Last September, Christina Anstead (as she was called then) announced rather suddenly that she and Ant Anstead were getting a divorce after less than two years of marriage. If you have a “???” thought bubble over your head right now, congrats on never watching HGTV. Christina Anstead used to be Christina El Moussa, married to Tarek El Moussa, and they were the Flip and Flop couple. They have two kids together, a thriving house-flipping business and a successful HGTV show. When they divorced, they figured out their stuff quickly and stayed in business together. Christina moved on with Ant Anstead, got married and had a baby, and they did a different HGTV show together, Christina on the Coast. No one knows what happened in the Anstead marriage, only that it ended swiftly and the divorce *just* came through. Enter… Renee Zellweger?? My God!
The ink’s barely dried on Christina Haack’s divorce papers with ex-husband Ant Anstead and he’s already moved on to a big-time Hollywood star … Renee Zellweger!!! Sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell TMZ … Ant and Renee met earlier this month when they filmed an episode of his new Discovery+ show “Celebrity IOU Joyride.”
Well, as luck would have it … we’re told after Ant and Renee filmed their episode she actually returned to the set at some point to drop off some work boots for Ant. It’s unclear when exactly they decided to go out, but our sources say they’re doing exactly that now.
The dating news comes just days after we first reported Christina and Ant’s divorce was finalized. They’ll share custody of their 1-year-old son, Hudson, and Ant has 2 kids from a previous relationship.
“Celebrity IOU Joyride” is a 6-episode series where Ant and co-host Cristy Lee help celebs give one of their loved ones a one-of-a-kind car transformation. Some of the other celebs include Mary J. Blige, Tony Hawk, Octavia Spencer, James Marsden and Danny Trejo. The series is a spinoff of “Property Brothers” twins Drew and Jonathan Scott’s HGTV hit show “Celebrity IOU.”
Renee Zellweger remains the most random person and the most random dater ever in Hollywood. You could never predict who she’ll end up with. Who has this kind of dating history: Jack White, Kenny Chesney, Jim Carrey, Bradley Cooper, Doyle Bramhall II and now Ant Anstead?? It’s like she’s picking names out of a hat. Will Christina get her back up about this? Will there be sly references to Renee Zellweger on Flip or Flop? Stay tuned to HGTV to find out! Not exactly on topic, but seeing the photo of Renee in that dress with that umbrella made me realize that Kate (probably) totally copied her entire look last week when she wore an LK Bennett dress in a similar color and the same exact umbrella.

My takeaway from reading this is I really want to see Danny Trejo’s and Octavia Spencer’s cars. Bland Renee and this random philandering Ant guy aren’t going to last but Danny Trejo’s car is probably super cool.
I like Flip or Flop show, and wonder what happened with Christina and Ant. The whole thing is very weird and random. This is the most I’ve heard of Zellweger since Judy. She is totally underutilized as an actor now and it’s disappointing.
I like it too, and after the awkward season right after they split the show, as well as Tarek and Christina, seems to have its groove back again. Even divorced, the OG Flip or Flop continues to thrive while none of the other versions has really caught on.
Because I’ve been awake since 3 am with a migraine I thought it said Adam Ant, and I was like “damn, I can totally see that somehow” and now I’m disappointed.
I now have an image of Renee shouting “STAND AND DELIVER!” at Adam Ant in a moment of passion and this would definitely be more entertaining than the flipping Ant.

I think it was a rebound relationship for Christina and she fell out of love pretty quickly with Ant. It sounds like Ant had a very difficult time with the divorce. I’m glad he’s dating again.

I don’t think they got married because she was pregnant. I think they got married and she quickly got pregnant, which came as a surprise. She had fertility struggles and needed treatment to get pregnant in her first marriage, so she didn’t think she needed to be so careful. That was the impression I got. I watched the episode of Christina On The Coast where she told her friend. I could be wrong of course.
I’ve heard her say she went to some kind of herbalist dr who did needling to help her get pregnant, and I’ve heard her say her last baby was a surprise, and the reason they used IVF with her other kids was because tarek had testicular cancer, so who know what the truth is?!
Apparently Renee Zellweger is very close friends with Andre Leon Talley, which I discovered while reading The Chiffon Trenches. As for her romantic pairings, I don’t see her taste in men as all that shocking–they have different personalities but they are all famous and white. She is massively ambitious so choosing people who are also famous but not necessarily as “big” as she is (with the exception of Carrey, and possibly Jack White) makes sense.
Also, she dated Jim Carrey fairly early on, I think, and he’s a notoriously complex and sad person. (I have a friend who dated one of his ex-girlfriends for a while.) I have a massive soft spot for him because he’s taken his free time to paint and satirize the ridiculous politicians of our time. Also because he seems like he worked so hard to support his family and make them proud of him. He seems difficult in particular ways, but I can see why people would have a strong affection for him.

He makes my skin crawl. He’s so blatantly sexist and abusive but shrouds himself with the woke/and I have a mental illness thing. He has demonstrated throughout his life how he views women and I believed her, and still do, when it came out that he abused Catriona White. Two of the above mentioned men that Reneé went out with are rumored to be gay. When Ant and Christina announced their separation I thought it had to be really serious to leave your new husband that you just had a baby with, so I thought maybe she found out he was gay or bisexual and that was a deal breaker for her. Some women are attracted to these type of men unconsciously…just a theory.
Kenny Chesney has never been rumored to be gay — there was speculation when they divorced/annulled? because she cited fraud and “gay” seems to be the go to slur/innuendo on the gossip boards …which was gross a decade ago — we should be beyond it in 2021… but here we are.
To my knowledge, none of the men on the list identify as gay.

I’m a Flip or Flop fan but watched one episode of COTC and never again! I was always curious why her and Ant went down in flames so quickly. Maybe the real story will come out at some point. He seems like a total publicity douche to me.

I think Ant is a nice guy. Comes across well in the car shows I’ve seen him in and a good dad. I think it was a case of too much too quickly with Ant and Christina. I felt like she was trying to beat her ex in the moving on stakes.

Nobody has yet commented that Ant is SUPER famous in the UK as half of a very popular presenter duo from the 90s (when I lived there for a year), Ant & Dec. I believe he has maintained a pretty high profile for 20 years. What’s super random to me is that he hooked up with a B celeb (being generous about Christina’s level of fame) from the US who is at least somewhat age appropriate, with kids already. Renee is much more of an equal match on a fame level.
This guy is not Ant from Ant and Dec, and he is not super famous in the UK. He did a couple of tv shows about cars and that’s it.
