed the University she was going to in order to stalk him, like some others who’ve married into the family. The Mail described Will and Kate as “the picture of dignity” in an article today. The way they attack Harry and Meghan at every turn and compliment the other two for doing the very least that they should be doing, is infuriating.

  34. KS says:

This conflicts so hard with their earlier argument that she used Harry to get into the royal family in the first place……

  35. ArtHistorian says:

So a royal biographer are now regurgitating talking points borrowed from internet trolls? Does he realize how stupid he sounds?

  36. RoyalBlue says:

all of those reporters have untreated mental illness. i would get help for that if i were them.

  37. Isabella says:

Wow, they are so good looking in that first shot. It looks like a caper film.

  38. Dulcinea says:

You guys need to go to YouTube and watched these fools being conned into giving interviews about the oprah interview before it has aired. It tells you everything you need to know about these “Royal reporters”
