Emily Blunt wore a ‘sharp’ Tamara Ralph to the NYC ‘Disclosure Day’ premiere

Here are some select photos from last night’s NYC premiere of Disclosure Day. Critics are still embargoed from releasing their reviews, but I’m dying to read the critical reception of this film. I’ve heard rumors that test audiences were like “WTF?” but I’ve also heard a lot about how this is Steven Spielberg’s best film in decades. I’m also going to watch the box-office analysis and prognostication, because Spielberg is absolutely positioning this as a potential summer blockbuster. The film comes out on Friday, so the reviews should be coming out in another day or two.

I’m including photos of Emily Blunt and her husband, John Krasinski. John and Emily do enough red carpets together to keep the gossip away, but I like that John doesn’t come out for every single one of Emily’s events. She tends to go to all of John’s events though (it’s just that her career is a lot bigger). Emily wore Tamara Ralph to the premiere – it looks like she’s wearing a bustier made out of repurposed knives. How did she not cut herself to shreds??

I’m also including pics of Olivia Palermo and Eve Hewson. Olivia (who is not in the film) wore Pamella Roland. Eve wore Erdem. All of these women’s looks are a mess.

Emily, the botox shine is too much. Blinding, almost. I do appreciate the art deco design of the dress.

  2. Lisa says:

she kind of looks like an Olsen twin now

I don’t understand doing another alien movie when your first one is one of the best movies of all time. This movie will always be compared to Close Encounters (my fave Spielberg movie). I’ll wait to see what the audiences have to say.

Agree that all the dresses are a mess! Why did the designer do that to Olivia’s breasts?! It looks like deflated balloons! Eve Hewson is so beautiful and I really like her as an actor but that look is awful! Emily’s dress only just okay.

I read that a third (or fourth?) Quiet Place is in the works. I haven’t seen any of them (I can only JUST get through Widow’s Bay! Horror and suspense are not my thing. Aside from some old Italian suspense films, but they’re so different).

Do people here like the Quiet Place films?

Yeah these dresses are a big yikes although Emily comes out on top. Is she wearing big heels because she looks super tall. As for her face, sigh, it’s such a shame and so distracting watching her on screen now.

  6. Kirsten says:

The lighting here isn’t doing anyone any favors. That said, though I love Olivia, I’d rather see her dress on either Eve or Emily.

  7. MaisiesMom says:

Eve is gorgeous. That’s just a poorly fit dress and an unflattering picture of her. Emily’s dress is cool but I will never stop wishing that she hadn’t altered her face.

I hope the movie does well. Spielberg is a genius. I have so much respect for him as a film maker, the way he can make crowd pleasing blockbusters like Jurassic Park as well as thoughtful, sobering films that are somehow uplifting like Schindler’s List or The Fablemans. I thought his West Side Story was great and then it didn’t do well at the box office. So, best wishes even if alien movies are not my cup of tea.

I’m really excited to see this movie, I think we’re going saturday afternoon if there are still tickets available.

It can leave you with a sense of “wtf” and still be one of his best movies in recent years. I think he’s an excellent director (obviously) but its been a while since I’ve been really interested in seeing “the new Spielberg movie.” This looks like vintage Spielberg – good special effects, good music, good actors, interesting plot.

  9. Lens says:

I agree it looks like a good Spielberg movie and I look forward to it. Emily blunt has no idea what looks good on her since she insists on looking washed out with that shade of blonde hair.

  10. Drea says:

I actually really like Olivia’s dress BUT not on her. You do not wear a bustline like that when you have no bust.
