Is this Halle’s new boyfriend? I have no idea. The dude in these photos is named Trey Songz, but he’s not the same dude that Halle was seen holding hands with on Friday night, as she took in a Broadway show. Photos of Halle with that dude are at Bossip (who declares that Halle’s “swirling” days are over) and Dlisted (Michael K thinks the dude could be her bodyguard, or her latest piece). One thing’s for sure: Halle has been spotted in the company of many men since her split with her partner and baby-daddy Gabriel Aubry was announced on Friday.
Anyway, Halle has been photographed all over New York City the past few days. On Saturday she was even the cohost for Revlon’s Run/Walk for Women, which raises money for breast and ovarian cancer research, and she gave an enthusiastic speech and making sure everyone got the message: she’s not going to mourn her relationship with Gabriel Aubry in public. Halle told the crowd on Saturday: “I can’t tell you how happy I am to be here. I am walking today on behalf of a friend of mine, Stephanie, who is fighting the fight every day. I feel you, I’m with you, and it’s important that we’re all here today.”
Meanwhile, Gabriel released a statement to Access Hollywood to try to set the record straight on this whole “he broke up with Halle because she’s too old” story. Gabriel said: “While I will not comment on all of the wild inaccuracies being speculated about in the media, I am sad to say that Halle and I have decided together to separate at this time… She is, and will forever be, one of the most special and beautiful people that I have ever known, and I am certain that we will continue to have only love and respect for one another…[Nahla’s] happiness and well-being are the most important thing for both of us. Please respect our privacy during this very difficult time.”
Also, when my mom and I were talking about Halle and Gabriel, she said something that cracked me up. My mom claimed: “Halle is really f-cked up. Oprah tried to help her, but I think even Oprah gave up.” While I can’t really cosign that, I just wanted to put it out there that my mom agrees with many of you that Halle might have instigated this breakup because she is, in my mom’s words, “f-cked up”. Personally, I think Halle is just f-cked up about men, not really f-cked up in general. But I do think she’s handling this breakup with Gabriel very well – suspiciously well. Like she was the one who instigated it, because she found someone else.
UPDATE: For what it‘s worth, Halle‘s rep just told Us Weekly today, “Berry and Aubry have been split for some time, but they remain close friends and committed parents to their daughter.” I wonder how long is “some time”? Six months? Something like that?
Oh, and a “source” just told People Magazine, “She kicked him out months ago because he wasn’t able to pull his weight in the relationship and she wanted to move on. They’re very amicable in healthy ways because of their child. Her main concern is for the health and happiness of her daughter.” Also, regarding the hot man Halle was seen holding hands with on Friday night, People’s source claims: “They’re old friends. The photographers were chasing them so he just instinctively grabbed her hand.” Yeah, right. That one stinks to high heaven.

I saw this coming about a month or two ago when Halle said something to the effect of ‘men come and go from your life, but a child is forever’ or something along those lines. Not spoken like a woman who intended to stay with her current beau for much longer.

That is not the guy she was seen holding hands with when she was at that play in the third pic.. according to reports the relationship ended months ago.. and we are just NOW hearing about it. when they have been seen recently it has always been with the baby.. doing activities with her.. I think it was so that she saw Mommy and Daddy together. she is just a baby still.. and too young to understand..
Sad no matter why it happened.. but it would be sad no matter the couple. I just don’t get why people want certain couples to break up and when others do they act as if it is the saddest thing ever.. It should be the same for all. especially when children are concerned..

Oh my.. All of those pictures are sending me to abyss… I’m 21 and already have a well lined up wrinkle on my forehead while all of those celebrities foreheads look perfect even at the age of 40 or more. I wonder what am I gonna look like at their age? Like a grandma? Reportedly it’s been two months since the breakup. She’s had plenty of time to arrange a lot of escorts to be photographed with when the news broke. Good for the gentlemen – great publicity, being seen out with a beauty like Halle Berry – and good for her, so she doesn’t come off as being middle-aged, alone and abandoned.

I personally think that Halle Berry seemed to be the most at peace and happiest since shes been with Gabrel Aubury and although obviously having a baby was part of it I also think alot of it was she stopped dating abusive black men and stopped trying to prove how black she was…

i think halle herself would say she’s f-ed up when it comes to men. i think she’s said as much before. but, at least she’s gotten to a point where her being f’ed up with men means possibly random breakups/hookups and not getting beatup or emotionally abused, which is what she used to get involved with.
Halle has been really frank about her troubles with relationships, and her decision never to get married again. I think that Gabriel was one of the better, if not the best, men that she has been with, but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t still have those same issues.
Like @andrea said above, at least she is no longer choosing sex addicts and abusers as partners.
She’s rich, successful, independent, and has a beautiful daughter with whom she seems to be a hands-on parent. Breakups are always sad, but it seems like they both are handling it well and holding it together for their daughter.
I wish her well and hope that whatever path she chooses is a happy one.

I’m sad for Halle. I think she’s gorgeous and by all accounts is a good person. I thought Aubry really cared about her, but I’m wondering if he just used her to promote his career.

Kaiser,honey, your Mama is correct, Halle is crazy as f_ck!! Oprah tried for quite a while to help her with her issues and the two of them became friends. They might still be friends but I don’t think Oprah is trying to help her anymore. Halle is too far gone. I think her father deserting her at such a young age has something to do with her not being able to keep a man or only falling for the pretty and/or bad boys.
Also, several months ago (maybe January) there was a blind item about an actress with a “pretty boy” boyfriend who was ready to kick him to the curb since she only got with him to have a baby and now that she has accomplished that, she didn’t need him anymore. My first thought was that it was Halle but other posters laughed and said there was no way it was them because they look so “happy” together. I’m thinking I guessed right on that one.
There have been rumors in the modeling world that Gabriel is gay. That they lasted so long because they were not ‘sexual’. I know they have a daughter but there are ways to do that to.

I actually understand what you were trying to say to a certain extent, but you seriously put your foot in your mouth. You can’t single out an entire race of people without qualifying it. And in this case, there’s no way to argue this point without your coming across as racist. (And just so we’re clear, I’m not calling you racist) So, this part of your argument you should scratch or come up with some brilliant rhetoric.
On Halle’s blackness:
I’m actually inclined to agree with you on this point. Identity formation in the black community is actually a legitimate issue as many people in the black community use ethnicity as a tool for inclusion. It’s bullshit really. There are such flat conventions attempting to inform people about what it means to be “black” and it’s really just a limiting construct. But it does give you a feeling of fitting in even if it’s at the expense of yourself. As someone who grew of biracially, I’m sure this was huge issue for Halle, with Halle obviously looking black and her mother being white. Furthermore, her father decided to go AWOL. I guarantee you there are deep seeded issue surrounding identity and relating with this woman.
On another note, God please let this woman steer clear of Gay Songz.

These twentysomething Hollywood girls come and go in their relationships and no one tags them as being defective or unable to keep a man. Just because you’re over 35 doesn’t mean that you’re desperate to keep a man, or are looking for a serious committment. Halle is 43, stunning and has way more options than the average 43 year old woman. Not everyone is looking to be locked down. And sometimes things don’t work out. It’s simple as that.

Halle is not with Trey Songz. I volunteered at the Revlon Walk for Cancer on Saturday (where all of these photos were taken), and what you can’t see is that they’re both standing on a raised dais in the middle of Times Square at 8:00am in the morning surrounded by thousands of people.
It was a great event and we always need volunteers. Trey sang and Halle pumped up the crowd with a great speech.
No drama here. It’s so weird to finally be on the inside of a “celeb” incident. Allows you to see how news and events are distorted.
I cosign that Trey Songz is adorable. God, if I were single and in my twenties again… I’m not sure what Halle is looking for in a man. I’m not sure that she knows either. She is looking damn fine, though. I hope she gets whatever it is she wants.
