I’ve felt so broken and helpless so many times with the Trump administration. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve just felt like crying when reading some story of the Trumpers’ sadism and cruelty and treason. The United States Postal Service issue is one of those times – there’s no charity to donate to, there’s nothing to “do” besides be f–king outraged that Donald Trump and his people are trying to dismantle the USPS as a way to dismantle democracy. So I don’t blame Cher for feeling helpless and thinking that she could possibly “volunteer” at the Post Office:
NO,IM NO KIDDING…COULD I
VOLUNTEER AT MY POST OFFICE ⁉️— Cher (@cher) August 19, 2020
IS NO ONE GOING TO HELP ME
WITH POST OFFICE 🙄— Cher (@cher) August 19, 2020
Thank you for standing up for the USPS! If you'd like to DM us, we'd love to talk about how you can get more involved.

As you can see, she really did make some calls and try to volunteer. The Post Office does not accept volunteers, but clearly, the postal workers’ union is interested in using Cher in some capacity, and I can’t wait to see what they do together.
As for the congressional hearings into Louis DeJoy (the Postmaster General) and how he’s trying to destroy the USPS from within, he’s apparently promised to stop dismantling everything, but he is not promising to restore what has already been dismantled. There’s some stuff on social media about how mailboxes are still being removed this week, even after DeJoy promised that he would stop.

My morning playlist features If I Could Turn Back Time, 9 to 5, Respect, I’m Coming Out, Praying, You’re So Vain and Truth Hurts. I highly recommend blasting songs from musically gifted divas every day! It definitely helps me cope with the patriarchy.
Cher is a national treasure!
🏳️🌈
Ha last night in the car my husband and I heard “the way of love” and I belted out every single word. I don’t think he was expecting that lol.
Lmao my partner was a bit shocked by my morning routine the first time he witnessed it. I basically run around blasting power ballads while I sing along, chug coffee and smear glitter on my face. I am NOT a morning person so I have to hype myself up.🧚🏼♀️✨
On really rough days I catch myself dancing along to YMCA 🙊
I kind of love the thought of Cher becoming the official USPS spokesperson! She is trying to help them out while our president is trying to destroy them. This isn’t how I thought 2020 would go but here we are.
I’m am waiting for Cher’s postal PSA with bated breath!
That hardware from the post office that putrid Trump is DESTROYING…that stuff cost US MILLIONS OF DOLLARS….and can’t easily be replaced 🤬😡🤬
Dear G-d, I love Cher. Besides Stevie Nicks, she is my queen. She could totally get the post office in shape and do it in a Bob Mackie gown.
Cher wearing a postal themed ball gown by Bob Mackie while she victoriously helps fix the Postal System to stop an autocrat… is what fairy dust and dreams are made of.
I need this to happen in real life. I will definitely pay to watch the accompanying music video. (All proceeds would go to a fundraiser that entails Diva themed stamp sets).
PS ITA about Stevie Nicks too. She’s a legend.✨
I am totally there with your Cher comments. Yes please.
As for Stevie Nicks, I watched her perform in Hyde Park in London in 30+ degree heat (86F and up according to google) in a FUR COAT. Now I’m hoping it wasn’t real fur but either way she must have been melting. Oh and it was a song she wrote after watching Twilight. Amazing.
LOL. Stevie really does bring the costume drama to the stage, its part of her thing! The song you’re thinking of is “Moonlight (A Vampire’s Dream)” and I was so nervous the first time I heard it that she was going to be singing about Edward and Bella but its better than that lol. That whole album (In Your Dreams) is one of my favorites of hers.
DeJoy is a snake and I wouldn’t put it past him to be lying. Things are already such a mess and that mess varies station to station that he could continue to sabotage us and no one would really know. The damage he’s already done is mind blowing.
He not only needs to stop ripping out machinery and boxes, he needs to restore everything to prior levels immediately.
USPS can’t take volunteers because it is union and everything is bargained for work. A volunteer would be taking a shift from a union member, essentially a SCAB.
But I am sure the union will happily work with Cher and appreciates her support.
My neighbors and I blasted Turn Back Time as our carrier entered our street this morning. He put on quite a show for us, dancing from house to house.
Your last comment is making smile and well up slightly. It’s amazing what people can achieve when they pull together with a common cause.
I’m shocked, shocked I tell you, that DeJoy said there would be no more equipment removal..and still there IS more equipment being removed from USPS sites.
Arrest them all.
Love Cher!
I love Cher and love that she’s trying to help the USPS.
I’m a sales executive with the Canadian postal service, Canada Post, and I work with US based brands to get their mail into Canada. It breaks my heart to see what’s happening in the US and this is the first time I’ve ever seen a government undermine their own post office, a service millions rely on every day. You don’t remove sortation equipment without replacements and removing SLBs is unheard of. While the USPS hasn’t been profitable Ina while (we are, many post offices are), that is mostly down to their enforced pension pre-payments and not necessarily operations.
It’s true you can’t just volunteer as you need clearance to work with the mail. Perhaps she can do something else that will help USPS, which I’d love to see.
Stay strong American friends! We love you.
I went to one of her shows in December and it was worth it just to hear all of her stories. Also she fully talks smack about men from her past on stage and I WAS ALL ABOUT IT. Love her and the USPS!
Cher(and Sonny)put on a show in Mobile in the early 70s. She had just turned 25. Some guy in the audience yelled, “Cher, how does it feel to be over the hill?” I don’t recall her response, but it’s nearly 50 years later. She’s here and I wonder where HE is. You go, girl.
