Reality mom Kate Gosselin turned heads on a well documented night out with her hairstylist in New York over the weekend. The mother of eight sported shorter, still cheap-looking hair extensions and a mini skirt paired with a long black cardigan. According to Kate’s hairdresser, she was the belle of the club and was checked out by plenty of guys. Maybe they recognized her but were confused that she wasn’t sporting trademark beaver ‘do. He claims that Kate isn’t ready to date yet, although she will be concentrating on her appearance and premiering a new fug hairstyle every month. Can’t wait to see that. (eyeroll) That said, it’s nice to hear some of the positive things that Kate’s stylist says about her and at least the abrasive, entitled woman has someone in her corner:

Kate’s hairdresser and close friend, hair stylist Ted Gibson, who owns salons in New York and Washington DC [says]

“From being out with her she is getting much more attention with her new long hair,” Ted tells RadarOnline.com. “She is a gorgeous woman, she has a great body, a great personality and great hair and I think she looks amazing. Guys who are young are going after her. When we were out guys were checking her out. She doesn’t pay any attention to the guys though. Kate is really just concentrating on who she is and the kids.”

Kate received a lot of attention for her previous haircut – both good and bad – so what made her change it up and go from short to long?

“It just kind of made sense that we would change it up a little bit and she was ready for it,” Ted explains. “She has been happy from day one with her hair. Any time a woman changes her hair it takes a few days to adjust to it. By changing her hair it was an adjustment to deal with but she loved it from the beginning. She did not hate her hair.”

And most importantly to the devoted mom, “Her kids love her hair,” Ted says. “Kate is able to do different things with her hair, now she has versatility.”

And shattering the impression that many got of Kate from watching her hit show Jon and Kate Plus 8, Ted says of his friend, “I text and email her all the time, she is not full of herself, she is down to earth, she is funny. She’s a remarkable woman, she loves beauty and always takes care with her hair and makeup and clothes…

According to Ted we can expect to see more transformations as Kate continues to grow and increase her self confidence, “She’s coming back in every month to the salon, and we’re going to make sure we keep the extensions healthy, put new ones in, re-touch the color. You’ll see another new hairstyle next month.”

Gibson says that Kate “never really mentions Jon” and adds that he’s “glad to be a part of the re-creation of Kate Gosselin and this has been a tough time in her life.”

In regards to Jon, we may soon be seeing more of the bloated man-boy. Both FoxNews and E! Online are reporting that Jon could be back on television soon in an attempt to both earn some much-needed money and get TLC to drop their breach of contract lawsuit against him. We heard last week that Jon was offering to let TLC film his children again, and now he could be willing to invite the cameras back to film his pitiful daily life. I watched some of the final episode of Jon & Kate and Jon was truly an a** to his kids. He made the older twins, Mady and Cara, stay home and miss a big outing to the fire station with the younger kids for a minor issue. Maybe he’ll try and behave himself if he’s being filmed again, but I doubt it. Guys like that rarely change. Oh, and Jon’s in Maui, Hawaii now. I wonder how he’s affording it.
