Robert Jobson’s latest book is The Windsor Legacy. It came out a month ago or so with surprisingly little fanfare. You see, Jobson has “sources” deep within King Charles and Camilla’s camps, and his books and commentary are usually centered on what C&C think of various other royals. What’s funny about that is The Windsor Legacy is seemingly full of stories about how Charles is disappointed in his lazy, illiterate heir. While Jobson gleefully pays the Sussex tax, telling even more lies about Harry and Meghan, the book has largely bombed among royalists because Jobson clearly states that William is “over-assertive with his father” and that William has “mood swings” which cause staff to walk on eggshells. Jobson also quoted sources who called William “difficult to handle” with a “fiery temper,” and that William and Charles have an “underlying tension” between them.
Well, Camilla Tominey interviewed Jobson on the Telegraph’s YouTube show, and there’s one clip going viral. Jobson refers to William as “tricky,” refuses to say whether he thinks William will be a good king (lmao), and claims that Charles was always much closer to Harry. Even funnier, when Tominey goes through Jobson’s greatest hits on William, Jobson says that if you speak to people off the record, those criticisms are “generous” towards William. It’s like I always say… the royalists are well aware of William AND Kate’s profound character flaws. That’s why they obsess over Harry & Meghan as well – so they don’t have to acknowledge the next reign and how it’s all going to hell in a handbasket. I’m including the clip and the full Telegraph video below.
Ooo if this is the kinder way of describing the future king 👑 now imagine who the real William is without palace spinners.
Even his biggest sycophants struggle to describe him as a decent human being, they say “don’t believe the put on composure during royal engagements🤔

The funny part too is that Camilla Tominey doesn’t seem surprised by this either. Or even push back much. They all know. Accusing Meghan of being a bully wasn’t just an obvious and made-up smear, it was a diversion away from the true bully at KP.
Their attitude is so interesting- like, yeah William is a jealous seething mess and he’ll be a rotten king and he’s worse than anyone wants to say in public, but ha, ha, ha, whatever.
Have the Royal Rota any obligation to tell the truth or just act as fully paid PR for RF and lie to us about Will, s abilities and behaviour and personality for decades? Are they smug about conning the public and tax payer who is footing the bill for this user?
@Lady DIgby – I think they’re telling the truth about William as much as they’re allowed to and as much as is palatable to the public. It gets masked by the constant anti-H&M briefing and palace PR – but, if you turn down that noise, the descriptions of William have been consistent for a very long time.
I think what gets people like Tominey and Jobson to this level of dispassionate disdain about William is that there’s nothing anybody can do about him. Yes, he’ll be a rotten king, but he’ll still be king. And it’s a kind of devil’s bargain – they make a living off the royals, being a royal insider gives them status, but they see all the ways the sausage is made and can’t talk about it. I’m not excusing them; but it’s part of living under a monarchy.
Well this explains the grudging tolerance for William’s paltry workload. The last thing the BRF wants is William losing his sh*t in public. I’m starting to think Charles personally paid off the Middletons because no one else would put up with William otherwise.
I wonder if a part of that attitude is because it’s a hereditary monarchy, so there’s nothing they can do about it. They can’t get William fired. So they just kings shrug and move on.
It is going to become increasingly difficult to cover for how bad King Billy is going to be. Currently it is “radio silence” on them and laser focus on Harry and Meghan as full-time distraction to the Omni shambles going on with PoWs.
Oh dear, such a surprise. What are we to believe – our lying eyes or all the people who are confirming what we see?
Yup, Dim Bill will be a toddler king. Monarchists really are worried. As for me, I’m started to get excited about the crazy stuff that will happen. It will be a hoot.
Same, a few years back I started to really wonder what would happen when the queen actually died (even if it felt like obviously she’d always be around) and this is the updated version.
They can’t do anything else to H&M and they’re already dreadful value for money so I don’t see how objectively it can get worse. But if more and more people see the wheels coming off then my dream of one day living in a republic is getting closer.
I totally believe all the reports about William’s anger and ‘ fiery temper’s. I think William is an abusive husband. And if he has attached his brother, I would bet a lot of money that he had attacked his wife. I think Kate lives with domestic violence and at times looks like a victim of DV by trying to make herself smaller. I hope he doesn’t hit the kids, but who knows. I really feel bad for Kate and the kids. I know people don’t have a good opinion of her, but I think when one is in a DV relationship, one does many things to survive it. And btw I don’t think William was like this fully early on in their relationship. I think things have gotten progressively worse. And he bullies his dad and other people around him.
If this is the case – very possible but I hope not – why doesn’t her grifting-ass mother do something about it? If that was my daughter, I would move mountains to get her out of there.
Her mother worked way too hard over many years to get her in there to do a thing to get her out.
Grifters care more about the grift.
Sadly, the world is full of DV victims whose familys can’t or won’t see it.
Scooter broke up with keen a few times when they dated. He cheated on her. And he treated her disrespectfully telling his pals he had sex waiting for him. Meaning from keen.
There were stories early on in their relationship, that William treated Kate horribly. His eyes were always roaming, he was controlling, nitpicky, and never really “nice” to her. Unfortunately, her mother had her eyes set on the ultimate prize was/is more than willing to throw her daughter under the bus to get that prize.
100% Joany, l saw a picture earlier on in their marriage, l think they may have been in Asia, but they are both away from.de group and he is literally screaming in her face, Kate just stands there with her head down like a child, lve seen a few more of this type of pics since but this one always stands out to me years later. V v sad.
I do think William is very unhappy maybe depressed, but he is so angry at de min l.doubt he will ever get de help he needs
Hmmm. “Mood swings, fiery temper, you have to walk on egg shells, difficult to handle”. Sounds like Peg can be very abusive you know like pushing his own brother. What other abuse does he met out and to whom? I think a new name for Peg will be Peg the Punisher and he will start with his brother and who knows who will piss him off and be next hmmm.
I believe his nickname as a kid was Billy the Basher. He’s always had a terrible temper.
And I don’t doubt that he’s abusive towards Kate. I think Meghan saw that and that’s why she said Kate was dealing with some issues when she made her cry before the wedding.
That doesn’t make Kate any less awful. I feel like she saw the opportunity to punch down on Meghan and did it with glee.
Toxic, abusive couples love pulling together to abuse a third party.
When is the Palace going to launch the bullying investigation into William?
We know he’s awful. His brother ran away. His wife is wasting away before our eyes. His father has little to do with him. Why won’t the press write about him and all the things they know about? The threat of losing access seems insignificant compared to the wealth of information they already have
Because the media that interacts with and reports on the British Royal Family are true believers monarchists. Faced with truths that could increase republican feelings or otherwise tarnish the Monarchy the rota’s instinct is to hide it. That it helps them maintain access is secondary
The press didn’t write about Andrew’s behavior in the early years so it’s not surprising if they aren’t open about William’s behavior. If William has untreated Bipolar Disorder, his moods will likely become more severe over time. I remember he had a head injury as a child which can contribute to mood disorders.
He acts exactly like his father, who never had a head injury as a child.
Just confirming Jobson is KC’s man. When the Sussexes returned from Australia, it was his reporting that gave me a chill, realizing that the knives were really out for Meghan.
I only started taking real notice of the campaign against Meghan after the announcement of her first Pregnancy, Although I do remember Harry complaining about racial abuse soon after we found out about Meghan, I was ever so pleased when the RF seemed to accept her. I already knew that they practiced racial discrimination in their employment policies, Megan wasn’t the first to complain about the lack of black people in higher positions. I think that Meghan’s biggest mistake was being better at the job than Kate and too keen to start doing the charity work.
I remember the Mail went after Meghan pretty hard out the gate but then behaved and then around the time of her Australia tour, things started leaking about how terrible she was (snapping at everyone, throwing a teacup at staff’s head etc)
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t Jobson say on live TV that the nasty gossip about Meghan came straight from William’s office? Seems he is firmly in the camp of C&C, not KP.
The Mail and no media ever reported that Meghan threw a teacup at someone’s head. That’s straight from the dredges of the internet.
oh yay I’m glad we’re talking about this.
Its been clear to me a for a while that Jobson can’t stand William. I don’t think that’s just because he’s in Charles’ camp, I think its because he’s been doing this for a long time and knows that William is a raging ahole who isn’t prepared for the throne. My guess is most of the RRs dont like him.
What we know about him is that he’s violent, incandescent with rage, refuses to compromise, barely works, surrounds himself with “yes men” and is entitled and lazy
and that’s “generous”?!?!?!!?!? What on earth is he really like????
I know, really? Next we’ll find he needed Forest Lodge to practice his amateur taxidermy.
What’s he really like,????? Don’t ask. We are lumbered with him. Nothing bar meeting his maker will stop him from being King.
He comes across as violent to me, even before Harry confirmed it in Spare. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were to be reported someday that he has been physically abusive to family members. We know he deliberately shoved Diana quite hard. And palace sources regularly refer to his anger and rage issues.
I think the truth of who William is and what he has done will emerge someday.
And it will be uglier than anyone imagined.
I cannot imagine what he is really like if the criticisms of him publicly are generous! He. It’s pay his spin doctors well to keep it all under wraps
If this is what Jobson (and others) are prepared to admit to in public, then you can bet that the reality is 10 times worse. I shudder to think what has been going on behind the scenes all thees years.
Agreed @Jensa it is all very concerning. Maybe Carole, Kate and Jason do their best to keep him calm and functional as the women have claimed in the past. I can understand keeping his schedule light with loads of holidays if his self regulation so poor. Above they don’t want him throwing anything heavier than a pen in public and having an on camera meltdown. Still that’s their problem, isn’t it?
I was reading about how prickly he was, how he didn’t want the role, how he didn’t want to do the work, how he spoke badly to his father and staff, in 2001 in Vanity Fair. How he was petulant, took after his father in personality.
every time I see one of these pieces I am reminded that William had a serious head injury when he was about 8 years old-a skull fracture that required surgery to repair.
it would be hard to imagine that he didn’t sustain some brain trauma, manifested as anything from irritable and labile mood, learning and processing difficulties, memory loss, and the like.
Even harder to imagine when you look at today William and his general awfulness.
Just like Henry the VIII
Brain injury is one thing, but he was rarely corrected on his behaviour as a child.
What an utter disappointment. It’s one thing for your “average Joe” to fail to launch while absurdly lazy, woefully stupid, and embarrassingly racist.
But it’s entirely another when it’s the future king of England.
