King Charles & Prince William still haven’t contacted Prince Harry

Roya Nikkhah at the Times had a pretty awful story straight from Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace over the weekend. The gist was that King Charles “knows” he needs to make peace with Prince Harry, a peace in which all sides admit that mistakes were made (hm) and a peace which involves Harry shutting up (while his family continues to brief against him). Only then would they invite “the wives” into the meeting so that they can be given orders by the men. Nikkhah’s task was supposed to be making Charles sound reasonable and conciliatory unlike his two hot-headed sons. When in reality, that story just emphasized that Harry’s message hasn’t actually gotten through at all, and Charles is still developing his strategy for his coronation, the only thing he cares about. It’s all moot anyway – the Sun’s sources (note: another Murdoch media outlet, like the Times) say that William and Charles still haven’t been in contact with Harry.

William and Charles have not spoken to Harry since he publicised his book Spare in damaging TV interviews, The Sun can reveal. Harry and Meghan are now sweating on an invite to the Coronation in May. Talk of a behind-the-scenes reconciliation summit ahead of the historic day have been dismissed.

A source said: “There has been no conversations or contact.”

Harry, 38, has been met with silence from the Royal Family after publishing his best-selling memoir.

The book includes revelations of a “fight” with William, rows between Meghan and Kate and private conversations with his father after the deaths of the Queen and Prince Philip. He claims to want reconciliation and is asking for private conversations with his father and brother.

But The Sun understands that neither William nor Charles have shared texts, emails, or calls with Harry in Montecito, California. Princess Anne and Prince Edward’s families have made it clear Harry is not welcome at the Coronation. They fear what they say could be used in his next book.

[From The Sun]

Harry and Meghan are not “sweating” an invitation to the coronation. Harry has repeatedly made his conditions clear, and he’s made his priorities clear as well: he wants the larger conversation with his family, full-stop. Charles is (again) the only one who gives a f–k about this fakakta coronation. Charles is (again) the one who will look like a rotten father if his younger son isn’t there. Instead of actually repeating any of the very clear statements Harry has made on the record in the American and British media, the Sun would rather go with this version. Pathetic.

Of course, The Sun is going to go with this version. The coronation is important to the monarchy and the monarchy is important to The Sun.

    • Midnight@theOasis says:

Not surprising the Murdoch owned family of papers (both UK and U.S.) are spewing this ridiculous garbage. Harry went in hard on Murdoch in Spare and basically called him evil incarnate. I’m sure Murdoch is out for revenge.

  2. TigerMcQueen says:

LMAO, H&M aren’t sweating nothing. These idiots really think the RF is the be all and all and cannot fathom someone walking away. They gaslight about their treatment of H&M for sure, but boy do they gaslight themselves too.

The thing is, no matter what, the coronation is going to be all about H&M. If they’re there, naturally, all eyes will be on them. But also if they’re NOT there, that’s going to take up most of the narrative. They have so much more power than King Snarles in this situation, so what is he going to do?

    • Hallie says:

I agree with this completely. Charles looks so weak and immature by not reaching out to his youngest son. All the coronation spotlight will be squarely on H&M.

      • Liz Version 700 says:

Charles looks more and more pathetic. Archie’s B-day party will get more news coverage than the coronation. H&M are just living their life and thriving.

  3. Mel says:

At this point, I don’t think Harry and Meghan have any intention of showing up at the huge waste of money that’s being performed to satisfy Charles ego.

  4. Nicki says:

The coronation will be interesting. It takes great personal magnetism and a certain stature to not be overwhelmed by that kind of pageantry. Charles just. doesn’t have it. The excesses of that ceremony will put an unflattering spotlight on Charles. He’ll be getting his heart’s desire and it’s going to fall short.

    • Agnes says:

The whole debacle beginning with Charles cheating on and gaslighting his young and vulnerable wife is like a medieval morality play with no redemption for the protagonist. He has learned nothing from his sins and in fact continues to inflict evil by allowing Camilla to trash his son and daughter-in-law for “good press.” You don’t have to be religious to see how badly being a selfish entitled asshole has turned out for C-Rex.

  5. Plums says:

These people are delusional if they think attending the coronation is something they’re holding over Harry’s head instead of the other way around.

  6. ThatsNotOkay says:

Come hell or high water, Charles is determined to pass along his generational trauma to both his sons and their heirs, or he will die trying. He’s a fool.

Hey, England, you king is also your court jester. Toad-faced clown.

  7. girl_ninja says:

Of course not. Those two trolls think that they are in the right and that Harry is wrong. They expected Harry to continue to take the years of abuse, disrespect and derogation because he is the Spare. He has no value other than to take their shit. It’s clear to me that Bill fully expected Harry to stay single and just be there for him. And Charles allowed lies about Harry going into rehab to look like the caring father when all he wanted to do was tampon that horrid woman.

If any apologies should be made it is to Harry from those two, so that will not likely happen.

  8. Wendy says:

Please, the only thing Harry and Meghan are sweating in May is the weather for Archie’s birthday party.

    • Beverley says:

Which will be perfect — clear blue, sunny skies, ocean breezes, and a lovely 72 degrees.
I know because I live in the Southern California coastal mountains.

  9. SaraTor says:

I think it was realistic for Harry to demur about going to the coronation and say a lot can happen between now and then. The royals just aren’t going to seriously reconcile with Harry and Meghan. Too much ego would need to be put aside for that to happen. William expected Harry’s girlfriend to curtsy to him at a private family dinner! So a public apology and course change from him is just not possible. I’m not 100% that Harry is unbothered and could care less about attending events like coronations. I think he is still enmeshed in the family/institution to some degree. It’s why he says he believes in monarchy, he struggles to see the full racism in his family (“unconscious bias”), he still holds on to his role, position and duty that was ingrained into him (ex. working with the Commonwealth as a future possibility, still wishing for reconciliation). That’s all natural and normal and it will take him a lifetime of unlearning, just on a public stage.

  10. Blue Nails Betty says:

“Harry and Meghan are now sweating on an invite to the Coronation in May.”

Harry and Meghan are now planning a birthday party for their son, Prince Archie, who is sixth in line to the throne. Sources have confirmed the chickens and Guy Markle will be in attendance. Love and party hats will be worn by all the party goers.

    FIFY, The Sun.

  11. Brassy Rebel says:

Since all the rain in California recently, it’s been pretty cool I understand. So, no, they’re not sweating 🥵😅.

  12. Amy Bee says:

Harry and Meghan won’t be showing up to the coronation unless they get an apology and given that they have accepted that they probably wont get one, they are not sweating an invitation. I think they would much prefer to stay home and celebrate Archie’s birthday.

  13. Rebecca says:

This quote: “Princess Anne and Prince Edward’s families have made it clear Harry is not welcome at the Coronation.”

Ummmm, Sophie and Mike Tindall need to take a seat since we all know who likes to chat with the media from Anne and Edward’s families. Who attends the Chuck Coronation is not a matter of Anne or Edward, much less their family members.

    • Laura D says:

These people really should take a back seat and say absolutely nothing. After the release of Spare a recent poll has shown that William now has ZERO support amongst 18-24 year olds. Yes, William’s still popular with the over 50s but, as the Newsweek article states they’re not important to the future of the monarchy as they won’t be around when William takes the throne. Instead of slating Harry at every given turn someone at KP should be reaching out to the couple in “Overseas.”

    • Christine says:

Can’t use “palace sources” for every single thing anymore, so Anne and Edward will be getting served up frequently, I imagine. Have fun with that.

      • SomeChick says:

Anne must be THRILLED. she’s managed to remain above the fray for 70 years and now this?! I don’t recall ever hearing anything about what Anne (nor Edward) think about anything before this.

  14. Well Wisher says:

Harry knows his father and brother. He is fully aware of their possible reactions to him telling his story.
At heart, one cannot say to any degree think of him as a raging Marxist republican since he has publicly stated that he is a monarchist.
He is not trying to burn it to the ground.

For him it is not about power nor status, it is about his future interactions with his extended family.

This article is trying to centre the conversation around Charles with the hope that it will be about the ‘offending’ media; in this case Murdoch’s sun.

If one look at this in a subjective manner there is no need to be focusing about the coronation that is 16 weeks ago.

Despite the efforts of the oligarch-led media in England, sales of Harry’s book indicate (that despite some minor book burning images )that is meant to distract; there is a hunger for truth as reality.

But said media that seem intent in proving Harry’s narrative and thesis about themselves is, once more, doing more of the same sh*t.

Just a different pile. There actions are meant to indicate a dithering monarch instead of controlling father.

A loving father would’ve been aware of and sympathetic to his son’s struggles with a vengeful and spiteful media and reconsider his contract with said media.

Now in the face of the overlying and stubborn dysfunction, one has to be prepared for whinging now, during, and after the ‘blasted’ upcoming event. The public is being held metaphorically hostage.

When he asked for a reconciliation on fair terms, Harry knew what the outcome could be and is probably mentally prepared for any eventuality.

With this trend of thought, it is unlikely that he looking for another codependent relationship with either his father or brother.

He wants to be free to love them unencumberedly in a healthy manner, it has nothing to do with the press nor the sick contract.

This distracting article is written as a poor attempt to booster and centre the conversation on the sh*tty sun and its avaricious need for sales and attention, written by a syncopant desperate to pay his mortgage.

  15. Jaded says:

You know Rebekah Brooks is sitting in her spider web salivating at the thought of taking Harry and Meghan down any way she can. He mentions her in a very disparaging manner (using a barely there cover name) several times in his book and she wants revenge. Well good luck with that Rebekah…they’ve probably got enough on you to send you away for a lonnnngggg time. Bring it on.

    • Christine says:

For the rest of time, there is a gorgeous book out there with “Prince Harry” stamped across his forehead. These people are surely going to tire themselves out eventually, this is just getting dumb. Even the criticisms are falling in the “quit whining” rather than “Harry is a liar” camp a lot of the time now. They believe Harry, and they are really made about it.

  16. Becks1 says:

Once again, another bad look for Charles. His son has written a book detailing his trauma and struggles growing up in a very mature, thoughtful and nuanced way, and Charles and William are just acting like if they ignore him, he’ll get over it.

Millions of people are reading this book and looking to Charles and William for their response – not for the gossip aspect of it, but for the familial aspect of it – “have you nothing to say in response to this?”

  17. Savvy Sue says:

KFC chose Archie’s birthday for his coronation date. Whats his and side piece’s gaslight strategy behind that decision?

    • Lady D says:

He’s giving them an excuse to not come to the coronation?

    • SomeChick says:

the coronation related disrespect of Harry and Meghan has already begun, is what I’m getting. we all saw how the funeral was handled. they want to have it both ways. Harry does what they want and they take every opportunity to hurt him. that’s not on the table, so we’ll see what happens. they’re still out here playing checkers.

    • Jennifer says:

I doubt they paid attention to birthdays of unwanted biracial grandchildren when scheduling.

  18. Saucy&Sassy says:

I cannot imagine that KFC and Fails is capable of understanding what Harry needs from them in order to reconcile. I think they have Harry as the spare and do not and can not simply see him as a man who has carved his own life.

Harry made it clear that there has to be accountability before reconciliation can happen. So, that’s not going to happen. I wonder if KFC or (particularly) Fails is frantically going through their text messages to find out what Harry has kept. I think that was a shot across the bow and the brf need to be careful about what they say about things.

Who is encouraging members of the brf to reconcile? The bm? Do you suppose someone finally said the quiet part out loud? The Sussexes will guarantee high ratings for the coronation. If someone in the Firm other than Eugenie had bothered to treat him like a real live person, the brf wouldn’t be in this position.

  19. Lizzie says:

Does all of this nonsense come from the same sources who 100% assured that NO ONE in UK would buy Harry’s book? The same sources who 100% assured Netflix was going to lose most subscribers from UK? The same sources who 100% assured Spotify was going to lose most subscribers from UK? Hmmm? Asking for a friend.

  20. Kingston says:

I’m just so tickled that Anne and Edward have been dragged into this, with quotes from them, no less, and yet they wont be able to utter a word of rebuttal because the entire windsor clan is owned, lock stock and barrel, by the britshidtmedia.

    Ditto their politicians.

JesusHChrist. What a disaster of a failed state.

    • Mary Pester says:

Oh dear, oh dear, I think the press are going to be in for a nasty shock by bringing princess Anne’s name into this. She has never had a lot of time for Charles and thinks he is a complete wet. But more interestingly she is the one who told the press to “naff of” when they were asking stupid questions and pushed her to far. Edward, well what can you say, eddy is a whimp. He parades around in uniform like a chocolate soldier and he couldn’t even make it through basic training. Hope coronation day isn’t to sunny eddy or all those chocolate medals will melt. And as for thug Tindal and his wife, they can both get back in the jungle or the pub, because they are as much use as a chocolate fireguard. She loves short skirts and alcohol and he loves alcohol and grabbing other women

  21. JMoney says:

They haven’t because they don’t trust themselves to behave cordially when speaking with H. Basically any contact with H they are now on notice that they will have to worry about H correcting that version publicly at some point. C&W are so dependent on feeding any intel on H to the press but now knowing H can speak for himself devalues what is given to the press and know they will need to feed it something else down the line (namely W’s family and his private life) and they resent Harry for it.

  22. Ace says:

If H&M don’t go to the coronation and are asked about it by legit media it’s going to be really fucking funny because they will respond, and you know there’s no way the RF and the BM will be able to stop themselves from claiming that H&M were snubbed or snubbed the royals, depending on the day of the week, and Harry has shown that he gives no fucks about leaving them with egg on their faces.

  23. Julia K says:

I would like Harry to say, through Archewell, that out of respect for the economic hardships many in England are now facing, it would be wrong for our family to come to the coronation and have security and transportation provided for us at great cost to the country. We will show our respect by watching it on tv.
