Megan Thee Stallion: I’m still going to open up assisted living facilities & hire new grads

Megan Thee Stallion is now Megan Thee Graduate and will soon be Megan Thee Mogul. Megan received her bachelor’s degree in health administration over the weekend from Texas Southern University. Megan said earlier in the year that she wanted to open up nursing facilities when she graduated. In a recently interview with Rolling Stone, Megan again committed to open up a fleet of nursing homes where she will hire new graduates. Megan said that she wants to hire new graduates because they are often not considered for jobs due to lack of experience. A few highlights via People:

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the singer expressed her excitement after graduating and shared that she plans to make a difference in the health community with her new degree.

“I’m still going to open up these assisted living facilities and I definitely want to hire new college graduates,” she said. “Nobody ever wants to hire you fresh out of college. They feel like you have no experience, so I want to create a place where you can get experience.”

“I really wanted to be an administrator over a hospital, but I knew I still wanted to be Megan Thee Stallion. I was like, ‘What can I do?'” Megan said at the time. “I was like, ‘You know what, I’m gonna open an assisted-living facility and use the money that I make from rapping to open it. Then I’m gonna let my classmates run it.”

She told the outlet, “I thought I wanted to be a nurse and then I found myself at school and I was like, okay, definitely don’t want to be a nurse.”

“I didn’t tell my parents I switched my major and then I started really rapping. I left Prairie View and I came home,” she said. I got a job, but I was still going to community colleges. Finally, I was like you know what? I need to go back on campus. So then that’s when I wound up at Texas Southern University.”

Megan has said that she wanted to finish college so that she makes her mama proud but I also think Megan has a business mind. I love how Megan is committed to her dreams and goals. She is correct, new grads have the hardest time securing work because they don’t have any experience which is a catch 22. How do you get experience in a field if no one will hire you because you lack experience? It is also a beautiful sentiment to give aging people the experience of being surrounded by family. I can definitely see Megan being a nursing facility mogul outside of all of the other things she does. It is a smart move on Megan’s part to have several streams of income outside of performing. Whether Megan’s fans know it or not, she is showing them how to build wealth without saying that is what she is doing. I love to see one of Houston’s hometown sheroes leverage her fame and wealth to do good in the world. I hope to be at an opening ceremony since I am sure that one will open in Houston. I honestly cannot wait to see what Megan does next because I just know it is going to be unexpected. Megan is definitely manifesting the life she has always dreamed of.

She is such a star. I wish her the best for overcoming so much tragedy in her personal life (family deaths and Tory Lanez) & persevering in her educational goals. She has overcome so much and is so talented. I really admire her!

Also: Let’s boycott Tory Lanez forever, shall we?

This is really cool! I didn’t know she went to Prairie View A&M. I think there’s such a need for good quality elder care. I am here for this.

It’s always nice to see celebs prioritize education so I applaud her, and nursing homes are so needed right now- good for her.

A nursing home is not an assisted living facility. Nursing homes are authorized to use restraints. The abuse is prevalent and goes largely unchecked in my experience.

She wants to do an assisted living facility. Greater profit with more freedoms, but not as much quality of life or care. Even if the staff care, it’s not sustainable as a business model unless you prioritize profits over care.

I came from that world. It’s shameful. And the expensive places are very nice, but most cannot even afford a month there

Mad respect and love for all the aforementioned reasons. Also, my-daughter-the-doctor got through medical school by rewriting the lyrics to rap songs in order to reinforce what she was learning. Her redo of WAP is priceless (C. Diff), and it tickles me no end that Megan would understand (and maybe even) appreciate it!

  5. Just A Thought says:

I glad that she got her Bachelor’s in Health Administration. I glad how kept that promise to her parents. More importantly she is going into a field that will continue to grow to the Boomers becoming senior citizens. Megan is correct recently graduated can not jobs in their field.

Finally a celeb who does something good with their money. It doesn’t need to be some fancy lifestyle brand that sells useless overpriced stuff to people. There are businesses that are actually needed and help people.

  7. Wiglet Watcher says:

    No way this goes well.
Her good intentions cannot overcome a broken system. Having worked in the assisted living system on many levels I cannot imagine a world where the company is not exploited and residents are not openly neglected.

Those businesses are not profitable unless they bleed the bank funds of the residents dry and keep the facilities understaffed.
There’s also a lack of desire for those jobs so the people that do take them tend to care less (generally speaking).
This is all IMO with first hand knowledge.
She should find a better way to help.

If the business model is truly not workable (and I don’t doubt you — I just don’t have the insider knowledge!) then maybe Megan can be the one that exposes this. It is a real problem in our country that has got to get solved, and she is an authentic marketing/publicizing genius.

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

Maybe, but she would have to have trustworthy people at all states running the daily operations. And when they quit they would have to be replaced with equally trustworthy, moral staffers.

She would also have to not run it as profitably as all the other assisted living facilities. I’ve seen the books and been to the meetings. You get a few steps above prison food for tens of dollars per meal more.

There’s also a good, long history of these facilities being run by sketchy people. Or just in time, greedy people. I like her and think her heart is in the right place, but unless she’s reinventing the wheel It will be just one more place.

Luh her so much, she’s so sweet and also so impressive

  9. Smegmoria says:

She has fun financial advice videos on youtube.

don’t want this comment to be interpreted as shaming megan for her body or weight or height because i’m almost as tall as she is and think she has an amazing body (OK, i actually have a lesbian crush on her, i said it)…but highly impressed that Pardi can actually lift her up like that in slide 5 of that instagram post. like, genuinely, no sarcasm.

  11. detritus says:

She seems like she has a heart of gold. She’s up there with NasX on my protect these previous bebes list.

Don’t let the world hurt them.

I am with you on that, they are both beautiful people and genuine national treasures.

    • Otaku fairy says:

Agreed. In a couple of ways, they’re both showing certain people who and what they weren’t able to get rid of.

  12. LadySwampwitchGivsneaufux says:

Love this woman. She will do great things.

I’m wondering if it’s the administrators that bankrupt these places. Maybe she can pay the head administrators a little less and then bring up the care a bit more by paying entry level CNA’s what they should get paid. Just a thought. But, I really love her passion and enthusiasm. I am an LMHC and definitely disillusioned about the way some community mental health clinics are run, but I think new blood may have thoughts to help make a fix, if not at least a dent, in the problem.
