I’ve known he was crazy for a long time. The Q stuff is new, I guess, but hardly a shock. It bums me because Person of Interest is one of my favorite shows. I manage to block it out though. Same thing with Fraiser, who I belatedly realized is actually my idea of the perfect man. I really 100% block out Kelsey. I have to.

    • Liz version 700 says:

I loved Person of Interest. But yeah whew he has crossed into the land of terrible pillows and sedition. Yikes. I mean he has kind of always had a nutty vibe but now it is more than a vibe!!!!

    • Mac says:

He is regurgitating anti-Semitic conspiracy theories from the middle ages. I guess he forgot Jesus was Jewish.

      • Liz version 700 says:

Yeah those theories are gross just really gross

      • Betsy says:

No, they don’t think of Jesus as Jewish. Oddly.

      • ElleV says:

it’s crazy how the same ritual murder conspiracy gets echoed over and over throughout history – the Romans said it about early Christians, medieval Christians used it (most notably and fatally) against the Jews, Catholics and Protestants accused each other during the Reformation, and then you get modern iterations like the Satanic Panic and QAnon – I wonder why this narrative is such effective propaganda to drum up hate?

    • Elizabeth Phillips says:

He’s always been a nutburger. He’s just added the Qanon crap to the rest of his looniness.

    • Ewissa says:

Same here.I love both shows ( actors however in they real life not at all)

  2. snappyfish says:

Please never forget that when Caviezel was in the Jesus chainsaw massacre (otherwise known as Passion of the Christ) he made a PSA opposing stem cell research in….Aramaic!!! Seriously dude seems to think he was Jesus. That is what you are dealing with when this idiot opens his mouth.

    • tealily says:

I’ve never heard it called that and I think you for this gift.

    • Mia4s says:

He also likes to go on about how he was blacklisted and his career damaged because he dared to play Christ….saying this even though he had a television show on a major network that ran for FIVE YEARS. (As an aside, among the other actors who have played Jesus? Oscar winner and Batman Christian Bale. Hmmmm, doesn’t seem to have caused him any issues). What that tells me is he’s full of himself and thinks he should have been bigger than what he was/is. So he’s crazy and has a persecution complex.

Get off the cross Jim (literally), we need the wood. And try memorizing your lines and not taping them to extras’ heads (which several people close to Person of Interest were confirming over the weekend that he did).

      • FancyHat says:

Now that is the tea I am here for. I love gossip about behind the scenes on tv shows. Those poor extras.

      • Liz version 700 says:

        OMG what a…wow

      • Tiffany :) says:

        Well said, snappyfish and Mia4s!

      • Elizabeth Phillips says:

Doesn’t seem to have destroyed Willem Dafoe’s career, either.

      • Valerie says:

Playing Jesus didn’t hurt Ted Neeley’s career 😀 I guess ol’ Jimbo would be pretty mad about that.

      • Mcmmom says:

Let’s not forget Willem Dafoe – his career also survived playing Jesus.

      • Darla says:

Oh how interesting. He was kinda wooden in that role, but I thought that was okay for the character. This info is pretty funny.

      • Lucky Charm says:

From what I hear, he’s always been quite arrogant. He used to play basketball and intended to play for the NBA until an injury sidelined that career goal. That’s when he decided to go into acting.

    • ab says:

“Jesus chainsaw massacre” is the laugh I needed today, thank you for that 🤣

    • booboocita says:

The Catholic writer and historian Garry Wills wrote that he and his wife burst into laughter as they watched the crucifixion scene in Passion of the Christ — not because Christ’s suffering was funny, but because the great gouts of blood flowing from Caviezel’s body would have had him fully exsanguinated in a matter of seconds, had he really been bleeding.

Caviezel has always been whackadoodle. Back in 2002, when he was filming The Count of Monte Cristo, he objected to filming love scenes between his character and the female lead (played by Dagmara Dominczyk) because kissing a woman to whom he wasn’t married would be sinful. Basicallly, he’s a slightly more talented and rather more handsome Kirk Cameron.

      • Abby says:

blergh I hate to hear it. I knew he was on the crazy side of christianity (very apt analogy to a more handsome Kirk Cameron). But I LOVED Count of Monte Cristo and Person of Interest. Yikes.

Adding on Q kind of surprises me, but it shouldn’t.

  3. Mireille says:

Jim Caviezel has always been religious, conservative. BUT WHAT HAPPENED? He’s gone straight over to QAnon extremism. He’s always been controversial, but I loved him in Thin Red Line, Angel Eyes, and Person of Interest. He’s so handsome and soft-spoken. This hurts so much because I straight up mad crushed on him.

    • Deering24 says:

He was terrific in Count Of Monte Cristo too. A shame, but no surprise. Right-wingers usually either get cured or get worse.

      • cassandra says:

I love that movie so much!

13 year old me had a lot of feelings for him in that move. And Guy Pierce.

      • Abby says:

Yes Cassandra. AND Henry Cavill. I was so in love with all of them as a teenager.

      • Mabs A'Mabbin says:

        Omg. Guy Pierce.

Watching Person of Interest this very second. Weird.

      • Penguin says:

oh Count of Monte Christo. Still remember watching that around 14-15 being like 👀 What a shame he turned into such a deplorable human being.

      • deering24 says:

Lotta cherce man-candy in that movie. And even playing a Villain In the Key Of Sneering, Guy Pierce was smokin’. 🙂

      • Golly Gee says:

Guy Pearce is amazing. I loved him in Memento and L.A. Confidential.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I think that’s the thing…he IS so handsome and soft spoken. When saying the words of a good writer, he can be very convincing. But when he says the thoughts that come from his own mind, he’s a terrifying monster. So many harmful people do damage because they come in a nice package, and people overlook the reality of who they are as people.

    • one of the Marys says:

I remember reading about him when he lit up the screen and was getting lots of publicity with his screen presence and looks and riveting eyes. But he kept framing his Catholic faith front and centre and that need really reminded me of Tom Cruise. I guess he wasn’t able to simply keep work and faith separate. That kind of faith/prostelytizing is really alienating

    • Betsy says:

I have heard it explained that people who are brought up in authoritarian homes, especially those that expect you to ingest religious tales as if they are factual, are predisposed in some ways to believe conspiracy theories and to look for authoritarian leaders to follow. Voila. Jim Caviezel.

  4. nutella toast says:

I’m so glad you posted this – I was going to send it to you yesterday, but I knew you’d catch this crazy story. At this point, it’s a health hazard and a security threat to have this kind of lies spreading around. It’s nauseating.

  5. Sarcasm101 says:

The level of nuts going around these days, reading things like this doesn’t shock me. Never watched POTC but he seemed insane BEFORE that movie.

  6. pottymouth pup says:

for those of you unfamiliar with the adrenochrome BS Caviezel is pushing – that and a bunch of other QAnon conspiracies are based on blood libel against Jews and other antisemitic tropes, and coupling them to dog-whistle “Hollywood liberal” just reinforces the antisemitic underpinnings of what’s being spread by the right. Even more concerning is that I have seen “Jews for Trump” spout these beliefs and, when told where they come from, the response is largely “yes but they differentiate between ‘real Jews’ and liberal ones”

    • Asking for a friend says:

Ugh! Thanks for this info – I didn’t know, but I will have to inform myself on this issue.

On a different Q-Anon note, I left my yoga community because so many of them came out as Q supporters. Many of them are anti vaxx as well. Gives me chills to think about how much time I spent with people and didn’t have any clue what they believed. Thinking about it literally makes me sick to my stomach.

    • booboocita says:

There’s a bit of Victorian doggerel, attributed variously to William Norman Ewer and Ogden Nash:

How odd of God to choose the Jews,
But not so odd as those who choose
      A Jewish God
      Yet spurn the Jews.

You really have to wonder about Christian antisemites. There’s an oxymoron if ever there was one.

      • Lizzie Bathory says:

Thanks for that–I’d never heard it. Some conservative Catholics have their own anti-Semitism (blood libel, Jews killed Christ, etc), which is where Caviezel & Mel Gibson are coming from.

Evangelical protestants have adopted the blood libel stuff due to Q, but they also have another angle. Having been raised around evangelicals, I can tell you many of them 100% believe that the second coming of Christ is dependent on the existence of Israel. And they believe that when the end-times come, Jesus will Rapture all of their asses off the planet with whichever Jews convert to Christianity in time. That’s why they can reconcile their anti-Semitism with their version of Christianity. It’s nuts, but lots of people think that way.

      • pottymouth pup says:

the evangelicals hated us Jews long before Q – protestantism continued to buy into & preach the blood libels and the whole Jews murdered Jesus crap. I went to school in the bible belt and the girl across the hall took me home with her one week-end to show everyone she’d met a Jew – her little sister asked me where my horns were. The folks in campus crusade would flip out that I had no interest in converting and bring up the same antisemtic tropes that have been going around since before (the very antisemitic) Martin Luther nailed the 95 theses to the church door

      • Lizzie Bathory says:

@pottymouth pup — Just to be clear, I totally agree. Anti-Semetism was so obvious when I was growing up with evangelical protestants (also in the bible belt). They clearly disdained Jews unless it suited their purposes. My husband & his family are Jewish, though not particularly observant. He’s from the Northeast in the US & it was a shock for him to move to the South, though fortunately our community is very open & accepting. I mainly posted because so many people don’t know how baked-in anti-Jewish sentiment is in many “Christian” communities.

    • J.Mo says:

Thank you for this info. I haven’t wanted to wade into conspiracy theories but want to stay aware of anti-semitism. I didn’t know the background and will be more inclined to look into it now.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I think the conspiracy is that they take blood from children and steal the adrenochrome, which gives them youth and energy. Slight variation of an old antisemitic trope. I don’t understand how anyone can believe this nonsense.

  7. K says:

This is a sad horrible nightmare on so many levels. The abuse, rape and murder of children happens everyday. We are all sickened and heart broken. This Qanon insanity just obfuscates the epidemic we face. Too bad he didn’t decide to use his platform to speak the truth.

  8. Christa says:

His craziness is why Mel Gibson, another loony toon, cast him in Passion of the Christ.

  9. Coji says:

It astounds me how much Hollywood conservatives like to portray themselves as victims of the “liberal elite.” I guess it never occurs to them that they’ve already beat the odds by becoming even slightly famous as actors. They certainly aren’t self-aware enough to consider that their perceived lack of fame might be related to lack of talent. It’s pretty obvious that hollywood will overlook a lot of character flaws if someone is talented enough and able to fill the theater seats.

  10. Mel says:

I think what is scarier to me other than this man himself talking about it, is that people are taking this as confirmation that because he is from Hollywood he has seen or heard about this directly and they’re seeing it as a confirmation of this being true. People are out there praising him for “speaking the truth”. I feel this is about to get worse.

    • Desdemona says:

Even more? I think the entire world has gone insane ( and I’m being nice, very, very nice),,…

      • Mel says:

I agree with you that everything going on now is pure madness and I hate to think it might get worse but never underestimate what the Q people are capable of doing. (I had people that were friends before who got into it and some of the things coming out of their mouths were right down scary, hence the reason they are no longer friends)

  11. Tiffany :) says:

Yikes! I thought the Rumor Willis link was just going to be a street-fashion post, but after it got blocked, I see the story is about her being nude. Just a heads up.

    • Kkat says:

It’s about her wearing Kim K underwear called skims in the COLOR nude.
      She isn’t naked.
      Sheesh

      • Tiffany :) says:

As I noted in my post, I couldn’t get to the actual story, my work computer blocked it. 😉 The link title must have been enough to trigger a block, because it sounds suggestive.

  12. Chaine says:

Rumer Willis is so sad. Approaching middle-age and just trying hard to cosplay her mom’s glory days.

  13. Desdemona says:

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is the “adrenochroming of children”

    • Desdemona says:

      Thanks, found it-… Just crazy…

      • Juniper says:

Adrenochrome can be created in a chemistry lab. You can also just buy it if you need it for experiments at a chemistry lab supply store. There is no need to “harvest it.” It’s insane.

  14. Niteowle says:

Ya know, I want to tell these geniuses that adrenaline is the same thing as epinephrine which you can get in an epipen from the pharmacy, but I’m sure they’d just call that fake news.

  15. Valerie says:

So, he heard all about it, was horrified, and instead of going to the authorities, he made a documentary about it. Must be new protocol.

  16. Lila says:

Ugh what a bummer. I love both Frequency and Person of Interest.

  17. JosieRockhead says:

If you ever saw the Denzel Washington movie Deja vu with Paula Patton, Jim Caveziel basically played his ole crazy self. Crazy eyed, domestic terrorist inclinations.

  18. The Recluse says:

I love the Ghost Brothers. Once in awhile one of them will get a phone call from their significant other/wife/girlfriend and the conversations are funny. The women are like ‘don’t bring any ghosts home with you!’

  19. SM says:

He always seemed like a nut job. but here is the question, how come those Covid conspirators end up “joining events “virtually”? shouldn’t they also actively oppose social distancing and quarantine? Why isn’t he “amongst his people” mingling and hugging all kinds of strangers who do not mask up and avoid vaccines?
