Prince William took Prince George to an Aston Villa match last night

On Wednesday, Prince Harry appeared at a BetterUp summit in San Francisco. Thursday, Archewell confirmed two new Netflix series currently in production. It doesn’t take a conspiracy theorist to draw a line from the Sussexes’ events and news to… Prince William’s rather sudden emergence. William hadn’t been seen or heard from since March 19. Then on Wednesday, he tweeted out a message to a Lioness (a female footballer). On Thursday, we got a rather odd report that Huevo was out drinking in a Norfolk pub with Carole Middleton. Then on Thursday evening, William took Prince George out to an Aston Villa football match. This is actually the first time there’s been a public sighting (with photos) of one of the Wales children since Christmas as well.

The Prince of Wales and Prince George attended an Aston Villa match together in their first public outing since the Princess of Wales’ cancer announcement. Prince William was seen smiling and applauding in the Villa Park stands in Birmingham with his eldest son on Thursday evening.

George sported an Aston Villa scarf as the pair celebrated the club’s 2-1 win against Lille in the first leg of the Europa Conference League quarter-final.

William was seen turning to his son to say something as he applauded Ollie Watkins’ opening goal for the club.

[From The Telegraph]

Somewhat hilariously, I’ve already seen people doubting the authenticity of the photos and videos. I mean, I get it – Kensington Palace’s credibility is in the toilet. The Windsors’ credibility is in the toilet. But this wasn’t a sketchball “trust this grainy video stage by the Sun” situation. William and George were genuinely at this football match, they were photographed widely and they were on camera during the game. There were also just regular people with smartphones who got pics of both George and William behind-the-scenes. If anything, this proves that all of the other “sightings” of William, Kate and Carole were, um, questionable at best.

  1. Brassy Rebel says:

This also proves that no one will ever believe anything the Wales say or do again. That’s entirely on them. But I’m glad to see George is fine. The total disappearance of the kids has been concerning too.

    • Tessa says:

The younger two have not appeared.

    • LookieLou says:

They didnt disappear, they are rarely seen unless there is something to promote (which is the deal they have with the tabs) and the mom has cancer, the most normal thing they did was keep them out the spotlight for a while.

      • Mary Pester says:

@LOOKIELU she does not have cancer!

      • Tisme says:

@lookielou…there are a lot of people that believe she doesn’t have cancer, because they have told lie after lie.
Also, @Mary Pester has a connection who works for the firm…so don’t take it so personally.

      • jemmy says:

@lookielou /Conch Call… like Mary, I don’t believe she has cancer – even the news said cancer was found but it’s no longer there.
I also think there is more stuff going on in the background . Even the RF / Press have not made it easy on them . How can in one breath Kate is said to suffer from cancer and in the same breath have the press increase their vitriol against Harry & Meghan?
Not only that , Meghan was expected to put her life on hold because of Kate’s diagnosis but it was okay for her blood sister, Pippa to go on holidays. Even as other members of the RF were also getting on with their lives (ie Princess Eugenia was seen attending a Fendi AW 2024 fashion show as well as some charity connected to slavery.)
It ‘s rather strange that the BM / RF almost demanded sympathy from the public but that same good will was not extended to Meghan & Harry? Give me a break!
Then there are the reports from DM where it seems Ma Middleton is putting in a reminder to KP/BP about being given titles – all this while Kate is supposedly suffering or recovering from cancer. I would have thought this would be the farthest thing on her mother’s mind.
I don’t think she has/ had cancer . The Cancer card is being used to stop people from asking questions as well as cover up whatever is going on behind closed doors. There ! I said it!!!

      • Steph says:

By her own words, she doesn’t have cancer. She said they found it and removed it. Now she’s on preventative care.
        Kate said this herself.

      • Josie says:

@ Conch Calls I don’t believe she has cancer either. I trust what Mary Pester says over KP who has been likened to North Korea due to all their lies, deceit and fraud.

      • I don’t believe she has cancer it’s just a story to gain sympathy.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Lookielou and Conch Call, conspiracy theory? That’s what you choose to call this when people with critical thinking skills are skeptical of what lying KP is feeding the masses? Okay.

      • Julianna says:

        @lookielou/conch calls

I agree with Mary. I don’t believe she has cancer either. @Jemmy explains it perfectly and said it better than I could have. And yes Carol Middleton using Richard Eden in the press to obtain a set of titles while Khate supposedly has cancer is ironic isn’t it?

Really interesting to have people act like these so called “conspiracies” about Khate have sprung up out of thin air. Comparing this insane circus to the looney bins claiming Meghan has had fake pregnancies is actually the stretch to far if you want to get technical. All KP has done at every step of the way is LIE. And when they get caught in said LIES they have course corrected with a different LIE and SCAM.

KP delivering AI generated photographs AND AI generated videos to the public is not anywhere in likeness to the derangers photoshopping and editing photos and videos of Meghan to compound their lies that HAVE sprung up out of their hatred and continuous smears and lies for the past upteen 6 plus years.

      • Julianna says:

Thank you for pointing that out. It’s the strategy that KP has been using.

      • Lux says:

@Conch Call, I’m with you, and I’m NOT a fan of the Wales. Whether it’s a play on semantics (she doesn’t have cancer “now”—which is called remission unless officially declared “cancer free”) or people actually believe she’s lying…this train of thought is just bizarre to witness. When Harry and Meghan go on the record, we believe them and applaud them for it. When Kate finally goes on the record (as opposed to going through “sources” or leaks or altered photos), we should believe her. She said they were able to remove it but you don’t do preventative chemo if you’re “cancer free.” If you don’t believe them, that’s fine, but it really does begin to, inversely, echo the madness of the H&M haters.

      • Lynn says:

Yeah, the BRF is a cesspit and they’ll do whatever they think they need to do to keep their power intact, without a moment’s concern for truth or ethics. But there’s a line between critical thinking and conspiracy theorizing that it is a very bad idea to cross, and “she doesn’t have cancer” crosses that line. This makes the moonbump creeps look like they have a counterpart in the Sussex camp. Folks have lost the plot.

      • Liz says:

There’s a difference between conspiracies and cynicism. The latter is part of wisdom. There are many very wise posters here who see through the lies and blatant manipulation of the most recent rf drama.

      • goofpuff says:

KP and the Wales been caught lying so many times. I really don’t believe anything they say anymore. I would not put it past them to lie about cancer to save them from the PR disaster of the fake mother’s day photo. its not like they have any morality that would hold them back. They’ve proven that.

    • Darlington says:

Oh dear, now I think Kate has well and truly checked out (by design or organically); she would have had poor George in a suit and tie. . .

      • Conch Call says:

That was not half as funny as you wanted it to be. Jeez, what’s with people here these days? Going full K’anon- she doesnt have cancer! she’s “checked out”- “organically” and now we’re dragging the kids into our “fun” conspiracies too!

Ech. Some people here are no better than the loony people who think Meghan’s kids are fake.

      • Darlington says:

Haha, Conch — you’ve created quite a backstory around my very off-hand comment. I harbor no conspiracies, organic or by design (see what I did there), regarding Kate. This was merely to joke about how George is usually dressed in a suit and tie at sporting events, but happily (and mysteriously), here he isn’t. I can tell you’re itching for more, see what you can do with “mysteriously.” Lol, enjoy.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Conch Call, nice–you ended your post with trying to shame people. It’s not a strategy I would use, but it is one that KP loves.

      • Smythe020 says:

@conchcall, maybe take it down a notch. It’s a discussion, and you’re being insulting and argumentative, again. Signed, one of the “loons.”

    • BeanieBean says:

Also glad to see George was allowed to have a friend along. Being around adults all the time would be tough.

      • Chica says:

He’s even dressed casually instead of his usual ceo gear

      • aftershocks says:

^^ Exactly @Darlington and @Chica. I didn’t pick up on that revealing detail right away! George is dressed more casually and he was able to bring a friend along. Wow! Either George has grown out of his previously reported, “wants to dress like his Pa” phase, or else he’s staying with his Middleton grandparents and they have a more relaxed, hands-off dress code than his stuffy Mum.

    • ales says:

William and George is puzzling. No matter how many times the media tells us otherwise and no matter how much hair bleach is used, George still looks nothing like William.

      • @debbye says:

Personally I see Diana’s brother and QE father and uncle. Both sides of Williams parents

      • aftershocks says:

^^ Nah @Debbye. While there is certainly some visible Spencer in George, IMO, he takes a lot after his Middleton Grandpa, especially his nose and his brown eyes are from the Middleton side. I detect no Windsor, aside from George’s slight knock knees. And blessings be, it looks like George and Louis might keep their thick hair follicles in adulthood, thanks to Grandpa Middleton’s hair genes! 🥳

Oh and BTW @Ales, I doubt that George’s hair is ever bleached. It just gets lightened by the sun in the summer and on tropical vacations.

  2. equality says:

I wonder sometimes if they saw how popular Meghan stayed despite not being seen for a while and thought they could duplicate that by staying out of the public eye.

    • Lolo86lf says:

Although I agree with you that Meghan is popular, she is also hated by many people out there thanks to the media who are making tons of money demonizing her. I believe that deep down William and Kate admire Meghan and Harry and subconsciously try to emulate what they do in a subtle way.

      • Tessa says:

It is propaganda by derangers. The ones who disliked her did so all along.some wanted the wedding canceled

      • LookieLou says:

Only hated by bots and handful of derangers. Only one person had multiple protests and eggs thrown at them multiple times and it isn’t Meghan.

      • jemmy says:

@LookieLou – sorry to burst your bubble. William and Kate ” hate” Meghan for different reasons

William – because he thinks Meghan stole Harry from being under his control plus she gets more attention than he does plus he may secretly fancy her … He sees her as being a clog in the wheel in so far as his plans to be popular in the US is concerned & has done everything to humiliate , dehumanise and trash her reputation
William is also envious of Harry for marrying a woman who is more intelligent , resourceful and perhaps better suited to being the wife of the monarch. William wishes he had a wife like Meghan.

Kate- absolutely is envious of Meghan because Harry & Meghan’s love story and relationship shows up what Kate & William do not have in their marriage. She is also aware of the fact that William had a crush on Meghan before she became Harry’s Girlfriend.

      • aftershocks says:

@LOLO86LF, I don’t see any evidence that either of the WanKs admire Meghan or Harry. They totally envy the Sussexes and try to emulate them. That has nothing to do with admiration, though.

    • BeanieBean says:

Meghan’s ‘not seen for a while’ because she doesn’t gave a ‘job’ where’s she’s supposed to be seen. That is Kate’s job. And Kate (& William) have always disappeared for huge chunks of time, this is not some popularity ploy on their part.

  3. First comment says:

Yeah, it’s real .. apparently, he went to the match with George and Rose’s son? Anyway, this proves that they know how to take a real picture where we can see both faces clearly..

    • GuestWho says:

I thought it was her son for a moment too, but (I think) he has curlier hair. One of the coronation page boys though.

      • aftershocks says:

If it’s one of the coronation pageboys, could it be one of Camzilla’s grandkids? 😯

    • Smart&Messy says:

It also made me a bit sorry for George and the other kids. It must be so weird, isolating and annoying that people automatically whip out their phones to record you.

And yeah, the pub outing never happened or the owner closed it down for Peg so he can negotiate with Carole. She is probably not allowed to set foot in their castles, with Sandringham nearby, so they had to get creative.

    • Nic919 says:

The boy next to George is not Oliver chomondoley. There are pics of Oliver from the coronation balcony and he has curly hair and is taller.

This is likely a school friend.

      • Jais says:

In regards to this, I keep seeing posts on Twitter that it’s Rose’s son. Saw a screenshot of the caption from the coronation. And I remember at the time of the coronation, this was a whole thing bc the caption caused confusion bc it was mislabeled. So I’m pretty sure the kid at the game is not Rose’s son? And I’m really not into the way people online keep insisting it is. I don’t know who this kid is but now his face is all over the place with people talking about him. The only ones I actually feel for are the kids bc it must suck to find friends but then your friends get analyzed too.

      • aftershocks says:

Yep @Nic919, that’s what I thought. A school friend of George’s seems more likely.

    • BeanieBean says:

Also note the cell phones out in that one picture: the man at the table at the back has his phone out, the woman at the front has hers out, and then there’s the phone from whoever held their phone up. As that tweet points out, had W&K been at that farm shop, this is what we would have seen in the background, people with their phones out taking photos of them.

  4. Anna M says:

His brother was in a work conference in San Francisco yesterday, and so like clockwork, he had to be seen out there too with his only friend, his son. He’s really trying to keep up with Harry on the one sided competition. I think he’d have quit his royal duties to move to CA to compete with Harry if he could, but he can’t being the heir to the throne. As Harry stated to Oprah, he’s stuck. He maybe realizing just how lucky Harry is due to birth order, gotta be frustrating.

  5. Zapp Brannigan says:

Awful lot of people in that stadium, would they really risk bringing back all kinds of germs to an immunity compromised wife that is receiving preventive cancer care? Way to prove you either
A- don’t live with her or B- don’t care for her William, well done.

    • Becks1 says:

Well, Camilla was out and about during all of Charles’ treatments and while we can speculate how much time they live apart, we have also fairly regularly seen them together.

So maybe it is just B? None of these people actually care about the other ones?

      • Proud Mary says:

But I saw royalist using that as an excuse for why we hadn’t seen William and the Kids at Easter: to protect Kate.

      • Becks1 says:

@ProudMary oh I’m sure they’ll use any excuse to explain why William hasn’t done more than 2 dozen events in 2024 (that’s me being generous). but it just seems to me that this family does not have the same concerns about immunocompromised family members that other people would have. Is that because they all live very separate lives, or because they just don’t care?

      • BeanieBean says:

@Becks1: agreed. We certainly saw that during the pandemic, out & about, frequently unmasked. No way should TQ have gotten COVID! They should have taken better care. Or Charles, for that matter. And he had it twice? Camilla, too? And Billy Boy, of course.

    • Betsy says:

I don’t necessarily believe that Kate has cancer but I have a friend who is two years into cancer treatment and she was never asked to be careful about germs. It must be on something of a case by case basis, type of cancer, type of chemo, etc.

      • liz says:

It is absolutely case by case. My sister has been in treatment for a rare cancer for the last 6 years. She still works full-time in an art museum – back of house, so limited contact with the public, but in a shared office. She has a 14 year old son. He goes to school, spends time with his friends, plays sports . . . They just went to Disney last month – it was supposed to be my nephew’s 10th birthday trip, but the pandemic and other things meant it was delayed.

She wears a mask when she thinks it’s necessary, and doesn’t get on airplanes anymore (they drove 1000 miles to get to our father’s funeral). She and her doctors know what’s safe for her and what isn’t. She also doesn’t want to limit her son’s life any more than is absolutely necessary.

  6. Becks1 says:

Is this why he put out that tweet yesterday about the retiring Lioness, so he could attend this game without being accused of ignoring the women’s team again? (I know he’s put out similar tweets before but this timing feels off.)

Anyway, looks like George might have brought a friend with him? And nice that William let him wear the AV scarf, and it looks like he didn’t force him into a suit.

wonder if they took the helicopter to this game?

    • Amy Bee says:

Oh they definitely took the helicopter to that game. Aston Villa is in Birmingham.

      • M says:

Traveling over 100 miles for footie (if they were at Anmer), but he can’t be bothered to do an event. POS.

      • Becks1 says:

Yes! Regardless of whether they came from Windsor, Norfolk or London, it would have been a bit of a trek for William, too far for him to go by car, poor sausage.

Remember the time he took the helicopter to Birmingham and made Kate take the train and the RRs acted like that was totally normal, LOL.

      • Jais says:

Are we sure this won’t somehow count as a work event? Just saying maybe it’ll get added to the CC?

      • Becks1 says:

@Jais I would not be surprised at all if they added it, LOL.

    • Sid says:

I recall that during the kerfluffle over young George wearing a full suit to previous matches, it was said that Willileaks wanted to let the kid wear a jersey and slacks but Mrs. Wails was the one who wanted him dressed up. And I find it believable mainly because she is the one who has always seemed desperate to make sure she and her kids are seen as royal and always uber put together and formal. It also fits into why I always get the impression that the kids generally appear more relaxed around him than her but that is a whole other topic.

      • Becks1 says:

Yup, my thoughts exactly! now one could argue the difference here is that William isn’t working, and when they attended some of those other matches it was a work event for him – but still, I never saw the harm in letting a child wear a soccer kit to a soccer game. I like his scarf here (even though I don’t like Villa, go Spurs!)

      • Smart&Messy says:

It is obvious even to outsiders that it is Kate who insists on formal wear and micromanaged behavior on outings. The reason why I think William approaches it differently is his blue blood. He doesn’t feel like he or his offspring have anything to prove when it comes to class. So he thinks George can wear a Tshirt or eat pizza at a football match and the world will still think he is the chosen one. Peg knows this from experience. Kate, on the other hand, is looked down on by Williams’s peers and is only idolized by the wider British audience until the press props her up and says that she walks on water. The latter can change.

      • rosa mwemaid says:

I always thought it was part of Kate’s insecurity, she’s not to the manor born.

      • Nic919 says:

Kate started a whole hate campaign over kids wearing tights. So yeah the excessive formality is from the insecure English middle class woman.

  7. Melissa says:

It could just be the photo selection but George looks withdrawn and subdued in all of these, at least compared to pictures from previous football outings.

    • MoBiMom says:

      I was thinking the same…..

    • Avonan says:

Agree, @Melissa. But I’m very relieved to see a non photo-manipulated George.

    • EasternViolet says:

Yes… this is not giving me “kid happy to be at a football match with dad”.

      • Anna M says:

@Eastern Violet, I agree! The young boy is aging fast and looks miserable. I hope he gets to be a child now even if he’s a future heir to the throne.

    • Katy says:

Can you imagine being raised by a dad with so much unaddressed generational trauma? It must be like eating poison with every meal. How could you possibly grow up optimistic or joyful with the world being explained to you by a man like William?

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Katy, then add in having a mom who, IMO, was groomed throughout her life to snag that fk. Can you imagine these kids’ lives?

    • Lorelei says:

I always think that George looks like he has such sad eyes, but I know that could totally just be me projecting because I know so much about the poor kid’s life.

    • TybeeLucille says:

There is a video somewhere of George and Peggers at the game. They are standing in applause but Peggers is leaning and talking to G with a snarling grimace. It’s the actual video and body language that shows it and I instantly recoiled in my spirit because I wanted him to stop snarling at his little boy.

  8. Mslove says:

Peg has time for football games, but no time for work? Lazy.

  9. Amy Bee says:

So I guess this puts the end to press saying that royals can’t go anywhere or do anything while the King and Kate are sick, right?

    • Becks1 says:

And it certainly should end the press about anyone related in any way shape or form to Charles or Kate doing anything fun.

      • Lorelei says:

The moment that Kate included “and spirit” in the video when she was talking about how she needed time for her body and mind to heal, I immediately thought that she very purposefully put that word in there to preemptively explain why she might pop up at Wimbledon, for example, but still not work at all.
Because she needs to do things that are good for her spirit! Work is not.

I feel horrible saying this about someone who most likely has cancer, but we’ve seen how Kate operates for too many years and imo there’s no way she won’t use this to her advantage.

  10. Tessa says:

William should bring his other children to events as well. It would be good for all of them not just George

    • SURE says:

Yeah, strange not to see the other two children there as well.

    • Elle says:

He did bring Rose Handbury’s son! And it seams just the older twin, the one who participated in the coronation. How can you play favourites with twins and bring only one?! And also, bringing him was a clear rebuttal to the rumour: see, we’re family friends not lovers

      • SURE says:

Don’t know who that boy is but he’s not R’s son. R’s son has curly hair while this boy’s hair is straight- check Getty’s photos of the pages from KFC’s coronation.

      • BayTampaBay says:

“Lord Oliver Cholmondeley was a page of honour at the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla on 6 May 2023”

Lord Oliver Cholmondeley is the YOUNGER twin son.

    • Becks1 says:

It would be nice to see him bring charlotte to a women’s AV game, after he just tweeted about villa to the retiring lioness who still plays for villa.

I mean I think he could bring all the kids to all the events (we make a point of having our boys watch women’s sporting events), but if he is going to bring one a time……

      • rosa mwemaid says:

You could always put it down to favouritism for the heir, as William had as a child, the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree.

    • Laura D says:

I can’t believe I’m going to do this but, I am! I really don’t have a problem with William taking just George to see the Villa. We don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. Charlotte might not like football and Louis may still be a little young to sit though a whole match without becoming bored and fidgety. I know it’s a while ago but, Charlotte did attend the Commonwealth Games with her parents and without her siblings. She also attended Wimbledon with George, William and Kate.

The other two are going to be in the spotlight soon enough and I’m more than happy for them to stay in the background for as long as possible. The less opportunities the media has to build a narrative around them the better.

      • Becks1 says:

Charlotte attended the Birmingham games because there was a lot of backlash after they brought George to one or two prominent sporting events (Wimbledon may have been one of them) and did not include charlotte. Then they brought her to the Birmingham games in response.

      • Tessa says:

Sometimes it’s just a matter of having family time going to a game with dad.

      • Laura D says:

@Becks1 – sorry but, we’re going to have to agree to disagree on this one. I’ll admit I wasn’t aware of the backlash about George going to more prominent events than Charlotte but, I would query where the “backlash” originated. I would also argue that Charlotte (being a couple of years younger) may not have been ready for the amount of attention that she would receive at those events.

Regardless of what I think of their parents I’m really uncomfortable with people demanding the children should be seen. I hated it when the press were demanding that Louis should do the Christmas walk and was disappointed that W&K appeared to cave in. We’ve seen what happens when the “Spares” are thrown into the spotlight and I honestly believe the longer those kids are shielded from the spotlight the better.

      • Becks1 says:

@LauraD the timing absolutely fits with it being a response to the backlash though, especially as we know KP closely tracks what is being said on social media. And it could have been an age thing, but they took George to the Euro finals in 2021, and to a big rugby match in 2022, and then did not take Charlotte when the England women’s team was in the Euro finals in 2022 – and there was backlash, and then all of a sudden she appeared at the Birmingham games, which was for a longer period of time and involved staged photos etc.

I agree that people demanding to see the children is uncomfortable, and I’m not one of those who thinks its “weird” we haven’t seen the Wales children since December since they ARE just children – but we can’t overlook that the Waleses absolutely use their children for PR shields and will bring them out when the press demands they do so.

      • Laura D says:

Thanks @Becks1 I see where you’re coming from now. 🙂 And yes you’re right I remember the “outcry” about the Euros and so the timing does make sense. And yes you’re right (again) about the parents shameless use of those children when they need positive PR.

I’ll now go back to just silently nodding in agreement at your comments from behind my computer screen. 🙂

    • Cessily says:

Peggy showed up in public because his brother is working and making news, he added the child as cover for him to hide behind and not have to answer any questions the public has a right to ask. The playbook that KP follows needs some updating because we can see the Hail Marys coming every single time now.. (Hail Marys are when all else fails, collect the kid/s from the nanny to take out in public as cover).

  11. Nubia says:

I really dont get what it does for them to pop up when the Sussexes do,maybe I am naive? Does it really give a surge in their popularity, does it make them any more interesting? It seems futile, whoever will support either Sussex or the Wales will remain the same surely.

    • Anna M says:

They have to pop up whenever the Sussexes do because they feel like they have to keep up with H & M so that they are not in the shadow of the dynamic duo of Montecito 😂

      • rosa mwemaid says:

But Harry and Meghan get criticised for everything they do. The recent hospital trip, Meghan was praised in one story and criticised in three or four others in the same comic. Signing photos, wearing a mask, can’t remember the rest. I suppose they would call it balance, but they would never criticise Kate for doing the same

  12. Tulipworthy says:

My nice comment of the day: George is a cute kid.

    • Lorelei says:

So cute! I’ve always loved George.
And he is TALL! My son is, too, so I’m used to people commenting on it, but George is what, only 10? and looks like he’ll be surpassing William in height within a few years. It’s very noticeable in that BTS photo taken in the clubhouse or wherever they are.

  13. Sandy says:

I am dying at the.hashtags in that tweet! Hahaha amazing. But yes, it just goes to show how ridiculous the other “sightings” were.

  14. Mario says:

Not for nothing, when my dad took his sons somewhere, he also took his daughters, and vice-versa. We all shared and/or supported both mom and dad’s and each other’s interests growing up and that helped us both figure out our own AND learn how to enjoy and be excited about things other people love, not because they served us, but because it was a joy to watch people we loved experienced happiness.

All of that to say, it always bugs me we hardly (if ever?) see William take his daughter to a men’s soccer game or his sons to a women’s game (which Will couldn’t be bothered to attend most of, despite his role). I believe they take Charlotte to tennis games (which Kate loves) and so forth.

It’s gendered, first off (ugh) and it’s confining to boot. At a young age, they already have so many roles and lanes to stay in, why these? Is the same applied to who learns to cook? Clean? Decorate? Paint? Let them be who they are—and that starts by exposing children to as many things as possible and letting them figure out who they are.

Not saying one-on-one time with mom and or dad isn’t super valuable, nor that specific interests don’t emerge as you get older, but these patterns go beyond that and seemingly have since they were born.

Also: that skill about learning to do and go to other things you have no interest in, because someone you love does, and enjoying yourself solely because they are (or being polite and content if you can’t)? That’s an essential life skill that improves your relationships with your siblings and future girl/boyfriends and spouse. The Windsors could absolutely use that skill.

(Note how much joy H&M take in each other’s interests and in just showing up to support the other’s interests vs. everyone else working in the BRF.)

    • SussexWatcher says:

Unfortunately that’s all wishful thinking when it comes to these two terrible parents. Treat the “spares” the same as the heir? Never! George is special and we’ll spend his entire life telling and treating him so. Try not to confine them to gender roles?! Nope – you get in your lane, George and Louis (no women’s soccer for you!) and you put on a dress and get in your lane, Charlotte. Encourage them to be broad-minded and learn about things beyond their own interests? Now how on earth could Huevo and Keen do this for their children when they don’t/cant/won’t do it for themselves.

Your parents sound wonderful but don’t hold your breath that the Wailses would do any of that.

    • HeatherC says:

It could be just a matter of interests. I went to many Buffalo Bills (American football) games with my dad from the time I was 8 until he passed. My brother rarely went with us. He didn’t (still doesn’t) enjoy football enough to do much more than watch it on TV, never mind attend a snow game! But he and Dad shared basketball, we all shared hockey, mom and bro loved camping and hiking, so they did that. Maybe Charlotte doesn’t enjoy attending soccer (football) games. I can’t look too deeply into this, really.

  15. Tessa says:

Parents make an effort to bring all their children places. It would do good for the other children’s morale if William takes them all to events . All would feel special not just george

    • sunny says:

I do wonder if he’s doing that and we just haven’t seen it? I believe one on one time with a parent is so invaluable especially if you come from a big family. Sometimes this site criticizes how differently they treat George than the others but I do wonder if yes, they as parents do individual things with the kids but we only see more coverage of george’s outings because he is the heir?

I’m really glad we’ve seen so little of the kids lately. For too long, whenever they are flailing, Willnot and Cannot trot them out for good press. The fact that they’ve been kept out of sight lately, means someone over there is thinking about keeping them away from the press during a scary time. That is actually a good thing. I hope they use the kids less in the future but I think this is probably just a temporary reprieve and not a change in policy.

      • SussexWatcher says:

I seriously doubt it, Sunny. Pictures of the children are all that sell about this couple (before Kate’s video) so I doubt there are lots of outings for C and L that we just don’t see because the press isn’t interested in it. Plus, the parents constantly use their children to boost their own image or ratings – like we’ve seen with George out at soccer right after Harry and Meghan are getting press. It’s unlikely that William/Kate suddenly care about their privacy.

  16. And all it took was Harry being out at an event and then the Netflix announcement yesterday.

    • SURE says:

      H works = W shows up
      H doesn’t work = W doesn’t show up

      • HeatherC says:

H is photographed/sighted working = William makes sure he is photographed as well.

Unlike William, Harry does a lot of work off screen. He has a real job.

  17. Interested Gawker says:

It’s heartening to see Prince George after being absent from public view for so long. I hope his siblings are doing well.

Perhaps this paves the way for normalcy and the reappearance of the Princess of Wales.

    • Tessa says:

I see families bringing children boys and girls to baseball games
Hockey and football. The dad’s being both their sons and daughters. It is a way to more family bonding.

      • HeatherC says:

I agree. I’m in my mid forties now, I lost my dad to cancer almost 4 years ago, but the memories of American football games including tailgating parties is something I look back on and love.

    • Lorelei says:

@InterestedGawker, totally agree with all of this 👏

    • Liz says:

IG – I think it’s paving the way for solo appearances of William and the kids.

  18. aquarius64 says:

There’s chatter that the kids are missing and out comes George. I think it’s a way to assure the public the succession is secure.

    • Tessa says:

That’s sad in a way. Dad’s should take their children and have fun not worried about succession.

      • Lorelei says:

@Tessa, it’s possible that William is doing both at the same time. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.
Either way, the kids have fun when they get to attend a game like this, even if we know W&K are using it to try and send some message to the public.

    • Smart&Messy says:

I’m not attacking you, just saying that in general, I find this secure succession talk so stupid. How the nation is relieved that the line of succession is secure. There are like 500 people in the line of succession. I’m sure they will always find a Windsor to be the monarch. And if the precious line of succession (of special white people with average intelligence) crumbles, I’m sure the same sun will rise over the UK the next day.

      • MissF says:

Yes, there are scads of people in the merry house of Windsor for succession, however stating they are of average intelligence is a big stretch. Boarding on being cretins seems more apt.

      • Feeshalori says:

No attack from me either, but it would be good to see all the kids just to be assured of their well-being without worrying about their place in the succession.

    • WiththeAmerican says:

The best way to actually achieve that would be for William to do some work. I mean, his father is doing work with cancer. William’s weird absences and even Kates complete vanishing act do not instill confidence.

It might not be fair, but then it’s also not “fair” that they have huge taxpayer funded castles, cars, servants and hundreds of millions of tax free pounds at their disposal. The requirement is simply to be seen. Even when sick.

  19. Angied says:

My question is look how dark George’s hair is. Which makes me think if all of the children hair was lightened in those photos to get the blond or near blond look by Photoshop.

    • Smart&Messy says:

Why would they do that? I mean the kids are White enough, no?

      • WiththeAmerican says:

Oh, they have definitely worked hard to show their kids hair as blonde including highlights at very young ages and photoshopping it. Maybe that’s Kate’s thing so they look more like Diana and William than her side, IDK, but that photo with the queen was giving Aryan KKK vibes with the photoshopped blonde hair.

And before anyone tries to tell me that dark brown hair like Charlotte had at birth and for her first few years magically lightens “in the sun” to near blonde, it doesn’t.

      • Becks1 says:

My issue isn’t the lightening in the sun – I have dark brown hair that always lightened to near blonde in the summers, as a result of chlorine and sun and spending my entire life at the pool (thanks swim team!) My younger son now has that kind of ashy blonde hair that turns blonder in the summer.

So yes, it absolutely can happen. George’s hair makes sense if he hasn’t been in the sun for extended periods of time for months.

But Charlotte’s hair definitely looks more like highlights to me, she goes from darker hair at Christmas to almost completely blonde at her bday pics in May and that just doesn’t hold up for me. that doesn’t seem to be the natural lightening that you might expect.

      • KC says:

@WithTheAmerican I’m so sorry to disappoint you, but I was born with the same hair color as Charlotte (solidly brown) then around the age of 2-3 it lightened to blonde/reddish blonde then changed to dark blonde with lighter streaks around middle school. It darkened to light- medium brown with blonde and red streaks by the time I was in high school.

I’m not saying they don’t dye their kids hair, but it’s definitely possible for Charlotte’s hair color to naturally change the way it has.

      • WiththeAmerican says:

Right, I know it can happen with some peoples hair. But it didn’t happen with Charlottes hair for so many years and then suddenly it did. That’s why it doesn’t seem natural.

      • Dee says:

You could also see that the highlights in her hair were in chunks and not all over, which happens in the sun, and this became more apparent when they were growing out.

      • aftershocks says:

I totally agree with how @Becks1 views the ‘hair color’ changes. It’s the sun mostly lightening their hair in the summer and during tropical vacations. Charlotte’s hair has obviously received highlights by other methods, on occasion, as evidenced in some photos of her over the years.

  20. Sunday says:

I actually don’t think this is (exclusively) in retaliation to Harry and Meghan living their lives, I think this is in response to the “Carole and Will at the pub” lie floated by Eden for team Middleton.

  21. Over it says:

So if it’s okay for William to leave his sick wife to attend a football match, i don’t want to hear one word from any one of those demented royal reporters or commentators or any of those gutter rats associated with them telling me how Meghan needs to reduce her breathing because Kate cancer . As we can all clearly see Kate husband doesn’t look too distraught about his wove Health issues

  22. Jas says:

I feel bad for George. He seems to be a fairly reserved and sensitive kid so being stared at must be rough. He doesn’t look very happy in these photos.

    • Snuffles says:

George always looks so sad and uncomfortable. I don’t think he has the temperament to be King. Charlotte has potential though.

    • QuiteContrary says:

      I feel the same way.

It would be good for those kids — and for England — if the monarchy was abolished.

  23. Harper says:

The outing could be a reaction to Harry, but we all know Willy loves sports…half of his royal work is visiting behind the scenes at this stadium, or chatting with these players about mental health, or downing booze at a pub with another player, or going to the funeral of a former star player, or tweeting about sports. Sports, sports, sports. It’s the only way they can get him to come out. Willy should abdicate and become a sports talking head. According to Twitter the Duke of Gloucester is ready to step up and stand in for the lazy one.

  24. Deneph says:

I’m just glad they don’t have kid dressed in a suit.

  25. LOLikes says:

Yeah we probably won’t see Charlotte until Prince Harry brings out Lilibeth. Then we’ll see Charlotte with blue contacts and definitely blonde hair. And this is the future of King PWT. He will only appear when he wants to, sporting events, celebrity events, whatever. King Wishy Washy William 👑

  26. Mary Pester says:

Look at me serfs LOOK AT ME. I’m stood up so you can see Me, look, look up here and, oh, oh yes, George is here as well, you know my new human shield from nasty comments, so LOOK AT ME. OOOOO, random man I can talk to, Hello serf, look at me, do you know who I am? “.
,” NO and I don’t bloody care, sit down I’m trying to watch the match and your solar panel is blinding me with its glare!

  27. tamsin says:

I think George is aware of the press now and may be aware of what’s being written. I’m the boy isn’t in a suit and can sport some the team colours, and is with a friend. He looks wary and sober in all the pics, though.

  28. Julianna says:

So is that boy Rose’s son? I have looked up the coronation and find the page boys name confusing. Some say Oliver Cholemondelay is the blond curly haired kid and then many others say he is the child next to William on the balcony. Is anyone on Rose Instagram that can confirm who Oliver really is. I think they purposefully named the children incorrectly in the news articles.

And I am absolutely disgusted by Williams latest WFH stunt. It almost confirms my thoughts on a lot of previous videos that Huevo and Bones did were AI generated. I said previously I found a video of Kate speaking (not LIVE) that I am nearly 100% sure is also AI generated. And this was well before she “disappeared” or told everyone she supposedly had cancer. The Pegginator is truly the laziest, nastiest human being ever.

He is out and about with George because Harry is out. Also, he is doing it in response to people being concerned if the kids were actually OK. And because he wants to be seen as dad of the year 🙄. Funny my phone immediately popped that eye roll emoji after I wrote that sentence for me so I included it.

And if this lazy, disgusting man can show up with celebrities and watch football games with his precious heir then why can’t he “work”?????

    • Tessa says:

He wants to show that he produced a male heir to the throne. Never mind the other children. Show off the heir

  29. vpd4 says:

    George does not look happy.

  30. Kelly says:

Another website claimed he had one of Rose Hanbury’s boys with him.

  31. JudyB says:

At least he did not make the kid wear a suit and tie this time.

How is it that William manages to show up everywhere but at church?
