Lady Gaga breaks Spotify record with just 3 new songs, as she reveals Mayhem tracklist

We’re now down to just 15 days (but who’s counting) until Lady Gaga unleashes Mayhem on us, huzzah! She’s released three songs from the album so far: “Die With a Smile” in August (the Bruno Mars duet we didn’t even know was part of LG7 until recently), “Disease” back in October, and “Abracadabra,” which debuted at the Grammys this month. Only three new songs, yet they were enough to propel Gaga to another milestone, becoming Spotify’s female artist with the most monthly listeners, a whopping 123,736,959. So how much is that number gonna skyrocket after the full album drops on March 7?! Spotify confirmed the news of Gaga’s record-breaking status right on the heels of Mother Monster herself revealing the official Mayhem tracklist:

Lady Gaga proved to be a master magician earlier this month with the release of her new single “Abracadabra,” and for her next trick, she’s making her global audience reappear.

On Tuesday (Feb. 18), Gaga officially surpassed Ariana Grande’s record as the female artist with the most monthly listeners in the history of Spotify. At press time, Gaga currently holds 123,736,959 monthly listeners on the app, with only two other artists (Bruno Mars and The Weeknd) garnering more listeners. Grande nabbed the all-time record for the female artist with the most monthly listeners on the app back in December, when she surpassed Taylor Swift’s previous record of 116 million listeners.

The news comes as Gaga and Mars’ duet “Die With a Smile” continues to dominate the charts. The song falls to No. 4 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 after previously holding the top spot for five weeks; Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” “Luther” and “TV Off” ascend to Nos. 1-3, respectively, after the rapper’s record-breaking Super Bowl Halftime Show performance. Meanwhile, “Abracadabra” came in at No. 29 on last week’s Hot 100, while debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart.

Both “Die With a Smile” and “Abracadabra” come off of Gaga’s highly anticipated new album, Mayhem, due out March 7 via Interscope. In an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, Gaga revealed the full tracklist for the new album, including a new collaboration with French producer Gesaffelstein on “Killah.”

Meanwhile, Saturday Night Live also announced on Tuesday that Gaga would be pulling double duty on its March 8 episode, serving as both host and musical guest. Gaga helped celebrate the iconic show’s 50th anniversary over the weekend, when she teamed up with former cast member Andy Samberg to perform the show’s iconic musical number, “D-ck in a Box,” and also delivered “Shallow” solo.

Oh my Gaga, we’re getting another SNL double act! I thought she did a great job when she performed double duty back in the ARTPOP days. (Sidenote: how was that 10 years ago?!?) Anyway, everything’s coming up Gaga and I couldn’t be more excited. Actually, if we’re being honest, I’m not all that jazzed that the Lady seems committed to making this her Gaga with a Dragon Tattoo era. You know I love my Gaga! But the wig she’s been sporting since the Grammys does not feel edgy in 2025, and I don’t think it pairs well with the bleached eyebrows. I’d take that shaggy wig she wears on the Mayhem album cover in a heartbeat over this other one. Then again, I’m not the award winning pop star worth a $900 million prenup (deep sigh)… And speaking of, I don’t think a wedding will be happening anytime soon, given how booked and busy she is. I guess we’ll have to wait for another foreign political leader to break the next update in Gaga matrimony news.

Now, let the Mayhem begin! And check out the tracklist here.
