Chris Brown says it’s our fault he doesn’t seem sorry

34998PCN_Brown

Chris Brown says he really is sorry for beating the sh*t out of ex-girlfriend Rihanna, and if we don’t get that, it’s because we’re misinterpreting his behavior. Maybe his posture isn’t erect enough. Maybe he’s fiddling. Maybe he hears a noise and glances over his shoulder. But it’s just because we’re not smart enough to disregard that stuff. It has nothing to do with things Brown has said or done. Like spending $300,000 on a custom-made diamond “OOPS!” pendant that he had made for Diddy’s 4th of July party. Or writing on his Facebook page “You’ll begin to see her true colors. Believe it!” Or releasing nude photos of Rihanna (of course denied). Why would any of those things make us think he’s not sorry? Clearly it’s just because we’re all too dumb and are just paying attention to his body language. It’s certainly not the things he’s said.

As he continues to apologize publicly for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna, Chris Brown says he doesn’t know why people have a hard time believing that he is remorseful.

“The steps that I’ve taken to show that I’m sorry probably have been perceived wrong,” Brown, 20, says in an interview on The Wendy Williams Show Friday (check your local listings).”Certain things when I’m doing certain interviews and how my posture is to how I’m acting.

“At the end of the day, I’m definitely remorseful and it’s not something that I take lightly or think that it’s like under the rug,” he goes on. “I really think it’s something that is a serious matter and I’m learning from it.”

The New York Post reports that Brown still can’t live down the attack.

The paper posts a video of a woman getting within a few feet of him Wednesday in NYC and screaming: “[bleep]ing beater!” and “I hope someone beats the [bleep]ing [bleep] out of you!”

Brown just smiles and walks past her.

[From Us Weekly]

Here’s the video of that woman screaming at Chris Brown that Us mentions. Apparently we’re supposed to believe he’s all better because he just smiled and walked past her. There are a hundred people around the Times Square Footaction store. What else is he going to do? Of course he managed to smile and just walk past her. I’m not giving him any credit for that. But I freaking love that lady. New Yorkers are the best.

Chris, we think you’re a douche because of your behavior. Because of the things you say and the things you do. No one is misinterpreting anything. We’re just not seeing the golden angel version of you that your narcissism sees. You’re the one who’s misinterpreting. Everyone else is not the problem. Your inability to see why your actions are perceived the way they are makes it impossible for you to change. I understand that’s probably frustrating. Checking yourself into some kind of locked down facility might be a good route to go. Get some help. Or learn to stop talking.

it funny, i use to think he had a baby face. now all i see is evil. my gay friend still loveeees him. he wants to “get bitch smacked” by him. ew

  2. K McFarlane says:

Something is severely screwed when Kanye West goes into hiding (and is the butt of teasing at the CMAs) and yet everyone lets Chris Brown just go about his business as if nothing happened. I mean, there’s no comparison between what they did here. Being a dick when someone is getting an award vs viciously and repeatedly beating your girlfriend.

Chris Brown’s given half-baked apologies, acted like he doesn’t know what he did wrong and now thinks he can just move on and forget it. Ugh.

  3. OXA says:

So did I get this right, its my fault he is lower than scrotum sweat.

  4. arstyfartsy says:

I wish people would just STFU about Chris Brown, Im so sick of hearing it. He beat her ass. End of story. He apologized. She went on TV and said someday she might be with him again, so what does that tell you.
They have run this story in the ground, find someone new to talk about, He isnt the first guy or celebrity to hit a girl and he wont be the last.
You people on here just nag nag nag sh*t to death.

  5. Westender says:

Chris Brown should be grateful he is not in prison right now.

  6. Mimi says:

JayBird i have i new grow respect for u VERY WELL SPOKEN

  7. Firestarter says:

I am sick of this dirty little creep boo-hooing about how unfair all of this is to him.

Maybe he should have thought about all of this BEFORE he beat the crap out of someone he professed to love. I cannot wait until he is off the radar completely.

  8. vlad469 says:

I think the Kanye/Brown comparison isn’t necessarily fair. Rhianna was in a relationship, had been smacked around before, and was there of her own free will, even continuing to stay after.

Nobody likes to be the one to say it, but she is at least partially at fault for the severity of the beating that she received. She put herself in harms way. Taylor was just picking up an award, and Kanye intervened.

  9. n says:

what kind of drugs is he taking?

they say drugs harden a person.
they also make you self-centered and paranoid — depending on the drug.

Chris Brown seems to fit into these categories PLUS he seems to lack brain cells. will someone plz give this Bozo a drug test? he needs one badly.

  10. Obvious says:

he is in the land of denial. Honestly there is only one thing worse than Chris Brown. And that’s his fans to defend and sanction his actions. While i understand he is extremely sorry that it went public and he was charged (he is sorry he was caught not that he did it), the crap that pass as his fans have taught him that it’s ok. They continue to support him so he will never get the help he needs.

lets get rid of his scumbag fans, and then he too will disappear.

  11. Vermithrax says:

Great article. They shouldn’t have bleeped her words out.

The situation is going to be ugly for a long, long time. He should disappear for said amount of time and then see how things go.

  12. bella says:

“n” – he’s on the same thing Jon Gosselin is on!

  13. mockey says:

frankly i really despise chris, but that woman was annoying

  14. Beth says:

How dumb is he? When nobody is believing your apologies clearly you are doing something wrong.

  15. Who Cares says:

This stupid ass needs to go to prison and be Bubba’s buttbitch!

After a couple years of that, I might be able to feel a little sorry for him.

  16. lolo says:

    I’m with you Firestarter.

What really made me mad–was watching him play basketball and play around on his toys like nothing happened a few days later. Meanwhile, Rihanna was still in seclusion because of all her bruises. Sickening.

  17. Sarah says:

Exactly when does this guy fade into oblivion?? Why do still ppl support him and PAY him for doing gigs? I don’t get it… seriously, I don’t!! This guys should just disappear forever.

Any other’s men carreer would have been over if he was caught with his finger in the jar on such a delicate matter. Only random “celebrities” seem to mostly get away with it. I hate this!!

  18. dessa says:

i think u all need to leave him alone its always to side two a story nobody was in the car but them two so i think all of you low life need to leave him a long and if it was one of ya family members will ya want them in jail put your self in his shoe he’s just a kid

  19. puffy says:

Are ya’ll believing this shit she is saying if you are your so fucking whack and dumb. Why do you think this is called celeb bitchy. I watched the interview and he never once said it was our fault he didn’t seem sorry. Rocsi asked if he realizes that the stuff he does makes him not seem like he is sorry and he says i can see why they think that and i can’t make people like me and he says they might think that because the way i slouch but other shit in that report was added because he didnt say that shit. I guees this website is strictly for haters and people that are whack and can’t forgive and think everyone is gonna b perfect. Ya’ll seem like u ain’t got nothing better 2 do then hate go see the real interview instead of talking about shit u dont kno about. petty ass bitches

  20. dessa says:

I was in a relationship for 5 years and I was the one who doing the abuse and till one day he just got tired a beat the shit out me ..you never no who start the abuse with her and him .so i think it wrong to put the blame all on him

  21. elusive says:

wow, just wow. He didnt have a mark on him…No black eye no bruises…she didnt attack him…he brutalized her

  22. Who Cares says:

    @dessa

You can’t possibly be serious. If he was being abused by her, he could have walked away at any time, the same as your boyfriend could have.

He beat the crap out of her! There’s nothing she could have done to justify that. You have to be a total idiot to make a comment like that. Why don’t you date him?

Hope you’ve gotten some help since then. You sound like one screwed up chick.

  23. Peach says:

Well Dessa, I suppose that means two things.
    1. you belong in jail.
    2. your retarded boyfriend belongs in jail.

  24. la chica says:

i hope none of his CDs sell. that would be justice enuf for me.

  25. Jess says:

I think dessa is drunk. I had to read what she wrote 3 times just to get past all of the grammatical errors!

  26. Firestarter says:

Dessa and Puffy are real wizards!

Go to a fan site and quit telling those of us who have a brain how we should think.

    Thanks, Bye!

    LOL@Peach!

  27. Daisy says:

I used to love chris brown.I even defended him for a while, saying rhianna probably hit him first, and she may have started it.Chris is a really talented guy,he can dance with the BEST of them. But every since Rhianna has spoken out,I stopped defending him.Not only what she said made me change my mind, but also the way he is acting. He is helping throw is own career away

  28. jay says:

See, here’s the thing, even if she DID hit him first, she in no way inflicted on him, AT THAT TIME, injuries equal to what he did, nor did he need to continue with his assault. He’s bigger, stronger, was able to restrain her, to stop her if she was assaulting him, and he could have got out of the fucking car and walked away. No, he could not control his anger and emotions, manifested them in violent physical altercation, and he’s now paying that price legally and in the public eye. Deal with it.

Calling someone on their shit verbally (the messages and lying), even being smacked by a smaller person doesn’t give you carte blanche to exert your greater strength. The severity of the injuries showed he had lost control. THAT’S on him.

And y’all saying she went back have no clue how domestic abuse/love works. It’s not a simple thing, but with help and appropriate support victims can find the way to finally leave.

  29. AbbeyRoad says:

I love how people like to yell at commenters for nagging on a site with the word “bitch” in the name.

And it’s also not really nagging because we’re not calling or e-mailing Chris Brown personally to tell him to stop blaming other people for the fallout from his actions, but, you know. Splitting hairs.

  30. tiredofracism says:

vlad469: Are you for real? Of course she should have left him asap but “love” doesn’t always work that way. Nobody should be abused. EVER. But if they choose to stay for whatever reason, that doesn’t mean it’s ok to abuse them again. The only person to be blamed for the abuse is the abuser.

Dessa: You’re certainly right when you write that nobody knows who started the fight, but Brown beat her so hard that it could’ve killed her. A lot of people might not know this but sometimes it only takes one blow to the head to kill someone. She was left with countless bruises all over her face and upper body, so it’s quite obvious that what he did to her was not in self-defense, it was pure violence.

I don’t understand why the woman in the video feels that she has the right to wish him: “[bleep]ing beater!” and “I hope someone beats the [bleep]ing [bleep] out of you!”. That doesn’t make her any better than Brown.

  31. Lisa says:

Jaybird, you really need to drop this subject. I think you’re only doing it for hits. As for all you other dumbasses who want to glorify that little island slut Rihanna, Chris Brown doesn’t give 2 sh*ts about you or wtf you think. I co-sign with artsy fartsy and dessa. Fall back Chris Brown haters cuz he will succeed regardless of your hate.

  32. jay says:

Newsflash, Lisa, Chris Brown don’t care about you, either.

And unfortunately, he probably will succeed, at least on some level, because there are always fools around willing to ease the way, make excuses, think they have a “real man”, blame themselves, and generally perpetuate the abuse of another.

I’m sure you make your momma proud.

Waits for next virtual “smackdown” and is grateful I at least won’t live with it longer than it takes to read it….

  33. Firestarter says:

@Lisa- Whatever! He is, was and always will be a disgusting excuse for a human being.

Furthermore, if he didn’t care what the general public thought, then he wouldn’t have made the rounds trying to apologize for what he did.

It is people like you who allow men to continue with the idea that beating a woman is okay. Maybe in your world, that is okay and the accepted behavior, but in the civilized world, those actions are not okay.

Keep on with your defense of the little SOB. It only shows your ignorance.

  34. Mimi says:

Lisa WTF if u don’t like what JayBird or other blogger have to say about Chris WOMAN BEATER AND BITER Brown go to a fan site and enjoy all the crazy womans that don’t see how sick and dangerous he really is and that we could actually talking right now about him being in jail and RiRi dead if someone didn’t listen her screaming for help.
Now i hope that this situation never happen to u or someone from u family that is very dear to u because people like U dessa and other’s fool’s that continue defend him after everything that the two and the police spoken only will learn how serious and dangerous that situation is when unfortunately happens to u or u family and that is probably the WORSE way to learn something constructive based in the knowledge and life experiences from people that didn’t have the same luck that some of us have to not pass for so traumatic experiences… Think about what u say and imagine yourself in the same place and situation to try understand other’s people problems.
Or just go to sites that support ur way of thinking even if is to dismiss or mocking about this kind of situation that could happen again to u or u family let’s see if u will have the same opinion about it

  35. Who Cares says:

Lisa, you need help a much as he does. How is Rihannna glorified? Like it or not, she is the victim here. Any woman that defends him has major issues herself.

Hope both you and CB get the help you need.

  36. GatsbyGal says:

Lisa…hahaha, Chris Brown isn’t succeeding at all, or haven’t you been keeping up with how “well” his concerts are doing?

  37. jay says:

Apparently, I crossed a line. My apologies. However, I still say Chris Brown was the one in charge of his actions. Time to take responsiblity for them, and completely.

When I wrote the above, my previous comments were gone; they appear to be visible now, to me, at least, but the follow up comment still stands.

  38. Daisy says:

jay…you shouldnt apologize!Freedom of speech and all.Plus, most people agree with you.Only some disturbed people would argue with you.[honestly, who would stick up for a women beater?]Chris has a awful attitude about all this and dosnt seem sorry AT ALL. As I said above,I used to defend him!Its his bad attitude that’s gonna be the end of him.:]

  39. boo says:

It is amazing to me that there are so many ignorant people in this world.
People who call a victim names and defend a criminal. It makes me sick. I’d hope that if the same thing happened to a sister or mother these people would have more compassion. No woman deserves a beating like she got no matter what.

  40. Daisy says:

he is gonna have no career to speak of!he cant even sell tickets!karma is gonna smack him up side the head

  41. lola lola says:

This dirtbag should be bagging my groceries not having a career. On second thought, I don’t want him touching my groceries. He just needs to go away.

  42. flourpot says:

This will never be resolved. Rhianna was/is probably a super bitch and he probably freaked out when she was being said bitch and beat her up. Who’s fault was it? Chris’s. All Chris’s fault. It’s not about “what she did to make him hit her”, it’s about “Chris can’t control himself and needs to be in jail” But because he’s a pretty boy (not to me, omg ew) and can sing or dance or has a wang – whatever the reason – there will always be someone buying whatever he’s selling and keeping him in the public eye.

  43. Firestarter says:

Flourpot- you are right to an extent, but his career will never be the same. Ike Turner NEVER had the fame he had once Tina outed him for the woman beater he was, and that was over 35 yrs ago. Public opinion goes a lot farther now.

He mat sell a cd or two, bjt so did Ike. Doesn’t mean he will have any type of carrer though.

  44. gonzo says:

i hated chris brown way before the rihanna thing! i remember watching some footage of them performing and just seeing him inspired some kind of revulsion in me…the empty dumb look in his eyes, the arrogant swagger of someone who’s only marginally talented….i was not the least surprised when he beat her up, he always struck me as some kind of spectacular asshat.

  45. Aspie says:

I think these stories about Chris Brown are getting a little old and need to be retired. Yes, the guy is a complete douche, we get that and I’m not arguing against that fact.

But there are far worse things going on this world and more people being hurt and killed and wishing Chris would go to jail for life isn’t going to change anything. He will still continue to sing and ignorant people will still continue to support him and hate Rihanna too for trying to “ruin” his career with her recent interview.

I’m clearly against what Chris Brown did to her but also believe in forgiveness. He made a mistake but I don’t think we should simply lock him up and throw away the key either. He clearly has some unresolved issues about violence towards women and of narcissism too that he needs to work on and I think we need to be more aware of that.

  46. fizXgirl314 says:

I actually saw this guy’s music video on swiss mtv… are they playing his shit in the states? cuz apparently they don’t really care down here…

  47. Buzzaroo says:

I want to track down the heckler lady and congratulate her on a job well done.

  48. Popcorny says:

No way should this situation fade off -it’s educational gold.
It’s been getting young adults and teens talking to peers on the subject of domestic abuse.
The best thing that scumbag could do is to take his snappy little blue bow-tie and sweater ensemble on a high school tour, in auditoriums across America, to educate kids on the subject.
    *and then Popcorny woke up*
-because nothing like that’ll ever happen.

  49. Nebraska says:

This has been an extremely interesting read! Kudo’s to all the commenters.

  50. JD says:

What were these people thinking ,applauding on Wendy!

  51. ogechi says:

    LOL @Buddy

  52. Iggles says:

Ugh. I’m saddened that Wendy had that a**hat on her show. Predictable, but he doesn’t deserve a platform for sympathy. He beat the crap out of the woman he claimed to love. He could have EASILY killed her. This should never be forgotten. He will hurt someone again. I’m sure then the SAME people who are defending and coddling him now will do the same then. It’s sickening how people excuse abuse until it’s too late..

  53. Hollywood is full of them... says:

Eminem. Sean Penn. Tupac (and yes I know he’s dead but people still love him). Dr. Dre. Josh Brolin. All of them are successful in their fields yet have at one point in time been accused or convicted of beating a woman. Sean Penn beat Madonna yet I don’t see anyone boycotting his movies or banishing him from the Academy Awards. Eminem’s Relapse album was widely successful yet he used to talk about killing his former wife onstage. She tried to kill herself because of what he would do but no one boycotted that album. No one is crying about that anymore. I don’t get it. Shouldn’t the same rules apply to all people? If you’re going to hate one, hate them all.

  54. Lisa says:

Daisy and all the little twats and Rhianna Stans who commented after my comment. Yes it is freedom of speech so I can say what the heck I want when I want to. And no, I’m too strong of a woman to take all the crap Rhianna took. Love yourself. There is no excuse to take that crap. I love him so much, he loves me. Cut the crap, LOVE YOURSELF!!! So sorry to all those who think that I am or will be an abused woman. I am strong minded and if it was to happen to me, trust and believe it won’t be happening again. That little wh*re was abusive too. Look at the videos and look at what she stands for before talking and trashing CB. He may not give a hell about me, but all you haters are TRASH to him.

  55. Lisa says:

Oh and FIRESTARTER- How ignorant can I be when I am speaking the truth? Half of you on here are a bunch of hypocrites. If you were in CB’s situation you would want the world to mind their own business and stop judging you. You’re not God, so you don’t have the right to judge him. If you were a man (in the event that you’re not) and your GF constantly yelled at you, hit you (she went on record to say that she broke a glass bottle on her brother’s head) you’re going to get tired. Don’t give me crap that you wouldn’t do it b/c I don’t buy it. He’s human and he made a mistake, get over it. He didn’t hit you. It’s funny that you think Rhianna gives two sh*ts about you. Defending her when she’s out partying, acting like the little wh*re she is and promoting violence with her Russian Roulette song. Look at what she stands for. If she was really a victim the last thing she would be doing is glorifying violence.

Btw, she did say she still loves Chris and that she can’t say she wouldn’t go back with him because she doesn’t know what the future holds. So much for St. Rhianna huh?

  56. Lisa says:

@Hollywood is full of them- You would think, but all the Saints and Gods on this forum think that CB is the root of all evil. I’m telling you half of them on here are HYPOCRITES! If you think about it, some of the ppl you mentioned are white. So is it b/c CB is black and successful. I see a trend similar to that of MJ’s. When he was successful and the media and thousands if not millions of hypocrites shredded his image to pieces and depicted him as a pedofile until the poor man died. It’s funny b/c one of the boys came out and said his father forced him to lie so they could get money. Different situations, but similar trends.

    You all make me sick.

  57. Praise St. Angie! says:

“You’re not God, so you don’t have the right to judge him.”

I’d say the same thing to YOU, regarding your assessment of other posters on here (twats, hypocrites) and Rihanna (little island slut).

yes, you have the freedom to say whatever you want…but understand with that freedom comes responsibility. you are responsible for what you said, and other people have the same freedom that YOU do, to react to your comments and comment themselves.

you’re making an awful lot of judgments about people…what they’d do or how they’d act if they were in a particular situation…but you don’t know what they’d do and for you to claim that they’d do a particular thing is pretty ballsy of you, not to mention, HYPOCRITICAL of you…you know, since you seem to think only God has the right to judge anybody.

    regarding this…

“some of the ppl you mentioned are white. So is it b/c CB is black and successful.”

if only SOME of the people mentioned are white, and SOME are black, I don’t see how you can successfully cry “racism” on that point.

and why is it you constantly refer to Rihanna as a “slut” or “whore”? she doesn’t slut around that I’ve seen, so is it possible you’re letting your personal feelings about Chris Brown cloud your JUDGMENT of her?

oh, wait, only God can judge, right? or is it only YOU and God who can judge people?

yeah, yeah…we all make you sick. Prattle on…

  58. JaNa'e says:

the bitch that yelled at him was crazy, going after him as if she had even the slightest connection to either him or rihanna. People are getting too into their feelings about this situation. they’ve taken it on as if it was a family member of their own and the truth is that we know nothing about either of these people and we know even less about what happened in that car. people are taking sides as if it’s a battle to be won and the fact still remains that both of them will continue to make music and have their careers.

we all know that chris’ album is going to go platinum because of the publicity alone, so people who claim his career is over should check the charts and see that he’s still climbing to the top. Rihanna will make it because feminists & battered women believe that she needs their support. but that ‘what if it was your sister or mother’ excuse will only go so far if someone doesn’t hurry up and get her a vocal coach.

a year from now no one will care about any of this
