Karrueche Tran is seeking a restraining order against Chris Brown

Karrueche Tran and Chris Brown leaving Playhouse Nightclub

The last time I wrote about Chris Brown, it was February 1st and the night before, Chris had posted a completely disturbing “Instagram Story” (a video) about how he loves to stalk women. I’m not even joking. This is what he said: “Ladies, y’all be complaining about n—as being, like, stalkers and in love with y’all, kinda crazy and s–t and you get tired of it. Well, guess what? I’m one of them n—as! If I love you, bitch, ain’t nobody gonna have you. I’m gonna make you miserable. I’m going to chase that n—a out and I’m gonna chase yo ass around, and it’s done.”

In that post, I even mentioned Chris’s disturbing history of specifically stalking and harassing his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran too – there were several incidents which were well-publicized, but the one that I always remember is that night in 2015 when Chris openly harassed Tran for hours and even caused a commotion outside of her house at 3 am and the cops didn’t do anything. So, guess what? Chris Brown is still stalking and harassing Karrueche Tran. She just filed for a restraining order yesterday.

Karrueche Tran is looking to keep Chris Brown far away from her…permanently. E! News obtained the documents in which the 28-year-old model filed to get a domestic violence restraining order against her ex-boyfriend—from whom she split in 2014—after she claimed that he threatened to kill her. Tran filed the documents on Feb. 17, 2017, claiming that Brown has been harassing her as recently as the second week of February. In the documents, she states that Brown “threatened to kill me to others, threatened me via text messages and threatened to harass my friends.” She also claims that he “threatened to shoot me.”

Tran further explained, stating, “Around the second week of February, he told a few people that he was going to kill me. He said if no one else can have me, then he’s gonna ‘take me out.'” She added, “I have text messages from December 2016-January 2017 where he’s made several threats including beating me up and making my life hell.”

The model also claims that the abuse began “years” ago, saying Brown “punched me in my stomach twice” and “pushed me down the stairs.”

In the documents, she’s looking to extend the protective order to her mother and younger brother as she does not want to put them “at risk.” Tran was granted a temporary restraining order until her court date in March.

Though Brown hasn’t specifically responded, he did take to Instagram on Tuesday to address the “bulls–t.” “Make sure ya’ll don’t be listening to all this bulls–t, man. What all them other people on the outside doing, let them do what they doing. I don’t know what the f–k they talking about.”

[From E! News]

It’s disgusting to me that Chris Brown is still doing this, that he’s still out there in the world, that no one has really put a stop to his behavior in all of these years. Even though people became aware of his tendencies in 2009, when he beat the sh-t out his then-girlfriend Rihanna, it feels like he’s escalated in certain ways since then. Like, he’s still a violent psychopath but he’s just gotten more wily, more willing to game the legal system and the PR system. Obviously, I believe Tran and I feel sorry for her. She broke up with him more than two years ago, and it’s like Chris’s ego still can’t handle it. He can’t deal with the fact that he can’t manipulate her and punch his way back into her life. And considering that Instagram he posted three weeks ago, who really has a problem believing that he would kill Karrueche? I mean, that’s the clip the prosecution would use at his trial. That’s his confession. NSFW for language, obviously.

    He makes my skin crawl.

    • Bichon says:

      Agree.

      • NeoCleo says:

I actually feel worried about her. He is escalating. Just because some people can’t believe he’ll hurt or worse kill her or someone in her family doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t happen.

      • Honest B says:

My company was once asked to do some promotional work for one of Chris Browns album releases. It gave me great pleasure to tell them we don’t promote violent scumbags and turn down the work.

    • ronaldinhio says:

I work as a therapist to survivors of domestic violence. People don’t believe them too. Not only famous people are trolled after escaping with only their lives.

I believe His behaviours are escalating.
I think that he is what we would call an intimate partner terrorist.
He would seem to be an incredibly dangerous man and his ex partner’s are lucky to have survived his beatings, strangling and abusive erratic behaviour.
He needs others to stay far far away for their own safety.

  2. Kezia says:

Whatever you do, do not read the comment over on the DM. My head was about to explode with disgust at the horrible victim blaming going on at Karruche and how she’s a fame ho who deserves it.

    • swak says:

Never, ever read comments on DM. Doesn’t matter what the story, they are always disgusting. They don’t moderate the comments and they state that at the top of the comments.

      • Nancy says:

Stans of Rihanna may be vicious towards Karrueche, but the reverse is true as well going as far as to say Rihanna caused her own beating. I am in the minority here, as I don’t care for Karrueche Tran, but I’m glad after all these years, she finally saw the light in re to Fist Brown. What’s sad to me is even with his history of violence, girls will still line up at the door to be with him. Sad all the way around. Book him Dano….

      • Brittany says:

But Karrueche didn’t actually take a stand against his domestic abuse. She got with him knowing full well that he was an abuser, but it was more important to her to be famous by association than to be treated with respect. She only left whenever he knocked up one of her acquaintances/friends. That was her last straw.
I definitely do not condone Karrueche being abused in ANY way, but I wonder why she is surprised that things turned out this way?

      • Stella Alpina says:

I agree with your advice, swak. There’s an infestation of right-wingers and misogynists over at the Daily Fail. I used to comment there years ago and quickly got tired of the disgusting comments and the semi-literate articles. They state that they don’t moderate comments, but I noticed that they’ll allow snide or offensive remarks in 1-2 sentences. If you write something long and articulate, it rarely gets posted.

Good for Karrueche for taking action. TMZ mentioned that if she had filed when he was still on probation, they could’ve arrested his sorry ass. He has shown over and over how violent he is, yet he’ll have no problem finding a new woman to abuse. God protect his daughter.

      • Nancy says:

@Brittany: Agree completely. She is an opportunist, always was. Like you say, that fact doesn’t condone any violent behavior by Fisty, but the girl is no lady. If people don’t know her history, they won’t understand……if they do, they will get my skepticism.

      • Otaku Fairy says:

@Nancy: “…that fact doesn’t condone any violent behavior by Fisty, but the girl is no lady.”
If her ‘not being a lady’ (read: her being a woman who may not have been as sexually conservative/classy as you feel she should have been) is irrelevant to a man choosing to abuse her, then why bring it up? Why invoke the virgin-whore dichotomy? That’s the exact kind of sexism and victim-blaming feminists are talking about when they say things like “Don’t read the comments on TMZ/DM” or when they mention not being surprised by the victim-blaming and internalized misogyny of other women. Your reaction is eerily similar to the reactions some conservative women/feminists had to the honor killing of Qandeel Baloch: Many of them couldn’t just leave it at criticizing her murder and the sex-negative sexism that lead to it without reverting back to respectability politics and how her unchaste way of presenting herself made her ‘no role model’, ‘cheap’ and ‘no true feminist.’ http://www.vogue.com/article/qandeel-baloch-crisis-of-feminism-in-pakistan

      • Nancy says:

Otaku Fairy: I know what I saw and read by this woman and it was appalling to me. Not everything is political. This is my opinion based on facts presented by her. My youngest sister was involved in the trio of her, Rihanna and that creep, otherwise I wouldn’t know she existed. Sorry if I offended you, but I call it like I see it. Fortunately she wasn’t physically harmed by him and can now lead a productive life and learn from her past…….

    • D says:

And don’t read twitter either, the amount of women defending and supporting him is just scary. But the comment section on DM is always the worst, I’ve stopped reading it because it made me lose hope for humanity.

    • Merry says:

The irony is that a good deal of them are Rihanna fans. On social media they are waving their Rhi Navy flags high as they tear Kerreuche down as they always do when her name cames up. Apparently “woman who wouldnt relinquish her man to our queen” is higher on their hate list than “man who beat our queen”.

    • frigga says:

I am no longer surprised at how often other women victim blame, especially when it involves the famous ones…look at Paula and Robin Thicke…I can no longer read comments on certain sites because it makes me want to projectile vomit everywhere.

  3. OriginallyBlue says:

It angers my soul that people still like this fool and support him. He’s a horrible violent POS who has only changed for the worst. I’m sure there are people defending him and blaming Karrueche for everything under the sun. I just hope she stays safe.

  4. QQ says:

The sooner we vote that POS off the country and summarily stop saying “I Like ____ Fists Brown song” or stop making excuses for him instead of calling him for the abusive druggie dirtbag that he is, the sooner he’ll either fade or go away to do all his drugs in a Cave in Cali and we never have to hear from him, he should go down in history the same way we talk about wife beating Ike Turner

    • detritus says:

That would burn him deep I think. Being known only as the shitty ex who abused a very talented and beautiful woman. I’m counting on karma for this one, because I don’t believe we live in a just world and he’ll get what he deserves though legal means.

  5. IMO says:

I know it has nothing to do with the topic but I just have to say, she’s a VERY beautiful woman.

  6. Ayra. says:

I hope she gets left alone, she’s trying to make something with her career and he just won’t let her go, it’s exhausting and I’m just a spectator. Like…leave her alone.
People defending him and blaming Karrueche are beyond help and are usually the ones that have no experience with abusive relationships that just sit on their high horse and judge. Even if there was a VIDEO of him being physically abusive (since Rih’s incident, his constant IG videos and comments was apparently not enough), people would still defend him.

AND he has a daughter? smh

  7. AreYouForReal? says:

As a lawyer, I know that everyone deserves zealous representation, but as a person, I am disgusted by Geragos, his attorney. I know he’ll come out and say Karrueche is lying or doing it for money and Chris Brown will be “vindicated.” How you can continue to represent a dirtbag like that is baffling to me.

  8. BJ says:

How do his fans explain this video? He sounds mentally ill, psychotic.

    • Brittney Buckley says:

I mean… look at the White House.

Hatred of women, including the internalized kind, is a helluva drug.

  9. Tessa says:

What does it take to get put in prison these days?

  10. Shambles says:

He beat a woman almost to death with basically zero consequences. Of course he’s escalated. He thinks he can get away with everything, and so far he has.

Any law enforcement official/judge who doesn’t do something about him will have blood on their hands, eventually. He has been demonstrating exactly who he is for 8 years, and needs to be in prison.

I hope Karrueche stays safe and has a good support system. And yaaaas queen for the #NotMyPresident shirt.

    • Brittney Buckley says:

Love that shirt too. And love your analysis. He will keep going and keep escalating until someone stops him or someone dies, whichever comes first.

    • detritus says:

He was allegedly abusing Karreuche when he was still on probation from almost killing Rih. Imagine that. An abuser who faced almost zero consequences, is still abusing! No one could have seen this coming…

I hope Kae is safe, and I hope MIA Gets baby away from him ASAP. Mia, the momma, sounds like she hates his ass, so hopefully another domestic violence charge will clinch it.

      • AreYouForReal? says:

But she loved his money enough to get pregnant for it. :-/ That being said, she has tried a number of times to get full custody, but Chris’ money won out (she got out-lawyered). Hopefully, this will put the final nails in his coffin.

    • Tiffany :) says:

“He thinks he can get away with everything, and so far he has.”

Exactly. He can have an armed stand off with police, beat women repeatedly, be violent at GMA, and rehab, etc., and he faces no consequences. He won’t stop.

      • Montréalaise says:

One of the reasons he thinks he can get away with everything is because he does. No matter what he did to his previous girlfriend, he knows that he will always find another girlfriend. He beat Rihanna very, very badly yet Karrueche still became involved with him. Yes, law enforcement and the courts should come down on him like a wall of bricks, but women owe it to themselves to protect themselves from guys like this by staying far away.

  11. LA says:

It’s all about control, not love. She left and he can’t handle it.

I dated a guy for about 2months when he started trying to change the way I look and talk. I recognized the signs and broke up with him before he could start hitting me. He wouldn’t leave me alone so I blocked him on every form of communication. Two years later he was still trying to get a hold of me.

It wasn’t Chris Brown bad, but make no mistake ladies, THIS IS NOT LOVE. It’s about control. Recognize the signs and leave asap!

    • Pinetree13 says:

Wow good for you! I was in a similar relationship but I was very weak and did not leave when the signs were there. I still feel very ashamed for staying with that dirt bag. I would never victim blame another woman but I feel disgusted by how pathetic I was. I hope some women will read your comment and take your advice!!

  12. Bubbles says:

Chris Brown is a parasite, a disease. He is everything a man should never be. So disgusting. I feel bad for any woman that gets his attention no matter if they meant to get it or not.

  13. prissa says:

CB is a junkie and a psychopath. He needs to be placed on a 5150 hold for his and others safety. Look at the body language in that pic. You can tell he wants to snatch her up. He is unhinged.

  14. Angel says:

Lord, protect her … and help this lost deranged boy

    • kri says:

I will go for the first part of your comment, Angel. But Chris Brown isn’t a lost boy. He’s a socipathic, abusive, violent scumbag. A scumbag who doesn’t need help or protection from God, cause the entertainment world always has this bastard’s back. For YEARS this crap has gone on. He should have been put away long ago. He will end up killing somebody, mark my words.

  15. Chaine says:

Eventually, he will kill someone. Probably decades from now, when he is a has-been who has more time to devote to ruminating and seething.

  16. Lucy says:

I can’t say this enough: HE SHOULD BE IN F*CKING JAIL. Hope Karrueche can stay safe.

  17. BJ says:

Well I see he posted all his tour dates. He knows that all his fans care about is him making music and performing. He can beat women as long as he make it to the concert and release club bangers.

  18. Nina says:

When you look at the current U.S. administration, the fact that there are people who excuse CB’s behaviour and fawn over him really isn’t surprising.

  19. Dyanna Garza says:

Can someone tell me how she pronounces her name? This has been bugging me for months!

  20. PettyRiperton says:

Unfortunately I don’t see him getting locked up until a woman he’s with is killed by him. It’s sad that guys like him can get away with this stuff. People will say it’s because he’s rich NO! Guys with not nearly the amount of money he has gets away with their abusive behavior too. It’s not until they kill someone that the law finally decides to do something which by then it’s too late.

  21. Katherine says:

Karrueche is such a sweetie, wishing her all the best

  22. Gene123 says:

Doesnt he have full custody of his daughter? Does having a restraining order against you effect this? Could his daughter’s mom take him to court to get custody back?

  23. Libra girl says:

He’s a true sociopath and WHY he has fans and people continue to work with him is beyond my comprehension. He needs to disappear.

    • Pinetree13 says:

Agreed, I change the station whenever his songs come on and I change the channel when Johnny depp is on tv. I’m not supporting any abusers knowingly.

      • Libra girl says:

Same. I never liked Chris Brown and I turn the station or channel if there’s even a glimpse of him. Johnny Depp as well. They should both be in treatment and jail.

      • Skins says:

Honestly, I don’t know any stations that even play Chris Brown music. I don’t even think the guy actually sings anyway, on multiple award shows that I have seen him on it was nothing but lip-syncing. How anyone in their right mind can support this guy is beyond me

      • Daisy says:

        Depp wasn’t convicted..

  24. dandan38 says:

    He actually frightens me…

  25. hogtowngooner says:

He’s repulsive. Almost as repulsive are the women who defend his ass.

  26. serena says:

God, this is crazy. I hope they grant her a permanent restraining order, he’s a psycopath. Also, am I wrong or did Rihanna defended him after he beat the hell out of her? She needs to speak up, not for Karrueche Tran, but to put an end to this. People still workship him and don’t believe he’s an abuser, so I think that RiRi’s influence could help at least with that.

  27. Erica_V says:

He’s commented on The Shade Room’s IG post about this a few times. There are other friends of hers (one a former roommate) who corroborate her story of past abuse.

I hope she gets the RO and he stays away from her once and for all. He’s a psycho.

  28. Bridget says:

They say it takes 7 tries for a woman to leave an abusive partner, and I look back at that crazy back and forth between Brown, Karrueche, and Rihanna years ago and I wonder. It took her a long time to finally be done with him, but she did it and I hope she just stays clear of him and stays safe.

  29. Grandma sutra says:

Did we miss fact that he threw a brick at his own mothers car!!! Stop shaming her already because those people leaving comments saying she was for the money are defending Chris. He’s upset that someone else wants her and the fact he is harassing her mom and brother is disturbing.

  30. Amanda D says:

I’m glad she’s staying strong and standing up for herself. Don’t protect him out of fear. Tell the world your story!
