Prince Charles has three Covid shots & he tested positive during a ‘routine’ test

As I said in the previous post, when I first saw the photos of Prince Charles at the British Asian Trust event last night, I thought he looked ill. I second-guessed it because of the lighting on the red carpet, and because Charles has looked somewhat unwell for a while now (his hands especially). As it turns out, Charles has Covid and he was probably very symptomatic last night at the event. He did not wear a mask, neither did Camilla and neither did the many attendees of the British Asian Trust event. Charles was glad-handing everyone and leaning in to breathe on them. It was pretty bad! I wondered if he perhaps felt as bad as he looked. Well, Clarence House is being pretty squirrelly about it.

The Prince of Wales has tested positive for Covid-19 and is now self-isolating, Clarence House has said. This is the second time Prince Charles, 73, who is triple jabbed, has tested positive for the coronavirus after contracting the disease in March 2020. Aides said the prince was found to be positive during a routine test – which suggested he was experiencing no strong symptoms – but they declined to go into further details on his medical condition.

Both he and the Duchess of Cornwall have been taking regular tests before engagements and Clarence House said Camilla had a negative test on Thursday. Under current Covid rules, although she lives with Charles, Camilla is not required to self-isolate as she is also fully vaccinated.

A spokesman added: ‘The Duchess of Cornwall has routinely tested negative today. She is on a separate series of engagements from the Prince of Wales.’

While in the past, Covid rules would have dictated that all those who had come into contact with the prince must self-isolate, it is no longer a requirement. It comes a day after Boris Johnson announced he plans to axe all virus restrictions in England by the end of the month which would mean even those who have tested positive for the virus will not be required to self-isolate, ‘provided the current encouraging trends in the data continue’.

Currently, people who develop Covid symptoms or test positive must self-isolate for 10 days (or five full days following two negative lateral flow test results).

[From The Daily Mail]

“Aides said the prince was found to be positive during a routine test” AND Camilla tested negative today, Thursday? That says to me that Charles and Camilla both took tests today after Charles likely felt like hell last night and this morning. That man truly took his clammy, viral load self to an event just so he could breathe on Indians!!! The nerve, the audacity of it. So yes, I do think the whole “these were just routine tests” thing is just a cover story. He looked ill and he felt ill.

Also: Charles has apparently seen the Queen in person recently, this week, in the past few days.

I wonder how many people are thinking what I’m thinking. I really hope the queen doesn’t get sick

    • souperkay says:

Chaz goes, then the queen goes because Chaz goes, and we are left with the other brother

    • CuriousCole says:

I am also concerned about that. He finally got her to endorse Camilla as the future queen, so HM has now outlived her usefulness to him.

    • ThatsNotOkay says:

I…I really don’t think he’s gonna make it. It’d be his own fault, but I’m not looking forward to TOB’s ascension.

Who am I kidding? Bulliam’s ascension will be a shit show and he will be responsible for the downfall of the monarchy. So I’m good either way.

He looks like someone who drinks, rather heavily by the looks of it. He’s always red and his hands are swollen. I don’t think he’s all that healthy.

    • CuriousCole says:

      @Candy, Google rosacea.

    • Jaded says:

He likely has rosacea. There are other medical conditions like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma which could account for the redness and swollen fingers. While I think he enjoys a drink, I doubt he’s drinking to the point where he’s turning into WC Fields.

As much as this pains me to provide ANY defense of Chuck…
When my husband had covid, his symptoms came on suddenly while at work. He felt totally fine that morning (and thankfully wasn’t working with anyone), and just started feeling unwell later that day. I tested him when he got home and it was negative. The next morning, it was positive, which was confirmed with a PCR test.

Same for my brother (vaccinated and never got a positive test). He had breakfast, went to work, popped an altoid mint in at 10 am and couldn’t taste it. Then he had all the symptoms, but never tested positive. He recovered fully within a week though.

    • EPPY says:

Yeah, if he’s triple jabbed he might have very mild symptoms, even now. People do take tests pretty regularly in the UK, and mask mandates have been lifted. This only looks suspicious if you refuse to accept that countries have different rules, advice, and approaches to handling Covid.

We had it recently – I thought I had hayfever & was only testing because I’d been around someone else who had tested positive.

  4. Mich says:

He breathed all Priti Patel. I have no problem with that. She is a deeply cruel fascist who delights in the fact that she has the power to hurt people, especially refugees.

Charles will be fine. Vaxxed and boosted and I would guess he is already taking something like Paxlovid. The Queen, however… What a terrible risk for him to have taken.

  5. FM says:

Charles doesn’t look healthy. He looks puffy and bloated. Not sure its just Covid either.

    • Jaded says:

Read upthread on rosacea, RA, lupus, etc. Many seem to think he’s an alcoholic but there are a number of medical conditions and medications that can cause redness and swollen fingers/hands.

    • Jennifer says:

Eh, he’s always looked like crap to me and rosacea makes him look like he has a fever anyway. Like, how can you tell he’s looking worse, honestly?

  6. Catherine says:

I think the Queen had Covid. After Philip’s death she was out and about. Everyone was commenting on how happy and vibrant she looked. Then late oct/ early Nov. that changed culminating in the hidden trip to the hospital. Since then she has looked utterly frail. First I thought she had a bad fall but her continued frailty hints at something more systemic. IMO. The woman should be in a strict bubble. And quite frankly planning for her to attend a diplomatic reception and thanksgiving service in March which will involve large numbers is utterly irresponsible.

  7. Amy Bee says:

CH has to say that he had no symptoms because if he did and went to the gala event anyway, that would be a terrible look for him.

  8. Becks1 says:

I bet he is tested regularly anyway, probably a few times a week at least, regardless of how he feels. So who knows if he actually felt sick last night or just got tested this AM as a matter of course.

  9. Mrs. Smith says:

Maybe also regular old hypertension. Mix Covid with rheumatoid arthritis and sky-high blood pressure and whoa. That purple-red color of his face just looks painful. He needs some serious rest.

  10. serena says:

“Those who have tested positive for the virus will not be required to self-isolate”.. what the hell is this insanity? And why is Boris Johnson still speaking?

Also it’s disgusting how they’re covering up for him when he should just apologize and maybe, I don’t know, state he’ll be more careful during public events and, again I don’t know, maybe keep social distance and wear a damn mask.

  11. Pat says:

/Erythromelalgia it’s chronic and not curable. It effects hands and face.

  12. Tessa says:

If he goes out on public appearances, he should be tested a few hours before he mingles with the public. Not just “routine” tests. He does not social distance to say the least.

  13. Jumpingthesnark says:

He looks like grandpa Munster in those pics
