Duchess Meghan’s Ellen interview has predictably set off the unhinged British media

meghan ellen1

Genuinely surprised that so many people were ripping the Duchess of Sussex to shreds for appearing on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show. While Ellen definitely heavily contributed to the toxic work environment on her show, let’s not pretend that every single one of Ellen’s famous friends hasn’t already appeared on her show this year. This is what I said yesterday: if you hate Ellen and find her problematic, and you think Meghan is terrible for appearing on The Ellen Show, then you better hold every one of Ellen’s guests to that standard, even your faves.

I don’t know when we’ll get the full video of Meghan’s appearance, but the show did release another tidbit from the interview. Meghan revealed that Lili Diana is teething and and they’re looking for ways to relieve her pain. Ellen suggests “tequila, anything” and Meghan laughs and says “That’s Auntie Ellen for you.” I’ve said before that I grew up in a generation where it was perfectly acceptable to rub brandy on a teething baby’s gums but apparently that’s “problematic” now too. Ellen also asked Meghan if she and Harry were loving California and Meghan told her, “We’re just happy.” Good.

As you can imagine, the whole interview hadn’t even come out yet and the British papers were already screeching. The Daily Mail had a hilariously obsessive piece about HOW DARE Meghan pretend to have a past as a struggling actress with a beat-up car because obviously… Meghan went to a private Catholic school, or something. The Mail really doesn’t want people to think that Meghan lived a pretty normal life before she met Harry. But the funniest/dumbest sh-t was troll-amplifier Angela Levin throwing a hissy fit to the Sun:

The Duchess of Sussex was a barrel of laughs as she joked candidly about life before joining the Royal Family in a sneak-preview clip of her appearance on the Ellen Show – set to air tomorrow.

But Angela Levin blasted “ruthless” Meghan as “desperate for publicity” for carrying out the interview amid the Queen’s latest health scare. The 95-year-old monarch has cancelled four public appearances in just one month – including this year’s Remembrance Sunday service. Angela said it is not the first time Meghan’s interview choices have been questionable, after the “extraordinarily bad timing” of her bombshell Oprah tell all.

The expert, and author of Harry: A Biography of a Prince, told the Sun: “I think the palace dread everything she says because she can be so rude. The interview with Oprah was bad timing. Prince Harry’s grandfather was ill. It is all about what is good to her. She’s ruthless and she thinks of herself first.”

“Meghan was acting that everything was wonderful and so funny and isn’t she sweet and a bit shy. And it’s not going to work really. She’s trying to be a really natural ordinary girl. She’s desperate for publicity, desperate for people to watch and see her. There’s a saying, ‘people who go to the opening of an envelope’… Meghan will interview anywhere people want her.”

[From The Sun]

To Angela Levin, Meghan will always be that bitch eating crackers. Meghan breathes, laughs, smiles, sits and Levin is ready to unload on how Meghan is desperate for oxygen like the rudest person she’s ever met! As for the Queen’s poor health… weird that didn’t come up when Jason Knauf and Prince William orchestrated that bullsh-t last week at the Mail on Sunday hearing.

So much projection from the deranged and desperate angeLIE. Bitch please.

    • Elizabeth Regina says:

Poor Devilla. Her legacy is a crap childhood, crap teenage years and a crap adulthood of her own making. Even as she has now entered her sunset years, the bitterness, bile and envy she has stored up inside of her for Meghan is destroying her peace. She is old and knows her best years are behind her. The best she can hope for is be a parasite who tries to destroy the host it latches on to. Meghan on the other hand is unbothered and moisturised and has years of happiness, fame and fortune ahead which she would spend with her children and Prince Harry.

    • CherHorowitz says:

Seriously. I side eyed the choice of interviewer because of the inevitable headlines, but it is unhinged to use the ‘opening of an envelope’ line. Does she really think she hasn’t had a million interview offers!? And that she just accepted the first and only one she got!?!?

      • Christine says:

That’s what bugged me as well. As if every single interviewer on the planet (besides the horrible Piers Morgan) wouldn’t KILL to interview Meghan on their show. Who shows up to the opening of an envelope? Oh, yeah, that would be Angela Levin.

    • Isabellla says:

Yes, projection. Calling Meghan “desperate for publicity.” Hilarious

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ Isabellla, I think that the issue is that Lying Angela would be thrilled to be interviewed by a nationwide talk show host, hence why she is a bitter bitch to all lengths! Lying Angela has become a dried up prune with the ability to make people gasp from looking at her! May she never have peace or happiness!!

  2. Lauren says:

Meghan is dammed if she does and dammed if she doesn’t. So Angela can just eat sht and nothing else. Meghan and Harry are happily going by their lives and ignoring her existence. She has only the hates accounts and hateful tabloids to rely on.

    • Myra says:

So true. Angela is such a troll that I find it easy to ignore her existence. What gets to me though is when fair-minded people hold Meghan to a different standard than her white counterparts (celebrity included here). I am reminded of the optics conversation once again which promptly disappeared during the pandemic after Meghan had left.

      • Cessily says:

The vile lies and viscous conspiracies she tweets alone should leave her disgraced and unemployable. I can not believe she is in Jordon traveling with Camilla and Charles but on video chat dragging Meghan. If the Brit’s love their remaining royals so much report on them, we all would love it if they stopped lying and talking about Meghan so we could go back to not knowing who people like AL and CT are.

      • Mac says:

We all know that the tabs dug for every bit of dirt on Meghan before the wedding and came up empty. I find it hard to believe she suddenly became “rude” when she married Harry.

      • Tessa says:

And Charles apparently ignores Angela’s behavior. Charles is very cold parent IMO.

  3. L84Tea says:

Angela Levin can take a seat. She’s got her own BS to answer for after being outed on that list from Bot Sentinel.

    • GuestWho says:

Chris B is giving me life! Bless him for following through and staying on their necks. The reactions from the bullies is too flipping funny. They messed with the wrong man’s family.

      • Nick G says:

My favourite line from Chris was when he replied to one horrible troll, “Ma’am this is not a brothel” (because he had unmasked her as a madam), lolololololol forever.

    • Ginger says:

I would love for these tv shows in the UK to call her out for retweeting and interacting with these racists Meghan hate accounts, but they won’t. The fact that they still have her on is disgusting and very telling.

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

They would NEVER call her out as she is doing her masters’ bidding. Sadly they reckoned without Harry’s support for his wife and the strength of the small, mighty and increasingly influential Sussex Squad who stayed on their necks.

      • ElleV says:

imagine what a breath of fresh air a straight-talking, take no nonsense progressive person might be on the UK tv circuit? there’s a reason that vid of piers getting shut down by his cohosts was *fire* and i bet some small part of it is people wanting to see this nonsense shut down

    • Merricat says:

Lol, as if Meghan even hears the shrill screams coming from Salty Isle. She no longer has to take them into consideration, and so she doesn’t. Consequences.

    • GraceB says:

While I absolutely think Meghan’s choice of interviewer was a bad one, and I feel that way about anyone who had the choice to do her show, rather than being motivated by a need for the opportunity, Angela Levin cannot talk. She is just another bully.

    • Agreatreckoning says:

Angela Levin is a complete tw@twaffle. I would really like it if a real journalist called her out on her misleading people on the Harry book and “interview”. Both were sold on the idea she “accompanied him” and had “unique” access to Harry for, at first a year and then that changed to over a year, and that changed again to 15 months. Yet, there really isn’t evidence to support that. The book and “interview” are based on information already out there, tabloid stories and other people’s real interviews with Harry. And, her own projected opinions.

We have video/recorded/photo evidence of interviews Harry did with Bryony Gordon and Peter Hunt from April 2017. Rhiannon Mills from May 2015 in New Zealand. From what I could find she replicated (nicer word than plagiarized) info from these interviews along with 3 stories from Rebecca English-October 2016, Jan. & Feb 2017. A Sun story from March 2017. Info from a Forces TV interview and more. The only photo I could see with Angela and Harry was in the Newsweek story and they are not actually together. She looks like she’s scurrying to the bathroom behind him. So, maybe she attented 1 event.

AL has never stated the date she supposedly “interviewed” Harry or the timeline she “accompanied” him. I absolutely believe that he wouldn’t give the time of day to anyone that wrote for the Daily Mail or Sun (which Al had done) after his Nov. 2016 statement to the British Media and their terrible stories about Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

AL’s participation in the Sensemaker Live: Slimming down the monarchy story, kind of solidified what a liar she is. (to me at least) Love Giles use of air quotes when he asked her what ‘with’ meant. Al lies so much she forgets her own lies. She said Harry said walking behind Diana’s coffin was a “disgrace”, per the Newsweek article (which I’ve recently saved to word) she claimed Harry said no child should have to do that. Harry said in an actual interview with the BBC, he was glad to be a part of it looking back.

Angela also said in the Sensemaker Live interview that she had a get killer question for Harry (my opinion-Giles was challenging her-I think he knows the truth). This “killer” question does not come up in the Newsweek story. At all. You would think it would. She says she is the first person Harry talked about this with.hahahahah, in your dreams Angela. Along with Harry isn’t charismatic, energetic or intuitive any more. Her whole spiel is LOL. She makes it sound like he saw her across a crowded room and he connected with her. It’s possible he was looking at a clock above her head.

I remember that the publishers of James Frey’s A Million Little Pieces had to refund purchases of his book because he/they defrauded the public. I would not be sad if that happened to Angela Levin. It would be interesting to see text messages between Angela & Jason Knauf.

It is curious that (from what I could find) Lievine doesn’t have any articles about Harry before the Newsweek “interview”. My theory is that she wanted to get the stank of Max Clifford off her and what better victim than a popular Prince who served 2 tours. Then Meghan ruined her plans. Angela needs to keep Meghan, Duchess of Sussex out of her lying mouth.

  4. Fanciful says:

that bitch levin, was she asking why charles in charge was in jordan hobnobbing (and we can guess what else on that trip) while TQ was having a health crisis!!! and where Was Kkkkkate and Will! And for that matter what were the rest of TQ’s grandchildren’s spouses doing and how were they daring to breath because of the !health!crisis!!!

I just want someone to fully unload on her and put her in HER place. Sorry i am most likely not abiding any community standards but I’m pissed!

    • Becks1 says:

The Cambridges literally went on vacation the day after the Queen was released from the hospital but apparently that’s perfectly fine.

      • Fanciful says:

yes, exactly!! the hypocrisy is just stunning.

      • BayTampaBay says:

“As for the Queen’s poor health… weird that didn’t come up when…….”

Prince Charles left the country for an overseas tour of Jordan, Egypt and the Middle East and he is heir to the Throne! What gives if QEII is in that bad of shape?????

      • Lyds says:

You can vacation and go on tours while the Queen is sick, just as long as you’re not on camera smiling and laughing about how happy you are, duh. The Keenbridges and Chucky were clearly somber and actively mourning every minute the Queen is sick…not a smile was cracked, not one.

My goodness salty ppl are unhinged. There appears to be nothing disrespectful at all in this interview. Nothing salaciously “tell-all,” sadly, but how dare she???

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ Becks1, but you forgot to mention that Baldingham and FFQ Laziness were coming back into Britain from those shots taken from Heathrow!!!

What a bunch of f#$&ing hacks!!

    • Nick G says:

Twitter is now saying Levin is writing Camilla’s biography for her 75th birthday. That they agreed to her doing it is just unspeakable.

      • Lorelei says:

@Nick unspeakable is right. That is unreal.

They claim they want Harry back. Then they continue to collude with the worst of H&M’s torturers, behaving in ways that are ensuring Harry will NEVER come back, even if he and Meghan weren’t together anymore. What in the actual hell is wrong with these people? And to continue with this trash when they know he has a book, which could still be edited, coming out in a matter of months? Any sane person/family would be on their best behavior *at least* until the book was published, but these people are so arrogant and hateful that they cannot control themselves— they just can’t stop themselves from spewing vitriol. They’ll behave like this and then lose their tiny little minds when Harry inevitably criticizes them for acting like the openly racist lunatics that they’ve shown themselves to be.

I was one of the people who wasn’t thrilled about M going on Ellen, but the “opening of an envelope” comment enraged me. Levin has absolutely no idea what she’s talking about and needs to take a seat. Both Harry and Meghan have no doubt turned down *hundreds* of requests for tv interviews, event appearances, charity galas, podcast guest spots, etc. etc. I don’t like Ellen, but to dismiss it as a “chat show” and denigrate Meghan for going on it, when in fact she will reach a metric sh!t-ton of the exact demographic she needs to by being on the show, is only showing the world how clueless they are about how things work HERE. Its ratings have always been high, A-listers constantly go on Ellen, blah blah. They bitched about how Meghan just “didn’t understand how things were done in the UK!” since she was an American and hadn’t grown up there. Fine. But it goes both ways. Levin has no idea wtf she’s talking about here, and the media operates very differently in the US. No doubt Meghan and her team thought through her schedule very carefully before choosing exactly when and where she would appear. Levin seems to wake up every morning and immediately shuffle over to her computer to start ranting on YouTube, so she has balls of steel to criticize anyone else.

LEVIN is the one who would go to the opening of an envelope ffs. The audacity of this b!tch, ranting about how Meghan’s titles should be stripped, when hers is from a very short marriage which ended decades ago. Meghan is happily married to a blood prince, the grandson of the current monarch, and the son of the heir, so if anyone has a right to use their titles, it’s the Sussexes. Meanwhile this imbecile is using a title that hasn’t accurately described her for years and years, but she’s so desperate she continues to cling to it, unaware of how transparent and pathetic her entire little shtick is.

Also, Thoughts and Prayers to Levin finding literally ANYONE who wants to read an entire book about Camilla.

      • Tessa says:

I thought Camilla’s friend Penny Junor would write another biography of Camilla. She raised Camilla to sainthood in the last book.

      • Cessily says:

The biography is Angela’s reward for a her very public hate campaign against the Sussex’s on social media and in interviews, she is CH and Charles and Camilla’s Jason Knauf. They know exactly who she is and the hate and racism she is promoting (at this point with every thing with JK, I believe that they are probably feeding her the narratives to follow)

      • PrincessK says:

If this is true l am really shocked. Couldn’t they find any one else to do write a sugar coated book about Camilla? The royals are really desperate and in trouble.

  5. Over it says:

F unhinged Angela levin. She left your racist salty ass . Get over it and move on. Stop acting like Meghan stole your man, Harry was never nor will he ever be yours. He is Meghan man, the only one that gets to cuddle him. So yeah Angela you B——-ch with a capital B, get the F off Meghan back.

  6. Denise says:

So it’s ok for Keens to go for vacation constantly when Queen is sick. And to push insects in people’s faces and laugh about that?

    • GuestWho says:

Well, to be fair, Unable was apparently really drunk when she did that, so…there’s your soft Windsor diplomacy in action.

      • Over it says:

She was definitely something. But she appears that way whenever she has to do appearance with her incandescent husband. Maybe this is why he had her hand behind her back at their last appearance, to help hold her intoxicated ass up.

      • Fanciful says:

In fairness to Unable, if I were married to incandescent, who we saw on Sunday literally IS Baldimort as Valdimort is in his cheek for all to see, , needing to diet within an inch, shop, exercise and colour, I’d be drunk all the time too

      • WithTheAmerican says:

If only MM had publicly complained about a world leader farting, well that would have been great. Shame on her for dressing in classy clothes and smiling while making appropriate chit chat.

  7. Lady Digby says:

Meghan is entitled to live her life as she sees fit like Mike Tindall who married TQ’s granddaughter. Now it is Meghan and Harry leave TQ to spend Xmas on her own?! Why would they return to that vipers nest after William and Jason the Snake has only just stabbed them in the back? RF is carrying on as normal despite TQ,s ill heath . Angela is a parasite who lives off the RF and have given oodles of interviews trashing M and H. If M and H lived under a rock then Angela,s income would diminish because no more paid interviews for her!

    • Giddy says:

No, no, no, a million times NO! You say Meghan is entitled to live her life as she sees fit, but Angela says Absolutely Not! Angela has not given H & M permission to be happy! Angela is a vicious, bitter, old harpy who will never get over the fact that they escaped, and are happy and in love with each other and with the lives they have made. Tough!

  8. L4Frimaire says:

Angela Levin who interacts with trolls and uses their conspiracies and lies as news stories? Ha, that’s funny. They are seething that she looks happy and unbothered in those clips, that she’s giving anecdotes about her preRoyal life- a story she has shared before btw. I heard royal reporters covering Charles from Jordan are talking about this talk show appearance. I’ll tell you anyone upset she is appearing on Ellen is not mad because of Ellen but because she dares to be visible and vocal.

    • Kfg says:

No what Levin is really mad about is that Ellen has seen both Archie and Lilly and they the RR have no access. They were hoping to get pictures to live off of. That’s shut down. The queen won’t make it to the Jubilee so no pics. I doubt MM and the kids will be at her funerals as it’s not safe for her over there. So again, no pictures. They’re pissed bc they thought a black woman was supposed to bow and scrape and perform and sacrifice her children for the whites who are her betters and she said nope. Then she sued and won. Lolol it’s funny how all that JK info is now being swept under the rug bc it’s worse than we thought. Loving the racist tears

      • Lorelei says:

@KFG I do NOT envy Harry and Meghan when it comes to deciding wtf to do about the funeral. They’ll be trashed either way, but this is something that Harry genuinely does care about, and it will be tough for him no matter what they decide. My guess is that he will go, but probably alone. Meghan will be torn to shreds for being an “unsupportive” wife, but they tear her to shreds every day anyway, so it’s doubtful that will affect their decision. It’s awful because she probably will want to be there to support Harry, but you’re right in that she isn’t safe there anymore.

  9. Brit says:

They really can’t process or accept the fact that Meghan and Harry don’t care about them or their opinions. Now they’re going after Adele all of a sudden and unless it’s because she’s been trending all week, I’m sure it’s because she’s friends with them and did a sit down with Oprah. They declared war on Adele the minute she chose Harry over William in that Vogue 73 questions. They thought they had her with this appeal and the drama last week but she’s smiling, happy on a daytime show, unbothered. They’re traumatized because every time they think they “got” her, it doesn’t stick. They’re unhinged by their own hubris and ego.

  10. Monica says:

Bunnies better watch out when Angela is around and having one of her fits. She will not be ignored!

  11. Becks1 says:

Ha, I was just watching clips on Twitter of the British morning shows, and wow, there is some melting down going on. Angela, Camilla, etc – these women HATE Meghan. I love the one person who said that they were damned if they do, damned if they don’t, and the other who said something like “what do they want her to wear, sackcloth and ashes?”

It’s funny that some of these RRs have become so unhinged that even the shows that invite them on are pushing back.

Meghan knew they were going to melt down. She doesn’t care. the more Angela and Camilla et al rant about her – the more obsessed they look and the more obvious it is why H&M walked away.

    • Brit says:

They are really upset that Meghan hasn’t acknowledged them or invited them over for access. They are dying for her approval.

    • Miranda says:

Ooh, now imagining Meghan in a fabulous Carolina Herrera sackcloth ballgown! She could wear the hell out of that.

  12. Sofia says:

This is Meghan’s second interview so Levin can sit down with the “opening of an envelope” stuff. And I honestly don’t think the royals are going to be mentioned much tbh. It seems like it’ll be a cutesy interview with Meghan talking a bit about her non-royal past and what life is like now.

    • Becks1 says:

Yeah, I think they are dying for her to talk about royal life so they can “prove her wrong” (Tominey was talking about how everything in the Oprah interview was proven false…..since when?? Since the RRs said so?*) so they want her to talk about that, and when instead she shares cutesy stories about their lives in california or talks about Harry surfing or Archie learning to ride a scooter or whatever else they’re going to be livid and then turn all THAT stuff against her.

*I do find it kind of amazing in a bad way how the RRs can just DECLARE something to be so and then keep using that declaration and no one seems to push back on it. Like now its just “Meghan is a liar” and that’s all and they’re just running with it and it’s just fine to keep saying that in their little world.

      • L84Tea says:

I’m really hoping not one word about the RF is uttered. The RR’s will be mad either way, but not being acknowledged will hit them where it hurts.

      • Sofia says:

And they want her to talk about the RF because the RR want to be able to say: “See guys! All she does is talk about the royals!! We were right hur hur!!!”

But then again, even if Meghan doesn’t utter a word about the royals, the RR will still say that.

    • JT says:

And if Meg doesn’t mention her husband’s family, they will meltdown about that too.

    • BeanieBean says:

Really ironic since it looks like Levin will talk to anyone who asks her.

  13. Lili says:

So because a 95year old woman is having unspecified issues Meghan should put her life on hold, when her other grad children off on holiday and going about their business, where was the reciprocity when Meghan was pregnant and getting dragged by the tabloids. The Queen is 95 and has lived a full life, these guys should give it a rest.

  14. Miranda says:

Look, Angie. The thing about a 95-year-old woman, or a 99-year-old man, is that they’re kinda ALWAYS gonna be feeling not great. The world doesn’t stop because of that. If Bill and Buttons can shrug their shoulders at that and go on their 28th vacation of the year, or whore their pointless vanity projects, Meghan can give a goddamn interview. Sit down, bitch.

    • Over it says:

      This.thank you. So this.

    • Jay says:

Huh, you know what? Maybe the reason Kate and William haven’t done much in the way of work for a decade is because all of this time, they have been trying not to overshadow Will’s elderly grandparents, ever.

Can you imagine if one of them got caught actually… doing their job…at the same time Gran was old or ill? Who would take that chance? They don’t want her to miss out, that’s all, they’re just super respectful like that! 😉

    • Meghan says:

I mean my grandmother broke her hip not long ago and I still went on my vacation. Her surgery went well and she had been moved to rehab to start physical therapy- how was I going to be of help to her for that?!

And honestly if Meghan is doing a light-hearted, fun interview that signals to me that the Queen is probably not on death’s door. Meghan just seems like the kind of person who WOULD put her life on hold if something major was going on with a family member. Or even just to be there for Harry as he processes whatever is going on.

      • Miranda says:

I mean, this is a woman who endured months of bullying by her husband’s family and their toadies, and was nearly driven to suicide before she and Harry finally insisted on getting the hell out of there. If anything, Meghan was TOO deferential to the family in the past. It’s absurd to say that she thinks of herself first. And yeah, even if she detested the Queen (which certainly doesn’t seem like the case, anyway), she would still be respectful and concerned for Harry’s sake, if nothing else.

    • kelleybelle says:

      Love it.

  15. Mslove says:

It’s almost as if Meghan & Harry never left the royal family, as much as the BM writes about every single thing they do.

    • Sofia says:

Seriously. The future King and Queen are on tour – go talk about that. They can go and talk about when Kate is doing her next engagement. They’ve got other royals to talk about but they don’t have the interest that H&M do.

    • Lorelei says:

I wish someone would calculate the number of articles/column inches that have been dedicated to the Sussexes since they left the UK, and compare it to the coverage that EVERY other royal has gotten since Sussexit. Make it into a bar graph or something, so people can see just how ridiculous it is for these people to call themselves Royal Reporters when in fact the majority of their “reporting” has focused on the ones who are no longer working royals, and haven’t been for almost two years now.

  16. Jan says:

They forgot Meghan and Harry stepped down from working royals 1/2020.
Betty spoke up for BoJo’s girlfriend but not for her granddaughter-in-law getting abused everyday, so what does Meghan owe her.
She sat on her ass about about Lili’s name BS, she took back Harry’s honorary medals, so they don’t owe her anything.

    • LahdidahBaby says:

      All true.

    • Lyds says:

She is also the upholder of all traditions cruel and unnecessary, like Balmoral and Sandringham, as well as every hypocritical “never complain, never explain” protocol that exists. I am 100% convinced that TQ is telling H&M one thing and the courtiers another so her favorite grandson will still think highly of her. Case in point: the Lilibet name debacle — I just bet she made that snide comment to her aides that she was “informed” rather than consulted on it.

Evidently, there are still layers of formality with family members whereas staff/drinking buddies like Angela Kelly get the real goss, directly from the horse’s mouth.

      • Nivz says:

This resonates with me. We see the Queen as some kind of two dimensional figure. It’s so believable, however, that an old lady would talk out of both sides of her mouth. So many do. It’s hard to imagine that kind of momentum would have been reached (re the backlash for Lili’s name) without some kind of precipitating statement from la Reina Isabel. Exactly as the commenter above stated, just a bit of snark, like “I was informed” is sufficient to launch a poo-storm on the Sussexes.

    • Beach Dreams says:

This. The whole meltdown around Lili’s name was especially gross and I wouldn’t be surprised if that. I know we’ve been discussing the issue of how in control the queen is of messaging and operations for the past few months, but that moment was just really appalling that I find it hard to believe that she wasn’t aware of what the press was putting out there. I think Lyds may be on the mark with thinking the queen isn’t exactly helpless in all of this mess.

  17. Lizzie says:

This unhinged woman who doesn’t even make sense is so desperate for clicks she writes nonsense. We so rarely see Meghan that it is a big deal and always overshadows the rf. No way is she desperate for attention. Bth, Has Kate been benched while Chuck is on a tour? Hard to tell when she is the laziest royal in decades.

    • Christine says:

KP could announce that she had given birth to a 4th baby, and everyone would shrug and move along with their lives. She “works” so infrequently, absolutely no one looks up to see if she is around anymore (besides the embiggening reporters).

And yet, Meghan is the first name out of their mouths, even now.

  18. Chelsea says:

I’m not surprised the comments turned into a mess yesterday; people love to hold her to standards they dont to others so i said my peace and left. In the past week alone: Kathryn Hahn, Sarah Paulson, Salma Hayek, Keiran Culkin, Dax &Kristen have all appeared on the Ellen show and I guarantee you none of the people in that post complained about any of them doing so. It is what it is.

As for the British press being salty- it’s so funny that when she was over there they used to talk all the time about her parents’ multiple bankruptcies and how she was not from a wealthy background but now they’re bitter that instead of feeling ashamed by that that she’s back to telling the stories that she used to tell when she was on Suits about when she struggled financially. This story about the car isn’t new; she said it multiple times before back in interviews in 2015/16 before she met Harry. As much as they tried to look down on her and make her hate her past she refused and I respect her so much for that.

    • OriginalLala says:

eh, I think Ellen is a nasty bully who likes to punch down, but celebs have shown time and again that they will overlook a lot in someone who is still popular and has power, let’s not pretend they – as a whole – have much of an ethical backbone.

      • equality says:

Is it the celebs themselves or the companies that they are under contract with who decide what shows are attended for publicity?

      • OriginalLala says:

I’m not just talking talk shows though, celebs in general don’t seem all that concerned with ethics when it comes to people in position of power and popularity (See how many celebs still support and publicly adore Woody Allan, Chrissy Teigen etc etc..), and that’s not even scratching the surface of how many of them accept huge cash payouts from war lords, oligarchs and dictators to attend parties/perform.
All this to say, I’m not surprised any celeb is still going on Ellen, even though she has shown us who she is really is.

      • I 100000% agree with Kaiser that Meghan is just getting shit for this because she gets shit for anything she does and NO ONE is holding any other celebrity to this ” “How Dare You Go On a Bullies Show”. I also know having been adjacent and in the show business world for most of my life now, that you HAVE to do “deals with the devil” and smile with people you hate, and go on shows you hate, and as much as I HAVE side-eyed HARD anyone who has had anything to do with Ellen, hey, it’s work for them, you don’t get to only do what you like. It’s why show business life didn’t work for me. I’m too ornery and outspoken!

      • Christine says:

Word, laurelcanyoner. See also: Harvey Weinstein. There is a reason he was able to abuse for DECADES.

    • MA says:

Also Michelle Obama and Gloria Steinem have gone on Ellen. The reality is Ellen has a lot of friends in the industry and no celebrity has really come out against her or ostracized her.

People can think Ellen is trash and that all celebrities who go on her show made morally questionable decisions but it’s REALLY telling that these same people largely come out of the woodwork for Meghan.
Same as the ones who don’t save the “titles are dumb, aristocracy should be abolished, her clothes are too expensive, the tailoring is ‘off’” energy for anyone else not named Meghan.

  19. Smacd says:

I grew up in a former British colony and these people really do think that the sun shines out of the RF’s butts. To have a black American woman find fault with and reject their precious institution is really too much for them to process. They spend their entire lives chasing a letter, visit or smile from that family and she says no thanks? They’ll never forgive her for it.

  20. NJ says:

I do think its bad for her brand to be appearing on Ellen, could have done literally any other show. ( and i think the same about anyone appearing)

    • Amy Bee says:

I look forward to you condemning whoever’s on Ellen’s show tomorrow.

    • MsIam says:

There has been negative information about a lot of the talk show hosts. Fallon, Kimmel, Chris Cuomo. So Meghan should never talk to anyone problematic? Well then that explains why she should never talk with anyone in the British tabloids then.

    • Sid says:

Mrs. Obama, along with many others, was on Ellen’s show after Ellen’s treatment of employes was exposed. Her “brand” seems to be doing okay.

    • L4frimaire says:

Well then just ignore her “ brand” and find some other celebrity to worry about. Don’t watch it, don’t read about it, don’t comment on it. All these people talking this and that about Ellen seem to actually have no real knowledge of what happened after the initial headlines. Maybe they should look into that and then comment.

    • Harper says:

Mean Ellen is part of the mainstream media and I’m glad Meghan is using it. There are way too many negative headlines and stories about Meghan filtering into the USA via the Mean Penny Junors and Mean Page Sixes of the world. Add to that the Mean People magazine editor who pushes Mean Burger King on its cover in our grocery stores, including exclusive, behind the scenes, posed for the camera lovie-dovie (but fake as anything) photos of the Mean Cambridges. The same loving sibling and sis-in-law who tormented Harry to the point of leaving the country to preserve his family’s lives and sanity, but who are so insanely jealous that their press operatives are working to squash H&M here in America too.

The best way for Meghan to counteract these forces is to go on chat shows being herself. Everyone does it in this country including our ex-Presidents, and there is no stigma to it (despite Angela Levin’s bile). This way, Meghan can give the public a glimpse of her real self–an important counterpoint to all the slop about her being create by the tabloids and Burger King and his Side of Fries.

      • Feeshalori says:

@Harper, I said something similar on yesterday’s thread and l absolutely agree with you. Meghan is using the tools she needs to push back against this pervasive vileness against her here in America. I’m sick of seeing the Cambridges’ faces on a US magazine and Meghan needs to represent herself as well. If she chooses to do so with Ellen, that’s her call not ours. I’m not a fan of Ellen, but I will be sure to tape the show.

  21. Aurora says:

I don’t understand why no one was outraged at all the other A-list celebs who have appeared on Ellen this year but are suddenly tasking Meghan with taking a higher moral ground than pretty much everyone else.

    • Over it says:

Don’t ask me, I think she is old enough to make her own decisions especially after the shit she has been through. Also Ellen supported her when so many other famous people stayed silent about the abuse and racism Meghan faced and still continues to face . So I have absolutely no problem with her going on Ellen.

    • swirlmamad says:

Because they ALWAYS do this. Apparently, Meghan has to apply for sainthood and always toe the line because “her brand”, “her charitable initiatives”, “her innate desire to do good”. She’s not allowed to do anything that is not in line with some people’s need for her to fulfill this persona of perfection. It is normal and HUMAN to have a genuinely good heart and good intentions but sometimes still do and say things that aren’t considered ideal.

    • Case says:

I was bothered by the other A-list stars visiting Ellen. I have been ever since the allegations come out about her. I think her show should’ve been shut down unceremoniously after the terrible things that came out about her.

    • Green Desert says:

Thank you, @Aurora. Also, for example, Ellen was at Adele’s concert that aired last weekend. Ellen sucks, but let’s not pretend she treats her celebrity friends like she treats regulars. I would also like to add that two things can be true…Ellen can be a good friend to some and an asshole to others. We’ve all known people like this.

I’m a biracial (black/white) woman, which I have said before on here, but I feel like I have to say it occasionally because I want people to hear me: people of color are ALWAYS held to higher standards than white people. The truth about Ellen came out long ago, and most of you have not shared these opinions re: Ellen’s other celeb friends like you did with Meghan yesterday (and there are posts about Ellen’s other friends/guests all the time). Where were these concerns on the recent Adele (who I also love) posts? I mean this in as gentle a way as possible – you can be a progressive, non-racist person and still need to check your biases. If you felt upset with Meghan when this came out, but you haven’t felt that level with Ellen’s other celeb friends, please check your biases.

If anyone noticed my edits, I wanted to change some things after calming down a little lol. :)

    • Beach Dreams says:

THANK YOU. It’s so irritating to see people get into a fit about things with Meghan that they would either ignore, brush off, or downplay with others. If people are going to act so distraught about Meghan doing an interview, they’d better feel equally upset at all of the other big names who have flocked to Ellen’s show post-allegations. I saw absolutely none of that energy from the people throwing a fit yesterday.

    • Emma says:

And why is Meghan personally responsible for Ellen, like she’s Ellen’s maid? No no no. I really think because Ellen is white and Meghan is an incredibly famous, incredibly vilified woman of Black descent, people subconsciously expect Meghan to clean up after Ellen and be a scapegoat for Ellen. Again… No, no, no.

    • Lorelei says:

      @Case ITA.

@Aurora I don’t understand why everyone keeps saying this, because the obvious reason is that the people commenting follow Meghan, not Ellen, and not all of the other celebrities who appear on her show. The only celebrities I really pay attention to are the royals, so I have absolutely no idea who was on Ellen yesterday or who will be tomorrow. I only read the royal posts here, for the most part. Now that I’ve heard all of these other people have gone on the show recently as well, I’m also disappointed in them.

You can absolutely disagree with my opinion, but it makes no sense to ask why I wasn’t disappointed in everyone else. It’s because I have no idea what everyone else is doing on a daily basis. As soon as it came up, I did have the same exact reaction to them going on the show this season.

And I didn’t have a “fit” or a “meltdown,” I simply said I was disappointed that Ellen was the show Meghan chose. Everyone is really exaggerating some of the comments from yesterday.

@Green Desert, you would be correct IF everyone who expressed disappointment yesterday ALSO followed every single celebrity and what they’re up to every day but stayed silent about all of their appearances on Ellen and only made an issue out of it the day that Meghan went on. Many of us only read the royal posts here, so it’s inane to ask why we didn’t have the same reaction to every other guest.

      • Kitty says:

Thanks for saving me the trouble, THIS. Weird counter argument. I was disappointed in Ellen, I stopped watching her. When someone goes on her show and is covered here – I’m disappointed in them too. If Meghan is the only one covered – then Meghan is the only one I know of. Doesn’t mean I give everyone else a pass. Means I’m trying not to give Ellen clicks.
I’d also like to point out that some (most) celebrities have to shill for a living. Their books, movies, etc. depend on it and their contracts may stipulate appearances and their agents may line them up. A-list celebs may have veto power – I don’t know – but the rest of the probably do not? Meghan can benefit from publicity, but she doesn’t rely on it for a living. She’s A-list. She had a choice, most likely.

  22. zinjazin says:

I find it relaxing that Meghan dresses somewhat modest.
Im so tired of seeing supertight and short clothing everywhere on celebs always trying to be “sexy” its a bit exhausting imo.
she dresses with dignity and class.

    • Hyrule Castle says:

Nah, that’s just your internalized misogyny rearing it’s ugly, outdated head.
Shut that down, for your own sake, and stop policing what other people wear & how they choose to present themselves.

It literally has nothing to do with you.

ETA: also, dignity & class (whatever that is) have nothing to do with clothes. Point in fact: Kate.

    • Nicole says:

I think she’s dressing for her post partum body. You can tell that she still is hormonal and slightly fuller than her usual build. I think it’s more about dressing for her body in its current state.

    • One of the marys says:

@zinjazin I agree with you. The bodycon exhibitionist style is not appropriate everywhere and this outfit is fantastic for an afternoon talk show. Is judging the same as policing? I didn’t know it was internalized misogyny to prefer one style over another

      • zinjazin says:

It’s just a preference as you say. Nothing to do with misogyni.
Im not judging. There are also different cultures. Imo Meghans style is well suited for an international audience. No harm in that.

I think it could be quite liberating to not always have to please an audience by being sexy. Sometimes you just want to be neutral.

      • Otaku fairy says:

There’s nothing wrong with preferring a certain style. It gets misogynistic when people start ranking women based on things like that- telling them this is what you have to do to have dignity, class, etc. Even when you’re actually meeting a standard, seeing it used against other women can suck the liberation and the comfort out of it.

    • Jaded says:

Then you must have thought her red gown at the Military ball the other night was far too revealing and *enticing*. Why is it not OK to wear clothing that enhances a lovely figure? Meghan has worn lots of form-fitting and sexy clothing but she chooses wisely for the occasion and time of life. She’s on a daytime talk show and wore something appropriate. She’s still got some baby weight so she dresses to cover it, not because she thinks more revealing clothing is bad.

      • zinjazin says:

I dont necessarily think revealing clothes are always bad. But there are different perspectives. I think that red dress was approriate for the occassion, it was an evening gown, and not very revealing despite a bold cut. She looked natural in it.

      • zinjazin says:

I think it’s an intresting conversation about perception.

  23. AVEA says:

LOL they hate to see her happy huh? I hope they keep doing appearances and talking about happy they are away from that Island and its deranged inhabitants

  24. Amy Bee says:

Charles is on an overseas tour right now. Seems Angela Levin has no problem with that. I think it’s hilarious that every time Meghan does an interview the British press are afraid about what she might say. But just like the NPR interview, they’re going to be wasting their time waiting for some “bombshell” to be dropped.

I get the sense that Meghan has moved on now, she said what she had to say on Oprah and she’s focusing on her family, career and her foundation. I wish the British press would do the same but they’re too obsessed with her to let go.

  25. MerryGirl says:

Awww, Angela Devil is jealous she nor none of her British Brexit gossipers didn’t get to interview Meghan. Funny how she didn’t scream when the Keens went on vacay while the Queen was in hospital and isn’t it something that she ain’t mad that Tampon Charlie & Fart squealer haven’t cancelled their tour of Jordan while the Queen is ill. The other rotten Royals can get on with their lives but not Meg?

  26. Maria says:

Of course they’re foaming at the mouth, lol. Rinse and repeat. It’s so predictable at this point.

As for Meghan being on Ellen – I’m not a huge fan of Ellen either, but I’m also not a fan of Jessica Mulroney or Gwyneth Paltrow, two people Meghan likes/admires. Meghan isn’t me and her life isn’t mine so she can make her own decisions. My view is the whole point of supporting the Sussexes is so they can make their decisions, not having decisions made for them. Meghan strikes me as the kind of person who gets along with everyone, or at least tries to ensure people get along through understanding and compassion (we could use more people like that; I could do better myself).
Also, it’s a fact that Ellen still has a huge audience and fanbase whether we like it or not, this combined with how Ellen and Meghan do have a history, I’m not surprised she chose this. A lot of people I like have been on Ellen’s show. C’est la vie. Still love Meghan.

    • swirlmamad says:

“A lot of people I like have been on Ellen’s show. C’est la vie. Still love Meghan.”

This line is exactly where I’m at, as well.

      • Becks1 says:

        This is me as well.

Also – let’s not act like there wouldn’t have been a meltdown regardless of who she sat down with, or what she said. If she went on Fallon they would have brought up Fallon and trump’s hair, or all the stories about him at SNL. If she had gone on Kimmel they would have found something about him to bitch about – even if just saying “he’s just one of many late night shows over there, that’s the best she could do?” If she had gone on Kelly Clarkson like some suggested yesterday (lol), it would have been “Kelly Clarkson? Really? She wasn’t good enough for Ellen?”

(i dont know anything about Kimmel so I’m not sure if there is actual dirt on, I’m just throwing out examples.)

I dislike Ellen but also completely understand why Meghan is going on her show.

    • Green Desert says:

@Maria, YES to this and especially your last few lines.

    • Beach Dreams says:

      This is my stance too.

    • vs says:

      Excellent post!
I heard all the news about Ellen but I am one of those who don’t forget those who were there at the “lows”.

Ellen, HRC, Serena, Jessica, Jasmina, Daniel, Clooney, etc are some who stood up for Meghan at the worst. It became so bad that Meghan breathing was a problem…..I don’t think there is one thing Meghan can do that will make me not watch/buy/support her. Same thing for Michelle Obama, Serena W, Venus W and now VP Kamala Harris, Naomi Osaka, Simone Biles and plenty of other women who dare not to be doormat and shut up!

I am pretty certain Meghan will be on a lot of talk shows; she has to promote her work; yes she is incredibly famous but she also needs to be seen from time to time
I watched Ellen today and loved it!

  27. Lemons says:

The Rota should be thrilled about this interview as it gives them something else to talk about outside of what the Queen’s health situation is. And since the Queen has started back up with her duties, it looks like she wants business to continue as usual.

    • Jais says:

Oh, they are thrilled. Literally, they are overjoyed because it means they can hate-rage against her which gets them off. Sorry, if that’s gross, but at this point it’s masturbation for Angela.

  28. Lilpeppa40 says:

“Meghan will interview anywhere people want her.” Reader, I nearly died of laughter. I think it’s plain to see that because that’s not true (she’d never interview with you for example Angela) and that is actually why they’re so angry. I used to get upset but it’s so over the top now it’s literally like cartoon villains twirling their moustaches. It also isn’t as upsetting because H&M removed themselves although I’m sure they’re still dealing with the scars. All that being said, some of the vitriol I was seeing yesterday in the comments was astonishing. It’s Meghan’s choice to make re who she sits down with and as some persons pointed out yest, Ellen supported her during a tough time. Also Meghan is human, neither she nor Harry ever asked to be put on a pedestal even though they do lovely, compassionate things for others. Also, Meghan is literally just living her life. She knows she’ll be talked about and ppl will criticize.

    • A says:

That line is just truly something else. Like yeah, of course she will interview wherever people want her. How in the world can she interview somewhere that doesn’t want her? How would that even WORK?!?

  29. Jay says:

Remember how the British press unleashed a whole bunch of stories about the “bombshells” Meghan and Harry will drop with Oprah, even going so far as to smear her as a bully pre-emptively, only to drive viewership and have it backfire on them spectacularly? Yeah, I think they have not learned from that at all.

But I’ll bet Ellen’s show will appreciate the extra views!

  30. BitsyCS says:

As a Catholic school kid (k-12!) pointing to it as evidence of wealth is hilarious – tell me you’ve never stepped foot in a Catholic school without telling me you’ve never stepped foot in one. But also, she was referencing when she was a working actress, ostensibly an adult who was not supported by her parents financially vs tuition as a child. Maybe it’s hard for Brits to understand a person who is an adult and isn’t living off the family name, wealth, whatever.

    These people are fully unhinged.

    • Becks1 says:

      Yay, you’re here!!

And yeah, we went to Catholic school solely because they were so much cheaper than the non religious private schools. I know obviously some Catholic schools are super expensive, but by and large if I hear someone attends Catholic school, i don’t leap to ‘wow they must be super rich.”

      • Andrea says:

The only people who thought I was rich when I said I went to Catholic school were my southern NC friends who went to public school and didn’t know anyone who attended any private school.

  31. Monica says:

I recently started an Instagram account to share my artwork. I have not gotten any negative feedback, but a couple of comments threw me for a loop because they held expectation. That little bit of discomfort was enough for me to decide that if I ever get up to the level of “fame” that might have people taking potshots at me, I will hire a communications team and never look at social media again. I hope M&H have done the same.

    • vs says:

They don’t have SM…..it seems H is against it especially SM in its current form

  32. swirlmamad says:

Keep on blowing that gasket, Angela LIEvin. Meghan is happy and peaceful under her tree, not in the least bit bothered by the likes of YOU.

The only other show is Cordon and Harry already did that one.

  38. Basi says:

I love Meghan and Harry. Full support.
My first reaction to hearing Meghan going on Ellen “eek. That’s not a good look” but after reading your thoughts (hold other friend/guests accountable. They are genuine friends. Meghan damned either way) I have come around. Makes sense. (Selfishly I love it! I can watch Meghan and Harry all day)
I love this community! To those who called out Queen Rania’s faults yesterday…thank you for enlightening me.

  39. ML says:

I’m afraid I’m one of the people who likes Meghan, but believes she’s made a mistake with Ellen. I live in Holland where there’s a popular makeup artist, Nikkie de Jager. Nikkie was on one of Ellen’s shows, and Ellen was not nice to her. For someone whose public reputation was built on being kind, Ellen was shown to not practice what she preached, and the Dutch media reported on this extensively. Afterwards, many, many people mentioned having similar experiences including Ellen having mistreated some of her staff.
Like Ellen, Meghan’s reputation is based on kindness; I truly believe that she is kind. Her entire life, Meghan has shown up to help: Animals, the homeless, the unemployed, immigrants, POC, children,… and like many of the people who worked on or appeared on Ellen’s show, Meghan has also been seriously mistreated.
Perhaps when it’s your friend, it’s difficult to see and understand? Ellen can be a good friend, but a horrible person and seeing her supported publicly by someone who was a victim of extensive bullying is jarring to me.

    • ModeratelyWealthy says:

Nikkie is a Queen. We have known about Ellen being mean for the longest of times, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Perry- they are all Ellen´s friends and all go to her show and people do not say a word, so I find odd that Meghan is the one people feel should be held accountable here.

My personal theory is that celebrities brush this allegations off as ” We all have our bad days.” They do not see as a pattern in behavior. Ellen is nice to then, they never saw Ellen being mean, we all have bad days, etc.

Ellen was among many who defended Meghan online, so it does not surprise me Meghan wanted to go.

“Rude”, “ruthless”, “desperate for attention”. Was Levin looking in a mirror? Even IF any of this were true of M, what would make Levin any better? 41. Julia K says:

Living well is still the best revenge

  42. Thirtynine says:

I didn’t read people ripping Meghan to shreds yesterday. Most of those who spoke negatively basically said they were disappointed in the decision. Mostly due to Ellen’s reputation which already people had strong feelings about. People also said they feel the same about any of Ellen’s high profile guests, but this article happened to be about M, so no double standards set up just for her. The comments were heated, but it wasn’t because people were ripping at Meghan.

I actually don’t see the problem really. Isn’t it more problematical for Meghan if fans try to force infallibility or perfection on every single one of her choices that all must approve, rather than just let her be loved, human quirks and flaws and all? Isn’t that more impossible to live up to? Than people who don’t always agree with you, but who care anyway?

    • Sofia says:

Literally no-one was forcing perfection onto Meghan. Literally no-one. People just said they didn’t like the fact that she was going onto Ellen due to her issues but a great many said that it’s not a big deal since other celebs have done it and/or they still like Meghan despite it. That’s not forcing perfection to me. If they were they would have been saying they hate her now or think she’s a hypocrite but they weren’t.

Meghan hasn’t done anything wrong and this isn’t a bad choice that *only she’s* made (as you and others have said, many other celebs have gone on Ellen so Meghan isn’t the only one) but people criticising Meghan and any other celeb for going on Ellen isn’t forcing perfection in anyway nor is it demanding anything from her/them.

This is a gossip site. We are giving our opinions.

      • Sofia says:

(Generally speaking, my comment is more general and not really directed to you but more in agreement with you! I’m just speaking to the posters who you’re talking about. I am not in disagreement with you!)

Needed to add this because I see I’ve slightly misread your comment so it may seem a bit off or that I’m disagreeing but I am not!

I need to make that clear!

      • Thirtynine says:

        Thanks, Sofia.

      • MA says:

But you can’t deny that Meghan is the only one held to that standard and getting the heat. I get the criticism is couched as fair “I like Meghan, don’t like this move, also don’t like that other celebrities do this” but that last part about acknowledging other celebrities is an afterthought. Because those other celebrities aren’t getting hundreds of comments saying the same thing and being associated with problematic behavior or people, they are only mentioned in the same breath as Meghan. So in that way it does become a pile on and turn into a sole criticism of Meghan since one is scrutinizing Michelle Obama’s or Gloria Steinem’s associations with Ellen.

It’s the way that Meghan will get hundreds of ‘fair’ critiques of perceived tailoring issues with clothes. In a vacuum sure this is fair, but when there is virtual silence in other celebrity tailoring it becomes unfair.

    • SoClose says:

Folks just get heated at any perceived hint of of disapproval when it comes to Meghan or Harry — you can’t have an opinion that isn’t favorable without being swarmed.

Ellen is certainly questionable, having said that M&H are building a foundation across many, many different service lines – they are going to work with questionable people, probably some straight up assholes ::looking at you Katie Couric::

We should judge them on their own actions — Meghan isn’t responsible for Ellen or Jessica or anyone else. My two cents.

    • Case says:

Thank you. Literally no one was ripping Meghan to shreds yesterday, just trying to have a very (in my opinion, mild and nuanced) conversation about the ethics of celebrities in general, not just Meghan, giving Ellen attention. The take that people were unfairly being critical of Meghan and not other celebrities (as though we have daily discussions of Ellen’s guests, lol) is just so bizarre to me. The comments I saw expressing disappointment in this choice were literally all “Love Meg, but I wish she didn’t choose Ellen.” That’s all. I’m not sure why it’s such a foreign concept that you can be a fan of someone and sometimes disagree with their choices.

  43. Thirtynine says:

She’s not a devil or an angel and we do her a dis-service if we treat or talk about her as either.

I dislike Ellen but I also think going on her show cheapens their brand. Not sure why Meghan chose to be interviewed their.

  45. Janice Hill says:

This Daily Main post is laughable. Same bag of tricks: Repeat, rinse, repeat. Yesterday, when I saw the video clip, all I could think about was how articulate Meghan is when she talks. She’s careful with her accent, but not afraid to own it. She can enunciate even when she talks fast. She’s intelligent, funny. And she can finish her sentences without trailing off into mumbling nothingness. And what’s interesting is that Harry has always been portrayed as unintelligent, and now Meghan has masterminded him. Is it me or has Harry come across as quite intelligent since meeting Meghan? Is it that he was always that way but couldn’t comment on anything? Or is it somewhere in the middle?

    • Jaded says:

I think Meghan “released” a lot of what Harry kept repressed, including his own mental health battles. I think Harry was always the smarter brother but got relegated to “second best” status again and again. His own family suppressed his ambition, drive and focus on carving out a philanthropic career and Meghan freed him from his constraints. She had faith in him when his brother and father didn’t.

    • Marivic says:

I believe Harry is more articulate and insightful in his speeches than Willis. He talks more with substance than his brother.

  46. Watson says:

Going on Ellen was strategic and smart. Ellen caters to the suburban moms and People mag readers that have been fed drivel about Kate and William. This was a light hearted interview set to humanize Meghan in a fun way that she’s never been able to do.

Is Ellen a good boss or person? No. But Meghan has proven time and again: she is a loyal friend even if it’s not pc to be your friend. If I was her friend I would appreciate that.

  47. SwirlmamaD says:

Just going to put this out there — saw on IG that Glennon Doyle is also a guest on Ellen, and she’s also someone who has a very clear “brand” of self love, care, and kindness.

  48. Margaret says:

I believe we as fair minded adults understand that. But the personal judgemental comments about her, when the take downs are all over the BM, and especially the Murdock rags. Well if I want hateful, and condescending comments I know where to look. Can the Sussexes get positive commentary without the disdain which is on so many threads. It’s just the false narratives ring fake. That is just my opinion, doesn’t deny you your opinion.

    • Thirtynine says:

Margaret, I get that. Celebitchy is a bit of a haven for us Meg lovers because we usually remain pretty free of the vileness that is directed to her. That is the very reason so many of us are attracted to this site.

  49. Pat Gaddess says:

I think Harry was always intelligent and a good speaker He spoke many times at events for Invictus and numerous other charities The tabloids and RF have always put H down to make Will and Kate look good It is not working any longer because he and Meghan are getting out and the palace is not managing who hears his speeches. Previously his speeches were seldom given press and media attention

  50. ElleE says:

Meanwhile Amazon just announced that it will not accept UK Visa payments (debits will still be ok) after Jan. 2022. Yikes. When money- grubbing Amazon doesn’t want to do business with your little country, how does that make you feel? Meghan’s Visa card =still accepted!

(The EU caps card fees and the UK will now ratchet up the fees as it is free to do so. Amazon is like, lol, no we like making € and you guys are broke ass anyway, so your Visas will be declined. Sorry this is racist but man they must be butthurt that all African countries Visas will still be accepted by Amazon)

  51. aquarius64 says:

The BM is upset the US media is not dragging Meghan daily like it does. It highlights that the BM is a joke.

  52. Emmitt says:

If people say Meghan’s brand is being kind and she’s ruining her brand by appearing on mean Ellen’s show, wouldn’t it be mean to shun Ellen?

    • equality says:

Then they would just say that she “markled” ellen like she does everybody. It’s another no-win whichever way she goes like the majority of things.

  53. incognito08 says:

What I find incredibly interesting are the folks who appear to wait on pins and needles to find fault with someone that they don’t particularly care for. Case in point, Meghan’s appearance on Ellen was benign; however, the thirsty Royal Rota and other detractors clutched their invisible pearls and cried foul about her appearing on Ellen. It’s like, “See, now do you understand why we don’t like Meghan?” when we already know that they are bitter because she took control of her life and willingly left that toxic cesspool behind. As others have noted, it boggles their mind that black woman seemingly threw it all away after she reached the pinnacle of English society. They are angry because they would have been grateful to pay the cost of their mental health at the hands of their media – all for riches and adoration.

  54. lanne says:

Meghan remains beautiful, relaxed, happy with her husband and children, and successful. That’s the real problem that those Mad Folks on Salty Isle won’t admit to.

  55. Mina_Esq says:

Meghan is glowing and happy, and that’s the biggest slap in the face to all the haters. And getting interviewed by Oprah and Ellen isn’t exactly an opening of an envelope. Kate and Bill would jump to the opportunity to gain access to that kind of an audience.

  56. Ewissa says:

Meghan is bad because appearing on show when queen is sick yet Cambridges jetting off abroad for hols get no heat.
I cant make this s*** up!

  57. Slippers4life says:

Honestly, the unhinged are gonna unhinge. The fact we can predict, that no matter what Meghan does. If she opened a charity called “millions of dollars for Piers Morgan, Dan Wooton, Angela Levin, and Camilla Tominey” and they could all get millions of dollars a day, and free massages and pampering for the rest of their lives, they would STILL post unhinged articles and participate in unhinged interviews. That’s what they do. Anytime Meghan does ANYTHING, one of the first things I think is, “what fresh Hell is the BM going to come up with today?” And search and hope that maybe, just maybe, this time, the BM will be rational and fair. Maybe they won’t victim blame her for their harassment by saying crap like “I thought she wanted privacy” “she’s using her royal title”, “she should be stripped” blah blah blah, but they never do! They are never reasonable. They are never fair. No matter what and we know this! We can predict it. So now, we need to accept it for what it is and really support Meghan in the changes that need to happen. Everything Angela Levin, Dan Wooton, Piers Morgan or Camilla Tominey unhinges about Meghan….file a complaint! Every time there is anything positive, click and comment as much as possible. Report report report to Twitter and YouTube, the harassment. Report every intentional cruel comment and reduce the ability for the Murdoch press to line its pockets from this harassment. Enough!

  58. Eurydice says:

I watched the interview – Meghan was pretty much the whole hour. Very cute, light, easy and inoffensive. The unhinged will complain that it was all “stage-managed,” but I think that’s true of every talk show.

    • Watson says:

Meghan’s super careful with everything she does so I can’t imagine her going into a situation where she didn’t think of things 10 steps ahead…and that’s on being a strategist! This was her fun, light and airy interview. Very girl next door relatable and also aspirational.

  59. Margo says:

    Pretty Blouse.

  60. CQ says:

I enjoyed Meghan’s Ellen interview. The show was lighthearted but still interesting. Meghan gave us a small view of her life without all the storm and drang of the BM. I’ve long ago stop reading or tuning in to such racist, vile, and silly comments. I ignore idiots for a healthier mental state. If more people followed suit the RR would need a new gig.

  61. RoyalBlue says:

This was the phrase that got me: “The expert, and author of Harry: A Biography of a Prince, told the Sun”

They HAD to throw in the name of her book as a desperate attempt to get sales huh. And how the heck is she an expert? of WHAT?

  62. blunt talker says:

Meghan was just beautiful and I really loved her blouse-wish I could wear it-anyway just Archie at his chick inn-He is really growing up and is going to be a handsome fella-I hope they be on the cover of a magazine for December 2021-Harry, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibeth-This would make my dream come true and I would try to buy all magazines with this family on it-Peace and happiness to the Sussex family-God bless you and keep you safe.

  63. alane says:

I see the British media and their readers went ballistic on Meghan with their usual glee. I’ve never seen such hate, even in the politics arena. Still can’t figure out why but thankfully I don’t live amongst the mob. They have to be the most miserable people on earth.

  64. Steph says:

Eewww. I don’t like the first sentence of the excerpt. It ties all of her success to Harry and the rf. She was successful before them. And would continue to be had never entered that toxic orbit.

  65. Likeyoucare says:

I hope when Harry and Meghan were bored, meghan will ask harry.
    “Haz tell me some jokes.”
Harry will whip out his phone and say
” do you want me to read jokes from the daily mail or the telegraph?”
    Edit :
And they laugh and laugh in their 68 toilets mansion house.

    • lanne says:

Even better. They play hide and seek with Archie in just 1 of their lovely rooms, he’s doing a terrible job of hiding as 2 year olds do, and give zero thoughts to royal ratchets.

  66. Ed says:

    This is very good
