Last night I wasn’t that tuned into everyone who was captured on camera. It was hard to notice everyone, and I didn’t really see Chadwick Boseman’s wife, Simone Ledward. She may have been in the back section with the individual chairs but she wasn’t at one of the Ma Rainey tables and she wasn’t on the red carpet. Her stylist shared photos of her custom made Versace gown though and I wish we got to see more of it. Just Jared has the details on the craftsmanship that went into this gown, which took 360 hours to make and has Swarovski accents and a gold band along the neckline and sides. I absolutely love it. Look at the pleating, draping and tailoring, it’s exquisite. I was super sad that Chadwick didn’t win Best Actor, I really expected him to, but Anthony Hopkins did give an amazing performance too. As Kaiser wrote in our open post, there was likely some vote splitting happening.
Renee Zellweger was another actress in a bright neon gown last night. I was hoping that would be trending, but there weren’t many actresses in bright gowns apart from Renee, Simone and Zendaya. I like the idea of this gown, a column gown with a delicately folded-over bustline and a restrained accent line of sequins, more than the execution. Renee presented Best Actress.
Been thinking about Chadwick and his wife, Simone Ledward Boseman, all day. I can’t imagine how hard this awards season has been for her. Grateful for how she has honoured her husband but wishing her peace and privacy after tonight. #Oscars

Renee looks 30 years old in this photo. Dang it makes me think about some cosmetic procedures.
In that one picture she looks 30. She could look completely plastic in other pictures. I didn’t watch the show, so I don’t know how she looked, but please don’t base any idea of cosmetic procedures on just one picture.
Mrs. Boseman looks absolutely stunning. This was the high glamour fashion I felt was deeply lacking on the carpet. Just perfect.

It looks like a mall prom dress to me- maybe because it is too peach coloured?
Close up you can see the intricate detailing, but as a whole it looks cheap.
I made the same comment. At first, when scrolling I thought it was going to end up looking beautiful. By the time I scrolled to the bodice I noticed that it was going in the Prom dress direction. She’s gorgeous and I hate that the season ended the way it did for her.
I just don’t understand making her go if they knew he wasn’t going to win.
They didn’t. They don’t tell the producers who the winners are.
Someone knew he didn’t win. The Academy isn’t the Pentagon. Someone could’ve told her.
So folks should only show up if they are guranteed to win !?And would that be fair to other nominees to tell her that her late husband didnt win? And that would open up alot of inquiries on how secretive the winners list truly is.
I think this was special circumstances. Nobody is saying folks should only show up if they win. Personally I feel that only babies really believe no one knows who won. I’ll buy that the nominees don’t know…well, most years.

It was cruel what was done to her especially since I don’t believe production didn’t know since they purposely switched Best Picture with Best Actor to keep the audience there till the end. It was sh*tty and avoidable.

As for Renee, the color is good. That’s all I have.
Not a fan of the dress… she is beautiful though! I’m sad Chadwick Boseman didn’t win. He was a phenomenal actor.
I love the cut and color of Simone’s dress, very unique and beautiful. It makes Renee’s look a little washed out in comparison. But Renee looked really good, for once her hairstyle seems worthy of a formal gown.
The colour on Simone is fantastic. It suits her so well. But not a fan of it and the dress in general on Renee
Simone looked beautiful and served body. Wish i had her curves!!! The dress isn’t my fave but she looked radiant nevertheless!

I’m sorry Chadwick Boseman didn’t win since this was his last opportunity to do so, but at the same time…I actually felt Hopkins deserved it more. Boseman’s acting in Ma Rainey was quite theatrical and while he was good, it didn’t quite work for me for the screen.
It was a bad choice for the Oscars to assume Boseman would win and do that category last. I was shocked to see Best Picture before the final acting categories. Since Hopkins didn’t attend or make a video, it ended so anticlimactically.
I kept wondering where she was last night. When I saw these photos, it took my breath away. She’s beautiful and the dress is STUNNING. My favorite of the night now that I’ve seen it. (And I feel a connection with her because she’s from nextdoor to my hometown.)
That neck piece or whatever that’s attached at the top of Simones dress ruins it for me but the color is gorgeous! Like Renees dress but don’t like her hair.
Simone’s dress was my favourite. Everything about it, the color, the cut, fabric, the detail.

Love these bright happy colors in such a hard time, and Simone’s dress is gorgeous on her. She is a stop traffic kind of beauty.
I also love this color on Renee, but I wish she wouldn’t wear such structured pieces all of the time. She has incredible shoulders and legs, I’d love to see her in something less Renee,
I’m not a fan of the color of her dress, I think that’s what’s throwing it off for me. But the fit is spectacular and she looks beautiful. I was sorry to hear he didn’t win, but I’m glad he was honored with many other awards this year, and she has been remarkable in dealing with it all.
