Duchess Kate is ‘the lynchpin,’ the ‘silent power behind Prince William’

Audience at Buckingham Palace

Weird things keep happening with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the media around them. It’s clear that William and Kate’s PR has significantly diverged in recent years, especially in the post-Sussexit year. Kate’s PR is that she’s the royal revolutionary Top CEO who holds everything together for poor, weak, rage-filled, emotional William. William’s PR is that he’s the other brother, a future king who doesn’t need his charismatic younger brother and that Kate is okay because she raises the children. The other layer to this is that William and Kate are actively pushing their diverging PR onto the establishment British media – notably, the Times of London – and that the PR is dead on arrival. Hardly any other outlet really covered the recent Times articles, which is an incredibly bad sign for Other Brother and Keen Guevara. Clearly, no one is buying it. So instead, people like Andrew Morton and Katie Nicholl continue to yammer on about how Kate is wonderful because she’s voiceless, lazy and has a personality disorder which causes her to gleefully exploit murder victims and appropriate the experiences of other women.

The Duchess of Cambridge is the ‘silent power behind Prince William and keeps everything together’, while using powerful gestures to communicate like Princess Diana did, royal experts have claimed. Kate, 39, who is currently based in Kensington Palace, London, has been a pillar of strength for her husband during an ‘exceptionally hard year for him’, Katie Nicholl told OK!.

The Duke of Cambridge has ‘had to shoulder a lot of burden’, according to the royal author, including Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in which they laid bare the extent of their rift with the Royal Family.

It comes as Princess Diana’s biographer Andrew Morton told the publication that the duchess’ gestures and body language are mirroring Prince William’s late mother, who tragically passed away in a car crash in Paris in 1997. Mr Morton noted how Kate made a surprise appearance at Sarah Everard’s memorial in South London, last month, laying daffodils from Kensington Palace to pay her respects to the murdered 33-year-old marketing executive. He suggested the quiet approach was exactly the method Princess Diana preferred, with both the royals realising ‘one gesture is worth a thousand words’.

The author added: ‘It shows that Kate is someone who doesn’t have to speak out. She’s doing what Diana used to do, which is let her body language tell the story.’

Meanwhile, Katie Nicholl, who is the author of Kate: The Future Queen, told the publication that the duchess has been quietly supporting Prince William, 38, through this tough year. She explained: ‘Kate is the silent power behind William, the linchpin that keeps everything together.’

[From The Daily Mail]

The Keen Lynchpin, a Top CEO who is the pillar of strength for poor, overburdened, disorganized, emotional, enraged Other Brother. At some point, likely very soon, William is going to take issue with this. Kate is actually throwing him under the bus quite regularly now. I think the start of it was the Tatler-Catherine the Great story last year, where Kate was called “the kingmaker” and they suggested that Kate is the only reason why William is any way ready to be king. That same energy has ramped up this year, especially post-Oprah interview. Kate’s whole deal is that William can’t handle anything without her. A bad look for a Future King.

Carol Kardashian is at it again. Diana actually spoke. Regularly. And she worked. Regularly. She could even read a speech fluently. The mannequin should just stop. The embiggening campaign looks ridiculously stupid now.

    • Cecilia says:

I remember once seeing a documentary about Di, i which they showed a speech where she quite directly called out the British government for something. Can you ever imagine kate doing the same?

      • Cessily says:

Just think of the what Lady Diana could have accomplished if she had lived to Kates age.. Kate is never going to be Diana, not even close.

    • Bros says:

      She’s queen material alright.
      Stunt queen.

    • Elizabeth says:

Diana gave some moving speeches (and some FAMOUS / infamous interviews). Reducing her to “body language” is hilarious.

      • Natters says:

That was a ridiculous statement by Andrew Morton as Diana “spoke” to him and he wouldn’t have had a career without her letting her mind know.

    • PEARL GREY says:

Kate was hailed last year by the likes of Ingrid Seward and ‘body language expert’ Judi James for “wearing the pants” in the relationship simply because she introduced herself first in a Zoom call (yes, really), then the narrative briefly went back to Kate being the meek, traditional wife who needs her manly, angry protector husband to defend her and now we’re back to Kate the Kingmaker-Pillar-Backbone-Linchpin-Rock-Tower Of Strength-Power-Behind-William. Is anyone else finding this duel between Kate, Carole and William’s PR teams hilarious? They are literally all jousting each other for domination. Christmas at their house must be fun.

    • Becks1 says:

It shows you that Kate can’t even do the bare minimum of research into the woman she cosplays all the time. She sees the pictures and her outfits and thinks that’s it. She doesn’t consider the work, the speeches, etc.

    • Amy Bee says:

Diana was never silent, that’s why the rest of the family hated her.

    • Sue Denim says:

what’s also interesting if you watch old clips of Diana is how much she laughs w people, like what’s going on that gets them all laughing? And genuine laughs shared spontaneously by all. Shows her ability to connect w people, her sense of humor. One famous one was w an AIDS patient, and apparently he or his partner said to her, well you may be a princess but I’m an old Queen. Like he got that she’d laugh w him at that. There was just a humanity to Diana, even w her flaws, that neither Will nor Kate has…

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

Sue Denim you are completely spot on. Diana had likeability and approachability. Baldingham and his wife have none of those qualities. Diana had worked with children privately and in a day care/nursery setting and as a cleaner before her marriage. She was a grafter and enjoyed her work. The problem with the Cambridges is that they are lazy, they don’t care about anything or anyone and worse still they don’t apply themselves to their projects talk less of seeing anything through.

      • Lindsay says:

I heard an interview of the guy who created “Diana: In Her Own Words.” He said his biggest revelation while listening to Diana’s recordings was that she was legitimately witty and funny.

    • swirlmamad says:

It’s legit multiple times a week we are getting these asinine stories and reports now. It’s like the machine has malfunctioned and keeps spitting out the same company line over, and over, and over, and over again. ENOUGH!

    • kelleybelle says:

I swear I don’t know if I should laugh uproariously or feel nauseous when I read these BS embiggening articles. And the funny part is that the RRs KNOW there is so little to work with now, so it’s all they’ve got. I’m pretty sure they realize how pathetic it looks, yet they carry on. The stars are gone so BS is the order of the day. If I hear “Kate’s quiet power” one more time I will scream. She hasn’t an ounce of power.

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

Hey now, don’t insult Kris Jenner. Sure, they both pimped out their girls, but Kris’s girls actually succeeded in creating a business empire, while Carole’s kids were dismal failures at all their business ventures.

    • Quietly Kitten says:

Kate’s a lynchpin all right. On a grenade.

  2. BusyLizzy says:

GOD ENOUGH WITH THE KATE THE MAJISTIC PROPAGANDA.

No one is buying it really, she’s just a lazy twit.

  3. Lemons says:

I think the backlash from Willileaks camp is going to come pretty soon since Kate is now using Princess Di imagery in her PR battle.

This also shows how poorly Kate and her team understand this game. A gesture means nothing if you cannot back it up with real actions and words. Meghan visiting the memorial of a slain woman is one thing. She backs it up with her service work, her speeches, her donations, etc.

Kate visited a memorial, publicized that she sent a letter to the family, then went silent except to further promote her visit as being revolutionary. Disgusting.

    • Chrissy (The Original) says:

I agree Lemons. Kate being compared to Diana should be offensive, if not laughable, to anyone with any sense. I can see PWT going ballistic over this.

      • Princess Peach says:

I actually wonder if there is trouble in “paradise” with Willileaks. Hence why she feels the incessant need to position herself as essential.

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ Princess Peach, ahhh, there probably is trouble brewing and Keen Doucheness is pushing this narrative that Wilileaks is nothing without her!! Keen in for a big surprise!! As soon as possible, he will dump her like a hot potato, but there is nothing hot about her!!

      • Mrs.Krabapple says:

Plus, Kate has really ramped up the work on her face, to the point where she looks like a fake Real Housewife. Her face is so tight, my own face hurts just looking at her. I wonder if something prompted this surge in insecurity recently?

      • Feeshalori says:

I’m waiting for her to debut a haircut like Princess Charlene!

    • Cecilia says:

@lemons. The kate/diana comparisons were always made, especially the first few years of their marriage. “She wants to give the kids a normal life, like princess diana”. “She wants to be a hands on mom, like Diana”. It’s no coincidence that kate choose vulnerable children as her passion project. Who else was good with kids? Right! Diana. I think kate genuinely loves being a mom, but when it comes to royal work she seems more comfortable with grown-ups and elderly people actually. And then the endless cosplaying by kate to look like her mother in law.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

Yes those comparisons have always been there but never this overt – for Carole to be briefing the press with this overt Diana cosplay shows that the Dowager Queen in waiting is losing her influence over Baldrick who seems to have many ‘cunning plans’.

      • Tessa says:

Charles and Diana did not have Will and Harry out as much as Kate and William trot out the children. The little children had to be trotted out like child actors to ask and answer questions by Attenborough. They were trotted out a lot last year. And it appears that though they are trying to be seen as “normal family.” it seems that Little George has been treated as more “special: with the dynastic photos and his being the only Cambridge child to get a present from Attenborough

      • Lemons says:

The comparisons have been made, but in a soft way as was stated above. This is directly taking her memorial drive-by and making it out to be some huge gesture à la Princess Diana/Princess of the People, which is simply not true because Diana was also outspoken on the issues she cared about.

I mean, who knows, William has said some questionable, eyebrow-raising statements regarding his mother that make me think he likes Kate as the shell of Diana without any of spirit. Which is creepy.

    • GRUEY says:

@lemons to your point, the funniest line in this article was about how majestic Kate uses gestures and doesn’t need to talk (unlike that woke harlot over in montecito who won’t shut her trap about women’s rights). They are literally trying to make a virtue out do the fact that KATE. CAN’T. TALK. I just………….

  4. Snuffles says:

I hope these RR shills are getting paid upfront for this obvious PR because they’re not gonna get money from clicks. The public isn’t buying it.

  5. Millennial says:

Real talk: do we think they even live together most of the time? Post-Rose-hate, I’ve suspected they live apart at least some of the time.

    • Becks1 says:

No. I’m pretty sure William is now based primarily at Sandringham. I think pre-pandemic, he stayed at Anmer a lot by himself (or with someone who isn’t Kate) and she would be in London with the kids and would come out for school breaks or weekends and William would fly back to London or wherever. There’s a reason they built a privacy hedge so the public can’t track the helicopter.

      • Cecilia says:

I think that they’ve started living separate in this pandemic. Maybe they lived together in the beginning of it but I suspect he moved out pretty quickly, and has now been living at sandringham for most of the time. And kate drives there when they have to do a zoom together.

      • Nic919 says:

The pandemic made their separate lifestyle more difficult to hide which is why sandringham was established. Pre pandemic he could be at Anmer while she was in London with the kids and so they would only need to interact together for a few days here and there. Not being officially allowed to leave regions made that much more difficult.

      • Becks1 says:

@Cecilia I do think they lived together in the beginning of it, it probably would have been too obvious otherwise, but I think at this point people aren’t as hyperfocused on whether the royals are following the rules (I’m not sure what the rules still are in the UK at this point anyway) so there is more leeway for him to do his own thing. I think if they hadn’t started zooming at Sandringham (even if he was living there) no one would have noticed.

      • notasugarhere says:

He could have been living at the main house the entire time, while she’s been at Anmer.

  6. Dandun says:

Kate wanted to be the next Diana but instead she has ended up being the next Camilla.

She is tolerated but not loved and adored

  7. Cecilia says:

Someone desperately wants to remind william that he needs kate. I still think they will never divorce unless william found someone else he wants to marry. But seeing this got me thinking its not sunshine and rainbows in the Cambs marriage

    • Becks says:

That’s what I thought, too! If they are living apart and he has an official mistress, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is actually a PR move by her/middleton team to make Kate so vital to William’s image that he won’t divorce her. She’s trying to be loved by the people so that if he left her, the people would turn on him. That’s the real strategy here: guarantee she makes it to the throne.
They’ve both proven they will play dirty and pretend they weren’t involved… So far they’ve just been hostile toward each other. But William is going to crack first and he is going to leak something bad to put Kate in her place and make him look like a guy who did his best. Then she’ll green light the rose bush stories. And on and on.
They are both consumed with the throne–just for themselves. It’s becoming Shakespearean. These two are going to get really messy because they are so bad at all this.

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

I love this @becks. I pray it comes to pass.

      • Becks1 says:

This is exactly what has been going on for the past year now. It’s absolutely a PR move by Kate and the Middletons. This is not coming from William.

      • Cecilia says:

She’s trying to be loved by the people but these stories aren’t reaching the target audience. 😂 To be completely honest, if a divorce does come, and kate leakes the cheating story, she’ll be loved regardless. She will come out of it the most loved of the 2.

      • JT says:

Their diverging PR is somehow a clue that they won’t divorce? To me it seems like the gloves are starting to come off. William is trying to build his image as a global statesman and king, and here is Kate undermining all of that messaging. He is already in the shadow of the Better Brother and now he has to contend with Kate basically saying he ain’t sh*t. Come on now. He cannot have Kate essentially assuming the role as monarch, which is what she is doing by saying she is the key to the whole thing. They may not separate soon, but I think divorce is a possibility and I bet Will has thought about it. If Charles can get rid of the People’s Princess and William can get rid of Meghan, Kate would be a complete cakewalk. As we have seen from H&M, everything looks fine from the outside.

      • Becks1 says:

@JT – that’s exactly what we are all saying, that the diverging PR is a big sign that there is trouble behind the scenes. Kate is trying to prove how essential she is, William is trying to prove what a statesman he is (and with very little mention of Kate.) Those two PR narratives, while not the complete opposite message of each other, are still very pointed and, at this point, very obvious.

      • Anners says:

Huh. I wonder if this is why Meghan was so careful in her treatment of Kate (Oprah interview). Like, Meghan could see how toxic that marriage was, understood Kate’s endgame (queen) and PR play (people’s princess II), and didn’t want to destroy it for her, as it’s about all she has. That’s some real compassion there, if true.

      • JMoney says:

IMHO this has nothing to do with divorce. I think this has to do with titles once William ascends the throne. He will be king but will she be queen? After all, the Queen’s husband is the Duke of Edinburgh and there’s talk that Camilla won’t be Queen Consort but a Duchess or Princess once Charles ascends the throne. Carole is trying to get Kate to be loved so she is guaranteed the Queen title. Whether or not Will goes along with it I’m not sure. One thing I haven’t seen ppl point out is how Will & Kate haven’t spent Christmas with the Middletons as often as they did at the start of the marriage and that’s William’s doing. He’s purposely trying to phase them out of his life but they won’t let him.

      • notasugarhere says:

It has nothing to do with titles. If Camilla is Princess Consort, it sets the precendent that will be followed.

      • Abby says:

well dang, this is a theory that makes a lot of sense.

      • fani says:

The Middletons may be dependent on this relationship for their financial health. Methinks they will fight tooth and nail, but not thoughtfully or intelligently.

      • Bess says:

I think it’s worse than they are living separate lives at this point. If Kate’s pr team (Carol) is reminding William that he needs her for his “family man” image, something else is going on.

    • Cecilia says:

@ JT. I don’t think its as easy to get rid of kate as you might think. After all she knows too much and image is everything to W. If william is seriously thinking about a divorce his camp will start leaking some really damning stories. As of now she’s still a bit protected. Which tells me the marriage isn’t going very well but there won’t be a divorce.

      • Becks1 says:

I think William is purposely positioning himself as the strong leader, burdened by his brother’s abandonment but still willing to push through for mother england, he knows his duty and what he must do and he embraces his duty fully, he’s not “trapped” etc. he needs to build himself up first. I think at this rate, in a year, we’re going to see some very different articles about Kate.

It’s really the fact that they are so heavy-handed with this. If it had just been one article and they had moved on, that would have been one thing. But lordy they compared Kate to Che Guevara! The desperation…its obvious.

      • JT says:

@becks1 I agree. This is not a good sign at all. You cannot have the FFK being taken down a peg by his own wife, especially as he’s trying to build an image of the hyper masculine, conservative with a small c monarch.

@Cecilia Diana knew too much as well, she blasted Charles on national television and he still got rid of her. People still think Diana is some sort of psychopath because of his smear campaign against her. Kate is not beloved and he if wants to get rid of her he will. And it’s not only Kate, it’s her family as well. The Middletons are in just as deep. Carole has been taking potshots at Harry and Meghan for some time now, and you know she’s been leaking to the tabloids. Divorce may not be on the horizon soon, but people need to stop thinking that it is impossible. Like I said, if the firm could get rid of DIANA, than Kate, with all of her machinations over 20 years would be no problem. They protect the heir at all costs.

      • Beach Dreams says:

Any dirt Kate and the Middletons attempt to reveal would be crushed by the weight of the monarchy. The RF’s ties to the media will ALWAYS trump that of the Middletons. Even if Kate did try to do a Diana-style interview or reveal of Will’s dirt, he could easily have the media downplay it and give his side of the story.

I’ll also add that it’s not “just” Uncle Gary and Party Pieces’ shady finances that the RF could use to target Kate; they could put out highly unflattering stories of her time as a royal, and I’m fairly sure they could get away with it too. Look at what they’ve done to Meghan in the time she was there, and with pure slander. Imagine the anecdotes they could release about Kate, many of which are probably going to actually have an ounce (and more) of truth. Hell, they could even go the extra mile and reveal stories about how Kate treated Meghan behind the scenes, just to drive a certain narrative and cast blame for Sussexit on her.

      • Nic919 says:

Pre-covid Kate had a propensity to cancel engagements at the last minute, which is why her schedule was never announced in advance like it is for Charles. Even William had things scheduled a week or so ahead of time. They could easily create a narrative that Kate is unreliable and unable to handle the few things she even bothers to do. There are physical signs that she’s not coping well with things and William could easily paint her in a negative fashion. And because she has been nasty to Meghan, she’s already lost a large portion of people who would normally support her in this type of situation. Carole seems to forget how easy it was for Charles to paint Diana in a negative light and Diana was far more beloved than Kate ever would be.

      • CC2 says:

I think it’s easy. You know she has no guts to say it all on camera. She would have to rely on the press, and the press is definitely on the crown’s side.

    • Nyro says:

No rainbows or sunshine at all. Also, as much as he hates Meghan, I guarantee that he resents the fact that Waity is not as capable and influential as her. He hates women like Meghan and would never be able to even get a woman like Meghan but there’s no way that he’s not seeing all that the Sussexes have accomplished in a year, in huge paet thanks to Meghan’s go-getter spirit, her smarts, and her connections from her long successful career, and not looking at Waity as useless.

      • Cecilia says:

@nyro I actually think william might have a weird fixation with meghan. Like he took one look at meghan and then at his own wife and he knew he got the short end of the stick.

      • S808 says:

@Cecilia, agree! I think one reason (of many) he hates Meghan is because he knows he would’ve never been able to pull her and Harry did. Quickly.

      • Cecilia says:

@S808. To be honest, i don’t think baldy could ever be married to a woman like meghan. He’s to lazy and his ego is too big. That’s not to say he doesn’t desire them tho. i feel disgusting writing this because the thought of william with meghan makes my skin crawl. But i do think he’s a little fascinated by her.

      • Cessily says:

I see Will as an entitled middle aged bald white man turning 40 soon and the midlife crisis is here or looming, he has his heirs the wife is not a job requirement, so when and if he decides they will be divorced and the Middletons and Kate won’t be able to change that. These pr stunts look desperate.

    • Lizzie says:

Kate should be queen consort. I think Camillas title is made up becuase the public doesn’t want her to have any title that would have been Diana’s.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Lizzie, why would a title that Diana never had be an indicator of anything? It’s possible that IF Camilla is Princess rather than Queen Consort it’s because Charles wants to set a precedence and limit the Middleton’s in future. He’s got to be aware of who and what they are. At this point, I think William may be jumping on that bandwagon. There’s something big happening behind the scenes and it definitely involves the Middleton’s IMO. Will W&K divorce? Maybe. Or, maybe they’ll separate publicly. They could live completely separate lives except for the children. Who knows, but something is seriously simmering. I think we’ll know sooner rather than later. The Mids should never have taken on the Monarchy. They can’t win.

      • notasugarhere says:

Princess Consort is the less sexist option. Albert was Prince Consort, Philip would have been Prince Consort but QEII made him Duke of Edinburgh instead. Princess Consort was proposed by an MP at the time they removed primogeniture in the line of succession, but was shouted down. If Camilla is Princess Consort, however, it sets the precedent.

    • bamaborn says:

When Betty goes, all bets are off. No way Other Brother will stand for his little brother having this hot, sexy, charismatic woman on his arms. I’ve already peeped the script…”Kate didn’t understand me and how much pressure I was under.” “Harry you think me and my lady could walk the Red Carpet with you and Meghan?” Dynasty restored. Lol

    • Gabby says:

Why her reluctance to divorce? Wouldn’t she be free of royal duties in a divorce scenario, and could just enjoy a major alimony/settlement payout that sets her up for life? It’s not like she will miss the companionship or the sex becuase it is obvious she isn’t getting either of those now.

      • CC2 says:

The queen title. Thats the only thing shes sticking around for imo, and perks of hrh. The latter which i unfersfand (eg security)

  8. Kalana says:

They both have such contempt for each other. Kate’s like a twisted version of Jennifer Garner.

Kate’s not entirely wrong though that William is hugely dependent on her. William can’t stand on his two feet at all -he hides behind his Granny, Kate and the Middletons, bashing his father and brother, and using the rightwing media and the Tories.

  9. Myra says:

“Kate is wonderful because she’s voiceless, lazy and has a personality disorder which causes her to gleefully exploit murder victims and appropriate the experiences of her victims.” There will never be a more perfect description of her and her sycophants than this.

  10. Libellule says:

If she’s the power, no wonder he has no energy and willpower to do anything. She’s energy vacuum

(To be clear, I believe William is not doing anything substantial because he’s lazy AF, but these PR stories are getting ridiculous)

  11. Lauren says:

They are running so many different PR stories. The only thing certain is that Keen Guevara js trying to remind Baldingham that she is his maker. Is everything alright in camp Keen?

    • The Hench says:

I am finding it puzzling that on the one hand we have William as the Rage Monster, Future King, tearing down everyone around him and yet the one person who is actually doing the MOST to actively undermine him is his own wife. It’s Kate (or Carole) who is out there at least every week portraying him as basically weak, unable to cope alone and desperately leaning on Kate. Maybe this is her revenge….

*Kate, stroking white cat Blofeld style*
“Darling, I’m going to release another one of those stories which talk me up whilst portraying you as hopeless. Nobody bought the top CEO, kingmaker titles and those dreadful people over at Celebitchy keep publishing the photo of me with the powerpoint chart and laughing.”
Will “Um, I’m not very happy about that. I think I might get….”
“Incandescent? Were you going to say incandescent again?”
“I’m the future future King. I can do whatever I want. I…”
“have been shagging everything that moves and I have all the receipts, darling. I have recorded phone conversations with Rose and pictures of you “working out” with those mothers from school. So you are going to stay VERY quiet whilst Mummy spins another story about my brilliance. We’re going with ‘linchpin” as our next metaphor with a side of ‘power behind the throne’. ”
      Wills *silence*

I mean what else explains his failure to respond to her undermining?

      • MsIam says:

Lol! I have no idea who Blofeld is but this was hilarious. Anyway, I think its a matter of time before these competing narratives come to a head. And don’t forget about Charles who I believe would secretly love to see these two runaway trains crash into each other. I’m not saying he wants another cheating/ divorce scandal in the family but the only way he can enjoy his reign is if these two are shut down. And we know he’ll pick William over Kate and her mother any day.

      • Lauren says:

At this point, I think that aides aren’t really good at reading between the lines and do not see this Keening campaign as trying to undermine Baldingham. Keen Guevara has been sure to tell all outlets (several times) that she KNOWS that her place is behind him and to not outshine him. That must have reassured him some, only to miss completely the part where she says that she is the kingmaker, she brings the calm and great advice. Their dynamic confuses me so much.

      • Jaded says:

@MsIam – Blofeld was a bad guy in several James Bond movies, a criminal mastermind with aspirations of world domination, head of the global criminal organisation SPECTRE. He famously had a white persian cat that he stroked and petted all the time.

      • NightOwl says:

@MsIam Blofeld is a classic James Bond villain, the head of the fictional criminal syndicate. He would often pet his fluffy cat while plotting the demise of his enemies. I think Dr. Evil in Austin Powers was modeled off of Blofeld.

      • The Hench says:

What I also like about the Blofeld comparison is that he *thought* he was a criminal mastermind but actually none of his ridiculous plans for world domination ever came off and he ultimately became, as @NightOwl says, the model for a joke Dr Evil. Many parallels….

  12. Izzy says:

If this marriage implodes, the British media is going to have some serious backpedaling to do in order to to build Willieleaks back up as competent to be king without his Top CEO.

    • Jais says:

Eh the British media will just start repeating new lies over and over until the public forgets the old ones; or go on about how good they were at keeping up appearances when the marriage was really in trouble, see they’re so keen at multitasking

    • Anne K says:

I can see the media going a couple of ways. Throw Kate under the bus and blame her for the fallout between the brothers or claim Kate has been inappropriate and has been in love with Harry and jealous of any woman he dated. If it comes down to it, they can go different ways in making Kate the sole villain while protecting william

    • Becks1 says:

Why do you think we have the competing narrative from William, about how he’s the future statesman, ready to save the environment, strong and stoic?

      • equality says:

Everybody wants to accuse Kate of cosplaying all the time but Will lately wants to cosplay Charles. He even had a video on twitter the other day about an environmental “reset”.

      • notasugarhere says:

That’s William dragging on other’s coattails, nothing new.

    • Beach Dreams says:

They’re good at that, so it won’t really be a problem. Like Becks1 said, that’s essentially what they’re doing now. It also makes me wonder about that recent embarrassment of an article about Kate “royal revolutionary” Guevara. I’m convinced that the story was written to encourage mockery of her, especially because of that ridiculous image. If similarly sly “uplifting” stories about her are published with greater frequency, then I’d say she’s in bigger trouble than we think.

  13. UnionSnack says:

The more I am reading these stories about khlassi and eleghant Khate the more I suspect that there is something wrong between William and her. They didn’t and don’t love each other (for me it’s obvious), but the royal family is not very much a place for love.

But they could at least respect each other. No. He doesn’t respect her. She doesn’t respect herself and him too. I guess their marriage contract isn’t good for her so she will do everything to stay in this marriage.

The problem is if Bill won’t stay.

    • BearcatLawyer says:

Another problem is how their struggle marriage built on spreading lies and throwing people under buses affects their children. There is absolutely no doubt that Diana and Charles’ toxic marriage created Incandescent Wandering Willy. What will happen to FFFK George, Charlotte, and Louis?

The more these stories appear, the more I am weirdly proud (in a oddly maternal, protective way even though I am not old enough to be their mother) that Harry and Meghan peaced out and are building a happy, positive life in California. I cannot help but think that their children will also end up much better off than their Cambridge cousins in the long run.

  14. Merricat says:

Kate has already played her hand, and now she is extraneous. No amount of tin-eared propaganda will change that. The reason they keep yammering on about how necessary Kate is to the monarchy is precisely that she is utterly unnecessary.

    • The Duchess says:

It’s like seeing a lazy co-worker in the office brag about how crucial they are to the business, when everybody knows just how useless and expendable they are. That is what Kate is now. She’s over-stayed her welcome and she’s never been more irrelevant to everybody. Her PR proves just that.

  15. Hell Nah! says:

    Body language, you say?

Check out KG’s “body language” beside Baldimort in the header photo. I can’t help but see Charles and Diana in the level of disconnection between them.

Step right up folks, the ironies are all there for the taking.

    • notasugarhere says:

      #PigeonShrug comes to mind

    • Dee says:

Explains why they were so anxious to recreate that photo of Diana in India in front of the Taj Mahal. Desperation. Nothing to see here. . .

  16. Travelin says:

I’m starting to feel embarrassed for her! This is a constant stream of ridiculous over the top praise for a woman who barely speaks and is intellectually incurious and overwhelming dull. How many articles do they need to try to hammer in how busy, important, clever, and whatever other adjective they can come up with? Clearly we are supposed to believe that she is the most amazing exalted woman in all of Britain (therefore the entire world) and clearly has the best taste, genes, ideas, and is the only reason the British royal family is known.

Even her clothes lately have not been interesting!

Do people actually believe this stuff?

    • Coco says:

It was nice of her to wear the red dress her great-grandmother sewed for herself when she was teaching in a one room schoolhouse.

  17. Nic919 says:

Kate barely speaks, has visibly shrunk herself and is awkward at all times. She is barely able to function as an adult much less provide strength to anyone else. They need to stop with this nonsense because any other 39 year old who acted like her would have been brought directly for lots of therapy.

    • Cecilia says:

Any other 39 year old woman who acts like kate wouldn’t be able to get a job. Much less be a “king maker” whatever that even means

  18. India says:

Willy Bully Boy is not going to like this.

  19. Osty says:

So what exactly is the “silent power ” she has cos from what I read in this sycophant article nothing they wrote points to what it is

  20. NTheMiddle says:

Harry has been the scapegoat for William his whole life. Meghan was just the whipped cream and sprinkles. Now that they’re unavailable for deflection and stories shift to how necessary Kate is to William’s success, I almost feel sorry for Kate and the storm brewing…. almost. The other part of me is grabbing the popcorn.

  21. TheOriginalMia says:

Things must be really bad in the Cambridge household if we’re getting weekly embiggening articles on Kate. They are too heavy handed and too William is a simpleton and weakling who can’t function without Kate and Carole. Something is rotten in Norfolk, methinks.

Anyhoo, these stories are laughable. Kate isn’t a CEO. She’s not Diana incarnate. She isn’t the backbone of the monarchy. She’s simply a woman who will do & say anything to get the throne. I’d have more respect for her if she owned that image and stopped all the rest.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Yeah i agree – the Middleton’s are clearly undermining Baldrick, they only put out stories like this when he wanders too far away from his Top CEO and her mother. The fact that there has been so many of them means that Carol(e)’s usual tactic’s aren’t working.

The chickens are on their way home to roost – for both Cambridges and the Middletons.

      • TheOriginalMia says:

Couldn’t happen to a more manipulative group of people. They are going to put the War of Wales to shame.

  22. Cottage Cat says:

What people need to realise is that Middleton is no ingenue, and they need to understand all the baggage hanging on the horse from which she rode into town. Firstly, she has a past “working” in PR wearing tiny shorts that’s conveniently forgotten. Secondly, her ambitious Mrs. Bennett of a mother watched all the “mistakes” Diana ever made. Thirdly, the Middleton mafia have compromised the Royals into a situation where they now have enough on them to sink a battleship. Hence sending out druggy, wife-beating lout Uncle Gary to speak to the media on their behalf. Like kids in a sweetshop, they’ve got the Royals in a vice-grip.

    • The Hench says:

@ Cottage Cat – loving the phrase “all the baggage hanging from the horse on which she rode into town” lol – but if it comes to a knock down, drag out PR war between the Middletons and the Windsors then I don’t believe it’s the Middletons that will win, irrespective of how much dirt they have. The Middletons have got plenty of dirt of their own, from the dodgy finances of the eco-destroying, plastic tat generating Party Pieces, through Kate’s dodgy past, the illegal and unsavoury exploits of Uncle Gaz to Pip’s father-in-law accused of raping an underage member of his own family. When the media dogs of war are released by the RF, they will go to town on them – and, just as they hid Charles’ affair until Diana uncovered it and are currently hiding Wills’ exploits and leaving Andrew alone – they won’t publish anything the Middletons have on the Royal Family. It will be a bloodbath. I think the ONLY thing staying William’s hand right now is that he doesn’t have a Kate replacement lined up.

ETA Kate may be thinking she can keep him quiet because she has evidence of all his affairs (see my comment upthread) but, if it comes to it, the RRs will give William’s side of the story, not hers. I believe Carole is making a serious miscalculation continuing to undermine Will in embiggening Kate.

      • (The OG) Jan90067 says:

While the BM/Rota Rats WOULD be sicced on the Mids, if they (CarolE / Keen ) DO have “receipts”, they could easily go to foreign press, (and we do know that the RF doesn’t and can’t control the narrative *everywhere*), it WOULD be picked up and go viral. It will be a complete shit-show.

      • The Hench says:

@(TheOG) – yes, good point. Wills’ cheating won’t ultimately harm him inasmuch as he’s not going to not inherit or anything (as Charles’ didn’t in the end) but it will indeed be a sh*tshow.

    • notasugarhere says:

When the royal family goes nuclear against the Middletons, the royals will win. Doesn’t matter what the Midds have. William will cry manipulation by Carole and Kate (emotional and sexual), and he’ll win.

      • Becks1 says:

@Nota, our thoughts align. The royals will win. I know people keep insisting that Kate has all this dirt but – does she really? Do we think she’s been keeping notes on everything that’s been said over the past 10 years? Do we think she is keeping receipts like Meghan? Do we think she’s smart enough to understand what she is hearing sometimes, if its not spelled out for her? I believe she knows a ton about William, but the royals at large? I’m not so sure.

But, even if she does, it doesnt matter. Harry knows every single dirty secret about the royals, and look at how they attack him. Meghan knows the dirt, and look at what they’ve done to her for years now. DIANA knew the dirt, and look at what happened there.

If a blood prince like Harry is deemed “expendable” by the firm, then Kate is not exempt. Not by a long shot. And she does not have the public goodwill that Diana or Harry had.

      • Merricat says:

        Agreed.

      • Nic919 says:

I don’t know how they think having an affair is enough to take down the monarchy. It never worked when Diana openly condemned Charles cheating and it’s not going to work here. Add to that the fact that Kate has remained silent about any cheating for years and she’s going to be partly blamed for saying and doing nothing.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

Agree – whatever the Middleton’s think they have on William and the RF will never be enough or great that what the BM/RF have on that entire clan (including the in-laws).

The Middletons and their extended family have far more to hide than William – affairs and financial mismanagement can and will be covered up or marginalised.

      • (The OG) Jan90067 says:

Becks, I think the RF bank on Harry’s affection for his grandparents, and maybe even his father to a much smaller extent (even abused kids still try and gain affection from their abusing parent) to keep the lid on the real dirt while they are alive. I think if the abuse of Meghan and his kids continue, then Harry’s gloves will be OFF when it’s just Willileaks.

Then again, Harry may just go nuclear if the abuse doesn’t abate once TQ is gone. We *know* the safety and well-being of his *nuclear* family (Meg & the kids) is rightly paramount to him.

      • TheOriginalMia says:

Yep. Kate has no power, which is why she’s trying to promote herself as the savior and backbone of the BRF. She knows her power comes from William and he can yank that whenever he wants.

  23. Becks says:

I just thought… All these stories invoking Diana. She loves single white femaling her. Do you think the next move here is to set up “there were three of us in this marriage” version 2?!?!?!?! Is she going for the headline and putting all her ducks in a row?

  24. Kateeee says:

Is it weird that I see this as targeted toward William? As if their marriage is so unstable that Kate (or Mummy) has to publicly announce, daily, that she is essential to him in every way so that public pressures and/or the Firm prevent him from leaving her.

    • Becks1 says:

This is completely aimed at William. It’s a reminder that he needs her. And for now that may be true – at least his image needs her – but nothing is permanent in this family and any one besides the direct heir is expendable. Just ask Harry.

    • Sue Denim says:

I’ve been thinking the same, that it’s also a subtle threat that she has damaging stories to tell about him, and maybe receipts and witnesses.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Sue Denim, I doubt Kate has receipts. If anything in the Middleton family, you’re taught never to keep evidence around IMO.

      • notasugarhere says:

Whatever receipts she has are pointless. The Midds won’t win a PR fight against the monarchy.

  25. Harper says:

Comparing Kate’s awkward and tentative five-second appearance at the Sarah Everard memorial to any appearance by Diana is laughable. Kate did not know what to do with herself at the vigil after she put those flowers down. She paused for two seconds of reflection and then backed away very awkwardly and her body language then was that of someone very unsure of what to do next. She looked as if no one had given her step-by-step instructions. Kate looked like she wanted to be recognized and then when it didn’t happen she just slinked away. She proved she doesn’t have natural warmth and instinct to be with her subjects in unguarded moments and she certainly doesn’t have Diana’s instincts. Diana would have stood back, content that no one recognized her. Then she would have spoken to whoever was next to her and ended up hugging them. It’s okay if Kate is awkward but don’t pretend she has anything near DIana’s magnetism with people.

    • JT says:

Kate invoking Diana is a big mistake. Even William and Harry get heat for it sometimes and that is his own mother. Now you’ve got Keen Guevara feeling comfortable enough to use the People’s Princess’ image for her own PR, while calling Diana’s son weak. Wow. All while rewriting Diana as some lazy, do nothing, silent mannequin. If anybody needs to be put in their place it’s Kate.

    • BearcatLawyer says:

And then Diana would have very likely followed up by working with women-oriented charities, making speeches, and reminding people at every opportunity that women like Sarah should feel safe in their communities. Diana not only completely changed people’s perception of HIV/AIDS patients, she also hugely contributed to the abolition of land mines as a tool of war. There is no telling what she could have done campaigning against violence against women and femicide.

Kate and Carole will never understand that cosplaying Diana is just embarrassing when Kate NEVER does the actual work.

  26. MsIam says:

Again with these “Kate is the backbone” stories? That’s all I got at this point. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.

  27. OriginalLala says:

‘It shows that Kate is someone who doesn’t have to speak out. She’s doing what Diana used to do, which is let her body language tell the story.’

but, I thought Keen Guevara was a companera de la revolucion?? That level of revolutionary activism would require speaking out no?

    • Cecilia says:

Also diana used her voice quite frequently. Just listen to her speeches. And it wasn’t di’s body language that spoke for her, it was her WORK. And they way she interacted with people at said work. Kate barely works at all and she looks seriously uncomfortable with the people there sometimes.

      • OriginalLala says:

right? it’s so embarrassing – they’re just throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks

  28. Maria says:

These are getting….desperate when they used to be just laughable.
All is not well at KP.

  29. Kfg says:

It’s weird she wants to be seen as his mother. Like I get the BRF is all cool with incest, but this is getting creepy. Baldimort is probably about to kick her arse out. I think they really are trying to make her relevant so he can’t kick her out.

  30. Amy Bee says:

There’s no way to be outspoken, if you don’t use your voice. I really think that Meghan’s comments about women being able to use their voice at the Royal Foundation forum touched a nerve with Kate because since then, her PR has been pushing this notion that she doesn’t have to speak to be heard.

  31. My3cents says:

If the future of the British monarchy is resting on this woman child whose biggest achievement is learning to dress herself at 40, then it’s not looking good.

  32. Nyro says:

Will and Rose must be plotting his exit out of the marriage or something because Karole Jenner is just losing it with all these embiggening stories. She’s all over the place trying to convince everyone that Doormat’s the key to the kingdom. Pathetic.

    • bamaborn says:

Don’t understand why people think Kate is not expendable. Of the opinion Bill already has someone lined up. Just watch this play out.

      • Beach Dreams says:

I think it’s because people assume the Middletons have the upper hand via the dirty secrets of William. The problem is that the RF knows all of the Middleton’s dirty secrets in turn + whatever nasty/unpleasant things there are about Kate in her time as a royal. They also have the clear advantage with the media. Kate’s protection from the press is only as good as William and the palace allow it to be. A few quick calls and that image of perfect duchess will shatter.

On that last note, I wonder if we’re seeing it in action. The vigil stunt was dutifully praised by the media but roundly criticized by everyone else. The subsequent attempts to defend her haven’t won over anyone who wasn’t already a supporter. Also…it might be just me, but I feel like KP could’ve gone a little harder in defending her little stunt. IDK, the way they’ve handled the fallout feels weird to me. It feels careless in a way that they usually aren’t when it comes to upholding that saintly image.

Also, the recent “royal revolutionary” story was a joke, and I do feel like The Times was setting her up to get ridiculed. It’s interesting to compare with their “The Other Brother” story the previous weekend, which was shady but not super over the top like this was. Not sure if Will’s people pushed for the Keen Guevara story but it could be a bad sign for Kate if this type of “praise” occurs more often.

  33. Lowrider says:

    Diana, Diana, Diana.

They way the British royals used and abused her in life and they continue to do it in death.

The royal rats continue to let the public know Will is a clown, so you better take a liking to his wife. The Middleton will be running the clown show in due time.

    • Tessa says:

Diana had a genuine interest in charities and causes. Kate comes across as very very insincere.

  34. Over it says:

Kate, Katie , Andrew all F——-ing nuts. Notice Megs picked flowers from her garden for Remembrance Day so there goes Kate with her garden flowers for Sarah. Sigh.

  35. Heidi says:

This is a warning to Willieleaks by Ma Middleton: “Don’t you dare to divorce Kate!”

    This will be interesting.

  36. mellie says:

Good God, these articles being put out read as if these two are going to be running the world someday when in reality they aren’t even going to be running the country….they are just a couple of tourist attractions, IMO.

    • Emily_C says:

They aren’t even that. If they were gone, the public would have far more access to all the palaces, and tourism would rise. France doesn’t need royals for people to want to see Versailles. Dead people’s big old houses are huge tourist attractions in the U.S. too.

  37. Sofia says:

I’m someone who says they’ll most likely never divorce but I’m beginning to wonder if Kate feels like her status is in threat (it might not in reality) hence the weekly “The monarchy can’t survive without Kate!”

    • A says:

I don’t think it’s that Kate feels she’s under threat. I think it’s purely a vanity thing for her. She wants to feel like she is indispensable, or rather, she wants to look like she is indispensable to the monarchy, without actually having lifted a finger to prove herself as such. She thinks it’s a matter of saying the right things, and projecting the right image, rather than doing anything worthwhile or substantial.

I think both William and Kate have this idea of themselves as incredibly influential, serious players on the world stage, on par with the Queen and Charles, purely bc of their status as FFK and FFQ. I’m fully willing to bet that Kate thought that her visit to the Sarah Everard memorial was a coup, that the whole line abt her “knowing what it’s like to walk the streets of London alone at night as a young woman” was entirely relatable to modern women, that holding back and not overshadowing William is the truest expression of her power as a supporting player in the monarchy. I think this bc the whole embiggening campaign has been going on for several years now. It’s been several years of, “Kate is a HUGELY important piece of the monarchy,” as a headline. A lot of it didn’t sound like she was desperate or under threat, it sounded tone-deaf, congratulatory, and self-absorbed. And William isn’t staying married to her bc she’s so important to the monarchy tbh, so this particular tactic is useless on that front anyway.

      • Beach Dreams says:

It was definitely a vanity thing last year when she had a few stories with similar narratives in the wake of Sussexit. But those stories weren’t coming out at this frequency and they weren’t so pressing in tone. Those puff pieces were far more arrogant; these are…something else entirely.

  38. Agreatreckoning says:

Nope..there is no Diana vibe in Kate. At all.

Now after watching The Wizard of Oz movie over the weekend, I can confidently say Kate has the cackle faces, hand gestures/claw hand moves and mannerisms of The Wicked Witch of the West down pat.

Kate’s probably said in her own head while looking at a picture of Meghan, “I’ll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too.”.

    • Dl says:

Nooo the witch is my favourite!!!! Kate cannot compare..Fly My Pretties Fly😂😂😂😂

      • Agreatreckoning says:

They are both TOP CEO’s with flying monkeys. The WWOTW’s flying monkeys do seem less sinister than Kate’s -royal rotas, grey men… heehee

    • notasugarhere says:

I always felt sorry for the actress Margaret Hamilton. She loved kids, was a kindergarten teacher before she got her acting break. But from that point on, little kids ran screaming from her.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

Yes..Margaret Hamilton loved kids and animals. The things she did she did well. Loved her as Cora in the Maxwell House Coffee commercials.

  39. lanne says:

The media doth protest toomuch, methinks! What is the RF hiding about the Cambridges. You only lay it on this thick if you have something to hide.

  40. Beach Dreams says:

This is just bizarre. The fact that neither of their (Will’s and Kate’s) PR attempts have been focused on the upcoming milestone in their marriage at all, that THIS narrative is what she and Carole are highlighting…it’s extremely bizarre. It would be so easy for them to just scream “10th anniversary!” from now to the 29th but they’re clearly not doing that. Something is seriously wrong in that household.

    • Sunday says:

Yes! I just commented the same thing, it’s so completely incompetent that you have to wonder why they’re not doing it. Any PR 101 class would come up with the strategy in 5 seconds, it’s right there, so the fact that they’re not makes the whole thing incredibly suspicious. Does will not want to watch photo progressions of his hairline play out in the media? There’s literally no reason why they wouldn’t greenlight an easy, sugary media blitz. It doesn’t even require any active participation from either of them. None of it even has to be true! They’ve been staging photos and making up stuff for a decade, just remix that for the next month! It’s so crazy that they’re not, it really indicates that there’s a huge problem in camp cambridge.

      • sunny says:

It is wild that we are getting warring PR narratives instead of “William and Kate at Ten Years: There joys, milestones, and plans for the future” or some other BS. How are they so bad at this?

Like many other posters have suggested, something is clearly rotten in Camp Keenbridge if they can’t manage to get their crap together on this. Like many, I suspect they live largely separate lives and it works for them but all this PR seems to suggest that one or both sides may not longer be happy with the current arrangement.

  41. S808 says:

Cmon Carole lay off, even God rested.

  42. Sunday says:

Once again I’m just baffled at the PR choices coming out of the KP/Middleton camps. They are supposed to be leading up to their 10 year anniversary celebration (gag); there’s that photoshopped-beyond-recognition People issue, there’s a whole ITV documentary coming out… why on earth are they still pushing these insane body language / Keen Guevara / other brother stories when they should just be focusing on ‘the most romantic moments in kate & will’s love story!’ or ‘will and kate through the years’ or any other sugary spin they can cobble together from a decade’s worth of staged photos and planned moments?? But no, that’s what a competent comms team would do, so instead we get these completely batsh*t competing articles that do exactly nothing to help their image. I swear I’d half believe that they’re being sabotaged from the inside, that’s how deranged this “strategy” is from a professional comms sense.

    • Cecilia says:

Now that you mention it, i was pretty certain that as soon as april rolled around the royal rota would start these “down memory lane” stories about william and kate marriage. Sugary stories about their dating days, to marriage, to them becoming parents. But we’re not getting any of that. Instead we get competing pr. A bit strange.

      • Becks1 says:

We have their 10 year anniversary, the Queen turns 95 this month, Louis turns 3 – there is plenty there for them to put out in terms of puff pieces and “retrospectives” and whatever else they want. Pivot completely from Harry and Meghan and The Interview and just go all in on the sentiment and love story (lol) and everything else along those lines.

Instead we’re getting….Kate as Che Guevara and William as some sort of sad dictator. It’s definitely strange. They should have hired crisis PR people who could start immediately.

      • Robin says:

Perhaps writers are stalling with the dating years bit, which was near enough William being stalked by Kate and her mother. Hardly the great romance!

      • Florence says:

@Becks I genuinely believe they are arrogant enough to think “we’ve enough good PR to carry us through April so we won’t need help til May”.

  43. swirlmamad says:

Well, by all accounts and reports Will is too useless to lead the UK on his own as king, and his original foil, Harry, has peaced out. So now they’re going to push Katie Keen as his savior. It’s REALLY not a good look how they have portrayed him as someone so weak he cannot function unless he has someone bolstering him up, be it his brother or wife.

    • kelleybelle says:

Poor muffin, Kate herself couldn’t even attend the Mentally Healthy Schools engagement by herself for fear of the press. William had to come and lie to them and say his family isn’t racist. The jokes wrote themselves that day. The embiggening is a huge turn-off.

  44. Robin says:

This is a twisted narrative to work out (and also a strange one, in that it makes their marriage seem like power play and strategy, rather than love and respect). Essentially, the thrust of the majority of these current pieces is that Kate is the one who supports William and essentially keeps the show on the road. Are the writers, at the behest of Mrs Middleton, trying to make out Kate is indispensable to the royal family and/or getting their ducks in a row before the news of an affair or problems in the marriage start to unfold. If so, is that why Meghan called her a “good” person, ie a woman hitched to a bad man who makes her life a torment and a sham. If, however, Kate is simply a silent power base to a furious and bitter man, why would Meghan call her “good”? In this scenario the obvious conclusion is that Kate has been the enabler of William’s hate campaign against his sister in law. Meghan’s comment was clear and, if anyone was close enough to the action to see the true dynamics, it was her. That’s the bit that throws me and makes me think this isn’t simply a rewrite of Kate’s non achievements but a ploy to protect her once the storms come, which she’ll have to weather because they won’t divorce. I’m being an optimist here and trying to follow the path of Meghan’s very kind narrative.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Robin, it’s also possible that Meghan was trying to be fair–something that no one in the brf and bm were to her. She tried to make her information against Kate as neutral as possible and still make the point that the crying story was never challenged.

There’s been one or two whispers on social media that Kate has her own affair–who know if it’s true. I tend to think that it could very easily be true. We only see what Kate chooses to show the public, but I keep thinking there’s a lot more to her than we know. I personally don’t think she’s as helpless as she tends to portray herself. If the whispers are true, it does give William a most interesting hammer, doesn’t it?

  45. Ari says:

Yeah, Kate has so much power in her marriage that her husband openly had an affair while she was pregnant with their baby.

    • Lady D says:

Your comment makes me think that there won’t be a fourth Cambridge child, but William however, is quite vain. I wonder if he would get himself fixed so he could play freely?

  46. Jaded says:

There’s more than a little “Piers Morgan” in William. He has the same dichotomy of feelings about Meghan that Piers does – on the one hand he’s attracted to her beauty and charm, but on the other he resents her smarts, charisma and strong work ethic, and can’t stand that she sees right through him and doesn’t like what she sees. Meghan is everything that Kate isn’t and I think William resents Meghan for it. He also sees how deeply in love Meghan and Harry are, and how much they respect and support each other – then he looks at his own stale marriage to a dullard and thinks he deserves better, and as a result treats Kate like a useless piece of furniture. He truly is one messed up person but instead of trying to remedy his problems he just projects all his anger and frustration on his wife — hence the affairs — and his family.

  47. Coco says:

This is moving beyond parody of itself, and the media is going to run out of superlatives to anoint her with.
Carole Middleton: And you can quote a royal insider saying “the gorgeous young duchess is the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
Tabloid journalist: Isn’t that in the Bible? About God?
Carole Middleton: Are you saying my daughter isn’t God-like?! How dare you!

  48. Reece says:

I really don’t know what to say about these stories anymore. They’re so ridiculous.
It’s like that Whoopi meme “okay” *shrug*

  49. Jumpingthesnark says:

These PR experts coming in have their work cut out for them. This is a family that communicates with each other via the press. PR people usually need clients to be disciplined about sticking to the agreed upon message. This lot won’t do that. The BRF and Middleton will view not running to the media all the time as a curb on their power, so none of them will do it.

  50. Florence says:

Uh oh. This is going into careless territory imho. Inferring that William isn’t all he’s cracked up to be and needs Kate quietly helping him along is a surefire way to p*ss off an angry fragile man.

Plus I would like to point out Kate’s body language at Sarah’s memorial involved her walking over and standing in front of someone who was genuinely there to pay respects (the lady who turns away and looks directly to camera in the video on twitter). Pushing your way to the front of something is very grand and rude – not gentle and gracious. I know neither of those words feature at Middleton Finishing School, however.

  51. A says:

“She’s doing what Diana used to do, which is let her body language tell the story.”

Except Diana DID speak out, REGULARLY, about the need for a kinder, more compassionate society that treated the downtrodden and the forgotten with respect and basic decency.

And if Kate is letting her body language tell the story, then the story is that she’s a f-ckwit who doesn’t care abt infecting people w/ COVID bc she refused to wear a mask, who leveraged her privilege and got police protection to break the law, and got away with it.

  52. Lilly (with the double_L) says:

I’ll read comments and story soon, but I want to say thanks for the headlines that keep me chuckling lately. She’s so incompetent and the juxtaposition of the glorification is hilarious. My wish is that these efforts shrink away and the Royal Family gets confined to British interests, except M&H, and British shores. Shrink away and fare thee well (sort of) BRF.

  53. L4frimaire says:

I don’t know what the royals are doing over there but it’s getting so messy and ugly. Honestly, the best thing Kate can do is just stay silent and do her few Zoom calls and appearances, because whatever it is they’re selling for her, people are fine with it because she says nothing. It works for her. She really is like one of those blue gowned wives from The Handmaids Tale. They seem meek and subservient, project the ideal, pre-feminist housewife role, but do a lot of damage to,and are complicit in damage to, other women.

  54. Cee says:

Kate’s trying to make herself indispensable to William’s future as a Monarch. If she keeps pulling that string she will find out just how dispensable she truly is, especially since the heirs have already been born.

  55. Linney says:

Again, the contradictions in the PR campaign are so glaring. Is Kate the sweet, mild mannered stay at home mom? Is Kate the incredibly dynamic CEO of the royal family? Is Kate the one who believes her function is simply to support William? Is Kate the one who is the powerful force behind William? For Heavens sake, make up your mind! If these two nitwits actually worked, then others wouldn’t have to work so hard at coming up with these ridiculous statements. I don’t need someone to tell me a person is dynamic, etc. I can tell that for myself by their actions, and Kate’s actions show she is a very shallow person who wants the perks of being royal while doing next to nothing of value.

  56. Isabella says:

How can you be the power behind the throne when your husband is not on the throne, nor will be until Elizabeth & Charles die? This is a bad look.

  57. Lizzie says:

Silent power? I thought she found her voice, again.

  58. India says:

    She’s digging her own grave.

  59. Mina_Esq says:

She basically wants to say that she is William’s rock, but because they don’t actually have a loving and supportive marriage of equals, she doesn’t know how to do that. It’s rather sad. I know what she is trying to say, but all this is going to do is anger William and jeopardize her marriage. They are not even in the same book, let alone on the same page.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Mina_Esq, I think you’re being very kind to her. I don’t believe she is incapable of framing an article, and you can bet Ma Mids is helping her. This goes beyond her wanting to be his rock. As far as jeopardizing her marriage? I think this marriage was never a love match, but a marriage of convenience. It’s definitely falling apart. Where it goes from here, well I’ll just wait and see. If the possibility of the marriage ending, you can bet Ma Mids will be ramping up the PR. She’s worked too hard to get where she is now just to watch it disappear. I do think her influence over Willie has greatly diminished or is gone now.

  60. Liz version 700 says:

Man the 500 different PR strategies is giving me a headache. Sometimes it is OK to give people a chance to miss you

  61. Isabella says:

I think the job is confusing to Kate because for the 10 years of her marriage, she’s basically been pregnant. Only now is she free to show what she can do–and it isn’t much.

    • Tessa says:

Kate did not have her first pregnancy right away. She had approximately 2 years to work. Excuses were made for her.

  62. Cottage Cat says:

I can’t get my head around how Carole Middleton was allowed to get her tentacles and “show-pony” daughters anywhere near William.

  63. SpankyB says:

Keen Guevara is perfection. It’s cracking me up.

  64. Midge says:

This is all a clumsy attempt to show her in contrast to Meghan who “needs the spotlight and leads hapless Harry around by the neck tie”. But really it just makes William look bad.

  65. RIN JENN JENN says:

I feel like this is less about tension between Will and Kate and more about Palace PR not knowing how to market her because she’s got all the personality of a wet sponge.

The directive is to paint Kate as the perfect picture of what a Duchess should be, based on whatever hate is being slung at Meghan on a given day. But, since that hate is super incoherent, so is their ‘perfect opposite’ campaign.

  66. Tessa says:

Kate is mediocre and I don’t get why Morton compares her to DIana who was so far superior. Diana worked and had a genuine interest in causes and was far more charismatic and did not need embiggening campaigns. Kate has poor speech. Diana realized that she needed some help and got public speaking sessions.

  67. Emily_C says:

They really don’t get that one reason people continue to love Diana is that she wasn’t afraid to show that she was human. She had faults — she pushed her stepmother down the stairs when she herself was an adult, ffs — and that makes her relatable. We know that no one is perfect. The more they try to pretend Kate and Will are perfect, the more we see their absolutely glaring flaws. Being inhuman is really not a good thing.

  68. Rnot says:

In the event of a really ugly split there’s one card that Kate could play that would be very difficult to deflect or defend and that’s if she said that William was physically abusive, especially if she had photos of bruises or recordings of him in an incandescent state. It’d be very difficult to discredit. There was that old report that he pushed Diana into a wall as a teenager when he was raging about her big interview. There was that other story about Camilla being “horrified” at how William would rant and rave at Charles. Even when articles are intended to be flattering the most consistent traits used to describe him are anger and rage.

I really can’t see the Middletons going that route unless they felt that there was no other choice left but to scorch the earth and burn all the bridges, but it’s not impossible. The whole H&M thing has taught me that William has the strategic foresight of a turnip and the generosity of Scrooge. I can’t see him handling a divorce with grace or empathy.

    • There’s this one article, before Louis was born, where Kate was going to a Middleton party alone. The picture of Kate in that article was shocking. She looked distressed, very haggard, puffy-eyed like she was crying the whole time and just wiped her tears before getting off the car to be photographed. I couldn’t find that picture and article anymore in the internet. The royal family have instructed their media minions to erase that embarrassing and sad photo of Kate. They’re always protective of her.

      • A year or so after that photo was taken it was rumored that William and Rose were having an affair. But that photo was scrubbed and gone now.

      • A year or so after that photo was taken it was rumored that William and Rose were having an affair. But that photo was scrubbed and gone now.

    • Nic919 says:

There is a big gap between having a temper and being physically abusive. Even if William acted up with Diana, he was still a child. There are no stories of William being physically abusive as an adult. I am no fan of William, but there are no stories to suggest he would physically harm Kate.

    • notasugarhere says:

As Nic919 writes, no stories of it and no history beyond William being a brat as a kid. Kate is no victim here. She stalked this man for a decade and chose to marry him. Chose to allow cheating for two decades in exchange for a title and lazy life.

The Middletons have a choice, go quietly or the Institution and government will go scorched earth on them. No one likes the Middletons, no one will be championing them.

  69. The Recluse says:

This is getting ridiculous. They need to just stop.

  70. yinyang says:

    Emphasis on the “silent”

  71. FeatherDuk says:

I just realized, her teeth look way different, shorter and more square? They look great, but it kind of just smacked me in the face.

  72. Delphine says:

It will be really telling in 20 years based on the life choices of the children. Whereas the Cambridge children seem to have their lives and roles assigned to them at birth, the Sussex children will have no such restrictions and the world will be wide open for them. They’ll be raised with an entirely different set of ethics that aren’t based on primogeniture.

    • notasugarhere says:

Given the example of Harry leaving, it is doubtful all three of W&K’s kids will be working royals. It may be only their firstborn, while the other two have to go out and earn livings. As W&K are lazier and lazier, they’re digging the grave for all their kids being supported on the royal dole. They’ve proving how useless royals can be, which will be remembered when it comes time to cut the Sovereign Grant off at the knees.

  73. Chichi says:

I agree with the argument that her image and body language does all the talking- in a really negative way.

These PR people and the Cambridge’s are so far up their own behinds that they think comparisons between Keen and Diana will reflect positively on Keen. One was a powerful woman, who found her voice, made controversial statements and had so much presence she is still an icon today.

The other is a 40 year old tween who is unable to stop touching her hair, walk up straight, speak like a grown ass woman, and is constantly made small to keep her husband’s insecurities from flaring up…

  74. MerlinsMom1018 says:

Huh. If memory serves me correctly, Diana used to show up at various hospitals and such without any fanfare or paparazzi in tow.
Yes yes I know she did use the paparazzi for her own gain plenty of times but there were plenty of stories about how she would just randomly show up late at night all by herself and visit with whoever was up.
Is it true? I don’t know. But I could see Diana doing that as opposed to Kate who probably alerts her mom when she goes to the bathroom so mom can call the press.

    • Carolind says:

Diana used to show up at hospitals because her lover was a doctor. She didn’t want the public to know about him so made the excuse that she was visiting the hospital in secret in her royal capacity. That is fact.
