When the Operation Varsity Blues story broke, Olivia Jade Gianulli became an infamous celebrity in a matter of 48 hours. People Magazine, Us Weekly, Jezebel, the Daily Mail and other outlets were already looking through her social media and watching all of her YouTube videos for story ideas. Olivia became a celebrity for this garbage era – a celebrity through scandal, the art of which was perfected by Kim Kardashian and duplicated ad infinitum. In fact, a Kim Kardashian-esque career was what I predicted for Olivia’s coming moves. I thought she would parlay her infamy into an even bigger social media following and then she would get her own E! reality show, then she would be able to get back all of her beauty contracts and then she would launch her own poorly-punctuated brand of makeup, clothing and home accessories, something like that. What I never considered was that Olivia might be too dumb to grasp the opportunity she’s been given. Apparently Lori Loughlin is super-concerned about her daughters’ future. Bish, think about that before you spend $500K to cheat them into college.
Afraid of what’s to come. Lori Loughlin is dealing with the aftermath of her alleged involvement in a nationwide college admissions scandal — and two people are at the forefront of her mind: daughters Bella and Olivia Jade Giannulli.
“Lori is mortified and gets the seriousness of [the scandal],” a source tells Us Weekly exclusively. “But her concern was for her daughters and [is] now, more so than ever. She is really less worried for [herself] and her husband, [Mossimo Giannulli], and [is] really worried for her daughters’ future.”
A second source previously told Us that Olivia, 19, is “not talking to her parents right now,” as she is “still very upset” over the situation. The insider noted, “[Olivia] feels she is the victim,” as she lost brand deals with TRESemmé and Sephora as a result of her parents’ alleged actions.
According to a third source, “Olivia blames her mom and dad for this scandal and for the downfall of her career.” The beauty guru “was initially trying to shrug off the scandal as something that would pass after a week,” but eventually realized that is not the case. Olivia has been silent on social media since news of the scam broke.

Do you know how many cute and talentless young women would kill for the scandalous opportunity you’ve just been handed? And what’s up with Lori Loughlin? I honestly think she believes she’s too “classy” to really go full momager and exploit family tragedy/scandal to get her daughters a reality show career. I really do think that’s what this is – Lori thinks her family is incredibly respectable and above those déclassé moves which a Kris Jenner-style momager would have already made by now. Lori doesn’t realize that class doesn’t really matter to, like, 80% of the Hollywood ecosystem. Instead of hiding out, Olivia Jade should be encouraged to A) sell out Lori & Mossimo publicly, thus distancing herself from their criminal activities B) do a sobbing tell-all interview where her eye makeup stays on-point and C) sign on with a manager and agent who know how to handle this situation and get Olivia a career out of it.

Yeah, if she cared about her daughter’s happiness she would have listened when O.J. made it clear she wanted to focus on being a social media influencer. It appears that she was good at it, and had multiple sponsors.

There were actually smart students, who studied and worked, who actually did the activities they put on their applications, who did not get into USC, because twits like this took their spot.
I don’t know? I mean there is a scenario to be had where Olivia didn’t know. Granted she should have, but she can say with the rowing machine pictures, I didn’t really know what my parents were doing. Remember the coach is paid for this, so she might not have received the emails and documentation she was on the team. She can bring this all up on her tell all interview. She’ll say I told my parents I didn’t want to go to college and wouldn’t fill out the applications, but they filled them out for me. Now a lot of people out there might not fall for this, but you know some will. Come on American’s fall for a lot. This could work for her. If she hires Kris Jenner, I will laugh so hard. Honestly, she should though.

The whole “beauty guru” thing drives me nuts. Apart from a few exceptions, all these “gurus” look the same, apply makeup in the same way, and do the same shitty collabs with makeup lines. So unoriginal. How are there so many of them? Lol

Ah the irony, after spending all that money to get into school, they’ve had to leave and they’re worried about their future.
I always have to staple my eyes in place preventing over-rolling when people talked of ruined futures. This isn’t the 1800s. Most people today work multiple jobs, change careers, blah blah blah. I would never NEVER let my kids hear me utter concern over their futures. Especially if I had done something so monumentally stupid which would indicate I had to work on my future not theirs.
I don’t see how she can be so mad at her parents when she willingly went along with the scheme. Some of the kids genuinely didn’t know, and I feel bad for them. She went along with it and is also apparently so dumb it’s painful. I don’t feel bad for her or Lori at all. I hope they all just disappear.
We just had a meeting to let us know some of our coworkers are being laid off or shuffled to a different role. There may be another round of layoffs that come up in the near future and none of us know if we’re really safe or not.

The Guinulli’s are Republicans in Hollywood. That means that they hold themselves as morally superior to the Kris Jenners of the world. Think John Voight tearing Angelina Jolie apart and judging her publicly. Desolee is right: this is about the parent’s reputations. Lori lost her TLC money, and now the Target money is at risk. It didn’t have to be that way. Olivia didn’t want to be her parents, people who made it in creative fields but pretend that they are better than the other creatives who did or didn’t get a formal education. She wanted to immerse herself in the beauty world, but she grew up in a house where she did what she was told, even if it was illegal, and even though it was illegal, the Guinulli parents needed to be able to tell people that their daughters are conservative and intelligent (USC!). They probably considered Olivia’s ambitions as tacky, but this world has ALWAYS rewarded beautiful women in LA and in “Hollywood” for how they look. I don’t judge the motivations of Kardashian dreams. Growing up in that world maintains a shallow, glamorous worldview that the public is more than willing to pay for. Lori needs to get off of her high horse and HIRE Kris Jenner to manage Olivia and suck up that her family isn’t the paragon of morality that she sold on TLC.

If Olivia wasn’t Lori daughter she wouldn’t have been a big deal on YouTube she use her mother a lot on her channel to gain attention she also had the fuller cast appear as much as possible . So I find it hilarious that she now blaming her mother for career being mess up if wasn’t for her mother she would be just a another mediocre basic white girl doing makeup tutorial online . The only reason she became popular was because she willing use her mother fame as aunt Becky on full house to gain more followers least be honest if it wasn’t for her mother those companies wouldn’t have given her the time of day . So LL and her husband never instilled in their children the importance of education, a love of reading and the world around them. Saw to it the daughters did their homework, studied, did their assignments etc. Huh.
The kids are selfish brats. But the parents did all this for their own reputation and not for their daughters. I don’t know why parents get embarrassed when their kids don’t go to college. These parents only wanted the kids to get into college for their own seflish reasons – for bragging rights. Sometimes you have to let a kid fail and find their own way. My parents said either you went to university or you worked at moved out. (I didn’t have it as cushy as these families but we were pretty comfortable). Parents who pull these stunts are not helping their kids at all for the future. Rant over!
