Prince Andrew screamed at a Windsor gardener last year, where’s his bullying investigation?

Prince Andrew has apparently always treated staff poorly. Just after he was stripped of his HRH and his patronages, a former Buckingham Palace maid told her story about how Andrew would scream at her often and how he refused to do anything for himself. He also had dozens of stuffed animals on his bed – as an adult man, in his 40s – which had to be arranged a certain way. Those stories were from the 1990s and early 2000s. But guess what? Andrew still screams at staff on a regular basis. Again, where is the energy for a bullying investigation into Andrew’s behavior??

Under-pressure Prince Andrew shouted at a female gardener over wrongly-cut trees — just days after he was served with his sex case writ. The Duke left the flunkey “shaken and upset” in Windsor after he had been served his sex-abuse writ by accuser Virginia Giuffre.

He “shouted and yelled” at the flunkey who wasn’t to blame, it is claimed. A royal insider said: “Andrew is under a great deal of stress but it’s no reason to take it out on staff doing their job. She had nothing to do with the damage and felt it was unfair. After all, it’s only a few saplings.”

The gardener was part of a team working on the young trees in October when the Duke stomped out of his 31-room, £30million Royal Lodge mansion on the Queen’s Windsor estate. His outburst came soon after he had been served with a sex abuse writ by Virginia Giuffre, a trafficking victim of the prince’s former pals Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Numerous people are said to have witnessed his tantrum and haranguing.

The gardener, who The Sun on Sunday is not identifying, still works for the Queen at Windsor Castle but no longer tends the grounds of Andy’s home. The insider said of the bust-up: “There was a team of gardeners tending the grounds and Andrew spotted a problem with saplings. He started screaming and shouting, ‘What have you done?’ The gardener was very upset and shaken. She has always been considered conscientious and hard-working. Andrew was over the top. You just don’t talk to people like that no matter who you are.”

[From The Sun]

This would have been last summer, that’s when David Boies (Virginia’s lawyer) had Andrew “served” in the UK. Am I the only one who wonders just what the gardener actually did though? I’m not saying anything would justify being screamed at by a rapist loser, but I would like to know what the hell the gardener did with the saplings? Were they too close together? Not planted in the right place? Were the saplings dying? The lack of specificity is interesting. There should definitely be a bullying investigation to work out what really happened.

I “like” how there is still a thread of sympathy for Andrew in these stories – “he was under a great deal of stress” and then it says “but of course that doesnt excuse his behavior.” It sounds to me like the yelling at staff is pretty par for the course with Andrew and someone IS trying to find an excuse for it.

“Under a great deal of stress” — stress that is his own creation. And still not anywhere near the level of stress that trafficked women experienced. And to call the gardener a “flunky” is beyond low, even for a British tabloid.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

Someone who writes for The Sun/BM calling a gardener a ‘flunkey’is incomprehensible. IMO, the RR’s, as a whole, are flunkeys for the RF/BM.

Andrew probably gave a sketch of how the saplings were to be cut and one was Bearly cut wrong. Misspelling intended.

everyone is under stress – there is a damn pandemic and ongoing multiple other crises. his crises are self-inflicted. awful man. awful family and system.

I will stop criticizing the royal family when they, along with the entire British press, issue the Duchess of Sussex an apology. Until then, it’s Katie bar the door, because I am on a rampage about them. And, I am frankly, kind of pissed off at all Brits. Brexit started it and it has just been downhill from there from there for me.

Again with the VERY specific allegations but when it came to Meghan there were only vague mutterings. And where are the horrible names that staff call Andy? That doesn’t seem to be a factor in his case either.

Im still stuck on the housekeeper having to climb 4 flights of stairs to close the curtains he was sitting next to. I would have bopped him on the head!

  5. Chloe says:

Notice how these claims of bullying actually come with clear examples?

  6. Mslove says:

What will the palace do if Andrew’s found guilty of a bullying investigation? Take away his stuffed animals? What they should do is turn Andrew into a butler or footman and have him work for the nastiest royal in that family.

    • BW says:

But he won’t work for himself?

    • The+Truth+Piper says:

Andrew is a spoiled, out-of-touch, worthless aristocrat who contributes zero to humanity.

The U.K. ought to abolish the British Royal Family. They’re a public embarrassment, have a poor work ethic and are an unnecessary financial drain on the country’s taxpayers.

“What will the palace do if Andrew’s found guilty of a bullying investigation? ”

      Will never happen.

  7. Lizzie Bathory says:

Can’t say I’m surprised that the people he’s on record for bullying (thus far) are women.

  8. Heidi says:

Apparently, the knives are out for Andrew at the palace, he is fair game for the press to do with as they please. I really need more popcorn.

    • @BayTampaBay says:

Would you like hot melted butter on that popcorn and box of dark-chocolate Nestle Rasinets??? LOL!

  9. Teddy says:

It’s creepy how comfortable they are with calling the gardener a “flunky”. Gross. Also the piece says the tantrum was about someone pruning the trees incorrectly.

    • Seaflower says:

Just about to comment on that as well. Very demeaning

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

Opps, I posted the same thing in response to someone above before I saw your comment. Totally agree. There is obvious aggression towards the woman, coming from the author.

  10. Over it says:

Boo f—-ing ho , he is under pressure,WGAF? . He is not the victim, Virginia is, the gardener is, Andrew is a petulant asshole and if he had screamed at me, I would have socked him with a sapling.

  11. Seaflower says:

The good thng is MM’s lawyers will be taking notes and will come at them armed to clear M, and demand to know why Nonce is not investigated.

The RF and grey men are not very smart.

  12. Amy Bee says:

Yeah, where’s the bullying investigation of Andrew?

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

Andrew will never be investigated by the royals, for anything. They will ignore him and anything connected with him until the public forgets. Even the lawsuit — which he will settle using the Queen’s money, no matter how much it costs — will be ignored. They will probably say something vague following a settlement, such as, “The unproven allegations were a private affair, and the lawsuit has been dismissed” — and then never mention it again. And Andrew goes on his life as usual.

    • Tessa says:

Andrew should be held accountable. But he’s the queen’s favorite, so…
