People: Princess Kate is ‘very much seen as a player at the center of team Windsor’

Before King Charles acceded to the throne, he spent years, if not decades, briefing the British media about what changes he would make as king, what he would do differently about public events and politics and who was allowed on the fakakta balcony. Charles planned, plotted and schemed for a good two decades before his mother’s passing in 2022. But things definitely got ramped up in the last two years of QEII’s life, and we now know that Charles was basically the regent in everything but name. The briefings and schemes grew more serious, and yet Charles still wasn’t ready when it finally happened. Anyway, I bring that up because… how the worm turns. Now Charles’s heir is the one plotting and scheming. Now it’s Prince William acting like he’ll be king very soon. What’s even worse is that William is only interested in the trappings and PR aspect of being king – it’s been clear for some time that William and Kate have a childlike understanding of what the “jobs” of king and queen entail. Speaking of the PR, People Magazine has devoted a special cover story to “the future king and future queen.” It looks like People’s editors are disgusted by William’s beard situation too, because they’ll be damned if they’ll use a recent photo of him on their cover.

Prince William is destined to one day wear the crown, with wife Kate Middleton at his side — but what kind of king will he be? PEOPLE William & Kate: Future King and Queen, out May 23, takes a closer look at the royal couple’s path to the throne and the royal roles they’re preparing to shape together.

When Prince William, 42, succeeds his father, King Charles, he will become sovereign of the United Kingdom and 14 Commonwealth realms, with Princess Kate, 43, as a steadfast and loving partner. But after Buckingham Palace’s stunning February 2024 announcement that the 76-year-old King was undergoing cancer treatment, the next chapter has come into sharper focus. “They have been preparing for their future roles sooner than they would have expected,” says royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith.

When the time comes for William and Kate to become king and queen, they’re expected to bring a new generation’s energy, as well as the empathy, family focus and commitment to the crown that they demonstrate now.

William and Kate reflect millennial values by using technology and social media to connect with younger generations. They openly prioritize mental health, family wellness and work-life balance — bringing a fresh honesty to royal life. Their focus on issues like climate change, homelessness and child welfare shows a generation committed to real, hands-on change.

While balancing royal duties, they raise their children with a sense of normalcy and prepare them for the future. Their practical approach respects tradition but pushes to modernize the monarchy. Above all, William and Kate lead with a service-first mindset, using their platform to make a positive difference, true to the spirit of their millennial generation.

“The Waleses have gone to great lengths to provide their three children with as normal a childhood as possible… But they’ve also long been installing a broader sense of duty,” former PEOPLE senior writer Richard Jerome writes in “William & Catherine: A Millennial Monarchy” in the new issue. Illustrating that balance, Jerome recounts a poignant moment from December 2023, when Kate brought her children to a baby bank near their home in Windsor. “You’re the volunteers for this evening,” she told them, as they sorted clothes and toys for families in need.

“At the end of their shift, she put her arm around George and said, ‘You can see how rewarding this kind of work is, knowing you are helping out others,’ ” Jerome writes — a quiet but powerful lesson in service.

Kate has emerged as the most popular member of the royal family — and one who wields great influence.

“She takes things seriously — and thank goodness for that,” says a source close to the royal household. Adds Simon Lewis, former Buckingham Palace communications chief: “She’s very much seen as a player at the center of team Windsor.”

Kate has developed a toughness behind the scenes as she supports her husband. “She has this public image of being nice and smiley,” royal author Valentine Low says. “But she is actually strong-minded, strong-willed and prepared to fight for what she wants and what she thinks is right.”

[From People]

The way I know this came from Kensington Palace’s workshop is because only William’s office gets away with this telling-but-not-showing. “Above all, William and Kate lead with a service-first mindset, using their platform to make a positive difference, true to the spirit of their millennial generation.” The heir goes to football matches while Kate wanders around the rural splendor of the vast real estate holdings of the monarchy. They have never put “service” as their first, second, third or even fourth priority. As for what Valentine Low says about Kate… yeah, I absolutely believe that she’s not “nice and smiley” behind closed doors. I don’t think she’s strong-minded, though. I think she’s a small-minded and manipulative Karen. “Prepared to fight for what she wants” = she will fight for her right to barely lift a finger.

I have plenty to say about this but I’m afraid I have to go away and vomit …

    • I’m wondering about this”great influence “ that Can’t has? When did she get it and why? I have my theory and it involves covering things up.

      • Eurydice says:

I think she has a lot of influence. She got rid of Harry and Meghan, she’s created a life of “no service” for herself and has made everyone accept it, her plan of becoming queen is still viable even though she and William hate each other. And maybe she can’t wear all the tiaras now, but she just has to wait a few years. She’s just not an influence for good.

      • Well I don’t think it was just she who got rid of Harry and Meg that was a group effort. She just went along with it wholeheartedly. I think the “influence” really is another word for something else. Something she has at her disposal that she got just two years ago.

      • convict says:

I see it both ways. Kate has influence over the media. We have to accept that she draws in the clicks because of what she wears and is still relatively young. In another few short years she will be entering menopause, if she hasn’t already started. Her looks will fade and along with it, any influence regarding her appearance.

But Kate and her mother learned early on how to trap Willy-boy. They’ve played the media for years, including how to force him back to her after the big split in 2007. That is her biggest pull to influence. How can he divorce her after her scare with the Big C?

      • Eurydice says:

@Susan Collins – of course, it wasn’t just her alone, but she was right in the thick of it. And I agree about “something” being at her disposal, but my point is that she’s taken advantage of her position and of circumstances to influence people into accepting what she wants.

      • Tessa says:

William has the influence. Kate depends on Williams whims
She,aided and abetted William behavior to the sussexes. She did not want harry to get married and she flirted with him and liked being center of attention.

      • Tessa says:

If William wants out of the marriage he will get out of the marriage.

      • @Eurydice: yes she certainly has used her circumstances (still believe she didn’t have cancer) to her advantage to continue on with her very lazy ways and people do accept it.

      • Honeybee says:

I disagree. Kate doesn’t have any influence. It BM who nicknamed her waity. She was mocked severely. Now they don’t have any young senior royals to pitch against meghan. That the only reason.
Suppose, William finds a nice young intelligent women (unlikely to happen) the Entire BM will turn against kate. Middleton’s dark secreat will be on daily mail, people… ….
She was a door mat, she is a doormat and will be a doormat.
We should overestimate the influence of hyena.

      • Veritas says:

Kate is working-class and Camilla pleaded with William not to marry Kate as she did not have the cultural background essential to the position of consort. It’s why Willy tried to grab blue-blood Isabella Calthorpe when he split with Kate but she said no thanks She loves the riches they get of 80,000 pounds a day tax free plus umpteen other privileges but wants to live freely like sister Pippa hence a recent skiing trip and secret visit to Mustique when her health only allows her easy duties shaking a few hands and talking to non-threatening folk.

    • convict says:

Have to chuckle at the fact that People makes no distinction that it is William who will be King, and Kate, who will be his consort. She can never be regnant, meaning never head of state. Kate’s position is solely dependent on her remaining married to him.

      • KoRAR says:

        @convict
Remember when it was already known that Elizabeth is in a bad way and there were a lot of articles controlled by Middleton and an “interview” with their junkie uncle that Charles should step down, but they didn’t write “because William would be a better king”, ONLY that “Kate will be a wonderful queen.” Not a word about William, as if Kate was to replace Elizabeth.

I’m afraid that Middleton believes it and behaves like that in his plotting.

If William doesn’t get divorced now and allows Kate to become queen consort, the Windsors will be over, and all the Middletons will take over the palaces like locusts. William starts beating, but he attacks women or Harry from behind, in confrontations he’s a coward, and after what he did in December, which he tried so ineptly to hide, Middleton has him in his grip and forces certain things on him, like a trashy movie or an invitation to Ascot.
If he doesn’t get a divorce, he’ll be on a leash for the rest of his life by Middleton.
Unless he wants to be a widower..

      • Tessa says:

William can divorce kate.if he wants out. They can lead separate lives which might work out unless he wants to marry someone else. William may know too much about the middletons and can hold something over them.

      • Veritas says:

You have to accept that the crumbling monarchy and succession to the crown depends on Willy Nilly and Kate Dolittle Middleton staying together hence the relentless schmaltzy emphasis on their ‘love’ and ‘sweet PDA – (OMG they touch each other) and roll in the hayfield OOPS in front of security and cameras.)
Kate (and her mummy) know this and hold all the aces. Kate’s working-class background (her g-grandfather was a coalminer and mum a shop assistant) restricts her identifying with the royal aristocracy whose snobs see her ‘as not one of us’ so if it is to work for Kate she has to lower involvement standards to her level. The culture of the aristocrats she has to mix with can not be learnt, it is breeding only and is why Camilla implored William not to marry Kate and why he desperately tried to get blue-blood Isabella Calthorpe to say yes when he briefly broke from Kate but Isabella declined.

      • convict says:

@Ko: I’m in 2 minds about the Middletons’ power because William has shifted away from there in the past 5 years or so. I think the gloss has worn off for him.

I didn’t know that about Uncle hookers and blow. He seems to be laying low now, as he should. He was reason enough for William to make the permanent break from Kate when UG was exposed. But no, William took the easy way out. The Queen should have put her foot down too. It was prescient as to what was in store regarding the grifting Middletons.
@Tessa: I agree, but once he’s King, it isn’t going to happen. Time is running out. Really, I don’t care, they deserve each other. William will not change now in his 40s no matter who he marries.

      • Tessa says:

I don’t think camilla cared enough to tell William not to marry kate.

      • sunnyside up says:

That “roll in the hay” was a big mistake, there is no way they would have done it in front of cameras if it had been genuine.

    • Tess says:

I know what you mean. The press and the media in the UK is desperately trying to make MAGA Karen happen, and they have been failing all these years.
If the centre they are pretending to have Karen in is in the background, in the periphery of the white klan Windsor, then Karen is the centre of the Windsor orbit and the monarchy will end w/o the Karen orbit.

  2. Deering24 says:

“…they’re expected to bring a new generation’s energy, as well as the empathy, family focus and commitment to the crown that they demonstrate now.”

🤣🤣 Shade deeper than the Marianas Trench there

  3. NikkiK says:

The fact that they need to sell this that hard, tells you everything you need to know. These two are both lazy and dull and seemingly bring out the worst in each other.

    • Ciotog says:

That “very much” seems like an anxious attempt to assert something that isn’t true.

      • Shoegirl77 says:

@Ciotóg, very much not a racist family 😉

      • Ciotog says:

        Exactly!

      • Lauren says:

Right. It is a desperate Middleton lie that the monarchy will crumble if William and Kate divorce. It will not- It’s probably the only chance to survive honestly. They need to remove the Middletons influence especially for the children. This sort of desperation would not be published if keen and ma were secure in their laughable “long game”. She better be tough bc she’s going to need it.

    • Weatherby says:

Add in, too, that their cover story appears to be using the wax figure of Kate and you’ve got an utterly pathetic fan fiction read.

I doubt that Kate has ever put her arm around George, judging solely by the boy’s body language and contorted facial expressions around his mother. He remains the only child who refuses the holding of her hand at public events, and it’s been several years since he’s accepted it. Charlotte, the perennially labeled obedient child, will hold her mother’s hand and follow her obnoxious finger pointing with no trouble. Louis will hold hold her hand but then pull faces

Secret visit to a baby bank is simply laughable. Kate *abhors* the public, and her public duties. This is displayed at nearly every event. Remember the visit to a children’s hospital when she looked dour throughout, only to be photographed snorting triumphantly on her way out? Or that precious moment when she first visited the scouts and sat off to the side pouting with her dog? She’s a spoiled brat who cares only for a camera.

I’m in stitches at the thought of them using her wax figure. That is TRULY something.

  4. somebody says:

I guess, he needs to get that about 14 commonwealth realms in while he can since at least half are considering dumping the monarchy.

    • sunnyside up says:

It has been reported that he did say that he wasn’t interested in the Commonwealth.

      • convict says:

The Commonwealth doesn’t need him, either. Most of the Commonwealth member sovereign nations are not realms of the British monarchy.

  5. Nanea says:

“She’s very much seen as a player at the center of team Windsor.”

    Right. A bit player.

An also-ran who doesn’t even know her text, see the ship’s naming ceremony the other day, so she should be best relegated to the role of an extra.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I think they mean ‘team Middleton’ – she’s been benched by the Windsors because she’s lazy and can’t be trusted not to embarrass them in public. She and her PR games are damaging the Windsors – I mean really, those Temu ‘rebranding’ videos are just ………. beyond tone deaf and out of touch.

    • convict says:

Kate is disappearing before the world’s watching eyes. Is there anyone who cares about this woman enough to get her the help she so desperately needs? Her mother or sister? Her story is not going to end in triumph, but tragedy.

      • Jaded says:

My thoughts exactly, this will not end well for her — mentally, emotionally or physically. She looks like she’s teetering on the edge most of the time with her manic smiles and empty eyes — having the crown she and her mother so desperately wanted shoved on her too soon will only add to her problems. She made a deal with the devil and it’s going to haunt her for the rest of her life.

      • convict says:

‘Teetering on the edge’ is a good description. The thing that frustrates is that the media and her fans are always boasting about how “perfect” she is when she is far from it. She’s mortal like the rest of us.

That only adds to her problems. There is always media attention about pressure for young girls to be perfect from SM. Kate is at the apex of all that.

Her family seem to ignore her obvious decline, likely making excuse after excuse for her. That is also doing her no favours.

I don’t see her lasting the distance, even if the marriage survives. She may have all the privilege in the world, but I’d bet she is desperately miserable behind the scenes.

  6. Tessa says:

Charles should be bothered more about Williams next king story and keen as queen. Harry and Meghan left and Charles should worry about lazy William wanting to take over. People magazine will tank if they keep up keen cover stories. And huevo has to play devoted husband . Carole must have contributed to the drivel. The children are not raised away from public eye with covet story of Charlotte. Cover story of young statesman George and cheeky Louis

  7. Julia says:

These puff pieces always tell us Kate is the most popular member of the RF but most recent opinion polls show William as being more popular. The latest Yougov poll of the US which I’m sure was commissioned to get negative headlines about the Sussexes showed her to be less popular than Harry in the US. That poll disappeared pretty quickly because not only did it show that both Harry and Meghan were more liked than disliked in the US Camilla had a negative rating and scored the same as Andrew. I know it’s stupid to poll Americans on the RF but the results made me laugh and the uk press almost completely ignored it.

    • Caturday says:

I Don’t understand. She’s been paid roughly 50 million pound in the last 15 years. How are they ‘players central’ when they’re literally king and Queen.

Are they trying to pretend they don’t want the job? And the billions they already have?

Bahahahs. Yeah bo6, wily wants all the money and the women and everything.. Sorry, he doesn’t care

    • convict says:

As her own PR has told everyone, it is William who will be head of state. She doesn’t have a constitutional role and that can never be happen. She’s irrelevant, save for decoration.

  8. WHAT says:

William did say he’s putting the small r in royal when he becomes 👑

He’s already showing how his lazy reign will be. Both are out and about right now cause California is the 📰 and the courtiers are 😡

Both were sent out to steal 📰 but All the rota wanted to talk about was Harry and Meghan

Purposely write ✍️ 📚 on the royal family but who’s names do they have to include in order for it to sell or go viral even though the 📚 have nothing to do with California

Sad existence to be in William and Kate reign always in the shadows or defined by what Cali is doing

  9. Tessa says:

People needs to change title to Kate weekly. Trying to make the lazy pair happen

  10. Libra says:

Smiling in public but a fighter in private. We always knew she was 2 faced but this confirms it. She fought tooth and nail to get William and she’ll fight to keep him, knocking Meghan out of the picture in the process.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I would also add that she fights ‘with’ William – we’ve been told all about their fighting for many years.

      • Jais says:

At least the fighting hasn’t happened on camera. Bc I Just saw that vid of the Macrons. Daaaaang.

    • sunnyside up says:

Friendly when out and snobbish indoors according to someone I know who worked for them.

    • Nic919 says:

We saw her lunge at Meghan in public, so not all the fighting is behind closed doors.

      • Deborah1 says:

@Nic919 – I’ve actually seen the video of the moment in question now. I wouldn’t say it was a lunge exactly but it was certainly menacing causing Meghan to step back with a frightened look on her face and Harry to protect her. Disgusting behaviour on Kate’s part.

      • Tessa says:

Kate took a threatening step to Meghan. Kate never went to the media to deny the crying story. Kate is a phony

      • Jais says:

There are two camera angles floating around of that moment. One can make it appear as if maaaaybe Kate is looking past Meghan. The other angle makes it v clear that she was stepping towards Meghan and the camera very clearly showsthe look on her face as she does it. And it’s not good. You can see Meghan visibly step back bc Kate was purposely intimidating her. It’s wild that there is video evidence of that moment. The rota says nothing. But from the moment Kate stepped out of the car for that joint walkabout and left Meghan in the dust she was having a moment. She was trying to put Meghan in her place the whole time and ended up kind of looking like a psycho b*tch.

      • Kat says:

She exhibited disgraceful behaviour in church as well when Meghan was present. The looks she gave her were pure evil. I do not know how she has the blatant nerve to do it in the house of God.Her sycophants call her the most beautiful woman in the world, she really believes it.
I dare not say anymore, or I will be arrested for insulting Saint Catherine

  11. Me at home says:

All of what Kaiser says about this Opposite Day hagiography. Kate takes the kids to volunteer once, 1 1/2 years ago, and this is supposed to be “installing” (sic) a sense of duty?

Anyway, Charles must be incandescent to be upstaged by this cover during the same week he hauls his old and sick self, plus a doctor, to Canada for what’s actually a significant soft power move to stick it to Trump about annexing Canada. William had to be cajoled and threatened to get off the sofa for the Pope’s funeral. I know these covers are planned in advance, but we’ve also known Charles was going to Canada for some time now. Hey Charles, William and Kate and their team can’t wait for you to die! I’d love to be a fly on the wall when Charles gets back to London.

    • Jais says:

Yeah the service-minded Kate can only reference a trip with the kids from a few years back. One that was accompanied by cameras. I’d be curious to know what service the kids do when cameras aren’t around. Maybe their school has a service focus somewhere. Bc I honestly don’t see the parents taking the kids to do service when the cameras aren’t there.

      • First comment says:

I’m afraid that those children are doomed..parents like William and Kate, grandparents like Carole and the most possible result would be entitlement, laziness and dishonesty..I hope I’m wrong and that they would be clever enough to leave the royals life andbe happy, at least…

      • convict says:

Thank you FC. I’ve tried to be charitable regarding the children. But with their “role models” I can’t see duty being their priority. Hopefully the monarchy will be really slimmed down, as in cost to the taxpayers by taking back the duchies. It would be best if Charlotte and Louis got proper jobs.

    • Corvus Corax says:

I think “installing” may be more of a Freudian slip than a simple misspelling. It seems like royal children are supposed to be little robots programmed to take up their planned places in the hierarchy.

      • convict says:

        @Kitten: agreed.

@Corvus: if their parents want them to lead private lives like Harry’s children, they know what to do. But you can’t take public money and expect to do so. These kids will be on the taxpayers’ pounds from cradle to grave in some aspects. George, as King-in-waiting, will never earn his own way.

It’s good that the kids get privacy now. You don’t know anything about them really. Notice that William will drop a morsel to the public just to whet their appetites? It keeps the sycophants happy. But other than that, what do you know? Nothing, other than what William or Kate mentions. We know Charlotte does ballet, which was revealed. But that’s hardly out of the ordinary for a girl her age, or encroaching on her privacy.

But even the Queen knew and said that royal kids must be seen. They are the future of the monarchy. The British public need to feel affection for them as they grow up, the way they did for W&H. I say, the public needs to be indoctrinated to their presence.

    • Kittenmom says:

She’s doing an excellent job of training them to take expensive vacations on the taxpayer dime. In fact, she’s over-training the poor pumpkins by enforcing a very punishing vacation schedule!

  12. Maxine Branch\ says:

These two will enhance the voices of “Not My King.” They have zero appeal to millennials. Going to soccer games while trying to mimic your brother in mannerisms is not what appeal is made of. Flying helicopters as though they are taxi’s while trying to mimic your dead mother in law and sister in law is not appealing, it is creepy. Having zero work ethic, yielding no tangible results for over a decade, coming across as functional illeterates, while stumbling around your country would be insulting if not pathetic. As the saying goes, you can put lipstick on a pig but it will always be a pig.

  13. aquarius64 says:

This article gives the vibes of William is measuring the drapes at BP, Balmoral. Sandringham and any other royal properties held exclusively by the sovreign. Charles is still alive and is giving his Speech from the Throne in Canada.

William is one heartbeat away from becoming Head of State, Head of Nation, Head of the Church of England and Commander on Chief of UK’s Armed Forces. Those are job descriptors that William can’t get out of and People fails to address that. Kate becomes counselor of state as the monarch’s spouse when William ascends. Will Kate become a member of the Privy Council? Will she become a member of the Garter? How much royal authority will William grant his consort? People is saying not much here: William will chuck the traditional roles and go straight into “philanthropist” king mode and Kate will be stuck behins the scenes.

  14. Connie says:

Modern what a joke. Based on the crowds their laziness and incompetence I don’t see them ascending to the throne. Their the Havisham. Stuck in the Victorian era. Kate to this day can’t deliver a 1 sentence speech. They will always be useless. No one has to balls to call them out on their BS. This is the main reason they’re pissed at Harry. The RF/BM have projected PPOW many short comings onto Harry. It’s clear as the nose on my face who the “weak links are.” It’s not the Sussex. The 🇬🇧 press can create a negative narrative when it comings to HM. People aren’t stupid. The RF events that occur in 🇬🇧 has taken a major nosedive in attendance. They’re more barriers than people. I’m sure William Kate would💩their 👖s if they had to tour 🇧🇸 🇯🇲 and 🇧🇿.

  15. Tessa says:

I don’t think keen will get access to the jewels. Huevo will control access. Charles let’s William run amok not hiding his eagerness to take over.

  16. Jais says:

I don’t know if People didn’t want to show William’s beard so much as the fact that there has been no tiara events with Kate since he grew a beard. She has not been invited to one since the emergence of the beard.

    • BeanieBean says:

Nor invited to a tiara event, if memory serves (and it frequently does not). What I’m curious about, with that People mag cover, is–is that a photo of the real Bill & Kate or is that a photo of their waxworks at Madame Tussaud’s? I truly cannot tell.

    • Monika says:

@lady digby I saw and read this piece on Sky news UK as well and thought what a coincidence.

KP seems to be hard at work to sell Willi as the future king. Sky’s royal reporter Rhiannon Mills followed Willi for a week. She tries hard to dispel Willi’s reputation as workshy, Willi focusing on impact of the events he attends. Rhiannon Mills even wrote “”impact” the buzz word ahead of any engagement now.” “Impact” appears to be the buzz word in the palace even Charles uses it for his short visit to Canada.

Is Willi overshadowing Charles engagements again?

      • Nic919 says:

William isn’t in the news in Canada regardless of this people magazine cover or that UK Sky News puff piece.

But Rhiannon mills publishing that puff piece this week is a choice.

    • Blogger says:

“ We weren’t expecting him to turn up as we waited at the Soho Hotel in London to watch a new series of films about the dangers faced by wildlife rangers, a project described as “the brainchild” of Prince William.”

Is he now stalking Meghan? 😳 Obsessed. 🙄

Copying her won’t reflect her shine on you baldy lazy Willy.

“ They would never do royal engagements from the sense of cutting the ribbon or simply being poster people. We were very clearly warned if you wanted any form of engagement, it almost had to have a whole strategy behind it.”

The strategy is to do fuck all while receiving £26M annually to spend on helicopters and holidays.

They’re not workshy, they’re just plain lazy who gossip all day and post on football forums. Not that complex.

  17. Amy Bee says:

How is Harry saying he doesn’t know how much time Charles has offensive and William and Kate putting out monthly previews of their future reign not?

    • Jais says:

That’s the real question. Harry showed concern for Charles whereas William shows concern for himself and his future reign. He’s doing a lot. It’s enough to make one think Charles won’t make it past the summer, jeez. I have no idea but that’s the impression all this future reign coverage is giving.

  18. Tessa says:

I remember the 4 senior royals grinning away for a photo prior to the queens funeral. Now the keens are going on cover stories about when they take over. Though I doubt Kate will get full or any access to jewelry collections. What a dysfunctional family

  19. Eurydice says:

Yikes! This is the Chelsea Flower Show times a billion. It’s not just overshadowing, it’s casting a whole eclipse over Charles and his trip to Canada.

  20. Charmgirl says:

Am I seeing things or did People lightened Willy’s teeth?

  21. Tessa says:

Sally b Smith was a Charles person now she is flattering the keens. She turned on Diana and actually said she has border line personality disorder from something she read in a textbook
She literally gaslit diana, posthumously. And if William wants kate out sally will be right there trashing her. I wonder what Charles thinks of sally enabling william

  22. Sophie Ninette says:

I see the off-putting Victoria Beckham pantsuit colour lingers on. People could easily have chosen a more pleasing background hue!

  23. Mads says:

One of the accounts that I follow on Twitter made a salient point that none of the senior royals can generate sustained interest and drive revenue for the media, only Harry and Meghan possess that ability.

It’s ironic that if William were to pull the plug on the farce of their marriage, they would dominate world wide press coverage for years. The tabloids would be salivating at the possibility of new partners, the rota would be writing up KP puff pieces supporting William as a single parent, king in waiting etc. It would be endless, wall to wall coverage. If Chuck can rehabilitate his and Cam’s image to the forelock tuggers, William can do the same.

    • Tessa says:

Only Charles did not totally rehabilitate himself and Camilla to say the least. There are those who remember what happened during his first marriage and not everybody likes the way he evicted Harry and Meghan and pulling security. William and Kate are not universally beloved as the spin likes to claim

    • Liz-L says:

Mads – I agree. And Kate’s fickle fans would soon forget her to gush over the shiny new consort

  24. Inge says:

‘as well as the empathy, family focus and commitment to the crown that they demonstrate now.‘

    Basically F all then

  25. Blogger says:

“Prince William is destined to one day wear the crown, with wife Kate Middleton at his side — but what kind of king will he be?”

    A lazy one! 😂😅🤣

Where is the king? He’s gone missing on holidays again!

“But she is actually strong-minded, strong-willed and prepared to fight for what she wants and what she thinks is right.”

    Yes, tights. 😏

  26. Nic919 says:

It is funny that so many derangers are upset that People called her Kate Middleton. An American magazine is going to use that name because for Americans the Princess of wales is Diana.

    • WhatWasThat says:

      Yes!
I wondered why I was uncomfortable with her as POW
As a very old Brit that has finally sunk in
Not just that William is too lazy to learn Welsh he doesn’t even deserve the title
She is not my Princess nor will she ever be
As Camilla will never ever ever be called Queen by me
So take me to the Tower of London now
As I have Scot’s/Highland ancesty the true Royalty were Jacobite
That and that family have always been a mess
      A very very unpleasant lot

      • sunnyside up says:

The Windsors are descended from a usurper.

      • convict says:

The Windsors direct lineage is very interesting. I did not know until the other day that George V was not supposed to be King, either. His eldest brother died from illness at only 28. Then of course George VI was crowned the reluctant King because of an errant eldest brother. So things could have been very different if either of those scenarios did not happen. Edward VIII may have sired legitimate children if he had not fallen for Wallis.

  27. kelleybelle says:

Lies like this actually make me nauseous. There is absolutely nothing substantial to really write about so they have to make up complete horse-pucky.

    • convict says:

The bar is very low. And media does not care about love or hate. Both are to be treated equally, to kind of paraphrase Rudyard Kipling. What matters is clicks and interest.

  28. Libra says:

Does People Magazine not read the comments about Kate in the DM? Mostly not complimentary, lazy, privileged do nothing.

  29. Over it says:

The only thing Kate the Karen will ever fight for is to finally be queen and have her big chair and hat . And fortunately for her . Willy has given her plenty of ammunition to make sure she gets it . Carole and Kate spent years scheming and plotting and willy never stood a chance against them. Another reason is he wants to prove to his father that he is better suited for the role because he is a family man as in he stayed married to the mother of his children . Kate knows this and she uses it as leverage along with all the other dirt she and her mother are holding on to. So willy can scowl at her when he likes or pretend she doesn’t exist. But that’s all he can do . Kate is here to stay and willy Just has to take it .

    • Tessa says:

If William wants out he will get out
Diana was more popular than Kate but Charles moved on. Although Diana said her life was torture and wanted out. William is lazy and drove out harry and meghan. Hes nothing to write home about so to to speak.

    • Tessa says:

William may know what the middletons did
About uncle Gary and all of Carole creditors

    • Nic919 says:

The crown always wins. If william wants her gone she is out.

  30. KC says:

I’m finally starting to believe her being ill, or someone who lives and breathes the phrase, You can never be too thin. Her face is even more gaunt in these latest photos.

And speaking of faces, he looks more and more like Humpty Dumpty every day. Perhaps the explains the beard.

  31. QuiteContrary says:

They will bring a “new generation’s energy” to the monarchy … a stoner’s energy, more like.

  32. therese says:

Isn’t the window closing for the divorce? I had read that they couldn’t divorce once they become king and queen. I mean, if two people who can’t stand each other, seemingly, want to be trapped into that, well go ahead. All the glitter in the world wouldn’t make me want to be trapped in a loveless marriage.

    • Tessa says:

. Caroline of Brunswick was locked out of the coronation of her estranged husband george iv.

    • Unblinkered says:

@over it – I’m not so sure anymore that W will continue to take it. From his perspective, the landscape is bleak whichever way he looks – the humiliation when so many people that matter to him know; tolerating KM who, for all we’re aware, may be highly unstable; and belatedly being pushed by the government into carrying out regular royal engagements which he’s known to loathe. And all this whilst unable to pursue openly any relationships.

The bottle can’t be his best friend forever.

    • Nic919 says:

Henry VIII invented a whole church to divorce his queen of many years. William won’t have to work that hard. Caroline of Brunswick was consort to George IV and she was iced out too.

  33. Henny Penny says:

I think this article is a straight-up message to William that he’s nothing without Kate. He tried for a year without her to become a thing, and he just isn’t. Sadly, he peaked too young, and now he looks like Jar jar Binks, and there’s nothing to be done about it. And the only way to distract from him is for Kate to behave like a lunatic when she’s out

It’s funny, but I keep coming back to the fact that she’s sort of William’s personality “beard.” Without Kate there, wearing her demure, old-fashioned dresses, guffawing at his jokes, and taking most of the attention away from him, all you’ve got is William’s unkempt, surly, and obviously hungover countenance to look upon.

    • Tessa says:

Kate is not all that. And always lazy
She and William were nasty to harry and Meghan. More like they deserve each other.

  34. Tessa says:

Social media and new technology has been around for a while
It is not innovative that the keens use it.

  35. wolfmamma says:

It will all become clear when these two losers take the throne. Crystal clear. The Windsors are on their way out after such a long dynasty.
Good King Harry is free. Well done, Harry

  36. bisynaptic says:

“When the time comes for William and Kate to become king and queen, they’re expected to bring a new generation’s energy, as well as the empathy, family focus and commitment to the crown that they demonstrate now.”
    — LOL

  37. Cassie says:

I see they used an older photo rather than how they look now,

  38. Dee says:

    Someone’s a player, for sure.

  39. kelleybelle says:

*snicker* On the People Special cover they had to use old photos because there are no recent shots where they look relatively well and/or happy together …
