I’ve known he was crazy for a long time. The Q stuff is new, I guess, but hardly a shock. It bums me because Person of Interest is one of my favorite shows. I manage to block it out though. Same thing with Fraiser, who I belatedly realized is actually my idea of the perfect man. I really 100% block out Kelsey. I have to.
I loved Person of Interest. But yeah whew he has crossed into the land of terrible pillows and sedition. Yikes. I mean he has kind of always had a nutty vibe but now it is more than a vibe!!!!

it’s crazy how the same ritual murder conspiracy gets echoed over and over throughout history – the Romans said it about early Christians, medieval Christians used it (most notably and fatally) against the Jews, Catholics and Protestants accused each other during the Reformation, and then you get modern iterations like the Satanic Panic and QAnon – I wonder why this narrative is such effective propaganda to drum up hate?

(As an aside, among the other actors who have played Jesus? Oscar winner and Batman Christian Bale. Hmmmm, doesn’t seem to have caused him any issues). What that tells me is he’s full of himself and thinks he should have been bigger than what he was/is. So he’s crazy and has a persecution complex.
Get off the cross Jim (literally), we need the wood. And try memorizing your lines and not taping them to extras’ heads (which several people close to Person of Interest were confirming over the weekend that he did).

From what I hear, he’s always been quite arrogant. He used to play basketball and intended to play for the NBA until an injury sidelined that career goal. That’s when he decided to go into acting.

Caviezel has always been whackadoodle. Back in 2002, when he was filming The Count of Monte Cristo, he objected to filming love scenes between his character and the female lead (played by Dagmara Dominczyk) because kissing a woman to whom he wasn’t married would be sinful. Basicallly, he’s a slightly more talented and rather more handsome Kirk Cameron.

Jim Caviezel has always been religious, conservative. BUT WHAT HAPPENED? He’s gone straight over to QAnon extremism. He’s always been controversial, but I loved him in Thin Red Line, Angel Eyes, and Person of Interest. He’s so handsome and soft-spoken. This hurts so much because I straight up mad crushed on him.
He was terrific in Count Of Monte Cristo too. A shame, but no surprise. Right-wingers usually either get cured or get worse.

I think that’s the thing…he IS so handsome and soft spoken. When saying the words of a good writer, he can be very convincing. But when he says the thoughts that come from his own mind, he’s a terrifying monster. So many harmful people do damage because they come in a nice package, and people overlook the reality of who they are as people.
I remember reading about him when he lit up the screen and was getting lots of publicity with his screen presence and looks and riveting eyes. But he kept framing his Catholic faith front and centre and that need really reminded me of Tom Cruise. I guess he wasn’t able to simply keep work and faith separate. That kind of faith/prostelytizing is really alienating

I have heard it explained that people who are brought up in authoritarian homes, especially those that expect you to ingest religious tales as if they are factual, are predisposed in some ways to believe conspiracy theories and to look for authoritarian leaders to follow. Voila. Jim Caviezel.

Even more concerning is that I have seen “Jews for Trump” spout these beliefs and, when told where they come from, the response is largely “yes but they differentiate between ‘real Jews’ and liberal ones”

On a different Q-Anon note, I left my yoga community because so many of them came out as Q supporters. Many of them are anti vaxx as well. Gives me chills to think about how much time I spent with people and didn’t have any clue what they believed. Thinking about it literally makes me sick to my stomach.

Thanks for that–I’d never heard it. Some conservative Catholics have their own anti-Semitism (blood libel, Jews killed Christ, etc), which is where Caviezel & Mel Gibson are coming from.
Evangelical protestants have adopted the blood libel stuff due to Q, but they also have another angle. Having been raised around evangelicals, I can tell you many of them 100% believe that the second coming of Christ is dependent on the existence of Israel. And they believe that when the end-times come, Jesus will Rapture all of their asses off the planet with whichever Jews convert to Christianity in time. That’s why they can reconcile their anti-Semitism with their version of Christianity. It’s nuts, but lots of people think that way.
the evangelicals hated us Jews long before Q – protestantism continued to buy into & preach the blood libels and the whole Jews murdered Jesus crap. I went to school in the bible belt and the girl across the hall took me home with her one week-end to show everyone she’d met a Jew – her little sister asked me where my horns were. @pottymouth pup — Just to be clear, I totally agree. Anti-Semetism was so obvious when I was growing up with evangelical protestants (also in the bible belt). They clearly disdained Jews unless it suited their purposes. My husband & his family are Jewish, though not particularly observant. He’s from the Northeast in the US & it was a shock for him to move to the South, though fortunately our community is very open & accepting. I mainly posted because so many people don’t know how baked-in anti-Jewish sentiment is in many “Christian” communities.

I think the conspiracy is that they take blood from children and steal the adrenochrome, which gives them youth and energy. Slight variation of an old antisemitic trope. I don’t understand how anyone can believe this nonsense.
This is a sad horrible nightmare on so many levels. The abuse, rape and murder of children happens everyday. We are all sickened and heart broken. This Qanon insanity just obfuscates the epidemic we face. Too bad he didn’t decide to use his platform to speak the truth.

It astounds me how much Hollywood conservatives like to portray themselves as victims of the “liberal elite.” I guess it never occurs to them that they’ve already beat the odds by becoming even slightly famous as actors. They certainly aren’t self-aware enough to consider that their perceived lack of fame might be related to lack of talent. It’s pretty obvious that hollywood will overlook a lot of character flaws if someone is talented enough and able to fill the theater seats.
I think what is scarier to me other than this man himself talking about it, is that people are taking this as confirmation that because he is from Hollywood he has seen or heard about this directly and they’re seeing it as a confirmation of this being true. People are out there praising him for “speaking the truth”. I feel this is about to get worse.

I agree with you that everything going on now is pure madness and I hate to think it might get worse but never underestimate what the Q people are capable of doing. (I had people that were friends before who got into it and some of the things coming out of their mouths were right down scary, hence the reason they are no longer friends)

Adrenochrome can be created in a chemistry lab. You can also just buy it if you need it for experiments at a chemistry lab supply store. There is no need to “harvest it.” It’s insane.
Ya know, I want to tell these geniuses that adrenaline is the same thing as epinephrine which you can get in an epipen from the pharmacy, but I’m sure they’d just call that fake news.
