Jerry Hall had Rupert Murdoch served with divorce papers on the tarmac

In June, the New York Times broke the story that Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall were headed for divorce. Again, the Times broke the story, not the Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal or New York Post. I still believe that Hall leaked the story to the Times. Just before the 4th of July holiday weekend, Jerry filed for divorce in an LA court, and there was significant buzz that Hall wanted a nice divorce settlement with no muss and no fuss. Jerry is going for it though – she had Rupert served with divorce papers as he boarded a private jet in England.

Rupert Murdoch was served divorce papers by Jerry Hall’s lawyers as he was boarding his private jet after his granddaughter’s wedding, Mail Plus reports. Mr Murdoch, 91, was handed the legal documents in the car park of RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire just before he board the plane.

The ‘shocked’ media mogul was handed the papers by a former Met Police anti-terror officer, now private investigator, Michael Colacicco, US court documents have shown.

Reports have claimed that billionaire Rupert Murdoch, who is worth an estimated $17.7 billion (around £14.7billion), effectively ended his six-year marriage to Miss Hall in an email to Miss Hall, 66. Sources have claimed she ‘devastated’ by the breakdown of her marriage, and that she believes Mr Murdoch was unhappy she kept him isolated to stop him getting Covid-19.

Former model Miss Hall filed for divorce in Los Angeles on July 1, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’. California is a ‘community property state’, so property acquired during the marriage is a 50/50 split as a default.

[From The Daily Mail]

The Mail also published photos of Rupert being served, because that’s how Fleet Street operates. You think the Mail’s editors weren’t giddy with the realization that they got pics of THE Rupert Murdoch being served as he tried to board his private plane? The Mail did refer to the process server as a “henchman employed by Jerry Hall” though. LMAO.

As for the rumors that Rupert was the one who wanted out of the marriage… that’s certainly a rumor coming out of Murdoch’s camp. Apparently, Lachlan Murdoch (the heir apparent) is taking credit for “convincing” his father to dump Jerry, and Lachlan has been “advising” Rupert on PR strategies around the divorce too. Nevermind that the story leaked to the New York Times first and nevermind that Jerry had Rupert served on a tarmac??

Oh I do wonder just how much money Jerry Hall is going to get for her divorce settlement. I would find it hard to believe that Mr. Murdoch did not make her sign a prenuptial agreement. She is 66 and he is 91 and they have been married since 2016. I would assume Jerry has grown accustomed to a very lavish lifestyle that she will no longer be able to enjoy after her divorce.

I suspect 50% of what Rupert Murdoch earned from 2016 to present is a considerable amount, but she is going to need excellent lawyers and accountants to find it.

Given her Jagger history, she does tend to fall in love with jerks, so maybe don’t be so quick to imply she’s a gold digger. Her lifestyle was lavish by most standards long before they met. She probably put a lot into the marriage. A certain type of straight white man gets exceptionally needy as they age.

Looks like Jerry took a leaf out of Marcia Roy’s book and went medieval on his a*se.

so i bet she found out she gets nothing when he dies- (douche -bro lachlan was proabably dumb enough to tell her) so shes better off divorcing and getting her the cash from her prenup. There had to have been a pre-nup.

I’d love to see Jerry go feral, but I fear she’s much too nice for that. I’d love it if she had ex Mick (another tightfist) advising her how to give him the business ( read he did not like the man). Better, maybe he lent her his killer lawyers to go after Murdoch.

I’ve always like Jerry Hall. Fellow Texan.

  6. Arralethe says:

Why on earth does he get to keep and board his private plane at a Crown military base? That’s disgusting – Brize Norton is wear servicemen killed in action are flown into, not decrepit, dishonest media moguls.

But go, Jerry. You get your payday for being with this monster.

  7. Valerie says:

How could she stand him? I’m glad she’s breaking it off with him and trying to milk him for all that he’s worth, but I’m having a hard time feeling any deep sympathy for her when she knew the kind of person he was when they met.

Why was he shocked at being served papers? He was the one who ended their marriage via email, wasn’t he? What did he expect? He put the ball in her court and this is the next step. Good for her for getting a lawyer quickly and getting on with life.

  9. jferber says:

She always said he was a gentleman to her, but as always, that can change really quickly. He is a monster and may even have eternal life for all I know. I don’t think she’s going for the really big money, but he’s probably trying to get out of a perhaps too-generous pre-nup? Bad dude. Bad faith.
