Last week, Angelina Jolie filed a declaration with the court as part of the years-long lawsuit and countersuit with Brad Pitt, all over Chateau Miraval. In the declaration, she laid out the timeline yet again for how and why she chose to purchase a home in LA just after she filed for divorce from Brad. She borrowed the money from Brad (who charged her interest) to purchase Cecil B. DeMille’s estate, and that’s where she and her children have been living ever since. No, let me say it this way – that’s been Angelina’s homebase ever since, and the kids still use it as their LA base, even as they go off to college and pursue their careers. Over the summer, People Mag published a story about how Angelina was looking to sell the DeMille home in the coming year, and she wants to move abroad once the twins turn 18 (next July). Angelina also recently spoke out about how she doesn’t recognize her country anymore, and there was just the feeling that she could not wait to move out of LA and out of America. Well, TMZ got an interesting update:

Angelina Jolie loves to travel the globe … but recent gossip she’s readying to bounce from the U.S. to live abroad is bogus, TMZ has learned.

A source close to the actress tells TMZ … despite headlines claiming her bags were packed, AJ has no interest in living overseas full-time. We’re told if she left Los Angeles, where she’s based … it would be to move to New York City, where most of her businesses are located.

Don’t get it twisted … the Oscar-winner loves traveling for extended periods, often spending time abroad with her kids … but our source says she’ll always have a home base in the States with her family.

This all stems from reports in late August claiming Angelina was getting ready to sell her historic Cecil B. DeMille estate in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles — but our sources say that’s not happening … at least not anytime soon.

Bottom line … Angelina isn’t saying goodbye to L.A. or America … she’s just keeping her passport active and her options open.

Sure, I believe this. I think she probably will sell the DeMille home next year once the twins graduate from high school and turn 18, because she will no longer have any legal/custodial reason to maintain a residence in LA. Maybe she’s not ready to put the home on the market right at this very moment, and that’s why “sources” are back-pedaling a bit. And I could also see her moving to New York full time, and using New York as a base to travel and work. Vivienne will probably want to go with her to New York too – doesn’t Vivienne want to work behind-the-scenes in the theater? Maybe Vivi will end up going to a New York university.
