Dita Von Teese was once best-known as the wife of alternative rock weirdo Marilyn Manson. Since their breakup in 2006, Dita seems to be moving on to bigger and better things: an international tour where she was hit on by the likes of royalty; a lingerie fashion line and numerous magazine spreads. Meanwhile, her ex-husband took up with teen actress Evan Rachel Wood, a pretty, talented girl in her own right. Funny thing was, about five minutes after hooking up with Manson, Evan started dressing a lot like Dita. A lot of people wondered if Manson ever really got over his wife and if perhaps he was trying to mold the young actress into a version of her. Whatever happened, there is apparently not a lot of love between the two women, who ran into each other in New York at an event.
Dita Von Teese comes face-to-face with the “teenager” who stole her then-husband Marilyn Manson during Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars held Thursday at NYC’s Cipriani Wall Street.
Moments after Gwen Stefani’s amicable breakup ode Cool plays, smug Evan Rachel Wood struts through, sidling right up beside Dita, 37, who is chatting away with reporters. At 7:45 p.m., the burlesque babe cups her hands to her face and scatters as soon as she realizes the girl who ruined her happy life is inches away when flashbulbs start popping.
Evan, 22, is added to the event at the last minute, so it is unclear whether she knew she would attend, but she seems completely caught off-guard.
Even before the lover of her ex-husband arrives, Dita is discussing heartbreak.
“I think I’ve become a little bit more careful in my selection now,” she says of what she wants in a man these days. “I look for people that keep me calm and bring happiness and joy to my life instead of the opposite of that. I look for elegance combined with someone who has great sexual chemistry with me. It’s the good parts of the bad guy and the good parts of the good guy, too. I like all of it.”
She tears up when asked how she bounced back from her 2007 divorce, telling me, “I’m not anyone to give relationship advice. I don’t want to talk about it anymore.”
Now dating Count Louis Marie de Castelbajac, 25, for seven months, the starlet is becoming bi-continental.
“He lives in Paris, and I just got an apartment there, so I’m really excited to go between L.A. and Paris so that I can really appreciate the great things about L.A. and the great things about Paris because there’s great things about both,” she says. “I’m just excited about living in both places for awhile. But it’s still new. It’s seven months in. It’s in that great new stage.”
Dita is on hand to promote her cocktail Cointreau Teese, the drink of the evening, and present an award to designer Stephen Jones. We assume Evan just likes fashion and creating a stir, as she simply gave a knowing glance when asked how it feels to be here.
According to 2006 divorce papers, Evan was a factor in their split. Dita and Marilyn, 40, were together for seven years, and their marriage ended after one year. Evan appeared in Marilyn’s 2007 video, Heart-Shaped Glasses. Both count themselves as his exes now.
Could OK! Magazine make this sound any more dramatic? Jeez! I mean, I’m sure it wasn’t a picnic for either of them but until I see photographic evidence of Dita cupping her face in horror and gasping at Evan, I don’t really believe it was that extreme. I have a hard time believing that Dita has the time or energy to work up even a single teardrop over her creepy ex anymore. But one thing I didn’t know was that Evan and Manson are back off again. Last I knew, they’d reunited after her movie “The Wrestler” came out, so that shows what I know. You can always tell when Evan’s back with him because she starts dying her hair black again. But maybe that’s changed. Who can keep up with those two, anyway?

I like Dita. I used to like Wood,but an not so keen on her now (no, it has nothing to do with her hooking up with my Swedish dreamboat, Alex!) due to the fact she seems to be very full of herself now.
I wasn’t aware that Wood was the reason for the Dita/Marilyn split, as I thought he was CRAZAY about his Dita. Of course, I was well aware that Manson and Wood split up, as they have both gone on to other gf/bf’s since. Wood was dating that one actor (can’t think of his name off hand) who I SWORE was gay (nice looking, short. think he may be or was on Lost?!) and also Alex.
Evan’s been linked with Alexander Skarsgaard for the last month or so.
That may have gone smoother than you think. Let me just say, I think both of these women are plenty more mature to understand they both had the same man, dumped him, then moved on. I really cant imagine it bothers either one. To everyone else its enough to instigate a brawl on the carpet, but these two seem much MUCH above that.
And say whatever you want about MM but get this, he has an eye for women and knows how to snag’em and keep’em. why else would Dita spend 7 years of her life with him? Then marry him? Does that say more about him or her?
I like both women, although Evan seems to have a little bit more scandal or mischief to her persona. Both are very beautiful.
But I can see how Dita, who was in her 30’s, wouldn’t be to keen on seeing the young girl (she was only 18!) who broke up your marriage.
Dita should be saying “good riddance”… Marilyn Manson is gross. And talks openly about fantasizing about murdering his ex girlfriends. Who wants that shit?
I bet Dita cupped her face to keep the words “bitch please” from coming out!
Gwen looks fantastic! I don’t think i’ve ever seen her w.o that bright red lipstick. I hope she explores this look.

(I was a little hot on Shane Wassisface back in the ER days, though. So between him and Alexander I kind of have to hate her now.)

Wood was in 3 movies I actually liked- The upside of Anger (I think I am the only one who liked that movie), Down in the Valley, and Thirteen. I haven’t seen The Wrestler, but when it makes it to HBO, I will watch it.

i think dita looks way better at 37 than evan rachel wood does at 22. she has class and confidence while evan just looks like an insecure little girl who is dressed into something that she didn’t pick to wear and isn’t quite comfortable in her skin yet.
evan may be younger, but Dita has her beat. Evan’s youthfulness only shows in her arrogance and attitude. Dita is stunning and classy.

Now after looking at all the photos, I have to reiterate DITA WINS the damn dressoff in spades. That curtain THING on Evan is horrific. Love the bronze dress on whoever that is, and Gwen looks fantastic with fake hairpiece, but her dress is awful.

I know Wood. She not a stuck up person. She is funny as hell. But, she is a bit insecure, so sometimes puts on a character to cover for it.
That’s a nice thing to say about Wood, and I totally get it. However, I was not at ALL impressed with her acting in the Woody Allen movie “Whatever Works.” I literally cringed. That accent and the constant twirling of the hair and bobbing of the head – uggghh. Actually, more disappointed with Woody, as he was the director and thought that was acceptable. Woods is ok, but she’s got a lot more proving to do as an actress. I’m just sayin’…also, what either of them saw in Marilyn, I will never know.

This is all bullshit. Dita doesn’t give a damn about this subject anymore. It all happened a long ago and her life moved on beautifully. She has a gorgeous new beau and her career is reaching new heights. Why would she care about Manson?
Now, there’s something about this chick Evan…I just can’t stand her, for some unknown reason. I don’t know, maybe it’s her trademark air of “overgrown angsty teen” that annoys me (honestly, at age 22, I think her “twisted Lolita” trick is getting too old). The only thing I’ve seen ERW in was True Blood and she was atrocious. Even beside Bill, her acting was awful (and he’s so wooden).
As for Iman, she hosts Project Runway Canada and Heidi is gorgeous but Iman is just 100% glamour. When Heidi comes out to talk to the designers, she shifts and moves her hands a lot. Iman comes out, strikes a pose and never moves. It’s amazing really. And she knows how to sit in a chair.
Evan acts like a brat, and needs to grow up. But so does Manson–a 40 yr old man’s mid-life crisis playing out for the world to see.
Dita should count herself lucky to be away from Manson and his “ghoulishness” that only a child like Evan would find “oooo, Coooool!!”
