NYC Mayor Eric Adams canceled his appearance with Prince William

Here are more photos of Prince William on “Day 2” of his big New York trip. The British media gave away the game in about a million different ways, like mentioning Prince Harry repeatedly in their coverage of William’s trip, to tagging stories about Peg’s Big NYC adventure under their “Prince Harry” label, to claiming that William was in Harry’s “backyard.” We get it, guys – this trip was all about William copying Harry, wanting what Harry has, wanting to be a global statesman like Harry. William thinks that all it takes is a few careful photo-ops – he doesn’t understand that people love Harry because he’s charismatic, he works hard, he’s authentic and he doesn’t waste people’s time with Jealousy Tours and bumbling photo-ops. Speaking of Harry, apparently New Yorkers heard that a prince was in town and they were disappointed that it was just William:

Prince William got an incredibly warm reception today during a visit to a New York City fire station right next to the World Trade Center, with some FDNY members cracking jokes about Kate Middleton’s absence from his trip. FDNY Lieutenant Drew Kane said in an exclusive interview with Daily Express US: “Of course, we asked him where Kate was. We wanted to know why Kate wasn’t here.”

Kane laughed and said: “He didn’t answer that.”

The Prince of Wales, who is in the city for the Earthshot Prize Awards, received loud cheers from large crowds which had gathered outside the fire station while Princess Kate visited a youth intervention charity during a visit in central London.

The streets were blocked off for the arrival of the VIP guest, whose identity was unknown until he stepped out of a blacked out car which had been flanked by a police escort. Many questioned at first as to whether it was actually Prince Harry, and seemed pleasantly surprised when his older brother emerged.

[From The Daily Express]

The Express actually changed that last line – originally, it was “many tourists questioned where Harry was” but I guess the Express got an incandescent phone call from Kensington Palace. Still, even firefighters would have rather seen Kate than William. Something else happened – or didn’t happen – around this FDNY photo-op. Mayor Eric Adams was supposed to show Peg around the fire house, but Adams canceled at the last minute:

Mayor Eric Adams quickly scheduled – and then 30 minutes later canceled – an appearance with Prince William Tuesday afternoon, causing a royal pain for any New Yorkers who rushed over to see Adams cross paths with the heir apparent.

Of course, most of the crowd outside the Lower Manhattan firehouse wasn’t there to see Adams, but to catch a glimpse of the Prince of Wales. A sizable crowd and some British press gathered around the portion of Liberty Street shut down for William’s visit. And while Hizzoner didn’t show, FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh was there to greet the prince at the firehouse, which is across the street from the 9/11 Memorial.

William’s New York City tour coincides with the United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week. He already paid a visit to an oyster reef restoration project on Governors Island.

Representatives for Adams did not immediately respond to a request for comment about why Adams’ appearance with Prince William was so quickly scheduled and then canceled. Maybe it’s no great loss; if we had to pick one royal to watch Adams pal around with, it’d be Prince Harry.

[From City & State NY]

The mayor canceled on him. Just two years ago, when Harry and Meghan visited New York, they did a photo-call at One World Trade with then-Mayor De Blasio AND New York Governor Kathy Hochul. And Harry was invited to speak at the United Nations. And Meghan fronted a UN campaign AND spoke at the UN well before she even met Harry. And Harry visited FDNY Ten House years ago, in his 20s. Such desperation from William, it’s really so sad.

  1. Tessa says:

    Kudos to mayor adams

    • Megan says:

He obviously thought he was being booked to meet with Harry and canceled when that was clarified.

    • Lux says:

Yes, a lot of New Yorkers are not happy with Adams, but at least he did one thing right!

      • Visa Diva says:

Honestly on this case I’m not sure who came out with the won here. Adams is an oddball and who knows what he would’ve said at the meeting. This might be a draw.

      • Frankie says:

Actually, it’s great that they didn’t meet as the headline would have been about how NYC Mayor Chose PW over H&M with ( insert dig about paparazzi chase).
The 🗑️🇬🇧📰 would have made that the headline for both. So kudos to the aide who undo that.

  2. Olivia says:

I bet a lot of pillows where thrown peacefully around the hotel rooms… hahahaha

    • DK says:

      @Olivia, ha! Exactly!

      And which is it, media?

How could the crowd not know which VIP would arrive…but also be gathered there specifically to see William?!

The lies aren’t even consistent in the same article….

      • Lux says:

So true. So who is this sizable crowd for? Being “pleasantly” surprised? At this point the physical resemblance between William and Prince Albert is so great that some of them probably thought they got royalty from Monaco.

      • Booboocita says:

@Lux — a f there had been even a hint of a crowd, it would have been photographed. Look, TOB is a big draw, too! Pics or it didn’t happen …

      • MoxyLady007 says:

What does meeting the major at a fire house (???? Why?????) have to do with the environment?

It’s like no one cared to meet with him so they booked a bunch of photo oops cuz it’s not like he knows the difference between that and actual
        Work

    • Coldbloodedjellydonut says:

That’s what I was thinking, Moxy, why a firehouse? It makes sense if you’re there for something about 9/11, but the environment? Do they have a super special waste-water capture system or something?

      • Becks1 says:

So apparently, the firehouse visit was about mental health, not the environment. William just tacks “mental health” onto visits to make it seem like he’s actually interested in mental health, when everyone knows he bullied his American SIL to the point of suicide (or let the press bully her.)

  3. ThatsNotOkay says:

‘Kane laughed and said: “He didn’t answer that.”’

So William won’t speak about Kate either? Such insecurity. Such ego. They’re asking about your wife?!! And even THAT is too close to home to reply to?

    • Jk says:

He could have said, “We are very much not a divorced couple.”

    • equality says:

Since Kate acts that way when Meghan’s name comes up, she deserves the snub.

    • Becks1 says:

All he had to do was laugh and say “oh she’s on homework duty this week.” Ignoring the question is not only rude but weird.

      • The Duchess says:

It’s evident he didn’t want her there at all. The way he treats her with such distain is staggering, but I can’t say she doesn’t deserve it. Instead Keen is immersed in a one-sided war with Meghan instead of trying to save her crumbling marriage.

      • Kim says:

Yeah the fact that they’re no even trying to come up with a dumb excuse like “she’s doing the school run” is very telling

      • Lux says:

There’s no need to even mention homework or school—Keen literally had an event in London that he could’ve used as an excuse. Unless he didn’t know about it…dun dun!

We all know he’s seething they asked about her—not just because he can’t stand her, but because it obviously means he’s not enough (which he isn’t). Poor heir apparent—always overshadowed, be it by wife or (for much better reason) little brother.

I mean, Harry gets asked about Meg all the time and he gets it…because he himself is obsessed with his wife.

      • Harper says:

It must be pretty bad if Burger King can’t even make one of his off-the-cuff distasteful jokes about Kate’s absence. He must have really thought if he didn’t bring her, no one would remember they were married. That divorce announcement can’t come soon enough.

      • Smart&Messy says:

This is the approach adopted by the entire brf when it comes to uncomfortable questions. They ignore it. In this day and age, it comey across unprofessional, disrespectful and stupid. The guy asked about his wife, FFS. It’s not that hard to come up with an off the cuff excuse. Noone will keep pressing him for more details. It’s also very telling that asking about Kate is a topic he wants to avoid.

    • Robert says:

My suspicion is he didn’t know where his wife was. She was off on a helicopter ride….

  4. Cassie says:

He looks like a complete dick in those photos and I love that the Mayor cancelled on him .

    • Debbie says:

Well, William does look somewhat constipated. And I like that the meet & greet with the mayor was scheduled, then later cancelled. Much better than not being set up at all. I love that for William.

    • BeanieBean says:

I’m rather interested that this was something arranged by the mayor’s office last minute (c’mon, not the mayor personally), and then the mayor bowed out. Probably because he’s the mayor of NYC during the UN General Assembly week, he doesn’t have time for photo ops with the Prince of Photo Ops. Just shows how lame William & his staff is/are–they were scrambling to get him something more to do after his hour with oysters & afternoon luncheon, and that meet & greet with the UN Sec General. Such a lightweight.

      • BQM says:

I think they got a call, acquiesced to get the hell off the phone. Then waited until they couldn’t be harassed over it and canceled.

  5. YeahRight says:

You know you aren’t as popular as you think you are when a guy like Eric Adams who loves a good photo op with rich and famous people cancels on you.

    • Dee(2) says:

Right? This guy has popped up on podcasts, random parties, and everything. He had time in his schedule to give Diddy the key to the city last week lol, but no time for William. This is what he deserves though. He could save himself a lot of effort and embarrassment, if he just worked. All of this extra stuff is more effort, and it never turns out the way that they imagine. This is the third time in a row him and his wife have crossed the Atlantic and been utterly humiliated.

      • Steph says:

@dee(2) what’s the first time? I’ve got Boston and now NY.

      • Belli says:

        The Caribbean Disaster Tour!

      • Dee(2) says:

@steph yeah the Caribbean tour. Which for anyone with sense and managerial expertise would have caused a complete shift in how you operate. Maybe third time will be the charm.

      • Eating Popcorn says:

Good G*d, The Mayor gave someone as problematic as Diddy a key to the city… AND won’t EVEN be photographed with William? Just goes to show you how the mighty have fallen. New York is clearly seeing William for who he is.

      • Steph says:

I forgot the Caribbean constitutes crossing the Atlantic 🤦. I’m but fully awake yet.

  6. Cel2495 says:

Lol! This is just beyond sad now.

England come and get your prince 😂

    • Taytanish says:

“Representatives for Adams did not immediately respond to a request for comment about why Adams’ appearance with Prince William was so quickly scheduled and then canceled. Maybe it’s no great loss; if we had to pick one royal to watch Adams pal around with, it’d be Prince Harry”. That’s all she wrote.

      • Eurydice says:

But, but, but, Americans HATE Harry!!!

      • Smart&Messy says:

Lol yes! The article is about the fact that everyone expected Harry, but it was just Peg, so the mayor canceled and the disappointed crowd went on with their day.

  7. Mslove says:

“Does he know who I am?” Pegs shouting after being stood up by the Mayor, probably.

  8. Minnieder says:

Who exactly is he waving to?
“Hi trash can, hi pigeons, good to see you, thanks for coming!”

  9. Pinkosaurus says:

So he set up this big photo op with NYFD, onlookers asked why it wasn’t Harry and the firefighters asked where Kate was? Then he didn’t even get his mini-me copycat photo with the NYC mayor like Harry? 😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂😅🥲. I love this for him.

    • SussexWatcher says:

Right?! This trip gets more and more pathetic with every story that’s published 🤭

      • Lady D says:

This trip is also much funnier than I expected.

      • Smart&Messy says:

And I keep thinking this is really the rock bottom moment of this trip, before I click the next story where it gets even more cringe. I don’t know if I can handle any more 2nd hand embarrasment this week.
I couldn’t even pick the worst moment if I tried. The firehouse visit where everyone wanted to see Harry and asked about Kate, or Peg wandering around Central Park to photo bomb the UN ambassadors running club with CP Frederik?

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

How humiliating for William! But he should have learned his lesson after Boston’s boos, chants of “USA!”, and “I didn’t invite these people” comments, that most Americans don’t like him.

But don’t worry, his British tabloid sycophants will print lies about his trip being a big success, how Americans love William, and his racist supporters and paid bots will gush on X and reddit about his statesmanship. But Americans will continue to laugh at him.

  10. SussexWatcher says:

So the crowds were actually only there because of the September 11 memorial across the street. We can all agree on that, right? And that this specific firehouse was chosen for that reason? To make it seem like the crowds were there for him? Because if they really were there for him they wouldn’t have been surprised when he stepped out of the car or at the absence of Keen.

Also, my guess is that Pegs was late and the mayor – who has an actual job and things to do – wasn’t going to wait around for this Bozo the Prince. He supposedly cancelled a few minutes after it was scheduled to begin so I’m guessing he was on his way, was told Pegs wasn’t even there yet, and then noped outta there.

    • Jan says:

This was a last minute schedule meeting and the Mayor canceled 30 minutes after it was made.

    • Becks1 says:

Yes, because it says the crowds didn’t even know who the VIP guest was. so they noticed the sidewalks being blocked off and gathered to see who it was; they weren’t gathering for William.

      • BeanieBean says:

I’ve done that! Noticed folks on the sidewalk in Rome with their phones & cameras out, waited around a few minutes, then heard motorcycles & around the corner came…the Popemobile! There’s the Pope (the one before this one), standing & waving with the light shining on him.

      • Becks1 says:

I do this at Disney to see what characters are coming out 🤣🤣🤣

    • Caroline says:

I used to work down there and it’s true there’s always a ton of tourists around looking for something to do. I’ve seen crowds that size assembled to watch local teenagers breakdance. Basically tourists want to see a famous person when they’re in NYC so if there’s security and barricades set up folks are going to wait to see who it is.

  11. girl_ninja says:

I LOVE this for Willy. It’s everything he deserves and I hope he continues to get a helping heaping of even more of that sh!t tasting humble pie. When folks are hoping to see wiglet more than you, that should be a moment of introspection.

  12. Over it says:

Kaiser as always was spot on , wank should have made these meetings a zoom call. Perhaps now wank Will finally realize that no one is into him

  13. Carmen says:

Charisma is a unique quality that can’t be learned or faked. You have it or you don’t. Harry and Meghan have it. Kate and William don’t.

    • MoxyLady007 says:

Yes. But also – empathy, compassion, intelligence, curiosity, being prepared for every meeting, caring about people’s names and stories, actually working, interacting often and frequently with the public via speeches and social media, being shown to have the slightest sense of humor, having actual interests with which you can connect with other people – not just ascribing said interest to your children randomly – these can all go a long way to their charisma deficient.

They have all the money and privilege in the world and living is a burden to them.

  14. heygingersnaps says:

Bulliam the man child, this is the result of being brought up and told that he’s the best at everything without doing the work to show for it. How can someone so arrogant look so unconfident at the same time?! Must be from stepping out of his bubble of yes men and sycophants.

    • Mary Pester says:

Hey William, your hotel is going to bill you for those pillows you know! How’s the ego now, we thought you were Harry and wheres Kate. Dear oh dear, not so high and mighty now are you 😂😂😂😂

    • Smart&Messy says:

He does look unconfident when out of his yes men bubble.

  15. MsIam says:

Mayor Adams also met Harry and Meghan when Harry spoke at the UN. Daily Express really whitewashed that article, lol. The first version talked about how the tourists were disappointed it was not Harry visiting. I guess KP forgot that screenshots live forever.

  16. Gabby says:

“Jealousy Tour” – I cannot think of a more perfect description.

A crowd was gathered because in NY you never know who will drop by. I’m sure that when the royal human shitstain got out of the car, some people thought “who TF is that?”

  17. s808 says:

Based on a tweet I saw, the Mayor canceled at the last minute too, yikes. I know the purpose of this trip was to make him feel better but I don’t think it’s shaking out the way he wanted it to….This is his own solo caribbean tour flop, just without the public firing.

  18. BlueSky says:

You know it’s bad when that clout chasing clown of a mayor cancels on you! Wasn’t EA posing a couple of days ago with Anna Wintour??

  19. I bet the Mayor thought it was Harry so made time and then he was told no it’s Peg and he canceled 😂😂😂😂. He got no time for the Copy Harry Tour photo op.😂😂😂.

    • Lucky Charm says:

That’s exactly what I was thinking. He made time in his schedule when he thought it was Harry but wouldn’t spare a minute for William. Love this for him lol

  20. Becks1 says:

Oh man, the second hand embarrassment!!!!!

So the crowds weren’t even for him b/c people didn’t know who was going to be there, the mayor cancelled on him, the FDNY chief asked about Kate, and to top it off, Harry visited this same fire station years ago so this really just screams “ANYTHING HE CAN DO I CAN DO BETTER!!!!”

like……who on earth planned this trip??? It’s so desperate and pathetic.

  21. Gossipgirl says:

Lets be clear: Anytime a street is blocked off in that area if NYC a crowd is formed immediately. Not by New Yorkers but tourist. I’m not sure why the Mayor canceled but somebody told him it wasn’t a good look to be photo-oped with William. I personally think it had a lot to do with the complete snub from the Biden Administration.

    • MoxyLady007 says:

Yup. I’ve seen New Yorkers walk by FAMOUS ASS PEOPLE and they are minding their own business and getting on with their lives. Tourist though? That’s a whole other thing.

  22. Layla says:

*Cue rolling footage of Lily Tucker-Pritchett from Modern family prancing her dad* Wah-Waaahhh 🤡

  23. Amy Bee says:

I saw royalists raving about the crowds but reading this piece I’ve now realised that the crowds were really tourists visiting the 9/11 memorial. This is so sad and embarrassing.

    • Caroline says:

Not just the 911 memorial, there’s also wall street and the bull statue very close by, the fancy newish calatrava path station, and the ferries to Staten Island and the statue of Liberty. Absolutely brimming with tourists.

  24. Steph says:

Adams probably cancelled when he realized it was the brother used racism to run his brother and SIL out the country. I don’t think EA actually cares about that aspect bc it’s all a popularity game to him, but either he realized or someone on his team realized it wasn’t a good look.

  25. Steph says:

@kaiser that sad face cover pic is hilarious! Really shows how pathetic he is.

  26. Brassy Rebel says:

The Daily Express tries way too hard here. They make it sound like a HUGE crowd gathered just for William but admit they didn’t know who was coming till he stepped out of the limo. And the firehouse visit doesn’t sound very “warm” to me. They thought it was super sketchy that he wouldn’t talk about his wife. 🤔😏

    • Debbie says:

Apparently William is unaware that the excuse du jour for leaving his wife home this time was their old standard “parenting duties” for HIS children. Fancy his not knowing that.

  27. Ameerah M says:

Mayor Adams posed with Harry & Meghan when Harry addressed the UN. He is on the far right side of the official picture.

  28. Queen Meghan's Hand says:

    HAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHA

  29. MSTJ says:

Spare is practically a ‘tome’ on the QEII royal institution dynamic with depth on his brother and father’s temperament. I’m so glad Harry wrote it. It has allowed me to assess things Kate and William do clear eyed and with the appropriate lens.

Despite numerous tabloid articles this year claiming that William and Kate do not pay attention to the Sussexes, it is clear as day to me that they are highly invested in what the Sussexes do.

The jealousy they have must gnaw at them every day. William practically tried to replicate everything his brother has done in NY, using the Earthshot Prize Summit as an excuse for the trip.

    What?
    – Visit to Fire Engine 10
    – Meet with NYC Mayor
    – Meet with UNSG
    – Speak at the UN
    – Visit Central Park

    Results?
    – Harry visited over a decade ago, engagingly chatted with them in the fire house and was presented with a FE10 t-shirt from the firefighters. William had a conference room photo op and asked and encouraged them to talk about their mental health. 👀
    – The Mayor of NYC cancelled his plans to meet with William. Harry met with the Mayor of NYC and the Governor of NY when he and Meghan visited and toured the 9/11 memorial 2 years ago.
    – Harry and Meghan both met with UNGS (pre marriage). They also met with US Ambassador to UN as well as UN committees to discuss COVID vaccine equity and secure support for vaccines to poor countries 2 years ago. William had a handshake with the UNSG. 🤣
    – Harry (last year) and Meghan (pre marriage) separately spoke at the UN. William did not speak at the UN. 😝
    – Harry and Meghan spoke to thousands in Central Park for Global Citizen COVID vaccine equity awareness and drum up support for funding 2 years ago. William had a morning run in Central Park and no one noticed. 🤣

He looked so stupid because the incompetent KP courtiers could not pull it off despite their supposed vast Palace resources and William being heir to the throne which they frequently boast about. I think they’ve learned that their influence in England does not translate beyond its borders. 🤦‍♀️

However, they toxic British media propaganda will report that his visit was a success and that he is a global statesman. The most popular person in America. The one person that will bring America together. 🤣 The British public will believe it. The social media accounts that support them will repeat the lies. Mission accomplished. Then it’s back to them stalking the Sussexes to continue their one sided feud to embiggen William. 🤷‍♀️

BTW – wasn’t he supposed to release a fly on the documentary on homelessness with ITV this summer? Whatever happened to that? I guess they scrapped it after his homelessness tour flopped. Maybe they’ll do one about the Earthshot Summit/NY flop tour and air it in November/December. 🤭

Good to see the facts about his flop tour in US media coverage.

    • Jane says:

This ‘tour’ has received minimal coverage in the UK media. I’m sure the tabloids are spinning the crowd as evidence of his popularity but he has received no front pages and barely any mention on BBC. Those of us who don’t read tabloids would really have to hunt to find articles about it.

  30. Feeshalori says:

I truly dislike our mayor but love that he pulled out of his meeting with the other poser.

  31. Marivic says:

Kate stepped on William’s news feed by going to a youth intervention charity same time her husband was in NY. Maybe it’s true they’re heading for a divorce. Looks like she doesn’t care about what William thinks.

  32. Moira's Rose's Garden says:

Not an EA fan at all, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

He was recently at the Vogue cover party for Aokilee Simmons. Dude literally shows up to any event when celebs will be there. But the fact that he cancelled on PWT 30 minutes before the time is EPIC.

Yeah a staffer must have told him that 1. it wasn’t Harry visiting and 2. The Caribbean Flop Tour amongst other things the “very much not a racist” colonizer has said and done over the years.

Anyone else wondering how many “pillows” have been thrown since this failure ended?

  33. Chantal says:

This should be a major blow to one’s ego! Someone screams “Prince Harry”, looks closer and says “oh, Its Just William”. I’m sure Its Just William will be fine. Some sycophant is probably stroking said ego right now…”your royal hieny (behind), you are the bestest, most wonderful prince ever, you definitely have more hair than Harry, of course Meghan liked you and and your sparkling personality. you’re a genius, you’re too sexy for yourself…”

  34. Lau says:

Even if it wouldn’t have been much better, kate’s presence would probably have brought more attention to the whole trip but that guy is way too jealous and petty to actually share his five minutes of attention lol.

  35. Jay says:

Oh dear. Maybe the mayor thought that The Other Brother’s apparently reborn sex appeal would be too overpowering?

  36. Molly says:

He damn well better have canceled – he shouldn’t have made the appt in the first place. For God’s sake, NYC is in the worst crisis its been in 20+ years. Prioirities, sir.

  37. QuiteContrary says:

This whole trip has been hilarious.

  38. Saschafrom76 says:

Honestly pegs and buttons are starting to freak me out. They’re psychotic and unhinged. I think they really are the reason H and M fled the country can you imagine living with these absolute derangers?!?? They’re freakishly single white femaling them BOTH. Pegs and Buttons need to stay married anyone else would have both of them committed and I mean that YIKES

  39. caitie21 says:

So I work at 4 World Trade and saw that Liberty Street was blocked off yesterday. There was a super small crowd and I honestly thought that there has been an emergency and people were just lined up to see what happened. Like calling it a “crowd” is super generous.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Thanks, caitie21, for the info. Well, the UK tabloids can take 1 person and make it a crowd when they want to. Good to know what was really going on.

  40. ElleE says:

That piece was not written by anyone who has been to, or knows, NYC.

No one clamors to see the mayor, ever, especially a fire house appearance with a foreign dignitary.

I saw Daniel Radcliffe being interviewed on the sidewalk with a small crew at the height of his Harry Potter fame. I wanted to stop, but everyone around me continue to look forward, and I kept walking too.

Off the top of my head; only Prince Harry, Obama, and Justin Trudeau, pre-divorce, only with either Obama or Prince Harry would draw a crowd at a NYC fire house.

  41. Special-K says:

There really is no there there.

  42. Norvell says:

NY Mayor Eric Adams recognized what was happening: Using him to make news for Prince William. Adams likely didn’t appreciate how The Daily Mail attempted to use his comments about Prince Harry’s and Duchess Meghan’s NY car chase against The Sussexes. Adams clearly meant to ensure that would not happen again.

  43. Babz says:

I’m sorry, but this photo op at the FDNY station just feels like he is trying to capitalize on the recent 9/11 anniversary. It makes me dislike him even more. Harry visited on a milestone anniversary of the day, which seems natural. With this entire trip a made-up photo for the other brother, it screams insincere to me. And I love it that the fire fighters wanted to see Kate, and razzed him about her absence, which makes me love them even more – if that were possible. Also, good on the mayor for canceling, for whatever reason!

    • Feeshalori says:

I’m so glad William got a razzing from our firefighters, he thought he’d avoid pointed questions from the NY reporters whom he was hiding from. You don’t walk into a city firehouse and expect obsequiousness from these guys. And Adams did the one right thing by canceling on this coattail rider.

  44. Well Wisher says:

Did William get back to KP? He would have been greeted with the following headline –
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12540973/Rishi-Sunak-gives-major-environmental-speech-amid-furious-Tory-row-green-policy-U-turn-including-delay-petrol-car-gas-boiler-bans.html

This is as ordered by the powerful ‘gatekeepers’ who do not want to pay taxes and do not want their customers to pay any….

Earthshot can be made meaningful if it can quietly try to reinstate the green policies, the Brexiteers are also smearing France and Germany…..

But instead of facts, there is a forging of a mythological prince/’statesman’ to create a distraction by photo-ops and imaginary one-sided feuds with other family members..

It is so much more productive if the Wails can spend ten minutes per day repeating their daily affirmations….
    And healthier…..

  45. Satish More says:

I’m not usually one to get annoyed by people’s random idiosyncrasies, but William has an annoying wave.

Also I don’t think it is but that looks like Seth Rogan behind him in one of the pics.

  46. Chiara_Boss says:

I wonder if that’s a deliberate choice of CB writers or William indeed looks this awful on all photos. The grimace. He has handsome features, yet it seems like the Dorian Grey situation where true character and deeds just seep through. In other words – he doesn’t look pleasant at all.

  47. Beverley says:

Bwahaha! Eric Adams is quite underwhelming but he’s risen a peg or two in my eyes! Good job, Mayor. The Other Brother isn’t worth one minute of any American’s time.

  48. Sobiewski says:

@Satish — Interesting theory, Satish. I’ve had similar thoughts regarding Will’s sexual persuasion. I think more likely is that he is bisexual like his father, King Charles. Always interesting to hear others theories and insight.

This whole exercise has been painful to watch, I almost feel sorry for the guy. (not really) Harry and Meghan’s time at Invictus was an outstanding international success and they were warmly embraced by the athletes, their families, dignitaries and celebrities alike. They shone like the superstars they are! Now KC is being feted with much pomp by Macron et al, once again overshadowing the sad little man and his sorry PR trip to NY. Whoever planned this trip should be fired. The new CEO has their work cut out for them. hard to shine a rusty door hinge and try to make it seem relevant or worthy of notice. Abolish the monarchy!

  50. Izzy says:

How was he a “mystery VIP”? His planned visit with FDNY was all over social media for two days before it happened.

  51. May says:

What I want to know is why was this meeting with the Mayor scheduled so late? Could they not get anyone else?

  52. BQM says:

People are getting Harry and Meghan’s nyc trips conflated. They visited One World Observatory in 2021 where the governor and then mayor deblasio met them. They had the UN trip in 2022 where they met mayor adams who was also speaking.

  53. Lilly (with the double-L) says:

Catching up today. Ha ha. I love all the different nuances of a Black mayor cancelling on Bill. Thank you Mayor Adams. But, I do understand some of the frustrations New Yorkers have expressed about his leadership. Still… bwahaha.
