Taylor Swift & Joe Alwyn ‘love dividing their time between England & Nashville’

Us Weekly did a kind of strange story about Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn. JoeTay have been together since the fall of 2016 by most accounts. She was coming out of her chaotic summer fling with Tom Hiddleston – including a Tiddlebanging Love Tour – and Taylor was in the mood for something a lot quieter. All of which means that JoeTay will probably celebrate their six-year couple-anniversary this fall. Despite persistent rumors of a secret engagement or secret wedding, Joe and Taylor have never confirmed anything. That report from the Sun about a firm engagement just… went nowhere. Neither of them said anything. So… here’s Us Weekly’s update:

Forever her London boy! Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn “have the best of all worlds” more than five years into their relationship, a source exclusively reveals in the latest Us Weekly issue.

“They love dividing their time between England and Nashville,” the insider says, noting, “That’s the way they both like it.”

The “Lover” songstress, 32, and the British actor, 31, were first linked in 2017 with news of their romance becoming public in May of that year. Ever since they connected, the twosome have managed to keep their private relationship low-key and mostly under wraps.

“Once Taylor and Joe started dating it became apparent to both of them that they were happiest doing their own thing in a low-key way,” the source tells Us.

The Grammy winner and the Conversations With Friends star’s desire to remain independent amid their romance has only strengthened them as a couple, per the insider, who notes, “That was a big reason why they bonded.”

Swift and Alwyn are “wildly happy together and are excited about their future together,” the source adds.

I’m sure that the fact that there’s no good gossip around JoeTay is probably very healthy for Taylor in particular, and it seems like it’s Joe’s call too. He doesn’t want to be known as Mr. Taylor Swift. He doesn’t want to go on love tours or wear an “I Heart T.S.” t-shirt. So… will they just do it like this forever? Just live together, split their time between Nashville and London (and LA and New York) and never get married? What’s weird is that it’s honestly feels like Taylor has been dropping major, public hints to Joe that she wants to get married. Is he not taking the bait?

Why does it matter? They are happy. Gossip mentions marriage.
Claiming she is dropping hints about marriage is honestly so sexist to me.
Maybe she doesn’t want to get married! Could be true even if she wanted fairytales before

    • Said says:

Agree. She’s just making music once again that is relevant to her and her Fanbase. If you believe in the fairytale dream magic production of weddings and promise of a life of love, then you’re probably trying to get married around this age that Taylor is now. Not to accuse her of doing weddingcos for money or attention but seriously just because it’s relevant. Whether young girls long for a romantic marriage or not, most are at least aware of the mega phenomenon of marrying in their 20s and 30s. And JoeTay does not work. If anything it’s TayJoe because she’s the more recognizable name.

I wonder why this article has even popped up? Is it to keep her name out there because all celebs/stars need to be “seen?” Or are they not doing well? Are they about to get married? I’m not a fan but I’m curious.

    Dear Taylor

Very good, well done. Now – would you mind having a word in the ear of the Peltz-Beckhams please?

  4. Stupidpeopletricks says:

She had to remind us how private they are.

I would imagine that whether Taylor emotionally wants to marry him, she is still practical, strategic, and business-focused, and there are a million legal issues she would want locked down before she would go through it. Maybe it feels like a pain for both of them to bother when they already feel committed.

All I have to say is that my opinion of Joe Alwyn went up exponentially after watching Conversations with Friends. Think he’s a fantastic actor and totally get why Taylor hyped him in her music. Get it Taylor! Hope she’s happy.

Maybe she learned her lesson from the all-too-publicness of Hiddlestaylor — she has been pretty low-key about this relationship in terms of press and I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a kind of “secret” (i.e., only friends and family know) wedding and then release photos afterwards.

I also wonder if maybe they’re trying to get pregnant and will get married after they have a baby. I know quite a few people who think there’s no need to get married unless and until there’s a child, then after they’re parents, getting married seems right and logical.

I guess that explains all the private jet movement.

    • SAS says:

Yeah, this is soft PR re the jet stuff in my opinion. Rather than making them seem frivolous or trying to justify jetsetting for work etc, it’s about two people in love/family is important to them blah blah blah.
