Tom Cruise & Cameron Diaz are cute in ‘Knight & Day’ trailer

You know how Xenu provided Tom Cruise with a big, manly action film called Knight & Day? Well, this is the first trailer for the film, coming a whole two seconds after Cameron Diaz and Tom completed filming on the project. Actually, I wonder if they’ve even stopped – they might still have more sh-t to film. So, this came out in a rush, and yet it doesn’t really look like a rush job. It looks… not horrible? I mean, it looks cheesy and weird, yes, but high-quality cheesy and weird. CB talked briefly about the trailer in the other Tom Cruise post today, about how he’s getting sued.

It actually reminds me a little of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in tone, style and story. Like, very stylized action scenes interspersed with cute one-liners and romance. “A love story with guns” is what producers would say. My favorite line from the trailer is Tom’s: “No one follow us or I kill myself and then her.”

I’ll say this too – both Tom and Cameron look good in it. Lighting, makeup, wardrobe, all of it is working well to make them look nice. It seems like a weird thing to mention, but Cameron and Tom have both been in movies where it seemed like the lighting and makeup people didn’t know what to do with them. The whole thing seems to be aiming for glossy and fun. My guess is that it will deliver.

Oh, and what the hell is Peter Sarsgaard doing in this movie? He’s like a million times the actor Tom Cruise is. I guess he needed a paycheck. For shame, Sarsgaard!

DAYUM YEW Kaiser!!! I hate trailers that make me want to see a movie I would never otherwise consider seeing. And I watched this one and think its worth the popcorn.

Interesting to me, Cameron Diaz seems to have all the charismatic shots. Like the producers are afraid to give Cruise the “lead” for fear of it tanking….

  8. CadieBelle says:

Zero chemistry between the two. Tom can be very funny given the right outlet – he was hysterical in Tropic Thunder.

  9. Birdie says:

Surprisingly, this movie doesn’t look like it’s going to suck hard.

  10. Camille says:

I think the movie looks awful and as another poster said, these 2 have zero chemistry together.
