In July Keke Palmer unfollowed her baby’s dad, Darius Jackson, after he shamed her for wearing a skimpy outfit when she was at an Usher concert. It was nonsensical, tired misogynoir. He shamed her for wearing something hot because she was “a mom” as if moms suddenly have to be modest. He was dragged to hell and back and all of his other embarrassing, misogynistic, and problematic tweets from days of old were aired out. I hoped that the unfollowing meant she had dumped his ass because she deserves better. Keke has megawatt charisma and talent and she should be with a man who worships her instead of firing off petty, insecure tweets about her outfits. But she spent her birthday weekend with him and they seem coupled up again. Sigh. They were on an Instagram live–it looked like they were out to lunch–and she thanked him for making her birthday “so special” and he called her his partner in crime. He also teased her about being a Virgo.

On Saturday, the fitness instructor took to Instagram Live with the “Nope” star as they enjoyed some alcoholic beverages to commemorate her special day.
In the clip, Palmer joked with Jackson about why he talks trash about Virgos, which is her astrological sign.
“My mom’s a Virgo, my brother’s a Virgo, my best friend’s a Virgo, my grandma’s a Virgo,” he said before looking at the actress.
“My partner in crime’s a Virgo.”
Palmer then thanked Jackson, 29, for taking her out on her birthday “as always.”
“I just thank you for making it special for my birthday. That’s so sweet,” she gushed.
Their reunion comes nearly two months after Jackson shamed her for wearing a sexy outfit to an Usher concert.
She also has a tattoo of his birth date on her right leg just below her butt. In her scorching hot birthday Instagram pics you can see it. I don’t know if it’s new or not. But regardless, this man has no business being with this woman. I guess she’s forgiven him but when he tweeted about her outfit and then doubled down about it, he sounded like a controlling, demeaning, shaming guy. I hope she sees him for who he really is soon and gets out of there. I know he’s the father of her child but I just know someone better is out there for her.
Also, the shade towards Virgos? Miss me with that. Keke plays it off hilariously but he can’t even find something sweet to say about her in the video, he has to say “don’t believe the hype” on Virgos, including Keke. I’m an Aries so I know that I annoy all the Virgos around me but I’ve always had a soft spot for them. We need people in the world with immaculately color-coded spreadsheets (couldn’t be me; when I have to keep track of data at my day job, I use tally marks in a notebook labelled, coyly, “observations”). We need people who remember to bring snacks and “circle back” and make dinner reservations six weeks in advance. Virgos are not the problem here, Darius, your attitude is.

to be honest, I don’t think they ever actually broke up. it was never confirmed, people just assumed.

Keke noooooooooooo. Sigh… everything you just said Carina! Ha ha I’m also an Aries and my friend from law school who is a Virgo used to color code her notes. I missed class one day out sick and and she let me copy her notes from the day before. Different colored pens for different things. I’ve never seen more organized notes in my damn life. Facts of the case written in pink. Issue written in green. Applicable law in red. Analysis in black. Conclusion in blue. Additional notes annotations about the case in brown. She wrote them in class, went home, and re-wrote them in a more organized fashion. She also always matched her belt to her shoes and was just impeccable. I must have driven her mad with the coffee stains on my sweatshirt/absent minded professor Detective Columbo vibes.

My daughter is an Aries. Her room is always a mess, in the sense that it has clothes all over the floor. But my closet is like that and I’m a Sag. We’re both scattered about some things and totally on top of others. She is a very focused, orderly and purposeful person in many ways. She came into my kitchen and color coded my countertop: lemons in the yellow bowl, limes in the green one, onions in the brown one! I liked it so much I started doing the same thing. Now I just need an orange bowl for when I buy mangos….
Lol AnneL yes you need an orange bowl! So I’m actually pretty organized not to the point where I color coded by notes. But I admit when I get busy I can get lazy about my appearance which is a big no no for a Virgo. I would sit there and tell a story and my Virgo friend would not even be able to focus on it staring with this mortified look on her face. And I would ask what is wrong and she’d respond “there’s a coffee stain on your sweatshirt” Like she could not hear a thing I was saying until that stain was removed entirely. It used to crack me up but I must have driven her crazy wearing the same sweatshirt for 3 days (I would wash it but that’s still a big no)…
@Carina I am also an Aries and my notes are very originally labeled “[Name of Project] Working Notes” I intend to rename them all “Observations” now. 😄
Even if they are back together, it doesn’t mean it’s forever. She may just not be ready to leave him. But for sure she can do better than this shaming man.
In other news, I am obsessed with the “Boyfriend” video. She is amazing and wow she can dance. I kinda hope she has a little spark with Usher.

The internet really was giddy about them breaking up,some of the reactions were ridiculous.
Maybe he learned his lesson. Maybe he’s becoming a better person. If we don’t think people can evolve, then why bother with anyone, because I’ve never met anyone perfect, who doesn’t have wrong-headed ideas about something.
Anyway, they look cute and in sync and playful. And this looks a little like a bit. Maybe give them some time and space to work out whatever they need to and let us be less judgmental of those who are committed to improving.
Honestly this is the most fair,intelligent and balanced response I have heard of this whole incident. People were so happy for them to just break up their family like people are suppose to be perfect.

I won’t listen to opinions on Virgos from an Aquarius so he can feel free to leave at any time. I think she deserves better than a man who tried to publically shame her. From my experience, those type of men don’t tend to change easily or quickly.

I didn’t see all of what he said, but I assumed “don’t believe the hype” around Virgos was referring to people bagging on Virgos. People beat up on Virgos for being overly critical, nagging, etc, so I took it as him defending them. He just said it rather awkwardly.

Ugh. Nobody is perfect and maybe he learned from it. The fact that he felt the need to put those thoughts out there so publicly about his partner was pathetic though. Misogyny seems to be harder to develop a filter for than other things of that nature because the culture is constantly telling us that there’s nothing wrong with it- that it’s a person’s right to make demands and be as loud as possible when a woman isn’t meeting their standards in that area.
Yeah even if it’s an act it’s not cute. Keke can do better but she’s not in a place where she understands that yet. Virgos do tend to be loyal to a fault and that’s probably the dynamic plus he is the father her child.
At some point she will cut him off for good, but he’s going to get a lot chances before then.

I’m surprised to see them together frankly, after the video she and Usher did. That video looked like a giant “piss off” to me. But they have a kid and if they can find a way to work it out or at least be civil co-parents then good for them. As long as he’s not like Future and keeps his mouth shut for at least the sake of his child then great.
They have a child together, meaning that they will be in each other lives for the sake of their son. The only problem with their disagreement was he made his hurt feelings known public, grow in so he invited all the stuff in their personal affair at that time.
I hope there is growth from both sides from that incident…
