Brooklyn Beckham & Nicola Peltz had a Wendy’s food truck at their wedding

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz got married in April. American Vogue and British Vogue got some exclusive photos to post on their social media accounts, and Nicola and Brooklyn also posted some exclusive stuff on their social media. I wondered if that would be it, or if there was a magazine editorial for the wedding to come. Well, here we go. Nicola and Brooklyn cover the June issue of British Vogue, and there are exclusive wedding portraits and pre-wedding photos. The cover story is all about the wedding too, with lots of new details (which I genuinely enjoyed). They even (finally) talk about the wedding food! Some highlights:

Nicola’s Valentino gown: Originally, Nicola planned to double down on Valentino’s iconic embellishment and embroidery for the dress, but when she tried on the toile version of creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s sketches she fell for the elegance of its simplicity, featuring an open back, delicate lace veil and an 11ft train. Without Nicola’s knowledge, her mother, Claudia, had asked the seamstresses to sew in an evil eye to protect her on her big day. She also instructed them to use baby-blue thread to discreetly embroider: “Nicola, my heart. You are me, I am you. All my love, all my life, my beautiful girl, inside and out. Love, mom.” “I’m happy she showed that to me after the ceremony,” Nicola says, “because I just burst into tears.”

Brooklyn loved his bride’s dress: “The highlight of the whole wedding for me was seeing her for the first time in that dress,” Brooklyn says. “It was the first time ever in my life when I felt like I couldn’t catch my breath.”

They spent the night before their wedding apart: “Brooklyn and I are pretty inseparable, so that was dramatic,” she says – so the next time they saw each other was at their ceremony. As they read their vows, she dabbed tears away from Brooklyn’s eyes with her handmade French lace gloves.

Wedding inspo: “[David & Victoria’s] wedding was incredible and those pictures are iconic,” Nicola says, “but the wedding we were most inspired by was Iman and David Bowie’s.” The rock legend and supermodel were married in 1992 and Nicola’s hair and make-up were inspired by another ’90s supermodel, Claudia Schiffer.

Wedding food: “The only thing that Brooklyn cared about was the food,” Nicola recalls, describing a menu prepared by Thierry Isambert Culinary & Event Design. Halibut, filet mignon and a vegan osso buco were served. Nicola’s favourite fruit are dates, so the head table featured centrepieces full of them. “Brooklyn has a thing about square plates and big forks,” she says, laughing. “That was the only thing he outlawed.”

Nicola’s father owns Wendy’s: The culinary experience peaked at the after-party, when a Wendy’s food truck pulled up to serve cheeseburgers, fries and chicken nuggets. “We didn’t eat at all until we got to the Wendy’s truck, and then I had three burgers,” Nicola says. “It was my idea,” adds Brooklyn. “A perfect final touch.”

[From British Vogue]

Wedding reception/afterparty food trucks are such a thing these days, and I don’t really get why? Y’all know you can just do a f–king buffet with chicken nuggets, hamburgers, Frostees and fries, right? I mean, I get wanting an elegant wedding with halibut and filet mignon. But it seems like a weird flex to have ONE Wendy’s food truck for five hundred guests for the afterparty. Anyway, these two sound obsessed with each other and it also sounds like Nicola got her dream wedding and Brooklyn was totally fine with Nicola getting her dream wedding. So many of you were like “I give it two years.” Come on, they’ll probably make it three years.

I get him being head over heels with a skinny blonde Billionaire Heiress but whats her angle!?

    • Emme says:

Well @Noki, her lot may have the money, but the Beckhams bring to the table the well-known brand, the recognition, the publicity, the allusive star-quality (plus they’re rich!)

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Her angle is to use his parents fame and celebrity influence to promote herself – she’s a bit part actress/model who clearly has celebrity ambitions. Girl is thirsty for it.

  2. Jais says:

I did not know her dad owned Wendy’s. And did the food truck serve frostys?

  3. jferber says:

These Vogue photos are everything (bad). So thirsty. The pic where she’s laying her hand on his so everyone can see the tacky, upgraded ring (that looks like one of those candy rings kids have, but in diamonds)? I think Victoria is probably not happy, but Brooklyn is for now (which is what matters to her). And yes, Noki, I don’t know what her angle is. He is very famous for his parents?

  4. LadyMTL says:

I’m honestly trying to wrap my head around the concept of a vegan Ossobuco. I…yeah, I can’t do it. Is it just another fancied-up mushroom dish? Not a dig at vegans, but ossobuco means “marrowbone” in English! I know, I know, I’m being pedantic.

    • Hootenannie says:

@LADYMTL- Precise, not pedantic! They could easily have given the mushroom dish a more accurate name. I can handle their bougieness (to an extent) but they lost me at that absurdity.

    • Persephone says:

You’re not being pedantic. I can’t imagine it either.

    • Phyllis says:

THANK YOU!!! Here to say the same thing “for the love of Beyoncé, what on earth is vegan is so bucco???”

    • Juniper says:

THANK YOU! I was confused by this as well. Osso Bucco is traditionally made with lamb shank and there are vegetables in it, but nothing that stands out. There’s a variation with Oxtail as well. I guess it would be just vegetable stew if it was vegan. Ridiculous.

    • Leslie says:

Oh thank you. I was wondering the same… Vegan osso bucco???

  5. jferber says:

The last pic looks like he’s rescuing her from a shipwreck. (I won’t be nasty about that last word).

  6. Julia K says:

Who gets tired of who first, that’s the bottom line. My money is on the lovely bride.

  7. Nicole says:

I am rooting for them, but there is a large part of me that is like “eat the rich”.

  8. Elizabeth says:

Wasn’t her dad a pretty prominent Tr*mp supporter? Yikes to all of them for that.

    • Truthiness says:

💯 and her father funds Joe Manchin. Calls him weekly to make sure he doesn’t accidentally vote for civil rights, voting rights, you name it. It was curious to me how many photos blanketed the internet of the couple and all of the Beckham family but you had to really look for pics of her family. Wonder what the parents really think of Brooklyn.

      • Lemons says:

They probably think he’s a nice kid or else she would be disinherited. But that type of wealth (and evil politics) likes to stay in the shadows. No protestors surprising them at restaurants if they don’t know what they look like!

  9. AngelaH says:

How do you discreetly embroider an entire paragraph into a wedding dress? Nevermind. I don’t really care. I would be pissed if my mom went behind my back to make ANY changes to my dress.

    • margie says:

Also, the mom is making it all about her! This day isn’t about the mother and daughter. I’d be mad, like butt out mom, the time has come for me to make a family with someone else.

  10. Stef says:

She is quite stunning while he gives me nothing but douche canoe vibes. Love her dress and the stitched-in message from her mom is beautiful.

Suppose I just can’t get over how untalented he is and how many times his rich and famous parents have tried to buy him a career. If he’s such a “tv chef”, why do we are ZERO of that in his wedding cuisine discussion? Telling.

I give them 1 year of happiness and 2 years of regret, so 3 years tops. They’re both still kids and have a lot of growing up to do…

  11. JustMe says:

All I see is Peaky Blinders Michael and Gina lol

  12. The Recluse says:

I’m indifferent to these birthright sweepstakes winners, but….
if I had ever gotten married and had money to do whatever I wanted, I would have had taco and pizza trucks for my guests.

  13. jferber says:

    I bet they’ll have a baby soon. I don’t know why I think that.
