Rupert Everett thinks Prince Harry is ‘deranged’: ‘Nobody is giving him good advice’

Rupert Everett used to give interviews with some regularity. It was a lot like interviewing Morrissey – journalists know that they’re going to get some crazy quotes or soundbytes, so they basically just bait Rupert or Morrissey to talk their sh-t. Rupert sees himself as a charming older man who knows everyone and talks sh-t about everyone. More than a decade ago, Rupert’s mouth kept getting him into trouble, which is probably why he hasn’t made headlines for years now. Well, he has some new projects, so he sat down with the Telegraph to talk about straight actors playing gay characters, how he’s decided to leave the hair dye behind, and most significantly, he chats about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. He’s not a fan.

He gave up vampire facials, fillers & hair dye: ‘Because there’s a point where either you go for the full…’ he mimes the slice of the surgeon’s knife across his neck, ‘and I’m terrified of a five-hour anaesthetic – or you own it. Anyway, the parts I’d like to be playing now are 80- and 90-year-olds: King Lear-ish parts. I’m really enjoying pretending to be more decrepit than I am.’

He wants all the awards & honors: ‘Oh, I’d adore to win an Oscar.I care about all that stuff. I’d like to be a lord, a sir, have the Oscar: all of it.’

The reckoning of MeToo was long overdue: ‘For years men have been very entitled in the way they think of and behave towards women, and I think it’s great that it has been addressed. Of course, now every man is just terrified of women, so that has dealt with that… Still, some women have been terrified of men forever, so…’

On the Sussexes: ‘I have to say, Meghan’s a better actress than I thought she was,’ he says. But as for the book, ‘It’s made me change my view. I was angry before, and now I just feel very sad – sad for Harry. I felt so sympathetic towards him for years and I still do now. Honestly! As someone who has put his foot in it quite a bit, I feel particularly bad for him about the Taliban thing. That changed everything and loses him the one group that still loved him. I think he’s deranged. Although, of course, nobody is giving him good advice.’ As for what will happen to the Sussexes now, all Everett will say is: ‘Really, it’s been the most disastrous bumping of privates since Cleopatra and Caesar.’

On Harry’s story, in ‘Spare’, about losing his virginity in a field as a teenager: ‘By the way, I know who the woman he lost his virginity to is. And it wasn’t behind a pub. And it wasn’t in this country.’ So Harry deliberately set the whole scene elsewhere? Everett gives me a Cheshire-cat smile. Who is she? ‘I’m just putting it out there that I know.’ Because he knows the woman? ‘Yeah.’

[From The Telegraph]

Rupert’s thing about Harry’s first time has gotten the most headlines, but really, the comments before that should be the headline. I trust Harry to know who was his first and where, although in Spare, he didn’t really treat that moment in his life like it was particularly significant (and yes, I’ve seen the current other story, I’ll cover that separately tomorrow and please don’t threadjack). I would guess that Rupert probably knows someone who slept with Harry, but she wasn’t his first. As for the other comments… Rupert is such a nasty old bitch, my god. “I think he’s deranged. Although, of course, nobody is giving him good advice” – what advice should he be taking, according to Rupert? “Go back to the abusive cycle of your cold and distant family, abandon your loving wife and two children?” Probably. This feels threatening too: “Really, it’s been the most disastrous bumping of privates since Cleopatra and Caesar.” Caesar was assassinated. Marc Anthony had to step in and move Cleopatra and her son out of Rome so they would not be assassinated as well. It’s an extremely disturbing reference.

Hoping for honors from Charles perhaps

    • esline mills says:

Tessa, my thought exactly, and what’s the odds he too is a friend of Camilla.

    • aquarius64 says:

I was thinking the same thing. When the BRF are deploying actors as surrogates like this, they know the monarchy’s reputation has taken a massive international hit. They used surrogates to damage Meghan for six years (lest effective now). Welcome to karma Windsors.

    • AnnaKist says:

Yes, I thought that too. And I would add that Everett would also advise Harry to just shut up and stop upsetting his Royal friends. What a twat.

    • B says:

He admits he wants all the accolades. An Oscar, Lordship etc. So he sticks to the party line but I don’t think he’s lying.

I really enjoyed him in My Best Friend’s Wedding and the Importance of Being Earnest. I was a fan and would watch movies he was in so I remember distinctly how shocked and disappointed I was when 7-10ish years ago he said in an interview that he found Beyonce to be deeply unattractive due to her thick thighs. He discounted her beauty and success because of her thighs. He also made other mysognoir comments in that interview and I stopped watching his movies after that.

I genuinely believe he and all those people who would never call themselves racists all think like this. They pity Harry and believe he’s led around by untrustworthy Meghan.

      • SussexFan says:

I like him in the Wilde films, but his racism–before and beyond Beyonce–and classism woke me up. Even when younger, he had that look of dissipation that reminded me of a progressively cruel ex-boyfriend. Everett must run his mouth about things he knows diddly squat about, as soon as he gets a mic. He loves hearing his own voice, and really does not care, imho. He doesn’t know anything about Harry or Meghan. Love isn’t a fake out. Only whores are supposed to do that, right? I forget where I read that he and another British actress discussed black actors, and how they could do well without these interlopers. Probably Vanity Fair. Fck him.

      • Carol says:

He’s got a right, it’s not like he’s attracted to ANY women’s “thighs”, after all, 😂

    • Kimberly says:

Has been trying to stay relevant. Shame, I used to like him.

      • BothSidesNow says:

Me too. Rupert is apparently still sticking his foot in his mouth with these comments.

Thank you Rupert for telling us again that you are a racist pig.

    • Ginni says:

Who is this guy and why he has an opinion on the Sussexes, go back to your corner and have several seats.

      • Lux says:

He’s a guy who peaked in the late 90s, lost parts and got typecast because he was one of the first and only openly gay actors, became unrecognizable by doing some really unfortunate things to his face, and basically lost relevance. Now he’s known for making comments like this.

  2. equality says:

I see he’s campaigning for the honors and titles. “Now every man is just terrified of women”? What a moron.

    • Brassy Rebel says:

He came right out and said he wants to be “a lord, a sir”. That wouldn’t happen if he sounded the least bit sympathetic to H&M. And ” disastrous bumping of privates”? Would he dare speak so disrespectfully of Charles’ and Camilla’s relationship? What a gross character.

    • Amy Bee says:

Now that he’s criticised Harry and Meghan, he’ll probably get it.

  3. Snuffles says:

The British media will look for anyone and everyone to talk shit about Harry and Meghan. And if they are not volunteering, they will try to bait them into saying something. Then if it isn’t negative or negative enough, they will twist whatever is said, take it out of context and create a salacious, completely misleading headline.

ETA: Also, he sounded completely drunk in the interview. Just babbling away to anyone who is willing to listen to him.

    • Midnight@theOasis says:

It’s downright pathological. H&M are an ocean and continent away minding their damn business. The obsession to constantly stalk, talk about, write about the Sussexes is beyond crazy.

    • Mary Pester says:

Snuffles, drunk is what he is most of the time. Funny that he DOESN’T KNOW Harry and Megan, funny that he never spent ANY time with Harry when Harry was growing up. And even more funny is that he doesn’t think people will not see this is all just Palace sychophants like Jim and Helen Bonham Carter and JoAnna Lumley, singing to the Palace song sheet because of “Spare” and it’s massive sales figures. The only difference is, HE doesn’t have a Palace given gong YET, but watch this space

    • BeanieBean says:

It seems every interview with a British celebrity, author, athlete, newsreader, whomever, is going to include a question about Harry & Meghan. And they’ll only print the answer if it’s negative.
…which Snuffles said just above more elegantly. 😉

  4. girl_ninja says:

Someone who constantly complain and dissing people will always do so. And someone who’s done what he’s done to his face can’t be trusted can they? Maybe with what he’s done to his face he feels a particular kinship with Katy.

    • Lady D says:

He was so good looking at one time. As they say, you get the face you deserve.

      • HamsterJam says:

“As they say, you get the face you deserve” Gawd I hate that mindless platitude, it only exists to ease delicate minds that have as yet to be sullied by a single logical thought.

      • Sass says:

@hamsterjam I conversely find it hilarious. May your face match your shit attitude 🥰

      • SomeChick says:

he looks like he could play Sean Penn in a lifetime biopic.

      • SourcesclosetoKate says:

Meh, in his prime he looked like a Disney villain, his face is too long and his smile is smug. Maybe he’s attractive to the british

    • BeanieBean says:

I scrolled back up. What a deep frown he has! That’s way beyond RBF.

      • North of Boston says:

Hamsterdam, I think of that phrase sometimes when I’m with people I know who are the smartest, most deep thinking and kindest people I know. They have the loveliest faces even though they are in their 70s 80s 90s and wrinkly (and one has a bit of a misshapen cheek, jaw on one side due to life) and have seen some ish and been through some ish.

    • Carol says:

Yes, it would help both their beleaguered families if they’d stop “dissing and taking trash” about them. But it’s too late now, anyway. He’s out, and she’ll never be in, anywhere, sorry.
I’m shocked to learn that Evertt hasn’t been knighted before, but he’s smart, and I doubt actually is a monarchist, in the first place, I doubt he’d even take one if he could. He knows he’s just a Californian celebrity, but unlike the two ne’er do wells, at least he has a great skill, and he’s always been a heartthrob for men and women alike! Yes, he’s aged, don’t get all ageist now, no racism, no ageism, right? The thought of Rupert Everett needing ANYTHING from a bored Californian house husband IS a bit laughable, now, isn’t it? If it were Elizabeth, maybe, doubtfully, but the Spare and his briefcase model, with all their pathologies?
      Please, lol!

  5. Boxy Lady says:

Well, he did say he wants a title. Trashing Harry just eases that path, doesn’t it?

  6. Amy Bee says:

    Whatever. Rupert’s an attention seeker.

  7. Tessa says:

    Who gives Rupert bad advice

    • SURE says:

His botched cosmetic “surgery” would indicate he hasn’t been getting good advice himself. Just another bitter b!tch projecting his misery onto H&M whilst desperately hoping to grab some publicity.

  8. SussexWatcher says:

The power of the Sussexes! Clearly everyone being interviewed in Britain must be asked about them to garner attention and get clicks. Would anyone care what a celebrity, charity head, or politician has to say if they’re not bashing Harry and Meghan?

Harry really nailed it when he said that whole salty isle thinks they became Harry’s parent after Diana died. Why else would they all have such a sense of ownership over him and his decisions or feel that Harry owes them to live in England and be the forever third wheel to his brother. It’s sick. They don’t talk about any other royals that way.

Rupert’s comments are disgusting – no surprise – and he gives the game away by admitting he’d like to be a lord. Is he hinting to King Chuckles that he’ll keep talking trash about the Sussexes in exchange for a shiny new title? Clearly.

    • Christine says:

Agreed, SussexWatcher. Nothing drives the point home more than an actor from the 90s publicly arguing that Harry is not telling the truth about losing his own virginity, because he says so. These people actually think they own Harry’s life story more than Harry himself.

I have a whole new level of sympathy for Harry, since Spare. The reactions have made it abundantly clear that no one on that island thinks his life belongs to anything or anyone but England.

  9. Nixie says:

Rupert has been a bitter botched bitch for ages now. His thoughts on anything are largely irrelevant. I’m pleased to see he has the face he deserves.

    • C-Shell says:

Every bit of this, but my favorite part is “bitter botched bitch!” I adore alliteration, especially when it hits the nail squarely on the head.

      • kirk says:

BBB! 💯 😂 – Nixie that is hilarious; won’t be able to walk into Bed Bath & Beyond without thinking of your comment!

  10. Eurydice says:

Huh, I didn’t know he was still alive.

    • TigerMcQueen says:

Quite honestly, I don’t even know who he is, so you’re one up on me.

      • Chaine says:

He played the gbff of Julia Roberts’ character in a rom com like thirty years ago and I don’t know what he has done since other than whine.

      • Eurydice says:

I remember him from various Oscar Wilde productions. But, from what I’ve read, he’s a patron of The British Monarchists Society, which exists to support the royal family.

  11. Heather says:

He’s the same age as Jeremy Clarkson. They can go get a little group together to talk all the shit they want about H&M. Insert eye roll. Why are 63 year old men so obsessed with them? Oh wait…..I get it now. It’s not them they’re obsessed with. It’s the fact that they could never get someone as beautiful and classy as M to even breathe in their direction. And also, racism.

    • Snuffles says:

I legit thought Jeremy Clarkson was in his 70s. And a rough 70s at that.

    • CrazyHeCallsMe says:

Wait. Jeremy Clarkson is only 63? I thought he was at least late 70’s, early 80’s. Jeez. What a hard life he’s led and it shows on his face.

  12. Seraphina says:

What a douche – who cares if he knows whom Harry lost his virginity to. Lastly, he is trash as well – calling someone out as deranged when all he is trying to do is get his truth out there in his voice.
Post script – I don’t think he is a great actor so I really don’t see an Oscar out there for him. Keep hoping there bud.

    • Brassy Rebel says:

And why would he know more about who Harry lost his virginity to than Harry? Is he claiming he was there? Now the headlines are, “Harry lied about how he lost his virginity!” Smh.

    • Jan says:

Someone in Hollywood would’ve to offer him a JOB, he is just a washed up bitter hag.
This is the most publicly he has gotten in decades, and he will fade back into the woodwork by Tuesday, this week.

  13. Snuffles says:

I’d argue that not only is Harry getting good advice, he actually listens and acts upon it, unlike the royal family.

We all say that the royals live in a bubble or an echo chamber. But, it’s an echo chamber made of lead impervious to any other thoughts but their own. And it’s just getting worse.

    • Snuffles: Your comment is on point. Could not have said it better.

    • Polo says:

Meghan even said they have a team for this. I do think they are listening to their people but I also think Harry wanted to tell his story, the truth, and didn’t care if he got bad press from it. Bad press will happen when you are threatening an industry who profits from your existence
      .
A lot of people in the public space don’t operate this way. To them it’s fight for good press any way possible so it must be jarring to come upon Harry lol.
Since the books come out I’ve seen more articles/people coming to understand Harry’s point of view.

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ Polo, and those are the ones that the RR’s are trying to drown out with by bring this has-been onto the front pages.

Unless Rupert was there to see who Harry lost his virginity to he needs to STFU and sit down.

      • Polo says:

@BOTHSIDESNOW Yup they are! Thank goodness for Grammy weekend cause if this was a slow news day this story would probably be taking off everywhere. There’s too much going on in celeb news/pics so this lady will be just another blip in the radar.

There’s strikes tom in the UK so everyone will have moved on by then on the island. They’re really tryin it for fake outrage but it’s sputtering.

  14. Miranda says:

Do interviewers just question every goddamn British celebrity about Harry and Meghan now? And why do virtually all of them share the same negative opinion? I refuse to believe that they’re genuinely scandalized that Harry would dare to criticize his family or the institution. Are they all angling for honors? Are they all really THAT nauseatingly reverent towards the monarchy? Do they all have royal-esque deals with the BM that they’re eager to keep secret? It’s just f–king bizarre at this point.

    • Lady D says:

It’s my belief that they really are that “nauseatingly reverent”.” It’s all they know because it’s drilled into them from birth that they are less than, and they will prove it by bowing and acquiescing to the royals for life.

    • High says:

I said yesterday that there’s a lot of Hollywood’s British celebs that are royalists. Some more vocal than others who just gossip amongst themselves. That’s exactly why I love that Harry and Meghan were at Ellen’s vow renewal and have very high power celebs supporting them..
It’s also why people keep trying to push that they are constantly snubbed when in reality they are just chillin.

They have real people, real enemy’s who want to see them fail in that industry and that’s not being negative.
But despite all that they have succeeded and are really hitting their stride.
They don’t need universal love to succeed in America and Harry’s made enough money from his book to never work again.
Going forward I hope Harry is truly able to healthily let go of his family and thrive without the “royal drama.”

Because in a way he’s sacrificing himself, his popularity for their benefit and they are just using him to justify their awful behavior without any changes.

    • Nedsdag says:

And when you mean any British celebrity, I mean, ANY British celebrity. On GBNews, they interviewed the two bald brothers from that One Hit Wonder group Right Said Fred and even THEY had an opinion (albeit anti-Harry and Meghan) on them.

Who’s next? Has Simon Cowell spoken? How about Boy George? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

  15. Jais says:

Ew. He comes off as gross and deeply unpleasant. Not sure he’s the arbiter of what is or isn’t deranged.

    • Nev says:

      WORD.

      And the word is unpleasant.

    • Agreatreckoning says:

Right @Jais. Rupert Everett once sent a letter to someone who criticized one of his performances. The letter was enclosed with his pubic hairs. Give the guy an OBE!

  16. Solidgold says:

It is fascinating how obsessed people are with Harry. The ownership and possessiveness is beyond creepy.

Rupert wants a title so expect him to trash Harry and particularly Meghan every chance he gets.

  17. Over it says:

Salty dried up cracker at their favorite sport. Attack Harry and Meghan to gain some clout . Stay mad you salty B .

  18. blue says:

Rupert has not aged well. He’s only 63? Looks 20 years older.

    • Seraphina says:

I guess that is why he said he would play 80 or 90 year old parts.

    • Lorelei says:

Colin Firth is 62 but looks a good decade younger than this guy.

    • Agreatreckoning says:

Decades of heroin and cocaine abuse are not known as anti-aging products. He’s admitted all that along with being a rent-boy. Rupert needs a BetterUp coupon.

Colin is still hot. Rupert is not.

  19. Harla A Brazen Hussy says:

I used to enjoy Rupert in various movies but he’s been giving off bitter hag vibes for several years now.

    • Liz Version 700 says:

Same. He was a good actor until he wrecked his face, but now his bitter mouth is even worse than before. I’m sure H&M won’t give the washed out retired actor with the unfortunate face one moment of their energy.

  20. Treefrog says:

I had never heard of the guy so pulled up his Wikipedia page. First line under political views in the personal life subsection: “Everett is a patron of the British Monarchists Society and Foundation.”

The rest is just as terrible: against gay marriage, against trans kids rights, etc. Seems par for the course for monarchists though.

    • Jan says:

      A self hating homosexual.

      • Christine says:

I really get internalized homophobia, when you have grown up in a world where no one can possibly be gay, and a contributing member of society, but this is Rupert Everett. He made being gay okay for a lot of people. Granted, not other gay people, since this is where the whole gay BFF shit came from, but acres of people were falling all over themselves to embrace having gay friends after My Best Friend’s Wedding.

Decades on, and he’s stumped by a man in love with his wife.

    • Cessily says:

I don’t know who he is, I don’t ever recall seeing him in any movies so if I have he doesn’t leave a lasting impression and is forgettable.
Your background search explains his comments. He is not someone I would ever believe or support. It takes an extreme arrogance to tell anyone that they don’t know when and to whom they lost their virginity. He is probably just another Camilla~Judi Dench~Jeremy Clarkston~Pierce Morgan suck up and mouth piece. These horrible people like to make others believe that they know more about the lives of the Sussex’s than the Sussex’s themselves it is disgusting and extremely disturbing that they are only relevant for being nasty bitter Brit’s who are deluded in thinking they have any class whatsoever.

  21. RoyalBlue says:

So UK media interviews people who will be sure to speak ill of the Sussexes. i don’t know any other country that repeatedly targets individuals and continues to perform a public lynching without any pushback. Their actions are criminal.

    • Patricia says:

He is just another one of the old “has beens”. Most of these people were once celebrities, good or bad, but now they’re in their 60’s, 70’s, 80’s or older and they’re steeped in the royalist tradition. Relevant they aren’t so any attention, good or bad, is their goal. What sad little souls they are. It has been very disturbing to see older actors that I used to greatly admire coming out as judgemental old fools. They’re fitting very snuggly into the Chuck and Camilla Club. I’m older than death but I would be dam**d if would support people who are treating the ” chubbly” like the Roman Emperors. When times are bad, and the people are angry, give them bread and circuses. The certainly have enough old clowns to go around for that.Did you hear me Rupert?

  22. Talie says:

I mean, he blatantly says he wants a title, so it’s all out there.

As for the virginity thing – I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if a younger, naughtier Harry gave that line about it being his first time to a lot of women. It’s hard to resist having a party story saying you took a prince’s virginity. And I’m sure he was well aware of that.

    • Kingston says:

Um……Harry mentions, in less than a paragraph, in his very own Memoir, the way in which he had his first sexual experience with a woman.

HE is the one telling his story…..not the other way around where a bunch of women come crawling out of the woodwork, each one saying Harry told her she was his first. I mean….how likely is that?

      • Mary Pester says:

Kingston, as likely as the British rags are to print each and every one, because we all know they will. Harry and Megan sell papers and clicks, unlike the mediocre Royals in the UK

  23. Moxylady says:

When he was in the madness of king George – I was beyond obsessed. He was beautiful.
And then he opened his mouth. And he was no longer attractive with all the bitterness and shit he spewed.
And he has been a bitter salty POS ever since.
Men can’t get over not being able to control Meghan. And can’t get over Harry leaving “power”.

  24. HeyKay says:

Rupert has always been a gossipy, snippy, snob. Even at the height of his looks and success in his film career he was bitchy and snotty to other celebs. Basically always talks as if he is the smartest one in the room.

His acting career, IMO, has slowed way down so he is doing whatever interviews he can, saying whatever to get some attention.

    • H says:

I too loved Rupert’s acting back in the day, then he did that Madonna movie and opened his mouth in interviews… I think he thought he was going to be the next Big Thing, and when it didn’t happen he became a Bitter Betty

  25. [insert_catchy_name] says:

To be honest, after reading the book I don’t think anyone was giving Harry good advice. Charles’ seemed to be “don’t read the papers”.

And even now I am not sure how much advice he is being given- I feel Harry just decided he was going to do what he wanted to do, and found people to help make it a reality.

  26. Jazz Hands says:

It’s pathetic the lengths some people will go to try to raise their own profiles at the expense of others.

  27. DouchesOfCambridge says:

Rupert Everett is a moron. So now recollection may vary on Harry’s first time?

    • Mary Pester says:

Douchessofcambridge, Rupert is a big fat liar, I was Harry’s first, so was my sister and best friend and my aunty and the local hairdresser and the lollipop lady at the school 🤣🤣🤣THAT’S as believable as this nasty, decrepit old actor has been

  28. JMoney says:

Bashing the Sussexes by British celebs will be common. Most British celebs who may be sympathetic will avoid the topic altogether for fear of retribution by the British media but also they may want a title as well and that means being on good terms with the monarchy.

After Spare came out I saw many blue checks both British and American who were once clearly Sussex supporters become silent. While they may be sympathetic toward the Sussexes, who is going to sacrifice their peace and open themselves up to trolls and theirs of the British media for ppl they don’t know?
Lastly, H did put his foot in it coming out publicly saying his family isn’t racist and that he loves Lady Hussey and supports The Monarchy. That did dissuade ppl (esp famous ones) so yes I do think their pool of public support esp among British celebs is smaller but it’s to be expected.

    • Zoro says:

Yeah I had no idea who this was and don’t really care what he says. It is creepy for an old man to be talking bout how he knows a 16yr old lost their virginity. Yikes! And how would you know more about it than the person himself?

I do somewhat agree that Harry’s put his foot in his mouth a bit. I still saw lots of British blue ticks supporting him though. And overall I think the book was necessary considering the lies. It’s reset the royal landscape a bit.

But if he wants continued success in the industry I hope he’s listening now. I feel like his clear disdain for the media could be done differently because ultimately he will need them for their future projects and Meghan always seems to be the one that pays the price.
They’ve said this was the last look back project and I believe them..I hope moving forward it will be more joyful and fun projects.

I hate that everything surrounding them is constant negativity and hate when there’s so much good. Even on fan pages it’s hard to find joy about Harry and Meghan because people are constantly highlighting the negativity.

      • Julia says:

He doesn’t have disdain for all media just tabloids and journalists that peddle lies and misinformation. He has donated to grassroots media organisations in the UK, US and Ukraine. He did a feature with people magazine and interviews on US and UK tv for Spare as well his interview in the Telegraph. He knows how to use the media to get publicity for his projects. However, we shouldn’t expect him to start working with the Royal Rota anytime soon. Or with the UK tabloids or Murdoch media nor should he imo.

    • Kel says:

I feel like there’s a time when every celeb draws hate from fans or magazines before it transitions. I remember when Beyoncé used to get so much hate and now she’s untouchable.
I hate to loop in the Kardashians but she used to be made fun of constantly on late night tv..other celebs and now she’s invited everywhere and a billionaire.

I think the difference with Harry and Meghan is that they are just trying to tell their story after being lied about for so long so the hate feels unjustified especially as a fan.

But I just keep remembering that as Geraldo R said it’s making them sympathetic figures who people will fight to support. It’s doing the opposite of what some of these haters want.

I do think a lot of people on social media are just tired. Everything feels repetitive and we now have the full story. Plus Harry’s book sold millions so he won…There’s other more consequential things happening in the UK and even the US that need focus and addressing.

  29. Mary Pester says:

Maybe we should ALL start bombarding the British press with letters. Maybe we should all point out that we can see right through the hate campaign and continual trolling of Harry and Megan since they left the UK YEARS ago. Maybe we should all ask them why THEY keep asking people who have ZERO interaction with Harry and Megan, what they think of Harry and Megan. If anyone wants it, I have the email address for the Daily Mirror, if enough of us write in they have to notice and reply

  30. TIFFANY says:

The Sussexes have plenty of people to make sure that will never happen.

They really out here thinking Meghan was not connected before dating Harry, still.

  31. mageboomsun says:

He has also made racist comments about Beyonce and her looks!!! ( Basically the body type a lot of Black women have) He was dragged for it haven’t heard from him since. He uses these hateful comments to get attention. I would bet he is not a Suit watcher so his snippy comment on Meghan’s acting skills is to imply she doesn’t love Harry and is acting for 6 years in private with him. These people have passed racist and delusional to downright evil.

  32. TheOriginalMia says:

He definitely has the face he deserves. Is it a flex for old British dudes to look unkempt with their stubble and blood shot eyes? I mean…my goodness, have some pride about yourselves before opening your mouth and showing folks that the outside matches the inside: Rotten to the core.

  33. Flying fish says:

    Rupert’s face reflects his insides!

  34. F says:

F off Rupert Everett, then. Thanks, Rupert, for letting us know who you are: sycophantic, racist, toxic, bigoted, vacuous, thirsty, and desperately unattractive.

    • kelleybelle says:

Despite all the surgery. I wonder how much media paid him to say this. Harry has one success after the other and he’s getting bad advice? On what? From whom? It doesn’t even make sense. He’s on a level with Angela Levin.

  35. Well Wisher says:

    Tosh.

There is too much envy towards the Sussexes’ strong emotional connection and jealousy of their close bond ever present in Prince Harry’s place of birth.

‘Misery loves company’ is so true.

  36. Alexandria says:

These Windsor supporters get the Windsor faces they deserve.

  37. swirlmamad says:

Nobody has checked for this bitter dried up hag since My Best Friend’s Wedding. Boy, bye. 🙄

  38. QuiteContrary says:

    Old and bitter? Check.
    White and affluent? Check.
Most of the H&M haters have those characteristics in common.

The world is changing and they’re mad about it. They can stay mad.

  39. L4Frimaire says:

This guy is basically doing the same nasty thing that Clarkson is doing, while trying, and failing, to sound witty and glib about it. Reducing Harry and Meghan to him being under her sexual spell, just private parts. It’s a disgusting refrain that is both racist and sexist. Caesar and Cleopatra? Really. Harry is the emperor of the UK now under the spell of the African queen. What is wrong with these bitter people? This is why they’re combing this book for trivialities and dragging up people Harry never named, because they can’t refute any of the major points in it. Who is this guy and what exactly is he supposed to be doing? Also if Harry is getting such bad advice, what would this guy have to offer in his infinite shopworn wisdom? They never seem to have an answer other than pretend the last six years of your life never happened. No one needs advice from random strangers who don’t care about you and ignore and disrespect the ones you love.

  40. Lorelei says:

He’ll probably be invited over to Camilla’s for G&Ts soon. They seem like they’d get along well.

  41. TheWigletOfWails says:

Oh how have the mighty have fallen. The torygraph is no longer pretending to be a respectable paper because of Prince Harry.

  42. Polo says:

Sometimes I just want Harry and Meghan out here flaunting their wealth, love and connections to really make these people seethe and drown in jealousy.
But I know that’s not how the Sussexes operate.
The nerve of him to think the military has tuned against him and he’s lost their support. These people really believe what the British media sells them. The delusion is strong wow.
Watch and see the Invictus Games Sept 2023 where they’ll be proven wrong again.

  43. Saschafrom76 says:

He wants his white supremacy death cult medal. At this point die hard Royalists are Trumpers I’ve said it for years and it’s obviously true.

  44. Emily_C says:

A lot of people are super dismissive of romantic love these days. This attitude, prevalent in Hollywood, that’s it’s all some transient sexual thing, and that furthermore sex has no emotional component, is despicable. The scorn toward Meghan and Harry’s true, deep romantic and erotic love is particularly gross and telling. They are in love, full partners in life, married with two children. These creeps who pretend it’s all about banging — well, it’s misogyny, it’s racism, it’s misogynoir, it’s classism, anti-Americanism, etc. But it’s also obviously very severe jealousy.

    • TheWigletOfWails says:

@emily_c the aristocratic set doesn’t marry for love. They marry to fulfill societal obligations and for public approval. They also don’t see their partners as equals. That’s why what Harry and Meghan have is so foreign to them, and it’s no wonder they’re all unhappy on salt isle.

  45. SenseOfTheAbsurd says:

So, this is the same Rupert Everett who featured in a Daily Mail story about how his ‘bum was bleeding’ after a horse-riding session with Charles and Camilla? Although, it said in the text that it was a ‘hose-riding session’. I have a screenshot, but not sure which is the typo. Just another irrelevance crawling up the arse of the royals.

  46. HeyKay says:

    These comments are so correct.
I remember when Rupert Everett first hit it big, he was supposed to be “The next big thing” and it never happened for him.
He was very handsome, tall, gave “outrageous” comments constantly, shocking and bitchy interviews was his style for years.
He spoke openly about being gay, he said he was a “rent boy” for a time before he took up acting. Y or N, he certainly got attention for that comment.
He was in several movies for a period, did stage also, I think.

But, in the last 5-10 years, no idea what he’s done. I hope he saved his money because his high earning days are behind him. I don’t remember what happened with him and Madonna, but something did. Almost as if, once she dropped him his career tanked.
And he’s openly gay. Why should his opinion about Beyonce or any womans attractiveness matter one bit?

Yes, I can see RE is sucking up to King Tampon and The Firm. As if he’d earn a Title for anything he has done in acting. Medium level talent at best.
He was beautiful at his peak, tho.

  47. J.Ferber says:

So disappointed in Rupert for saying Harry is “deranged.” As a gay man, he will NEVER really be accepted by the RF, though he would be accepted and loved by the non-discriminatory Sussexes if the opportunity arose for him. He is so WRONG and I’ve caped for him for DECADES.

  48. TheVolvesSeidr says:

Why do I think I saw a blurb (somewhere? Here?) stating Elizabeth Hurley was the older woman? Her pic by the blurb and all. Anyone else see/hear about that? I’m sure Rupert knew her then, they were in the same circles?

    • HeyKay says:

Elizabeth Hurley was all over SM when the Harry loses his virginity story was very public.
She was at some public charity event, dressed in a beautiful gown walking with her adult son into the event and some press person asked her point blank “Are you older woman?”

Liz handled it wonderfully. Big smile, laughing, shaking her head. “No. Not me. Not Guilty.”

  49. kirk says:

    Marc Antony (Marcus Antonius).
    NOT Marc Anthony.

As for getting “good advice”, I advise Everett to familiarize himself with the actual Taliban, e.g. read “Taliban” by Ahmed Rashid, rather than regurgitate British media talking points siding with the Taliban to trash Harry.

  50. Incognito08 says:

Shut up Rupert! I find it icky that this has-been is clout chasing to revive his lackluster career and honors bestowed by the BRF. I hope that Hollywood continues to ignore his messy behind!

  51. Gm says:

I don’t know how all of this with Harry and M will turn out. But I think the alternative, living with racism, as a put upon second best, always begging for money from your big brother, he had to try something else. At worst it may be rich but not really wealthy, maybe they will end up without much of a philanthropic foundation, but to me still better then staying in England. At least they have “freedom.”

  52. Celebs are Ghouls! says:

That “Cesar” comment also implies Meghan literally snuck herself into Harry’s life for political gains.

  53. Mica says:

What does he mean by the one group that liked him? Is he talking minorities or military, either way that’s a lie. I will say this it seems Britain isn’t anything but actors. Rupert was a good actor but he ruined it being nasty. It wasn’t the gay thing it was the cattiness. He doesn’t want to admit that.

  54. Okay says:

This trash trying to get clout from H&M proves to me that H&M made all the right moves. I saw the same with Johnny Depp and the trail of people coming out of nowhere to get attention when Johnny was fighting for his life. Never would I have thought that the same people that were so heartbroken over seeing H walk behind his mothers coffin to find out how horrible and abusive the rest of the family was to him and tell him to shut up and that he is deranged and M is evil because they fell in love. They do not see H as human only as someone that can take apart because they have such miserable and sad lives. I’m glad they are keeping quiet because I feel they will only make power moves when we hear about them from here on. LOL I hope they never mention the BRF ever in public again and keep on winning. They had their chance to make a mends and time has past. All Charles can think about is his incandescent son leaking stories, his moronic DIL and the chubbly. They played themselves.

  55. SourcesclosetoKate says:

Funny how these people don’t just profess their love for the monarchy, I wonder why…maybe because that would get people riled up and hating on the royal family instead of harry. And what a pathetic man to attack Meghan, did they ever wonder what Harry was getting from Meghan that he wasn’t getting from the monarchy who’s got all the answers.

  56. Mel says:

His petty asshattery ruined his career a l g time ago and he’s been bitter ever since. This won’t make anyone hire you Boo but proceed…..

  57. Patricia says:

Excuse me? Rupert who? I thought he had gone to glory but maybe he always looks like that. Sad little puppy.

  58. blunt talker says:

That douchebag needs to stuff it-he evidently has been in Harry’s pockets for his entire 63 years watching and observing-he has been with Harry 24/7 all of his 38 years-he looks like he has had a stroke in the face-what Harry and Meghan do in their bedroom is entirely their business and I don’t care about that-I do care about their safety, smears against them, and the UK media trying to slam them every chance they get-Harry has definitely exposed the UK media and the invisible contract with the royal family-so many people after reading Spare-they say they now know what an invisible contract is-people are looking harder what is printed in the UK-today I saw on CNN this morning-England is being referred to as little England-the people there will suffer a lot until the end of this year-the Tories are still pouting the same old lines and causing England to suffer unnecessarily-every industrilized country will have a better yearly outcome including Russia than the England-their voice has weakened greatly on the public stage-very sad to see this but maybe King Charles needs to rethink all the big grand plans for his coronation.

  59. blunt talker says:

ps-I don’t know what British singer or actor said this-they love living and working in America-your ideas can flourish here-in the UK-you can only have ideas if you come from a certain class of people. this Everett dude comes from this aristocratic class.
